Abstract

The study aimed at examining the planning, the implementation, and the evaluation of guiding and counseling services. This study was a qualitative research which conducted at SMAN 1 Mamuju in Mamuju district. The data sources of the study were determined with the consideration that the chosen informants had sufficient knowledge and able to explain the real condition which related to the study as well as they available time to be interviewed in the process of collecting the data. The informants were the coordinator of guiding and counseling, teachers of guiding and counseling, the principal, teachers of subject matter, and students. Data were collected through interview, documentation, and observation. Data were analyzed qualitatively and the data were verified using triangulation and member check.The results of the study were (1) the planning of guiding and counseling services at SMAN 1 Mamuju in Mamuju district showed that series of activities had been conduted, proved by the implementation of feasibility study/analysis of environment, the arrangement of guiding and counseling program, the implementation of consultation program among teachers of guiding and counseling, and partnership with subject matter teachers as wellas the implementation of task organization and the responsibility of guiding and counseling teachers; (2) the implementation of guiding and counseling at SMAN 1 Mamuju in Mamuju district showed that teachers of guiding and counseling had been conducted, proved by the implementation of basic services activities, responsive services activities, and individual plan activities; and (3) the evaliation of guiding and counseling services at SMAN 1 Mamuju in Mamuju district showed that the implementation of evaluation of guiding and counseling activities had not been conducted well and not systematic yet, proved by the implementation of evaluation activities which was conducted in a form of a report was not yet described the result aspect

Abstract

This a type of comparative technique survey. The population was entire teacher of SD Negeri in Somba Opu Sub Regency of Gowa Regency as much 641 teachers. The sample was taken by using proportional random sampling from the population as much 75 teachers lead by head minister and 77 teachers lead by headmistress, and the differentiation was by using questionnaire in likers scala and then it was analyzed descriptively and statistically by using the analysis of t-test. The result identity that; (i) leadership style of head minister show that he is more authoritative, democratize, laissez faire, and have more charisma than the headmistress; (ii) the headmistress was tend to implement the transformative style in leading; (iii) teachers’ performance lead by head minister and head mistress was show a good category in designing the lesson program, designing the lesson, implementing the lesson process, assessing and evaluating the learning achievement; (iv) there were differentiation between head minister and headmistress in their leadership style. The head minister is more authoritative, democratizes, laissez faire, and has more charisma than the headmistress who is tend to implement the transformative style; (v) there is no differentiation between teachers’ performance lead by head minister and lead by headmistress. Both of then show a good category.

Abstract

The concept of education quality means that all the ability of educational institutions to fulfill all the desires of their customers, in this case students. The main driver in allocating these resources is budgeting, where in budgeting the focus of the problem is determining the level of expenditure to finance various activities to achieve educational goals. In the quality approach, the role of financing seems clearer, because the efficient use of education costs is seen as the placement of every business that must be able to improve the quality of education. Therefore, giving priority to educational input factors can spur student learning achievement, and education quality as the output of the education process. Improving the quality of education is an important thing to pay attention to and it has consequences for the education budget

Abstract

The study aims at examining the empirical descriptions of reason, process, and  the impact of the application of Siri' values on the principal’s leadership behavior at SMAN 2 Pangkajene in Pangkep district. The location of the study was centered at SMAN 2 Pangkajene in Pangkep district. The type of the study used in  this study was descriptive qualitative. The main source of the data was the principal which also involved the vice-principal, the head of administration, and teachers as other informants. Data were collected through observation, guided interview, and documentation. The data then were analyzed using qualitative method conducted in several stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, data validity. The results of the study reveal that the application of Siri’ values on the principal’s leadership behavior at SMAN 2 Pangkajene in Pangkep district viewed from (1) the reasons of application due to a) bureaucratic expectation to make it  into realization, b) norms and informal values which internalized within oneself as part of life experience, c) the needs and individual motive to be fulfilled, and d) organizational objective to be achieved. (2) the process of application consisted of the process of a) task oriented leadership behavior, b) relationship oriented leadership behaviors, and c) change orientation leadership behavior; (3) the impact of application the impact toward a) the school as the education institution and b) the employees of the institution as education implementer such as the principal, teacher and staff, and students.

