Abstract

Gadgets addiction is a behavior of someone who can not control themselves in the use of gadgets that cause individual dependence. This can harm someone especially teenagers. Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize our own feelings and the feelings of others. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the level of gadget addiction and emotional intelligence of adolescents at State Senior High School 2. This research is a correlation analysis study with cross sectional design. The research population involved students of class XI IPS at State Senior High School 2. The samples in this study involved 84 people taken with proportional random sampling techniques. The results showed the majority of gadget addiction levels were mild (34,5%), moderate category (63,1%), and heavy categories (2,4%) and the level of emotional intelligence with normal categories (10,7%), borderline categories (81,0%), abnormal categories (8,3%). Spearman's Test Results with a = 0.05 with a p value = -0,037, it can be concluded that there is relationship between the level of gadget addiction and emotional intelligence on students at State Senior High School 2. Suggestions for students at State Senior High School 2 to be better in using gadgets in their free time, so as not to interfere with daily activities

Abstract

Ankle brachial Index (ABI) is an examination to determine of vascularization in the lower leg in T2DM patients. Vascular disorders in the lower legcan predicted nerve function problem in the legs (peripheral diabetic neuropathy). The purpose study was to exploration the ankle brachial index in T2DM patiens and its correlation with foot sensory. This study was an observational analytic with cross sectional design with population was type II DM patients in diabetic clinic Sari Mutiara Hospital. The number of samples was 65 respondents taken by accidental sampling with inclusion criteria did not have diabetic ulcers, heart or kidney disease and exclusion criteria were ABI values> 1.3. Conclusion: The lower of ABI values indicate a problem of foot sensory in T2DM patients.It is recommended for T2DM patients to routinely to assest of ABI and leg sensitivity and control glikemic levels.

Abstract

ABSTRAKAnkle Brachial Index  (ABI) merupakan pemeriksaanbyang dilakukan untuk mengetahui gangguan aliran darah pada kaki. Penurunan nilai ABI  meningkatkan kejadian ulkus di kaki penderita DM tipe II. Pencegahan dapat dilakukan dengan mengurangi faktor resiko. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh usia, jenis kelamin, merokok dan lama menderita DM pada ABI  penderita DM tipe II. Jenis penelitian ini adalah analitik korelasi dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pasien diabetes mellitus tipe II yang pernah berkunjung ke puskesmas Helvetia dan puskesmas Darussalam Kota Medan. Sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 92 responden, diambil menggunakan tehnik simple random sampling. Hasil uji regresi linear berganda, usia dan jenis kelamin, tidak berpengaruh terhadap nilai ABI (p0,05). Ada pengaruh lama menderita DM (p=0,000) dan riwayat merokok (p=0,000) secara signifikan pada nilai ABI. Disimpulkan merokok dan  lama menderita DM dapat memperburuk vaskularisasi di ekstremitas bawah. Disarankan penderita DM tipe II yang merokok untuk berhenti merokok karena merokok meningkatkan resiko komplikasi kaki diabetik.Kata kunci: Ankle brachial index, lama menderita DM, riwayat merokok. ABSTRACTAnkle Brachial Index (ABI) is an intervention to know blood flow disorder in the legs. A lower ABI score can increase the risk of suffering from diabetic foot ulcer. Prevention can be done reduce the risk factor. The objective of this research was to analyse the effect of smoking and duration of diabetes mellitus on the ABI of patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). This study utilized an analytic correlation with cross sectional design. This study population was T2DM  Sufferersin in Puskesmas Helvetia and Puskesmas Darussalam  Medan City. Sample in this study was 92 T2DM patients, taken by simple random sampling. By using multiple linear regression test, it was shown not effect of age and sex on ABI of patients with T2DM (p0.05). It was shown the effect duration of T2DM and history of smoking on ABI patients with T2DM (p0.05). Concluded smoking and duration of diabetes can worsen vascularization in the lower extremities. It was recommended to patients with T2DM to stop smoking because smoking increases the risk of diabetic foot complications.Keyword: Ankle brachial index, diabetes duration, smoking history.

