Abstract

The beauty and benefits of plants in the Green Open Space are often disturbed by mistletoes. The existence of mistletoes often indicates the occurrence of disturbances or damage to the host plants that are parasitized. The mistletoes has been widely known by the community, but has never received attention in handling it. There has been little research on crop damage or loss caused by mistletoes. The purpose of this research is to know the existence of mistletoe and to know the pattern of distribution of mistletoe in green open space of Surabaya city. The study was conducted using the exploration method with emphasis to observe the distribution of mistletoes and identification of the type of mistletoe obtained. The results showed that the distribution of mistletoes in green open space in Surabaya tend to be grouped according to the distribution pattern of host plants. There are three types of mistletoes that mistletoe green open space plants in the city of Surabaya namely Dendrophtoe pentandra (L.)  (very dominant), Macrosolen cochinchinensis (Lour.) Van Tiegh, and Henslowia frutescens.Champ

Abstract

Biogas is one solution to the use organic waste (livestock manure and vegetables). The aim of the research was to find out the effectiveness of livestock manure and fermentation of vegetable waste into biogas. This research was carried out using fermented vegetable waste for 10-12 days, then it was chopped and blended. The vegetable waste is then mixed with cow dung and water according to the determined variables. The mixture was put into a brown glass bottle and the bottle mouth was closed with a balloon and deposited for 8 days. Furthermore, the CO2 gas produced was released and start to deposite again for 20-30 days. Trapped methane gas obtained from in the balloon was then stored to measure the produced volume and pH and also the methane gas. The results obtained from the research that is were the best pH obtained from vegetable waste blender fermentation treatment (% water100 and the percentage of KS: SO was 75:25) was 7 and the largest volume was obtained from fermented chopped vegetable waste treatment (water% 300 and percentage KS: SO was 100: 0) of 78.73 cm3.

Abstract

Purchasing Consortium (PC) is a strategy in purchasing wich two or more organizations with separate legal entities are merged either individually or through third parties. The main problem that arises in a PC is how to allocate the savings obtained to each member. Generally, the contributions given by each buyer in the purchase differ from one another. Allocation of savings equally to each buyer is no longer representing the contribution of each buyer. The purpose of this study is allocated savings using the Shapley value method of the cooperative game theory. Where each buyer obtained a saving allocation that is in accordance with his contribution. Based on the results of the Shapley value, the results of saving allocations were matched with the contributions of each member who joined the PC. Where buyers 1 with a larger contribution get a greater contribution than the others.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to identify and determine the heavy metal content of lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) towards eyebrow pencil registered and not registered by the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM). This research was conducted in several markets in Surabaya. Twelve eyebrow pencil items were investigated for lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd). Simple reagents, included HCl, NaOH, KI, Na2S2O3 and NH4OH were used to identify the presence of these heavy metal first. The study results showed that samples of eyebrow pencil registered and unregistered by BPOM RI after being tested turned out to contain lead and cadmium in a range of 1.092-5,834 mg/kg and 0,054-0.243 mg/kg, respectively. The content is still within what is required based on the regulations of BPOM RI, < 20 mg/kg for lead content and < 5 mg/kg for cadmium content. In short, all the sample of eyebrow pencil contained lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) within what is required based on the regulations of BPOM RI.

Abstract

Wet noodles as a source of carbohydrates have a moderate GI value that is 53-56. For this reason, engineering processes was needed to reduce GI value so that it becomes safe and healthy food. Tea (Camellia sinensis) contains tannin polyphenols which can reduce protein and starch digestibility so that the glycemic response decreases. The addition of tea extract to the noodles will result in changes in product properties, so that research on quality of wet noodles with tea extract addition was needed. This research used Factorial Randomized Block Design. The first factor was tea type with two levels and second factor was tea extract concentration with three levels. The parameters observed were organoleptic test, namely taste, aroma and color, and chemical tests, namely protein and tannin content. The research conclusion were: (1) based on organoleptic test, the addition of green tea was preferred over black tea, (2) the addition of green tea and black tea did not caused significant differences in protein content, (3) the tannin content with the addition of green tea tends to be higher than black tea, and (4) the selected treatment was T1K1 (addition of 1% green tea extract) containing 5.81% protein and 15.39% tannin.

