Abstract

The internship program provides students with a good experience developing their potential to prepare themselves to work in the future. This paper focuses on looking at students' experiences in carrying out internships in a hotel in rural areas far from the center of the crowd. This qualitative study aims to examine the experiences of undergraduate tourism students conducting an internship program which approximately three months to see the reality of world work at a hotel. The study was designed with a descriptive qualitative method to study the participants’ experiences. This study conducted the data through focus group discussions and a semi-structured interview. The data obtained were analyzed through transcribing, coding, managing, and interpreting. This study involved four undergraduate tourism students aged twenty-one to twenty-three years old. This study revealed the benefits and the challenges they got through the internship program at the hotel. The benefits include learning disciplines, self-development, and gaining new skills. The challenges include adaptation to the skills required in work, such as responsibility, teamwork, and communication, limited days off, and limited public transportation around the internship site. This study concluded that students learned various skills and knowledge at the internship site through guidance from the supervisor and team. As a result, they achieve self-development and skills useful for their career in the future.

Abstract

E-learning media is the result of technological developments that are currently used to support online and blended learning. Many researches on the development of e-learning media have been carried out, so a re-analysis is needed to find out how much influence the use of e-learning media has on critical and creative thinking skills. This study uses a meta-analysis technique by determining the effect size value. The sample used is 10 articles from 2011-2021. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be seen that the use of e-learning media has a major effect on critical and creative thinking skills. The e-learning media that has an effect on critical thinking skills is role play games (RPG). The e-learning media that has an effect on creative thinking skills is mobile learning. The effect of e-learning media on critical and creative thinking skills is highest at the high school education level. The biggest influence of the use of e-learning media on critical thinking skills is in Java Island, and on creative thinking skills is in the Maluku Islands.

Abstract

Cooperation is one of the characteristics that must be possessed by every individual because humans are social creatures who need other people. However, what happened to the students of SMA Negeri 3 Buru, the collaborative personality seemed to fade in students, especially thanks to technological advances that gave students the feeling that they could solve problems, solve problems on their own in addition to developing children's character through extracurricular activities that students can participate in at school. outside of teaching and learning activities. This study aims to determine the benefits of scouting activities to train student collaboration at SMA Negeri 3 Buru. This research was conducted at the gudep Sawaka Bakti, the base of SMA Negeri 3 Buru, the Waeapo branch of the Buru branch. Retrieval of research information through observation expositions, interviews and also documentation. This study involved several selected sources related to the research title. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method that uses observation guidelines, interview guidelines, and documentation guidelines. The results of this study indicate that cooperation is an important thing that must be developed in students, and scouting activities can be a solution to train students' cooperation, can develop delicate abilities in students and develop the character of the nation's children through activities in scout extracurricular activities.

Abstract

The learning models becomes an important tool in the learning process. The abilities that students are expected to have will be determined by using appropriate learning models. The study aims to determine how the application of direct instruction and e-learning learning models in basic programming subjects can increase achievement motivation. This research used Quasi-Experiment approach. The design used anon-euivalent control group. The number of research samples consisted of 70 students of class X MM SMK Ketintang Surabaya. The independent variable in this studies was application of direct instruction (X1), E-learning (X2) while the dependent variable used is achievement motivation (Y). Multiple regression used for analyze data. The results showed that tcount = 5.5924 and ttable = 1.371 for dk = 5, at significant level 5%. Test criteria show that tstatistic> ttable (4.5924 > 5.371) then H0 rejected, meaning H1 accepted. It can be interpreted that difference between the Direct Instruction learning model and e-learning is significant.

Abstract

This research is the result of the researcher's observations, with the finding that learning activities in elementary schools have not used concrete learning media to convey material, especially related to material about the nature and changes in the shape of objects. The media used is still minimal and lacks innovation, because the ability of teachers is still lacking in developing learning media, the teacher's lack of time to make media, and the lack of ideas in utilizing learning media to support the learning process of students. This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of Powtoon-based audio-visual learning media developed for science learning in grade IV. This research is a type of R&D (Research and Development) research with adaptation to the ADDIE development model (analizys, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). Subjects in the study included teachers and fourth grade students at SDN Mrican 1 Kediri. The results of this study indicate that (1) the validity of the media obtained an average result for the media 96.25%, while for the material obtained 90%, it was declared valid for learning media, (2) the practicality of the media obtained the average teacher response questionnaire results. reaches 96%, it is declared practical as a learning medium without revision. (3) the effectiveness of the media obtained an average evaluation result with 21 students reaching 90%, so it can be declared effective to be used in the process of learning activities. From the results of this study, through a learning model that uses Powtoon-based audio-visual related to natural science material about the nature and changes in the shape of objects, it shows good results and is accepted by students. Then the results of research related to Powtoon-based audio-visual media can make students understand more about material properties and changes in object shape and can increase student enthusiasm in class.

