Abstract

Caryophyllales is known as an order that has anomaly secondary growth. The anatomy of the carnation stem (Dianthus caryophyllus L.) was analyzed to obtain valid data on relationships with other family members. The primary structure of the stem, consists of epidermis composed of a layer of cells; cortex and pith are composed of parenchymal cells and have intercellular space; and the primary vascular tissue composed of the fingers consists of several tracheas of xylem, where the xylem is located on the inside and the phloem on the outside. Furthermore, in secondary growth, the stem has a normal structure with abnormal cambium activity. This is included in the characteristics of plants that have anomaly secondary growth. The results of this study can be used as a limiting character to strengthen the relationship between taxon, especially in the higher category

Abstract

Tempeh is an Indonesian traditional food rich in vitamins and minerals easily digested by the body. Materials commonly used as tempe fermentation substrate are soybean (Glicyne max), but not all areas in Indonesia can be overgrown by soybeans, therefore it is needed alternative substrates for tempeh fermentation. Pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan L.) can be used as substrate of tempeh fermentation alternative by soybean, therefore it is needed alternative substrate for tempeh fermentation. this is because pigeon pea has a fairly good nutritional content and has the content of vitamins and minerals needed by the body. However, some of these minerals are bound to phytic acid compounds which are trypsin inhibitors, so the process of processing such as fermentation is one way to decompose phytic acid compounds. In this research has been done in the form of determination testing of ash, nitrogen, vitamin and mineral content by standard method, done before and after fermentation. Ash content decreased after fermentation, nitrogen content, iron content, calcium content and phosphorus content also decreased, while vitamin B12 has increased although not significant.

Abstract

Dengue is one of the infectious diseases transmitted to humans by the bite of Aedes aegypti or Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. Dengue virus infections include dengue fever, dengue hemorrhagic fever and Dengue Shock Syndrome (DSS). The dengue virus has four types of serotypes: DEN_1, DEN_2, DEN_3, DEN_4. In the model, will be studied the dynamics of the spread of dengue hemorrhagic disease type SEIR. From the model then fixed point will be determined, then analyzed the stability of each fixed point by considering the basic reproduction number (R_0 ). The results showed that for fixed point without disease the condition would be stable when R_0<1, while the fixed point of endemic would be stable for condition whenR_0>1.

Abstract

Iron plays an important role in plant metabolism, one of which is the forming of chloroplasts. Iron is needed in small amounts but iron deficiency can cause yellow spots on the leaves, indicating failure of chlorophyll formation or known as chlorosis. Therefore, iron becomes an essential element or micronutrients whose existence is absolute must be met by plants. Iron is very abundant in nature found in the form of minerals. However, the availability of iron for plants is very low. The availability of iron is related to the solubility of iron in soil solutions or water in nature. This paper will review factors affecting the availability of iron for plants, including the effects of soil and water pH, the role of bacteria, soil organic matter and the potential reduction of soil or water. Interaction of these factors produces a certain value of pH and reduction potential (E) in water and soil. The resulting iron specimens based on the correlation between the pH value and the environmental redox reaction value can be predicted using the pourbaix diagram of iron in water and soil.