Abstract

Background: Head injuries are a major cause of death and disability because of trauma, it happed in many countries of the world. The case of head injuries in the Emergency department, need immediate managing to victim to prevent further complications. The Nurses required to assess and recognize abnormality as soon as possible and further management of the victim to save their life. Through the physiological status. The patient's physiological status is the best way to recognize the prognosis, such as GCS, systolic blood pressure, respiratory rate, body temperature, and blood glucose levels while admitted to emergency  ward.Purpose: To analyze and determine (simultaneously) a predicting factor the most dominant influencing significantly of outcome following head injuryMethods: A retrospective approach by analyze patient's medical records on January-December period in 2018 at H. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan. The study sample comprised 166 medical records which taken by purposive sampling technique with the following criteria: new admission (not referral), there were available data such GCS data, systolic blood pressure, respiratory rate, body temperature, blood glucose levels within 7 days under treatment.Results: Logistic regression test found that GSC (p 0.000; OR 2.583), systolic blood pressure (p 0.024; OR 0.947), and blood sugar levels (0.038; OR 0.982) had a significant effect on the mortality. The nurse must pay attention in handling patient head injuries who have a lower GCS scores and systolic blood pressure, following by high blood sugar levels.Conclusion: By evaluation of GCS, systolic blood pressure and blood sugar levels can predict the patient's current condition. The lower the GCS score, the higher the risk of death by 2.583 times and the lower the systolic blood pressure, the greater the risk of mortality by 0.947 times. The higher the blood sugar level, the risk of death increased by 0.982 times.

Abstract

Infeksi virus HIV menjadi bagian dari penyakit kronis yang menimbulkan tekanan psikologis yang tinggi dan rasa cemas pada orang dengan HIV/AIDS (ODHA), kecemasan pada ODHA lebih tinggi dibandingkan orang pada umumnya yang dapat menurunkan kualitas hidup. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh terapi hipnotis lima jari terhadap tingkat kecemasan pada pasien HIV/AIDS di Rumah Sakit H. Adam Malik Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian Quasy exkperiment pre and post test desine dengan rancangan one group pretest-posttest. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 31 orang yang di pilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kecemasan sebelum diberikan terapi hipnotis lima jari sebagian besar berada pada kategori sedang yaitu sebanyak 15 orang (48,4%) pada tingkat kecemasan berat sebanyak 14 orang (45,2%) dan pada tingkat kecemasan ringan sebanyak 2 orang (6.5%). Setelah diberikan terapi hipnotis lima jari menunjukkan bahwa adanya penurunan jumlah tingkat kecemasan berat 2 orang (6,5%) tingkat kecemasan ringan 11 orang (35,5%) tingkat kecemasan sedang 18 orang (58,1%). Hasil penelitian ini di uji statistik Wilcoxon di dapatkan hasil nilai p-value 0,002 (P< 0.05), Simpulannya ada pengaruh yang signifikan terapi hipnotis lima jari terhadap tingkat kecemasan pasien HIV/AIDS. Kata kunci: HIV/AIDS, kecemasan, terapi hipnotis lima jari ABSTRACT HIV Virus infection is a part of a chronic disease that raises high psychological pressure and anxiety in people with HIV/AIDS (ODHA), the emergency of ODHA is higher than those in general who can lower the quality of life. This research aims to determine the effect of five-finger hypnotic therapy on anxiety levels in HIV/AIDS patients at H. Adam Malik Hospital in Medan. This study used quantitative method with research design of Quasy exkperiment pre and post test desing with one group Pretest-posttest. The number of samples used as many as 31 people were selected with the purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the level of anxiety before the five-finger hypnotic therapy was largely in the medium category of 15 people (48.4%) At a severe anxiety level as much as 14 people (45.2%) And at a mild anxiety level as much as 2 people (6.5%). After the five-finger hypnotic therapy showed that there was a decrease in the number of severe anxiety levels of 2 people (6.5%) Mild anxiety Level 11 people (35.5%) The anxiety level was 18 people (58.1%). The results of this research in statistical test Wilcoxon in Get the result of p-value 0.002 (P < 0.05), In conclusion there is a significant influence of five fingers hypnotic therapy to the anxiety level of HIV/AIDS patients. Abstract

Background: HIV / AIDS is an infectious disease that is very dangerous and deadly. So that the self-concept of HIV / AIDS patients sees themselves negatively and causes stress.Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between self-concept and stress in PLWHA.Methods: The design of this research is correlation analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study was all HIV / AIDS patients who were in Posyansus at RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan. The sampling technique was purposive sampling technique and obtained 39 patients. The data collection tool used a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, for the self-concept questionnaire as many as 15 statements with a value of r = 0.903 with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.914 and stress using the DASS 42 questionnaire consisting of 42 statements with a value of r = 0.916 with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.948 . The test used for data analysis was the Chi-Square test with a p-value 0.05.Results: The results showed that the majority of self-concept was positive (92.2%) and the majority of stress was mild (51.3%) and the p-value = 0.029 0.05.Conclusion: In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between self-concept and stress in PLWHA.