Abstract

The existence of Balinese language courses at a university received various responses from students at the university. Moreover, a university has students who come from different cultures, such as multicultural students at the Brahma Widya Faculty of UHN IGB Sugriwa Denpasar. The responses that come out cause different language attitudes between students from one another. Based on this background, the problems discussed in this study are how the language attitudes of multicultural students at the Brahma Widya Faculty of UHN IGB Sugriwa Denpasar towards Balinese language courses. This study aims to describe the language attitudes of multicultural students at the Brahma Widya Faculty of UHN IGB Sugriwa Denpasar towards Balinese language courses. The population of this research is the students of UHN IGB Sugriwa Denpasar, precisely at the Brahma Widya Faculty, Department of Hindu Theology in the 2021/2022 academic year with a total of 29 students selected through the total sampling technique. The method of data collection was carried out using a language attitude questionnaire/questionnaire using three characteristics of language attitudes according to Gavin and Mathiot. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative which is then followed by qualitative verification. The results showed that the language attitude of the students of the Brahma Widya Faculty of UHN IGB Sugriwa Denpasar showed a tendency for positive language attitudes in Balinese language courses. This can be seen from the three characteristics of students' positive language attitudes, namely language loyalty, language pride, and awareness of norms in the main language of Balinese. Even though they come from areas with different cultures, these multicultural students have great motivation in learning languages, especially Balinese language is included in the courses they get during their education at UHN IGB Sugriwa Denpasar.

Abstract

This research was obtained from observations as well and interviews conducted at SDN Mrican 1 Kediri City, where it is known that the use of media in learning Civics, particularly the Pancasila Values material, is still very limited. As a result, it is critical to create media that is engaging, innovative, and capable of engaging students in their learning. The goals of this study were to 1) describe the validity of interactive multimedia Nisila, 2) describe its effectiveness, and 3) describe teachers' and students' reactions to the development of interactive multimedia Nisila. The research method used in this study is R&D using the ADDIE model, which has five stages: 1) Analyze, 2) Design, 3) Development, 4) Implementation, and 5) Evaluation. The validation of the media construction received an 89% score, while the validation of the media material received an 88% score. The effectiveness of Nisila's interactive multimedia received an average score of 92 in the limited test and a score of 92.5 in the broad test. The teacher's response to Nisila's interactive multimedia is 90%, and the student response is 98%. Based on these findings, it is possible to conclude that Nisila's interactive multimedia is highly valid, effective, and widely used.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the development of 4-D pictorial riddle-based poster media as teaching materials for religious education courses in the Hindu Religious Education Study Program; find out whether poster media is feasible or not to be used based on the assessment of material experts, learning practitioners and media experts; knowing the interest in learning and student learning outcomes after using poster media. This type of research and development refers to the 4D model of the development process. At the development stage (Develop) learning tools, all the instruments used and the poster media developed were validated by learning experts and practitioners. Expert validators and practitioners are Lecturers of STAHN Mpu Kuturan Singaraja. The develop stage consists of a limited field test and an extensive test. The results showed that Pictorial Riddle-Based Poster Media was developed in four stages, namely Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate; Pictorial Riddle-based poster media is said to be feasible in terms of SBI, PA (Percentage of Agreement) scores, and based on the results of student response questionnaires. The poster media has an SBI score of 3.92 in the good category, the PA score is 92.2%, and the result of the student response questionnaire is 3.86 in the good category and is included in the appropriate category for use. Based on the normalized gain value, the increase in student interest in the second semester of the Hindu Religious Education Study Program after applying the poster media is 0.13 with a low significant level. Based on the normalized gain value, the increase in student learning outcomes in the second semester of the Hindu Religious Education Study Program after applying the poster media was 0.42 with a moderate significance level. The results showed that the poster media based on pictorial riddles that was developed was very well used as teaching material in the Hindu Religious Education Study Program.

Abstract

The synergy of the roles of teachers and parents affects toward the development of children's character starting from the family, school to their community. This study aims to illustrate the optimization towards the role of teachers and parents in the developing of discipline, responsibility, simplycity and family characteristics to the students at SMA 3 Denpasar. This descriptive qualitative employes the teachers, parents, and principals as the research subjects. The data was collected through interviews and observations techniques which were analyzed thoroughly using analyz interacative model technique, in addition to using the triangulation to test the data validity. The results showed that the optimization of the roles of teachers and parents can be conducted by: 1) building effective communication between parents and teachers; 2) conducting periodic meetings between teachers and parents; 3) Involving parents in school anniversary celebrations.

Abstract

Amid outbreaks, with limited preparation and infrastructure, learning is carried out by all of school in Indonesia. This research is aimed to investigate the satisfaction of Islamic high school (IHS) and high school (HS) students with online learning that they have participated in during the pandemic. This research is quantitative research. Data was collected by online questionnaire which was distributed to 520 HIS students and 796 HS students in South Kalimantan. Data were analyzed by t-test to determine the significance of differences in satisfaction levels. The results found that online learning during the pandemic was carried out with various platforms, and there were no changes in the learning system: curriculum and syllabus. Online learning in South Kalimantan at the IHS/HS level is faced with problems with an internet connection, internet quota, student independence, learning design, and technical ability. The satisfaction of IHS and HS students in South Kalimantan with regard to learning is in the quite satisfactory category (average score of 2.9). The difference between the two types of education is significant 0.009, with a significance level of <0.05. Thus, H0 is rejected, and Ha is accepted.
