Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the factors of politeness marker at expression of demand in the Minangkabau language in Bungo pasang area, Pesisir Selatan Regency of West Sumatra. Today the use of kato nan ampek in the expression of demand has begun to fade along with the times and technology. Linguistically, the expression of demand is reflected through (1) the length of speech, and (2) the use of non-imperative sentences. The object of this study was the Bungo Pasang community in the South Coastal District of 40-60 years who have a maximum junior high school education, with respondents who have the perfect utterance. The research method was descriptive qualitative that produces descriptive data in the form of written or verbal words from the respondents who were observed and interviewed. The results of this study are factors that determine politeness in demand; (a) implementation of performance, (2) variation of speech, and (3) completeness of speech. Then the politeness of demand in the Minangkabau language is manifested in (Lii) pragmatics and suprasegmental aspects, and kinesik. linguistic elegance is characterized by the use of the word help, and the use of the appropriate greeting.The purpose of this study was to describe the factors of politeness marker at expression of demand in the Minangkabau language in Bungo pasang area, Pesisir Selatan Regency of West Sumatra. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan kesalahan berbahasa pada bidang sintaksis dalam menulis teks biografi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 7 Padang dan (2) mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan analisis bentuk kesalahan berbahasa pada bidang sintaksis dalam menulis teks biografi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 7 Padang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah teks biografi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 7 Padang. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian adalah observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumen. Hasil penelitian mengenai analisis kesalahan berbahasa pada bidang sintaksis dalam menulis teks biografi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 7 Padang dapat dibagi menjadi tiga aspek (1) kalimat ambigu, (2) diksi yang tidak tepat dalam membentuk kalimat, dan (3) logika kalimat.Kata Kunci. Abstract

Discourse analysis on Tempo online media. Co about PILPERS 2019 where a group or person is marginalized in the discourse. The purpose of this study is to describe the use of inclusion theory on political news and see the journalists' impartiality in the 2019 election in Tempo.co online news media. Data collection is done through three stages, (1) reading and understanding the discourse on Tempo's online mass media political news. The May 2019 edition of the Co with the aim of obtaining a clear understanding of the content of the discourse to be studied, (2) marking parts of discourse related to Leeuwen's inclusioan theory, and (3) inventorying sentences in discourses related to Leeuwen's inclusioan theory by sorting and grouping data. Analyzing data is done descriptively. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded, Leeuwen's inclusioan theory was found in eight Tempo mass media online news media. The May 2019 edition of Co consists of five of the seven existing theories, namely objectivity, nominations, nominations, identification, assimilation-individualization, and association-dissociation. Of the five Leeuwen inclusioan theories found there were 66 sentences containing Leeuwen's inclusioan theory. So, it can be concluded that in writing news about criminal journalists marginalizing victims. Journalists side with actors or actors. This can be seen from the way the journalists clearly portray the perpetrators and victims.

Abstract

ABSTRACT There are three aims of this study. First, describe the skills of reading comprehention of VII grade students at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. Second, describe the writing skills of the report observation text of VII grade students at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehention with the writing skills of the report observation text of VII grade students at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. The  type of this research is quantitative in terms of descriptive methods. The design used in this study is correlational design. The population of this study was the seventh grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 Padang which was registered in the 2018/2019 school year, it was 192 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 20% of the population, namely 36 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the skills test results of reading comprehention and scores on the results of the test writing skills of the report observation text. The instrument of this study is an objective test to measure reading comprehention skills and performance tests to measure report observation text writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, the skills to write report observation texts of  VII grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 Padang is in accordance with the Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 82,99. Second, the skill of reading comprehention of VII grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 Padang in accordance with Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 81,42. Third, there is a significant correlation betwen reading comprehention skills and report observation text writing skills of VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang on n-1 freedom degrees and 95% significant level. H0 is reject and H1is accepted because the tcount is greater than ttable (13,59 > 2,68).  Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Laporan Hasil Observasi.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is threefold, namely (1) the effectiveness of the sentence in the exposition essay of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya in terms of sentence structure, (2) choice of words, and (3) spelling use. The type of research used is qualitative research using descriptive methods. Data of research is the results of identification of sentence ineffectiveness used in essays of exposition and sourced from the object of research. The technique of validating the data used is the thick description technique. Data were analyzed using simple statistical descriptive techniques and qualitative analysis using formats. Of 264 sentences used as research data, there were 47 effective sentences and 199 sentences were not effective. This means that there is still a lack of understanding of VII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya about effective sentences in exposition essays. The ineffectiveness of these 46 sentences is because they do not meet one or more of the indicators used in this study. Second, 42 sentences are not effective in terms of sentence structure. this is because one element is incomplete. Third, 125 sentences are not effective in terms of the use of word choices. This is due to inappropriate choice of words. Fourth, 97 sentences are not effective in terms of spelling usage. 48 sentences on the inaccuracy of the use of capital letters, 5 sentences on the inaccuracy of the use of dots, and 44 sentences on the inaccuracy of using commas.  Kata kunci: Keefektifan, Kalimat, Teks Eksposisi

