Abstract

The aims of the research are (1) to develop a convertible book bases on scientific approach to improve the concept understanding and care-for-environmental character, (2) to reveal the effectiveness of the developed convertible book to improve the concept understanding and care-for-environmental character of grade IV students of elementary schools in Moga sub-district. The research uses Research and Development (R & D) model with reference to product development by Borg & Gall. The subject of research are students of elementary schools in Moga sub-district. The validity of the developed convertible book was analyzed by converting to five quantitative criteria. The effectiveness of the convertible book in improving the concept understanding and care-for environmental character was analyzed by N-gain score, t-test and MONOVA at the significance level of 0.05. The result of the research showed that the convertible book fulfilled the feasibility criteria according to the validation by material expert and media expert, teachers’ responses and students’ responses which was in a good of very feasible category. The convertible book was effective to improve the students’ concept understanding and care-for-environmental character. The result of the t-test at sig. 0.05 showed the effect of the use of the media and test MANOVA, that there was significant effect between experiment and control class at 0.00.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the context, input, process, and product components of the School Literacy Movement (SLM) program at SD Kristen 04 Eben Haezer Salatiga. This evaluation research uses CIPP model with a qualitative description approach. The data collection was done by interview, observation and document study techniques. The data were analyzed by calculating the means of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The data was validated by triangulation of sources and techniques. The results showed: (1) context: the SLM program was implemented in accordance with the emergence of Ministry of Education Regulation number 23 of 2015 in order to improve character, knowledge, and a sense of reading students, (2) the SLM program input in planning, financing and facilities, and infrastructure was in accordance with needs, but the SLM management structure has not yet been arranged. (3) process, the SLM program has been implemented in accordance with the plan. Constraints faced are in the form of lack of motivation and student interest, teachers have not received training, the view that SLM interferes with learning, and time is still lacking. (4) the product implementation of the SLM program is in accordance with the objectives but there are still things that need to be improved. So that the SLM program at Christian Elementary School 04 Eben Haezer needs to be continued the following year with improvements in several aspects.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss about teachers competence as well as solutions in giving teachers professional development program, especially in IR 4.0 era. Teachers are an important part in education system since they hold important role in increasing the quality of human resources. In addition, the demand on teachers professional development is also escalating in order to match the advance of technology, especially in Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0). Unfortunately, it was found that there are still a lot of problems faced by teachers. Those problems are related to how they do their teaching as well as improving their competence to fit the need of students who are mostly milennials generation. Some problems of teachers that are identified such as the low quality of teachers competence, abundant task ini composing teaching documents and administrative jobs, the difficult curriculum content that must be implemented and many more. One of the solutions offered is joining online teachers development programs available via social media. Another solution is improving pre-service teachers education.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model with ‘dakon’ media for multiplication operations of 4th grade elementary school learning outcomes in Srikandi Gunungpati Semarang. This is a quasi experimental research with a non-equivalent control group design. The sampling technique is cluster or area sampling, which specified to Pongangan Elementary School as an experimental class and Cepoko Elementary School as a control class. The data was collected with test and non-test techniques. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes in the experimental class by 37,06 and the control class by 32,88. The hypothesis test results showed the value of t-count (2.32)> t-table (1.67), so that the average learning outcomes of the experimental class multiplication operations was higher than the average learning outcomes of the control class. Furthermore, the n-gain of the experimental class was 0.69 with high criteria and the n-gain value of the control class was 0.63 with moderate criteria. From the gain and n-gain values, the increase in learning outcomes in the experimental class was higher than the control class in medium improvement category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the RME learning model with dakon media is more effective in improving learning outcomes than the conventional model in multiplication learning of 4th grade students at elementary school of Cluster Srikandi Gunungpati Semarang.

