Abstract

Mathematic problems often become obstacles to the students of ICP (International Class Program) schools in Indonesia, including the elementary school level. They cannot understand sentences presented in mathematic problems because they have constraints in the mathematical vocabulary. To overcome this problem, this research under the experimental design conducted experiments on using Ezzlemath (English Puzzle for Mathematics) for assisting the students’ reading comprehension upon mathematic problems. By having fun in doing a puzzle and repeated words filled in the puzzle, the students of elementary school level of ICP design can have more exposure to mathematical vocabulary. The researchers involved 12 students of grade 5A as the experimental group and 17 students of grade 5B as the control group. The research results demonstrated that Ezzlemath gave significant effects to the students’ reading comprehension of mathematic problems.   Soal cerita Matematika sering menjadi kendala bagi siswa-siswi di sekolah-sekolah berdesign ICP (Internasional Class Program atau Program Kelas Internasional), termasuk pada level Sekolah Dasar (SD). Siswa-siswi tidak bisa memahami soal cerita Matematika karena mereka memiliki keterbatasan kosakata istilah-istilah Matematika dalam Bahasa Inggris. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, penelitian eksperimental ini menerapkan Ezzlemath (English Puzzle for mathematics atau Puzzle Matematika Berbahasa Inggris) untuk mempermudah pemahaman bacaan terhadap soal cerita Matematika. Dengan mengerjakan puzzle teka teki silang secara menyenangkan dan mengulang kata-kata dalam puzzle, maka siswa-siswi SD sekolah berdesign ICP dapat mengalami banyak exposure terhadap istilah Matematika berbahasa Inggris. Para peneliti melibatkan 12 murid kelas 5A sebagai kelas eksperimental dan 17 murid kelas 5B sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa Ezzlemath mampu memberikan efek signifikan terhadap kemampuan pemahaman bacaan siswa terhadap soal cerita Matematika berbahasa Inggris.

Abstract

Abstract: The Covid-19 pandemic requires IAIN Ambon to change lectures from face-to-face to online by implementing Learning Management Systems assisted by SEVIMA EdLink. This survey study aims to determine the perception of students of the Tadris IPA Study program of IAIN Ambon towards the application of the SEVIMA EdLink-assisted LMS in the odd semester lectures of the 2020/2021 academic year. A total of 34 students were given a questionnaire related to the implementation of the online lecture. The data from the questionnaires were then analyzed using a descriptive-quantitative percentage technique. The results of data analysis revealed that as many as, 1) 82.3% of students stated that the features on SEVIMA EdLink were easy to understand and use in supporting lectures; 2) 79.5% of students are satisfied with the application of SEVIMA EdLink in online lectures, and 3) 73.5% of students agree that the SEVIMA EdLink will continue to be applied to support online lectures. Some of the obstacles expressed by students were the limited internet network at their residence and the increased expenditure for purchasing internet packages, so it was hoped that the campus could program tuition subsidies in the form of assistance in purchasing internet packages.Keywords: LMS, SEVIMA EdLink, Online Lecture, Student Perception, Covid-19 Pandemic  Abstrak: Pandemi Covid-19 menuntut IAIN Ambon mengubah perkuliahan dari tatap muka menjadi daring dengan menerapkan Learning Management Systems (LMS) berbantuan SEVIMA EdLink. Penelitian survei ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa Prodi Tadris IPA IAIN Ambon terhadap penerapan LMS berbantuan SEVIMA EdLink pada perkuliahan semester ganjil Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021. Sebanyak 34 mahasiswa diberikan kuesioner terkait pelaksanaan perkuliahan daring tersebut. Data hasil pengisian kuesioner kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif-kuantitatif persentase. Hasil analisis data mengungkapkan bahwa sebanyak, 1) 82,3% mahasiswa menyatakan fitur pada SEVIMA EdLink mudah dipahami dan digunakan dalam menunjang perkuliahan; 2) 79,5% mahasiswa puas dengan penerapan SEVIMA EdLink dalam perkuliahan daring; dan 3) 73,5% mahasiswa setuju SEVIMA EdLink diterapkan seterusnya untuk menunjang perkuliahan daring. Beberapa kendala yang diungkapkan oleh mahasiswa yakni terbatasnya jaringan internet di tempat tinggalnya dan bertambahnya pengeluaran untuk pembelian paket internet, sehingga diharapkan pihak kampus dapat memprogramkan subsidi biaya perkuliahan dalam bentuk bantuan pembelian paket internet.Kata kunci: LMS, SEVIMA EdLink, Perkuliahan Daring, Persepsi Mahasiswa, Pandemi Covid-19