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was categorized into three. First, to describe the effective sentence mastery of the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang. Second, to describe the writing skills of a exposition of the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang. Third, to describe the contribution of the effective sentence mastery into the writing skills of a exposition text made by the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang. The design of this research was quantitative with a descriptive method. Then, this study also was a correlational design. The population of this study was the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang for about 498 students. The sample of this study was taken by using a proportional random sampling technique (15%), which was 70 students. The data of this study were the results of effective sentence mastery and the results of the writing skill of a exposition text. The instrument of this study was an objective test to measure effective sentence mastery and performance tests to measure expositon text. There were several results of this study. First, the effective sentence mastery of the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang was in Good qualifications (B). Second, the writing skills of a exposition of the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang was in a Good qualification (B). Third, describe the effective sentence mastery contributed 82,00% to the exposition text writing skills of the first year students of SMK Negeri 2 Padang. Kata Kunci: kontribusi, penguasaan kalimat efektif,  keterampilan menulis teks eksposisi

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study had three proposes. First, describing the students’ understanding of short story of eleventh grade students of SMAN 2 Batang Anai. Second, describing the students’ writing ability of short story. Third, describing the correlation between students’ understanding short story and their writing ability of short story of eleventh grade students of SMAN 2 Batang Anai. The type of this research was quantitative with descriptive method. The design used in this study was correlational design. The population of this study was the eleventh grade students of SMAN 2 Batang Anai academic year 2018/2019, which was 195 students. The sample in this study was determined by propotional random sampling of 20% of participation, which is 40 students. The results of this study were devided into  three. First, the ability to understand the short story text of eleventh grade students of SMAN 2 Batang Anai was in accordance with good qualifications (B). Second, the students’ writing ability of eleventh grade students of SMAN 2 Batang Anai in accordance with the qualifications weremore than enough (LdC). Third, there was a correlation between students’ understanding short story and their writing ability of short story of eleventh grade students of SMAN 2 Batang Anai with a degree of freedom n-1 at the level of 95% confidence. Tcount (4.50) was biggerthan t table (1.68), that was tcount> t table (4.50> 1.68) thus H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted because the test results prove that tcount was bigger than t table. Kata Kunci: korelasi, keterampian memahami teks cerpen , menulis teks cerpen

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describe comprehension reading skills. Second, describe explanatory text writing skills. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehension skills with explanatory text writing skills of class XI students of SMA Adabiah Padang. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design of this study is correlational design. The study population was registered in 2018/2019, which is 287 students. The research sample was proportional random sampling of 20% of the population of 57 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the results of comprehension reading skills tests and scores on the results of explanatory text writing skills. The instrument of this study was an objective test to measure comprehension reading skills and performance tests to measure writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, reading comprehension skills of class XI students of SMA Adabiah Padang are of good qualification (B). Second, explanatory text writing skills of class XI students of SMA Adabiah Padang are of good qualification (B). Third, there is a correlation of reading comprehension skills with explanatory text writing skills with n-1 freedom degrees at the 95% confidence level. The value of tcount (38.54) is greater than t table (1.66) that is tcount> ttable (38.54> 1.68) thus H0 is rejected and H1. Based on the results of these studies it was concluded that reading comprehension skills correlated with explanatory text writing skills.  Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Eksplanasi.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describing reading skills understanding the text description of class VII students of SMP Negeri 33 Padang. Second, describe the writing skills of description text for class VII students of SMP Negeri 33 Padang. Third, describe the correlation of reading text description understanding with writing text description skills of class VII students of SMP Negeri 33 Padang. The population of this study was seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 33 Padang who were registered in the 2018/2019 school year with 192 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, which is 48 students. Based on data analysis and discussion, three research results are obtained as follows. First, reading skills understanding the text description of class VII students of SMP Negeri 33 Padang in good qualifications. This can be seen from the acquisition of a calculated average of 81.35. Second, the writing text description skills of class VII students of SMP Negeri 33 Padang are in good qualification. This can be seen from the acquisition of a calculated average of 77.15. Third, there is a significant correlation between reading skills in the description of text description and writing text description skills of class VII students of SMP Negeri 33 Padang in the n-1 freedom degree and 95% significant level. H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted because the test results prove that the tcount is greater than t table, namely (4.51> 1.68). Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Deskripsi

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article was written to describe the directive speech actions and speech strategies of Indonesian language teachers in class VII SMP Negeri 31 Padang. This research is qualitative with descriptive method. The sample of this study was grade VII students of SMP Negeri 31 Padang. The data of this research is the form of directive speech acts, speaking strategies and the context of the speaking of Indonesian language teachers in SMP Negeri 31 Padang in the 2018/2019 school year. The source of the research data is the speech of one Indonesian language teacher who teaches in class VII SMP Negeri 31 Padang. This research was conducted at the first meeting of the odd semester, for two meetings in the ongoing learning process.Based on the results of research and conclusions, it is suggested that the following things are suggested. (1) Directive speech acts and speech strategies of Indonesian subject teachers need to be developed, (2) Teachers are expected to use varied and good speech strategies to get the desired learning outcomes, (3) Teachers are expected to be able to use various examples of directive speech acts and appropriate speech strategies so that the process of speaking strategies that vary and discussion activities in the classroom become fun, and (4) the teacher is expected to be able to attract the attention of students in order to obtain a good learning process. Kata kunci: Tindak Tutur, Tindak Tutur Direktif, Strategi Bertutur
