The result shows that children in the experiment group are more motivated than the control one. Based on the Mean result, there is significant improvement between pre and post test in experiment group; 67.53 to 81.42. In the same line, the result of Tcount 26,747 > t tabel 1,986, it means there is significant difference between pre and post result. Meanwhile, The mean of Control group is not significant improvement; 68.08 to 68.05. Control group also has Tcount 1,731 < Ttabel 1,986 that means there is no significant difference between pre and post result. It can be concluded that children’s books are useful to improve the children’s reading motivation or the love of reading in remote area

Abstract

This study aims to improve the problem-solving abilities of students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 10 Bandar Lampung, in learning mathematics using the Reciprocal Teaching learning model. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). This action is carried out in 2 cycles where each cycle consists of 4 meetings. At each cycle, students are given a final cycle test to measure their problem solving abilities. Data analysis techniques in this research are descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis. The results showed that learning mathematics using the Reciprocal Teaching learning model can improve problem solving skills. This is indicated by an increase in the average value of the first cycle test of 57.40, while the second cycle test of 73.80. The average percentage of problem solving aspects in cycles I and II are as follows: (a) the ability to understand the problem increases from 50% to 75%, (b) the ability to plan problem solving increases from 62% to 77%, (c) the ability to carry out the plan increased from 59% to 70%, and (d) the ability to interpret the results obtained increased from 61% to 73%.

The research was conducted at second semester students of English Department of STKIP PGRI Bandar Lampung in 2017/2018. In this research the researcher used experimental method. The population ofthis research was94 students in 2 classes. The sample of the research were two classes, the first class was ENG IIB consisted of 47 students as the experimental class and the second class was ENG IIA consisted of 47 students as the control class. In the experimental class was the students were taught by think pair share strategy and in control class the students were taught by using the conventional technique. In conducting the research, the writer used Cluster Random Sampling technique to establish the experiment class and the control class, because all students were the sample is homogeneous. In data collecting technique, it was used spoken test, it is included instruction that students should make a composition based on the topic chosen. In data analysis, the writer used t-test formula. It was found that ttest > ttable = 2.98>1.67 for significant level 5% and ttable 2.39 for significant level 1%.It means thatHα is accepted. So, the researcher concluded that there is the influence of using think pair share strategy towards students’ speaking ability of English Department of STKIP PGRI Bandar Lampung in 2017/2018

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Active Knowledge Sharing learning strategies on mathematical communication skills of seventh grade students in the middle semester of Middle S 1 Sungkai. The method used in this study is the experimental method by conducting research directly using the Active Knowledge Sharing strategy in the experimental class and conventional learning in the control class. The population in this study were all students of class VIII Even Semester 1 of South Sungkai Middle School which consisted of 5 classes with a total of 208 students, while the sample was taken by two classes namely class VIII.2 as the experimental class, and class VIII 3 as the control class. Then the two classes were given a test in the form of an essay test of 5 questions which were first tested for validity and reliability. Hypothesis testing in this study using the t-test formula with the value t=6.16 and from the distribution table t at a significant level of 5% it is known that t=1.99, t> tso that it can be concluded that "There is an influence of the application of Active Knowledge Sharing learning to mathematical communication skills of eighth grade students of the semester of South Sungkai 1 Middle School 2017/2018 school year"
