Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of kenikir leaf extract (Cosmos caudatus) on the mortality of Grayak Caterpillars (Spodoptera litura). This type of research is a laboratory experiment, with the design used is a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of five treatments and five replications. The treatments were P0 + as a control, P1 with a concentration of 25%, P2 with a concentration of 50%, P3 with a concentration of 75%, and P4 with a concentration of 100%. Data analysis techniques with steps: normality test, homogeneity test and one way anova test. Research Results, based on the One Way Anava calculation, it was obtained that Fcount = 11.40 with Ftable = 4.43. then it can be stated that the value of Fcount> F table then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. In the BNJ (Honest Significant Difference) test, the significance level of 1% of the effect of kenikir leaf extract on treatment A 25% (P1) was not significantly different from the concentration of 50% (P2) and 75% (P3), and at treatment D 100% (P4 ) is not significantly different from ACD, the treatment E (P0 +) is very significantly different from ABDE. Conclusion, there is a very significant effect of kenikir leaf extract (Cosmos caudatus) on mortality of armyworm caterpillar (Spodoptera litura), the higher the concentration of insecticide given, the higher mortality of armyworm caterpillar.

Abstract

This study aims to produce student worksheets based on macroscopic mushroom exploration in the Low Plant Taxonomy (TTR) course at STKIP-PGRI Lubuklinggau. South Sumatra that is feasible and effective. This research is a development study using the 4D development model from Thiagarajan. Research data in the form of macroscopic fungi, validation results from validators, student questionnaire responses, and tests were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. Based on exploration results, the macroscopic mushroom species identified were 24 species from 16 families, 7 genera, 2 classes and 2 divisions. The results of the analysis showed that the MFI developed was feasible (very valid), received positive responses from students with strong criteria, and the percentage of mastery learning was 92.3% with very high learning effectiveness criteria, Conclusions, Student Worksheets (LKM) developed were valid and feasible for student use, and has significantly high effectiveness in student learning in the Low Plant Taxonomy (TTR) course at STKIP-PGRI Lubuklinggau. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of flipped classroom-based service learning application on metacognitive awareness and science literacy in fungi material class X SMA Negeri 3 Batusangkar. This type of research is quasi experiments with the research design Posttest Only Control Group Design with a sample number of students who participated in this study as many as 66 people. Data collection in this study using metacognitive awareness questionnaire and science literacy essay test after the implementation of service learning model based on flipped classroom. As a result of the study, the average grade of experiments for science literacy tests was 74.11 and 67.86 in the control class, while the average scores for metacognitive awareness of experimental class learners were 73.79 and 66.23 in the control class. In conclusion, flipped classroom-based service learning has an influence on metacognitive awareness and science literacy of learners. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of adding plantain peel extract as a source of antioxidants on white tofu production. This research is an experimental research, while the research stages are; 1) Making banana peel extract; 2) Antioxidant Test of Banana Skin Extract; 3) Phytochemical test of banana peel extract; 4) Tofu production with a combination of banana peel extract with various concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15%; 5) Extraction of fortified tofu; 6) Test the antioxidant activity of tofu; 7) ALT test. The results showed that the banana peel extract contained alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, steroids, and triterpenoids. The antioxidant activity of the banana peel extract was 58.020%. The antioxidant activity value of the most optimum fortified tofu was shown in the addition of banana peel extract with a concentration of 15% with a shelf life of 1 day at room temperature which was 51.868%. The best ALT value was seen in tofu with variations in the addition of banana peel extract by 15% with a shelf life of 1 day at room temperature. In conclusion, the use of banana peel extract can not only increase the value of antioxidant activity but can improve the quality of the tofu by increasing the shelf life at room temperature. Abstract

This research aims to find out the effect of dosing bokasi fertilizer on the growth and yield of cucumber crops. The study was conducted from June to September 2019. This study used Randomized Group Design (RAK) consisting of 4 treatment levels namely B0 = No treatment, B1 = Bokashi 3 tons. Ha-1 (6 kg/ bedeng), B2 = Bokashi 5 tons. Ha-1 (10 kg/bedeng), B3 = Bokashi 7.5 tons. Ha-1 (15 kg/ bedeng), B4 = Bokashi 10 tons. Ha-1 ( 20 kg / bedeng). Each treatment was repeated three times, resulting in 15 studies. What if the results of the analysis show a noticeable difference then it will be followed by a real honest difference test (BNJ) of 0.5%. The results showed that the administration of bokashi fertilizer with a dose of 5 Ton.Ha-1 in cucumber plants can give good results to plant growth, starting from the length of the plant is 16.13cm, the number of leaves at the age of 2 MST is 11.83 and at the lifespan of 4 MST is 25.67 strands, the flowering life is 27.67 days, and the weight of the fruit is 2.37 kg. While the dose of bokashi fertilizer 7,5 Ton.Ha-1 on cucumber plants can be seen in the number of fruits that is 6,00 pieces / plant. In conclusion, the use of bokashi fertilizer 5 Ton.Ha-1 has a good influence on the growth of cucumber plants, as well as the use of bokashi fertilizer 7.5 Ton.Ha-1 provides good results for cucumber plants. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of kitchen lemongrass spice (Cymbopogon citratus) on the organoleptic quality of purebred chicken eggs. In accordance with the objectives of the research to be achieved, then in the analysis using the Complete RandomIzed Design (RAL) consisting of 3 treatments namely T 1 = 1 week, T 2 = 2 weeks and T 3 = 3 weeks with repeated as many as 5 times so that 15 experimental units were obtained. The results showed the influence of kitchen lemongrass spice (Cymbopogon citratus) on the organoleptic quality of purebred chicken eggs in the color, aroma, and appearance criteria test and hedonic test did not give a real influence (P>0.05). In conclusion, the use of lemongrass spice does not give a noticeable influence on the organoleptic quality of purebred chicken eggs. Abstract

