Abstract

The problem of stunting is what illustrates the existence of chronic nutritional problems directly affecting health. Stunting in adolescents leads to decreased reproduction, increased risk of obesity, reduced concentration of learning, and degenerative diseases in the future. Adolescents need to obtain access to information and education about stunting. The purpose of this study analyzed the direct and indirect effect of knowledge factors and activity patterns of stunting in adolescents through nutritional patterns. This study was an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design. The number of samples were 380 adolescents aged 10-15 years. The analysis of this study used path analysis. The results of this study showed that the activity pattern had a positive and significant effect directly on the incidence of stunting with a value of p = 0.048 and knowledge had a negative and significant effect directly on the incidence of stunting with a value of p=0.000. Furthermore, the activity patterns also have an indirect positive effect on the incidence of stunting through nutritional patterns, while knowledge has an indirect negative effect on the incidence of stunting through nutritional patterns. This showed that knowledge is the most influencing factor on the incidence of stunting in adolescents through nutritional patterns with a total value of the indirect effect of 1.27.

Dangerous waste management is one of the most serious problems in health facilities because a medical waste, especially infectious waste, is very potential in transmitting infectious diseases either through direct or indirect contact through environmental media. The purpose of this study was to analyze dangerous and toxic waste management based on Permenkes No. 7/2019 and Ministry of Environment and Forestry at the West Nusa Tenggara Hospital during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. The research design was descriptive qualitative. The data was taken by using the purposive sampling technique, the informants were selected by snowball sampling. The container stage uses yellow plastic, the transportation of covid and infectious B3 waste uses a yellow trolley and the waste transport officer is a cleaning service. Storage of dangerous and toxic waste and covid waste in temporary shelters every other day, if the weather does not support the transportation process for a maximum of one week, treatment of infectious waste and covid waste is carried out by PT PRIA as a third party. The hospital periodically controls related to the implementation of the container, transportation, and storage so that it is always following the applicable of Standard Operation Procedure.

Abstract

Tinea Pedis is a fungal infection that usually begins between the toes. It commonly occurs in people whose feet have become very sweaty while confined within tightfitting shoes. It often attacks adults who work in wet places such as washers, farmers or people who have to wear closed shoes every day, such as scavengers. The purpose of this study was to examine the causality of the incidence of Tinea pedis in scavengers at the Final Disposal Site (TPA) of Jatibarang, Semarang in 2018. This study was done using a type of quantitative research supported by qualitative data obtained from interviews, with a cross sectional approach. The sample used in this study were 78 respondents obtained by using simple random sampling technique. The data collection techniques were done by using interview, observation, and documentation (diagnostic report sheet of a dermatologist). The data analysis in this study was done using Descriptive Statistics, Chi Square and Multiple Logistics Regression tests. The results showed that there was an effect of changing socks used for work (p=0.000), the practice of washing and drying feet after work (p=0.000), the practice of washing shoes after being worn to work (p=0.000), individual characteristics (age (p=0.031), gender (p=0.046), education (p=0.024) and working period  (p=0.020) on the incidence of Tinea pedis among scavengers at the Final Disposal Site (TPA) Jatibarang, Semarang in 2018. The results of the logistic regression showed that the most dominant factors for causing the incidence of Tinea pedis on scavengers at the Final Disposal Site (TPA) Jatibarang, Semarang in 2018 is the practice of washing shoes after being used to work with an adjusted OR or Exp (B) = 45.179. It is expected that the results of this study able to increase the knowledge of scavengers about the risks of work, especially skin disease of Tinea pedis.

Abstract

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) remain a challenge and public health problem in the world. The biggest obstacle to encounter HIV and AIDS is stigma and discrimination. Citizens Who Care about AIDS (WPA) is a form of community participation in mobilizing the society to be involved in HIV-AIDS prevention and control. Data from the AIDS Prevention Commission (KPA) Semarang City shows that most WPA do not have work programs and have not carried out administrative activities, therefore making it difficult for KPA to conduct monitoring and evaluation. The purpose of this study was to analyze predisposing factors (age, gender, marital status, occupation, educations, level of knowledge, stigma and discrimination), enabling factors (availability of health facilities, support for health services) and reinforcing factors (stakeholder support, regulation, social culture). This study used the Cross Sectional Study method. The research sample consisted of 100 people using the Proportional Stratified Random Sampling technique. The technique of collecting data by interview using a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test and logistic regression. The results showed that there was an effect of knowledge (p = 0.002), stigma of discrimination (p = 0.000), stakeholder support (p = 0.000), socio-culture (p = 0.016) on WPA performance. The most influential variable is stake holder support (p = 0.000. OR = 3.656). The involvement of stakeholder support is really needed for better WPA performance.

Abstract

Hypertension is a serious medical condition that can increase the risk of heart failure, chronic kidney disease, brain disease and others. Hypertension is a major risk factor for global death. Uncontrolled hypertension was defined as a measure of systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure ≥90 mmHg based on the mean of three measurements in hypertensive patients and with or without antihypertensive treatment. Chronic disease management (Prolanis) is a proactive and integrated program that involves participants, health facilities, especially health centers and the national health insurance called BPJS which aims to encourage patients with chronic diseases to achieve optimal quality of life. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors associated with the incidence of uncontrolled hypertension in Prolanis patients in Semarang City. This study used case control method. The research sample consisted of 148 respondents (74 cases and 74 controls) with a purposive sampling technique. The technique of collecting data by interview using a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square  test and logistic regression. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the variables of age (p = 0.003), education (p = 0.032), stress (p = 0.023) and cholesterol levels (p = 0.008) with the incidence of uncontrolled hypertension in Prolanis patients in Semarang City. The most related variable was age (p = 0.028. OR = 3.469). Increasing age related to risk factors for hypertension is supported by the presence of psychological problems such as stress, can be reduced by spiritual activity and the provision of health education about changes in the cardiovascular system and adaptation to lifestyle changes will be able to reduce uncontrolled hypertension factors.
