Komposisi: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra, dan Seni is an international journal dedicated for the publication of scientific articles in language education, literature, and arts education. It was firstly published on March 2000 with ISSN 1411-3732 in 2007 by Faculty of Language Literature and Arts Universitas Negeri Padang. This journal had ever been changed into Jurnal Bahasa dan Seni during 2004-2013. In 2014 this journal is renamed as Komposisi: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra, dan Seni applies open journal system (OJS) and peer-reviewed online journal in 2017 with Online ISSN 2548-9097.

This paper reveals a comparisons between magic spells / charms as one of Minangkabau spoken Literature and the poetries of Sutardji Calzoum Bachri. The theory of comparative literature is used to reveal the comparison. Thus, the aspects compared are the structure and Moslem’s religious values found in Minangkabau’s magic spells with Sutardji Calzoum Bachri’s poetries. In fact, both magic spells of Minangkabau spoken Literature and the poetries of Sturdji Calzoum Bachri’s have many things in common. First, structurally both genres contains similar element of sound, diction and language style. Through the analyses of diction and theme it is found that both the Minangkabau magic spells and the poems of Sutardji Calzoum reflects the Moslem’s value and ideology. Kajian Terhadap Landasan Filosofi Pantun Minangkabau Erizal Gani

The purpose of this research is to reveal (1) the nature of Minangkabau quatrains, (2) fundamental philosophy of Minangkabau quatrains and (3) the functions of Minangkabau quatrains. This research is uses the descriptive qualitative design. The results of the research show that (1) Minangkabau quatrains use Minangkabau language as means of communication, follow the philosophy of “from, by and for” Minangkabau society which are inspired from things related to Minangkabau and its thinking pattern and come from Minangkabau society, (2) the fundamental philosophy of Minangkabau quatrains is “alam takambang jadi guru”, (3) Minangkabau quatrains have some multifunctions for the life of the Minangkabau society. Ada tiga alasan utama mengapa mendengar berita dapat menjadi kegiatan alternatif dalam belajar Listening. Pertama, disamping mendapatkan kemampuan menyimak, mahasiswa juga mendapatkan berita terbaru sesuai dengan topik yang mereka senangi. Kedua, mahasiswa dapat menerapkan beberapa jenis keahlian mendengar melalui berita. Ketiga, makna yang terkandung dalam berita dapat dipahami dengan mudah melalui pertanyaan 5 Ws dan 1 H. Berita dapat digunakan di kelas Listening melalui tiga tahap yaitu: persiapan, pelaksanaan dan penilaian. Kata kunci: menyimak (listening), berita (news story)

This paper analyses the characters involvde in “Semar Guga Play” in relation to the plot of the story. Thus, the analysis of character (s) in a drama text (script) cannot be separated from the analysis of the element of plot of the story. In other words both elements – characters and plot – support each other. The research method is qualitative design in which data is analyzed inductive and descriptively. Furthermore, the analysis of setting is also inseparable with the elementsof plot and character. In conclusion “Semar Gugat” does not only criticize phenomena of social condition, but also deconstructs the Javanese’s view towards Semar and Arjuna" wayang. The study of the music phenomenon has long been an important discussion due to its role in upholding the accretion of the history of literature of the world of music. Among the two poles music’s idealism, which is between European and American, they both have different opinion about multiculturalism. The multiculturalism in the Europe is the unification of the music culture with the lowest integrity level between the music cultures which possibly experience the multicultural process. It means, with the music culture base which just established like music classic, so that the multicultural process will cannot be seen easily from the music which recommended, because its interference usually dissolved is the music substance which intrinsically used, at rhythmic, melodies, form and others. Meanwhile the multiculturalism phenomenon in the America will offers the explicit structures, which accurately occurs the powerful and influential multiculturalism process. This thing also based on the heterogeneous America’s people as the interference of many cultures by means of the difference music. The multiculturalism music in America also develop faster because in its accretion it influence with the political period and the crime-infested unsafe makes the countries which moves to America feels that they the same. So, it is not surprise if the performance of the African-American music or the America’s World Music will demonstrate the music multiculturalism process which actual and has been growth for a long time. Instrumen Musik Talempong Minangkabau dalam Kajian Organologis Syeilendra Syeilendra

The purpose of this study is to make a description and a documentation of the manufacturing process from the beginning to the end. A traditional technique that has been integrated in creators’ habit is used in the manufacturing. According to the technique, the manufacturing is done in a workshop by using uncomplicated tools. The descriptive analysis method was apllied in this qualitive research. The main problem was analyzed systematically, factually, accurately, and originally through itemized thinking process of literature reviews, observation, recordings, photographies, an type predetermination, human role as a research instrumen, exploration, interview, and diary note. In the manufacturing, the black clay mixed with husk and red clay is grinded. The main materials are brass or copper (Cu), tin (Sn), and iron (Fe). The manufacturing process is begun by making a talempong lilin (waxed talempong) as a model, bandaging the talempong lilin with the mixed-clay to make a talempong tanah moulder, and foundrying the alloy. Then, the mauder is burned to extract the wax and in sequence the alloy is poured in. Finally, the moulder is destroyed and talempong is produced. After cleansing, flattening, filing, grinding, and polishing, talempong is ready to purchase. The are three kinds of talempong in size: (1) big; (2) medium; and (3) small. Talempong is fitted in a traditional way by stroking the outside part to fit up the tone or stroking the inside part to fit down the tone. Keyword: instrument music; talempong, minangkabau