Abstract

Infeksi Saluran Pernapasan Akut (ISPA) adalah gangguan saluran pernapasan yang sering terjadi dan merupakan penyakit yang masih dianggap remeh oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Pajanan asap rokok dalam rumah merupakan faktor utama pencemaran udara dalam ruangan yang menyebabkan gangguan pada saluran pernapasan, khususnya pada kelompok balita. Kecenderungan orang tua untuk merokok di dalam rumah membuat anak balita menjadi perokok pasif yang sering terpapar asap rokok. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan orangtua yang mempunyai kebiasaan merokok di dalam rumah dengan ISPA pada anak balita, mendemonstrasikan  tanda dan gejala ISPA, dan mendukung program pemerintah GERMAS (Gerakan Masyarakat Hidup Sehat) dimana salah satu programnya adalah tidak merokok di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Saitnihuta Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Solusi permasalahan kebiasaan orang tua merokok di dalam ruangan adalah pemberian edukasi dan sosialisasi tentang bahaya merokok di dalam ruangan melalui media leaflet dan brosur. Setelah kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan, pengetahuan orang tua meningkat dan orang tua memahami bahaya merokok di dalam rumah sehingga terjadi perubahan pola hidup sehat untuk mencegah kejadian ISPA pada balita.

Abstract

Hipertensi merupakan faktor pencetus terjadinya stroke. Menumbuhkan kesadaran dan kewaspadaan diri sangat penting dalam upaya pencegahan terjadinya komplikasi suatu penyakit. Self awareness mengenai pentingnya melakukan deteksi dini dapat menjadi upaya untuk mengurangi risiko terjadinya stroke pada orang yang menderita hipertensi. Salah satu metode deteksi dini untuk penderita stroke adalah metode BE-FAST. Metode BE-FAST adalah Balance (keluhan kehilangan keseimbangan atau pusing atau kepala yang berat sehingga cenderung berpegangan pada sesuatu atau duduk Kegiatan pengabdian masyakat ini dilakukan dalam bentuk promosi kesehatan melalui edukasi tentang BE-FAST yang disampaikan dengan metode ceramahbertujuan untuk meningkatkan self awareness terhadap deteksi dini stroke pada penyandang hipertensi. Kegiatan ini dihadiri diikuti 27 peserta. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata jawaban benar peserta meningkat dari sebelum edukasi rata-rata 4 meningkat menjadi 8 setelah edukasi. Dengan meningkatnya pengetahuan, diharapkan penyandang hipertensi memiliki self awareness yang tinggi terhadap deteksi dini guna menurunkan risiko terjadinya stroke.

Abstract

The Risk of violent behavior is a symptom of schizophrenia patients that can be controlled through progressive muscle relaxation therapy (PMRT). PMRT is a relaxation technique that focuses on muscle activity by identifying tense muscles and then reducing tension by doing relaxation techniques to get a feeling of relaxation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of PMRT on changes in symptoms of risk of violent behavior in schizophrenic patients, especially on the risk of violent behavior. This study uses a quasi-experimental pre-post test design. The population in this study amounted to 27 people with a total sample of 18 people. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling. The research instrument used was a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed by Paired t-test with P-value = 0,000 <p = 0.05. The results showed that there was an effect of PMRT on changes in risk symptoms of violent behavior before and after PMRT. The conclusion that PMRT has a significant influence on changes in risk symptoms of violent behavior in RSJ Prof. Dr. M. Ildrem Provsu Medan.

Abstract

The role of the family as a caregiver of people living with HIV/AIDS can cause a lot of stress. The purpose of this study was to explore the family burden as a caregiver of people living with HIV/AIDS. This research is qualitative research with a descriptive phenomenology approach. This research was conducted at RSUP H. Adam Malik in Medan City. Participants in this study were 4 family members who care for family members infected with HIV who were taken by purposive sampling technique. Participants' inclusion criteria were ≥17 years of age who were able to speak Indonesian and were able to tell about the burdens experienced while caring for people living with HIV/AIDS. The themes found included psychological burdens, social burdens, family problems, and role conflicts. The research conclusions illustrate that families who are caregivers in carrying out their roles are not easy because they cause psychological burdens, social burdens, economic burdens, family problems, and role conflicts. Nurses can provide nursing interventions to increase caregiver coping to reduce the burden they experience.