This study aims to determine the bioinsecticide effect of amethyst seed (Datura metel) on the death of armyworms (Spodoptera litura). This type of research is an experiment with the design used is a completely randomized design (CRD) which consists of five treatments and five replications. The treatments were P0 with a concentration of 0%, P1 with a concentration of 10%, P2 with a concentration of 20%, P3 with a concentration of 30%, and P4 with a concentration of 40%. Based on the One Way Anova Test with a significance level of 5%, it shows significant results, F count (52.92)> F table (2.87). Followed by the Duncan test, the results showed that the concentration of 40% was significantly different from the concentrations of 0%, 10%, 20% and 30%. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of amethyst seeds (Datura metel) on the death of armyworms (Spodoptera litura), especially at a concentration of 40%. Abstract

This study aims to describe the communication and cognitive argumentation ability of Biology Education students of FKIP Universitas Pasundan Bandung through the application of guided inkuiri model based on Lesson Study on animal ecology concept material. This research is a qualitative descriptive research with biology research subjects as many as 30 people who are attending animal ecology courses in the third semester. Implementation of Class Action Research (RAK) based on lesson study is carried out in 2 cycles, using a guided inkuiri model. Data can be through analysis of the process of activities directly by observers through the filling of student activity sheets for 4 meetings and written tests at the end of the cycle. As a result of the study, in the first phase of writing communication proficiency by 72.3% and the second cycle phase by 85.8%, and for oral in the first cycle phase of 57.8%, and in the second cycle phase by 85.8%. Student cognitive learning outcomes increased significantly by 15.7%, from the first phase of the cycle, with an average score of 60, and the second cycle phase by 72.7%. In conclusion, the ability to argue student communication in the learning process of animal ecology is considered still lacking, but through the application of a guided inkuiri model based on Lesson Study on the concept of animal ecology there is an increase in communication skills both written and oral, as well as the cognitive ability of students to improve. Abstract

University of Bengkulu is a communal area located on the west coast of Sumatra. The main water sources to support activities at UNIB come from shallow wells (dug) and deep wells (drilled). This study aims to analyze the physical and chemical parameters of dug and bore water wells in the environment of UNIB’s campus. Water quality testing for dug and bore wells includes several treatments. Water quality analysis using the Indonesian National Standard method. The results of water quality testing for dug and bore wells founded several physical and chemical parameters exceeding Class II water quality standards. The results of the testing of the quality of water in the TSS 1 dug well had exceeded the quality standard. The results of testing the quality of dug wells 1, 2, 3 and 4 pH and phosphate parameters had exceeded the quality standard. The results of testing the quality of dug 2 meter wells dug DHL had exceeded the quality standard. The results of the testing of the quality of water in a borehole 1 phosphate parameter had exceeded the quality standard. The results of water quality testing for boreholes 2 and 3 Fe parameters had exceeded the quality standard. Dug and bore well water sources in the UNIB environment can be used for drinking water, drinking freshwater fish, livestock, irrigating crops, and / or other purposes that require the same water quality as these uses. Abstract

The development of high school biology contextual teaching materials on biodiversity materials based on local potential in the Kuala Langsa mangrove forest aims to learn concepts in accordance with real environmental conditions, so that it will strengthen students' understanding of concepts and student interests. This research method is Research and Development (R&D), using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluations). This research instrument uses a validation questionnaire of experts, practitioners and respondents' trials. The results of the validation by the teaching material expert validator amounted to 81.70% the category was very good and the qualifications were not revised. The practitioner validator was 83.3% in the excellent category and the qualifications of teaching materials were not revised. The results of the test of respondents in class X of SMA 4 Muhammadiyah Langsa obtained 80.28% achievement in the very good category. Based on the research, it was concluded that the development of contextual high scholl biology teaching materials based on the local potential of mangrove forest is suitable for use as biology teaching materials at SMA 4 Muhammadiyah Langsa on biodiversity material.