Abstract

The formulation of Problems are: 1) How the Role of Head Master in school Management of Elementary School of 172 Enrekang. 2) What Problems are faced by The Head Master in School Management. 3) Some factors that support the school management in Elementary School of 172 EnrekangThe objective of the research is to analyze the role of Head master in managing the Elementary School of 172 Enrekang, including: Planning, actuating and supervising.The research is qualitative research by using some informants as a source of the data. the research is done by interview methods, observations, documentations. The data is analyzed by using descriptive quantitative methods based on planning, actuating and supervising. So it can be concluded that School Management in Elementary School of 172 Enrekang has been done but not too maximal yet. This is because there are still many problems, specially on fee, teachers (dominated by women). However there are some internal potentials supporting, according to the Head Master, such as (1) Human Resources, (2) Environment. Human resource has important role to increase the development of the school; The number of staffs, The qualification of the staffs, and the skill of the staffs. Beside that, Elementary school of 172 Enrekang has had some professional and qualification teachers in supporting the teaching and learning process. Finally, Elementary School of 172 Enrekang supported by external institutions such as Educational institution, Religion institution, Healthy institution and School Comitee.

Abstract

The study aimed at discovering (1) the description of the planning of Production-based Education Program at Engineering Academy in Soroako, (ii) the description of the organization of Production-based Education Program at Engineering Academy in Soroako, (iii) the implementation of Production-based Education Program at Engineering Academy in Soroako, and (iv) the monitoring technique of Production-based Education Program at Engineering Academy in Soroako. The study employs descriptive-qualitative approach with a case study. Data were collected through interview, observation, and documentation which analyzed by employing Miles and Huberman model.The results of the study revealed that (i) the planning of the implementation of production-based education program was conducted well such as cunducting the bench marking with other higher institutions, forming the team consisted of PDI, Kaprodi, and Sekprodi, the management conducted orientation to the instructors and lecturers as well as preparing the SK of instructor but it did not separate which one is production-based education and non production-based education, preparing learning material such as raw material, machine/equipment, blue print and APD were prepared well and preparing learning package administration well such as GBPP, SAP, AI, and source contract, (ii) the organization in relation to the curriculum which based on the Production-based Education Program for level 1 student was still in introduction, whereas level 2 and level 3 involved more on the Production-based Education Program, especially the level 3 students. The human resources of lecturers referred to maps of lecturer competence which updated by PSDM unit whereas, the budget used was fully depend on the Soroako Edducation Foundation (YPS) which was PT. Vale Indonesia, Tbk., (iii) the implementation of mobilization of Producttion-based Education Program was led to the responsibility of the lecturers, instructors, and structural officials based on the role and accountability standard book in each of work unit, thus, the role and accountability of the lecturers, instructors, and structural officials were tangible in engineering Academy in Soroako, (iv) the monitoring was conducted to ensure that the curriculum had linked with the industry, controlled whether the curriculum had been conducted based on the plan, so the team had coordination with the Head of Study Program. In terms of the result of practice performance, the measurement of the performance was conducted at the end of the program. If the program completed, it meant that it was implemented. The custemer satisfaction was reported by Students Unit and Production Unit to the Director in coordination meeting of Directors as well as ISO Quality management Review meetng on the achievement of KPI.