Abstract

Knowledge sharing has important role in establishing and maintaining the quality of any organization especially in education area. Knowledge sharing is influenced by transformational leadership which builds a culture of sharing and motivates all members to practice it. This study aims to identify the effect of transformational leadership, organizational culture, and motivation to knowledge sharing behavior. This study utilizes a quantitative approach with a path analysis method to determine the effect of the coefficients of each variable. The data was collected by distributing questionnaires to 70 respondents at Sekolah XYZ Kupang. The result showed that (1) transformational leadership has no direct effect on knowledge sharing behavior; (2) organizational culture has a positive effect on knowledge sharing behavior; (3) motivation has a positive effect on knowledge sharing behavior; (4) transformational leadership has a positive effect on organizational culture; (5) transformational leadership has a positive effect on motivation; (6) transformational leadership has a positive effect on knowledge sharing behavior through organizational culture; (7) transformational leadership has a positive effect on knowledge sharing behavior through motivation.

Abstract

This research reviews the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic to the effectiveness of online distance learning. It seeks the degree of students’ material understanding via online learning in each region, with the availability and limitations of different internet network connections. This condition is used as a reference that whether online learning method bring useful results compared to face-to-face methods. This situation will also be reflected in students’ opinion when asked about the effectiveness and preference of the learning method. The samples were taken purposively for an electronic questionnaire survey through Google Form. The results indicated that: 1)the transition from face-to-face learning methods (81.8%) to online distance learning (PJJ) (18.2%) has an effect on understanding the absorption of material; 2) the occurrence of constraints caused by the condition of the infrastructure, as the main medium the quality is not guaranteed, namely internet connection (42.9%), resulting in less effective online learning activities.

Abstract

This research is a mixed study (quantitative-qualitative) that examines learning theories to support the PQDiS-CSR learning model in biology and science learning and tests the validation of the PQDiS-CSR learning model based on survey result from FGD participants. The research subjects are biology and science teachers as well as education experts from Indonesia through FGD (focus group discussion) activities. The results of the study show that there are three learning theories that support this learning model; behaviorism learning theory, constructivism, and information processing systems. he results of the validity test on the development of learning models based on the results of the survey from FGD participants were 4.36 categorized as valid and usable.

Abstract

This is an evaluation study for the School Operational Subsidy (SOS) program at SMP Negeri 6 Salatiga to identify the aspects of the design, installation, process, product, and cost benefit analysis. Using the Discrepancy Evaluation Model (DEM), the subjects who participated were school committee members, school principals, treasurers, teachers and parents. The instruments were interview sheets, observation guidelines, and document study guidelines. The data analysis was done with percentage and categorical techniques. The results showed that: 1) in the design aspect, there was a 5% average gap between the standards set and the actual conditions of the program implementation, in very low category; 2) in the installation aspect, there was 0% or no gap between the standards set and the reality that occurs empirically; 3) in the process aspect, there was an average gap of 4%, in very low category; 4) in the product aspect, there was an average gap of 13%, in very low category; and 5) aspects of the cost benefit analysis, there was an average gap of 11% in very low category.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is devastating people’s general income. It also affects the education sector. The government attempted to create an infrastructure as a solution to reduce the pandemic's impact. Economic resilience is a factor that shows the economic resources resilience in the midst of problems. Therefore, to understand the readiness level of people in Salatiga when welcoming the ‘new normal’ from WFH-online to offline activities, we use the economic resilience factors as indicators. Based on the research, it was found that Salatiga is gradually improving oneself to make the ‘new normal’ agenda succeed. This happens because Salatiga economic has decreased yet still afford for recovery.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine (1) the implementation of academic supervision in the 3T area in Bengkayang Regency; (2) the influence of academic supervision in the 3T (frontier, outermost, and least developes) areas in particular in Bengkayang Regency on improving teacher competence and professionalism. This research is a mix method research with the Sequential Exploratory model which is a combination research method between qualitative methods first and then strengthened by quantitative methods. The research subjects in this study were school supervisors, school principals and teachers in the Bengkayang Regency area, which were included in the 3T category. The instruments used in this study were interview guides, questionnaires and also observations. The results showed that (1) the process of academic supervision carried out in the 3T area in Bengkayang Regency could not be implemented according to the provisions proposed by the government, because there was limited access to locations with long distances between schools. Another problem with the academic supervision process in the 3T area is the lack of evaluation or feedback given by supervisors to teachers, so that the shortcomings of teachers cannot be conveyed properly. (2) The academic supervision program that has been implemented in Bengkayang Regency has no significant effect on increasing teacher competence and professionalism. Many other factors influence the competence and professionalism of teachers in the Bengkayang Regency area.
