Abstract

Preparing students’ in entering the workforce is a challenge and understanding the determinant factors affecting students anxiety will useful in understanding phenomenon. This study aims to examine internal and external factors affecting students anxiety in facing the world of work. In detail, the research involved self efficacy, adversity quotient, socioeconomic status and perceived social support to explain students’ anxiety. Using both online and offline questionnaires, approximately 654 participant were involved with simple random technique sampling. Accordingly, the completed data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling with SmartPLS. The findings indicate that  internal factors (self-efficacy, and adversity quotient, and external factors (socioeconomic status and perceived social support) have a significant influence on anxiety facing the world of work among advanced students in Indonesia. Keywords: self-efficacy, adversity quotient, socioeconomic status, perceived social support, relieving anxiety.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of organizational climate and culture on employee performance by mediating job satisfaction. This study includes quantitative research using a questionnaire in data collection. The population in this study were employees of a 3-star hotel in Malang. The sampling technique used non-probability sampling with consecutive sampling types and 146 respondents were selected according to the characteristics of the study. The data analysis technique uses SEM (Structural Equation Modeling, PLS). The study results indicate the two independent variables have different effects on the dependent variable, particularly organizational climate which affects employee performance, while organizational culture does not directly affect employee performance. The results of mediation testing show that job satisfaction provides a mediating role both on the influence of organizational climate and culture on employee performance. This study proposes that hotel management needs to continue to maintain a positive organizational climate and organizational culture so that employees can consider job satisfaction which has an impact on employee performance. Keywords: Organizational climate, organizational culture, job satisfaction, employee   performance

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyse the effect of the role of supervisor and procrastination on the success of doctoral studies. The sample of this research was 149 alumni of the doctoral program in Indonesia who are taken randomly. A causal study using SEM PLS was implemented with Multi Group analysis (MGA) based on work groups between lecturers and non-lecturer employees. The results of this study indicated that the role of supervisor has a positive effect on the success of the study both as a whole and per group. The role of supervisor has a positive and significant effect on overall procrastination, but differs within the group, for lecturers it is not significant while for non-lecturers is significant. Procrastination as a whole sample has no significant effect on the success of doctoral study, as well as within the group. This can be concluded that the supervisor's role plays an important role in increasing the success of doctoral students' studies.Keywords: Success of study, role of supervisor, Procrastination.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of developing interactive media for economic subjects with the Android platform. This study followed the development research using the 4D model consisting of four stages: defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The trial subjects used class X SMA Lab school Universitas Negeri Surabaya. The instruments were validated by undergoing sheets and questionnaires. The collected data were further analyzed with descriptive analysis by validating material experts, media experts, practitioners, and students’ responses. The findings indicate that the review and validation by a presentation expert showed a validation score of 85.19%. The number of students who have test scores above 78 is 26 out of 30 students. Therefore, the classical completeness obtained is 86.67%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that Android-based interactive media for economics class X is feasible, practical, and effective in improving student learning outcomes. Keywords: Android platform, Economics subject, Interactive media, Senior high schools

Abstract

This study aims to solve the problems of SMEs’ performance in the culinary and hospitality sectors in Pekanbaru by involving several companies’ internal environmental factors to build a competitive strategy. The variables engaged in this study consisted of social capital, entrepreneurial leadership, innovation capability, and performance. It involves 200 SMEs consisting of 167 culinary enterprises and 33 hospitality enterprises in Pekanbaru City in Riau of Indonesia. Using the structural equation model (SEM) approach, the results show that social capital has no significant direct effect on the business performance of culinary and hospitality SMEs in Pekanbaru. However, social capital indirectly affects SMEs’ performance through innovation capability. In addition, entrepreneurial leadership, directly and indirectly, affects the financial and non-financial performance of SMEs through capability. Culinary and hospitality SMEs in Pekanbaru must do a job in relationships partnerships with withs with common goals in furthering SMEs business. This active participation helps SMEs nurture knowledge and the latest information in the business world. Furthermore, culinary and hospitality SMEs actors were dominated by young entrepreneurs. It could be a valuable capital for SME act to be more innovative and creative in company improvement strategies, especially in coping with the COVID-19 pandemic. Keywords: Social capital, Entrepreneurial leadership, Innovation capability, SMEs   performance
