Komposisi: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra, dan Seni is an international journal dedicated for the publication of scientific articles in language education, literature, and arts education. It was firstly published on March 2000 with ISSN 1411-3732 in 2007 by Faculty of Language Literature and Arts Universitas Negeri Padang. This journal had ever been changed into Jurnal Bahasa dan Seni during 2004-2013. In 2014 this journal is renamed as Komposisi: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra, dan Seni applies open journal system (OJS) and peer-reviewed online journal in 2017 with Online ISSN 2548-9097.

Abstract

Demonstrative pronouns in Minangkabau language consist of demonstrative pronouns and adverbs of place. Demonstrative pronouns consist of demonstrative pronoun that refers to reference that is near to the speaker or writer and demonstrative pronoun that refers to a reference that is far from the speaker. Adverbs of place also consist of adverbs of place indicating the place close to the speaker and adverbs of place indicating the place far from the speaker. Abstract

The wise proper efforts to preserve the local wisdom of Minangkabau culture in West Sumatra are through offering the Minangkabau natural culture as a local content subject in schools. This subject has been taught for almost twenty years. However, the results of teaching this subject do not meet the expectation. To make this subject as a way to preserve the local wisdom, the stake holders should have the strong commitment in improving the teaching and learning process through providing the learning equipments that are relevant with the advance of technology, preparing professional teachers, proving good examples from both parents and society, and teaching and using Minangkabau language as the learning materials and the medium of istruction in the process of teaching and learning Keywords: Minangkabau Culture, Local Wisdom. Abstract

This research constitutes the application of learning throught game model while learning science with the topic of floating and drowning objects in an effort to develop the process skills of the learners in kindergarten. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the model of playing game while learning applied in learning sciences can develop process skills of kindergarten students, which include observing, classifying, and communicating the results of the experiment. This classroom action research consisted of two cycles and each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The data were obtained through documentation, observation, and tests. The data were analyzed by using the percentage of learning mastery. The result of research shows that the model of playing game while learning science can improve the process skills of the learners. Then other researchers are suggested to conduct further research with varied learning scenarios and evaluation systems. Key words: playing game, learning science, kindergarten, learning throught game

Abstract

perdebatan mengenai metode terbaik untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajaran bahasa, terutama di dalam konteks bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa kedua dan bahasa asing, telah berlangsung selama sekitar empat puluh tahun. Kelompok pertama adalah pendukung metode pengajaran bahasa yang berfokus pada bentuk, sedangkan kelompok kedua adalah mereka yang mendukung metode yang berfokus pada fungsi. Dalam praktik pembelajaran, metode yang berfokus pada bentuk (form-focused) memandang pembelajaran gramatika dan semua aturannya sebagai syarat mutlak, sedangkan metode yang berfokus pada fungsi (function-focused) percaya bahwa pemerolehan keterampilan komunikatif yang baik dalam bahasa target adalah tujuan akhir dalam pembelajaran bahasa kedua. Kedua belah pihak mengklaim bahwa metode yang mereka gunakan dalam praktik pembelajaran sebagai cara terbaik untuk membuat peserta didik memperoleh bahasa target dengan baik. Terlepas dari keuntungan yang ditawarkan oleh masing-masing metode, beberapa peneliti  menemukan bahwa setiap metode sebenarnya tidak bebas dari kelemahan. Dengan menyadari kelemahan dari setiap metode, tampaknya rasional untuk tidak berdiri di satu metode saja dalam praktik pembelajaran bahasa. Mungkin dengan menggabungkan dua metode dalam praktik pembelajaran, guru bahasa akan mendapatkan keuntungan dan menghilangkan kelemahan yang dimiliki oleh masing-masing metode. Sebuah metode baru dapat dibentuk dengan menerapkan pembelajaran formal dalam kegiatan komunikatif . Kata kunci: pembelajaran bahasa, metode berfokus pada bentuk, metode berfokus pada fungsi

Abstract

This study aims to determine the contribution of semantic mastery to the ability of the Archives, Library and Information Science (IIPK) students in comprehending the reading texts. The result of this study indicates that the semantic mastery has a positive and significant relationship (with a coefficient of determination of 0.524). This means that the reading comprehension of IIPK students of UNP is 25.4% determined by mastery of semantics, and the remaining 74.6% is determined by other factors. Abstract

Every country in the world has its own culture that characterizes each nation. One of the cultures of every nation is the way to have the social interaction through verbal and non-verbal communication. Verbal communication can be in forms of greetings and so forth, while the non-verbal communication can be signaled by using the scattering; wave of the hand, eye blink, bow weight and so forth. Abstract

This paper focuses on two phenomena, namely Indonesian language behavior and its perspectives in the globalization problems. Referring to the language behavior of Indonesian users, this paper discusses the behavior of the teachers and students in thinking, being, doing and acting in the perspective of globalization. In this regard the author has examined some of the problems faced by teachers and language learners based on experience and discussions with students and through reading the articles written by the observers of Indonesian language. The awareness on Indonesian language behaviors is needed to be actualized in a more contextual issue with creative solutions through interpretation and reinterpretation as well as the logical explanation, so that language behavior is more prospective in dealing with globalization. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat taksonomi kesalahan gramatikal yang dibuat oleh mahasiswa di dalam menulis esei bahasa Inggris. Dua puluh esei yang dikerjakan mahasiswa baru  sebagai tugas mata kuliah Writing dijadikan sebagai sumber data penelitian. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat lima belas kelompok kesalahan gramatikal yang dibuat mahasiswa. Lima kelompok utama adalah kesalahan dalam pemilihan kata, kelompok verba, artikel,preposisi, pluralitas, dan ejaan, sedangkan kesalahan tata bahasa lain adalah kesesuaian subjek dan verba, susunan kata dalam kalimat, kesesuaian pronomina, penghilangan pronomina, penggunaan pronomina relativa, kopula, penanda kepunyaan, dan mekanik. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, guru disarankan agar melakukan pengajaran yang lebih eksplisit tentang aspek gramatikal yang bermasalah tersebut. Di samping itu, guru juga perlu melakukan replikasi untuk melihat taksonomi kesalahan gramatikal yang dibuat oleh mahasiswa yang diajarnya. Abstract

This article aims to explain the role of appreciation activities in stimulating students’ creativity in learning the dance art in Junior High School (SMPN) 1 Banuhampu. The appreciation activities are capable of stimulating students to create ideas in performing the moving techniques. In addition, the appreciation activities are able to stimulate students to perform the local dances with a variety of styles. Appreciation activities are displayed by the visual presentation of a variety of local dance performances and a variety of local dance music accompaniment in the audio forms, as well as taking students to the cultural centers such as the Center for West Sumatra Culture (Taman Budaya Sumbar).