Abstract

Small and Medium Industries (SMEs) has a very important contribution of creating jobs, which in the end can help increase people's economy in Indonesia. However, SMEs tend to care less about long-term development strategies and more care about how to survive today. In order to survive and develop, SMEs needs to increase their productivity. Governance improvement is one strategy to increase the productivity. Many things can affect the governance, one of which is channels. In this study, there will be discussed about the effects of channels on influencing governance to improve the productivity of SMEs. The method used to determine the effect of channels on governance is Partial Least Square (PLS). Based on the results of the discussion in this study, it can be concluded that the channel has a positive influence on the governance of SMEs.

Abstract

Infectious disease is the type of disease that most people suffer from in developing countries, including Indonesia. One of the causes of infectious diseases is Candida albicans. Lingzhi mushroom (Ganoderma Lucidum) is one of the plants in Indonesia which has potential as an antimicrobial. This study aims to determine the antimicrobial ability of lingzhi mushrooms (Ganoderma lucidum) ethanol extract against Candida albicans. The research method uses soxhlet methods. The results showed bacterial inhibition zones at concentrations of 20 μg/ml (8.3 mm) in the inactive category, 40 μg/ml (9.3 mm) with the inactive category, 60 μg/ml (10.5 mm) with the category less active, 80 μg / ml (11.4 mm) with the active category, and 100 μg/ml (12.6 mm) in the very active category. It can be concluded that the extract of Ganoderma Lucidum has an effect to Candida albicans bacteria. Based on observational data analyzed with the Oneway Anova test, it obtained a significant value of .000. This showed that there were differences in inhibition zones formed from various concentrations. Based on research antimicrobial activity of lingzhi mushroom ethanol extract (Ganoderma lucidum) used soxhlet method had an effect to inhibitory zone of Candida albicans.

Abstract

Sidoarjo has become one of the districts with the largest number of SMEs and milkfish processing SMEs being one of the superior in Sidoarjo Regency. However, the increasing number of milkfish processing industries even from outside Sidoarjo Regency has caused this industry to be able to compete with various similar businesses from various regions. Therefore, a strategy is needed to improve the competitiveness of processed milkfish. From these problems, the design of increasing the competitiveness of SMEs was carried out with the method of Quality Function Deployment (QFD). The QFD method is used because this method can be used to plan and develop products in a structured manner and allow the development team to clearly define customer needs and expectations, and evaluate the ability of a product or service systematically to meet those needs and expectations. Customer needs and expectations based on the House of Quality matrix consist of 4 indicators including products, prices, packaging, and marketing. While the criteria used were 14 criteria. Development priorities based on House of Quality are marketing, packaging design, quality of additional materials, quality of raw materials, content of additional materials, production equipment, and use of packaging materials.

Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility is part of the strategy and management policy for a company, as compensation for implementing business activities that indirectly affect to the community activities and the environment around it. There are several CSR patterns that can be applied: the involvement of companies, foundations or corporate social organizations, partnering with other parties, and supporting or joining a consortium. CSR is signed to be successful if the recipient community is satisfied. Satisfaction level was analyzed using the Service Quality Method, assuming the company has implemented 3P (Profit, People, Planet) and knews public expectations. The results of data processing using GAP analysis showed that CSR needed to be improved in Sumberrejo Village, Banyuglugur and Binor Villages, among others: improvements in the four companies' efforts in providing improvements, sustainable wished by companies in providing CSR sustainability, increasing community capacity to solve problems using training ever given, and improved conditions for CSR assistance. Improvements were needed to improve the quality of next CSR.

Abstract

The population of Sidoarjo Regency with a relatively high number and growth rate has consequences for the increase of waste produced volume. Increasing of volume waste is directly proportional to the increase in population, meaning that amount of waste produced is increasing (organic and inorganic waste). The TPA center in one of the garbage collection locations in Sidoarjo Regency has exceeded capacity (overload). This research was conducted with the aim of describing initial model of the distribution of waste used, evaluating initial performance model of waste distribution in Sidoarjo Regency, and providing recommendations to propose improvements in the waste distribution model used. The method applied in this study was using simulation. Based on the simulation results, the Third Scenario proposed the route with the most efficient distance, this affected the vehicle's operational time and the operational costs needed.