Abstract

The study aimed at discovering (i) the description of the implementation of sibaliparri’ values in funding school management, particularly the facility and infrastructure at SMAN 1 Campalagian, (ii) the supporting and inhibiting factors on the implementation of sibaliparri’ values at SMAN 1 Campalagian. This study was a qualitative research with a case study approach at the level of school’s organization. The study provided in-depth description on the implementation of sibaliparri’ values in funding school management at SMAN 1 Campalagian in Polewali Mandar district. The data sources of the study were determined purposively. Data were collected through interview and observation and validated by conducting triangulation and member check. The result of the study revelead that (i) the implementation of sibaliparri’ values in funding school management at SMAN 1 Campalagian was conducted well, which covered 3 functions of funding management: firstly, the school funding plan produced school development plan and school’s revenue and expanditure budget plan. Secondly, the finance implementation stage. Thirdly, the evaluation stage. Those three stage involving stakeholders, namely the principal, board of teachers, staff, committe, and society, (ii) the factors which influenced the implementation of sibaliparri’ values in funding school management were the internal factors such as enthuasiasm from the students in conducting the program by working together, brotherhood, and sincere; whereas, the weakness were lack of aids from the government in providing the facility and infrastructure. The external factors were the opportunity and challenges. The opportunity in this case was the value which instilled strongly to the people of Mandar in general.

Abstract

The Implementation of local Values in the Principal’s Leadership of Public Senior High School in Wajo District. The application is an implementation of leadership behavior of principals through actions demonstrated as the education managers. Those actions are applied through various behaviors of local values in facing various demand and situational constraints in the process. This research applied qualitative approach in a form of descriptive method. The results of the research revealed that: the value of siri’ or ashame, reso’ or effort, lempu’ or honesty, getteng‘ or constancy, were the local values applied by the principal that (i) the local value named as siri’ was applied and given to the teachers, staff, students, committee, parents, and community by the principal, which was not only limited by giving DP3, but also in many aspects regarding the aspects in the school, (ii) the Buginese value named as reso’  or the effort conducted maximally by the principal by empowering all the member of the school. The empowerment was conducted by impvolving all personnels in planning, active in the application, and transparency in evaluation, (iii) the value of lempu’ was the basic fundamental in establishing relationship among humans and one of basic factors in life, and (iv) the value of getteng’ had been conducted maximally to involve teachers, students, parents, and community in the principal’s leadership.

Abstract

This study aimed at discovering (1) the description on TIK-based management learning, (2) the role of teachers in TIK-based learnin  and, (3) the supporting and inhibiting factors TIK-based learning at SMK Negeri 4 Makassar.The results of the study revealed that the management of TIK-based learning at SMKN 4 Makassar: the management of SMKN 4 Makassar had provided TIK facilities and the TIK facilities were not sufficient yet; whereas, the description on the management of learning process revealed that not all teachers conducted TIK-based learning. The roles of the teachers in TIK-based learning gave positive benefit for teachers and students in realizing learning objectives. The supporting factors on TIK-based lerning were TIK facilities were avalaible based on the needs and there was training for teachers on TIK; whereas, the inhibiting factors were TIK facilities were not sufficient yet, weakness on the organizing and monitoring, the electrical power was not sufficient, and low signal of internet network.

Abstract

This study is intended to describe the performance of certified teachers and factors that influence the SMA Negeri 7 Bulukumba. This type of research is qualitative research with data sources are principals, heads of administration, curriculum officers, certified teachers, and students. The techniques used in data collection are interviews, observation, and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed by qualitative descriptive analysis.The results showed that the performance of certified teachers in SMA Negeri 7 Bulukumba was seen from the results of work, work efficiency, job satisfaction and work adaptation went well and the most prominent in improving the performance of certified teachers. This can be seen from certified teachers who have a performance in the success of learning, increasing the absorption of students is proven by the methods and media of learning. Factors affecting the performance of certified teachers in SMA Negeri 7 Bulukumba seen from internal and external factors, these two factors strongly support the implementation of the learning process well, it can be seen that the better the teacher's personality, the higher his dedication in carrying out his duties but the means and infrastructure is not sufficiently supportive, which prevents teachers from carrying out their duties.