Abstract

Abstract: The goal of this research is to determine the best formulation in listening learning using the STAD type cooperative model. This research employs research and development (R&D) that has been adapted to the field settings. The results demonstrated that learning utilizing the STAD type cooperative model was beneficial in listening learning. The effectiveness can be seen by the rise in student learning outcomes after each implementation. The average score of students in the first application was 61.53, 74.04 in the second application, and 83.65 in the third application. Based on these findings, it is possible to infer that the STAD cooperative model is an effective method for teaching listening skills. As a result, it is hoped that instructors and policymakers will attempt this alternative model in an effort to improve students' listening skills, particularly high school pupils (high school) Keywords: Listening, STAD type cooperative model, research and development   Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari formulasi terbaik dalam pembelajaran menyimak melalui model kooperatif tipe STAD. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang dimodifikasi menyesuaikan kondisi di lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model kooperatif tipe STAD efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran menyimak. Kefektifan tersebut dapat dilihat dari peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dalam setiap pemberlakuan. Nilai rata-rata siswa pada pemberlakuan I adalah 61,53, 74,04 pada pemberlakuan II, dan 83,65 pada pemberlakuan III. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa model kooperatif tipe STAD efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran keterampilan menyimak. Oleh karena itu, diharapkan guru dan pengambil kebijakan perlu mencoba alternatif model tersebut sebagai upaya meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak, khususnya siswa sekolah menengah atas (SMA). Kata Kunci: Menyimak, model kooperatif tipe STAD, penelitian dan pengembangan

Abstract

During the pandemic, lectures that were originally conducted face-to-face switched to online, including learning the development of BIPA teaching materials based on the destination country. This change certainly brings several impacts that affect the lecture. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate learning. The evaluation used is the CIPP evaluation model. The CIPP evaluation model is known as formative evaluation with the aim of making decisions and improving the program. The purpose of this research is to find out how effective the online learning of developing BIPA teaching materials is based on the destination country. This research is an evaluative research that uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The data in this study are primary and secondary data. Data was collected by using interview and questionnaire techniques. Overall aspects of the evaluation of the CIPP model as a result of this study are 1.5% very ineffective, 16.15% ineffective, 55.52% effective and 26.35% very effective. From this percentage, it can be seen that this lecture has been effective, but there needs to be improvements and developments to make it better.

Abstract

AbstractEnglish listening skill is not an easy skill for engineering students who mostly are not fully supported by their surroundings. They just listened something in English from songs or film with Indonesian subtitle. Facing English Proficiency Listening test is a scourge for the students because they are not confident enough and having less knowledge on listening English materials. To encounter that problem, the lecturer implemented an intensive listening course to improve the listening score of non-English department students. There were three objectives of this study. They were (1) to describe the process and implementation of intensive listening course to improve the listening score of non-English department students; (2) to describe the students’ listening scores after the intensive listening course was implemented; (3) to describe the surveys to find out the students’ opinions about this program. The participants of this research were 129 students of mechanical and civil engineering departments. This research used descriptive quantitative research as methodology. The data was gathered from the observation, students’ tests, and survey. This research showed that the non-English department students were given five test opportunities to achieve 423 points (as minimum score). The English course had 12 meetings, in which two of those meetings were focused on listening skill. They had 3 times of tests and the test result showed unsatisfactory scores. From those three tests, most of the students were able to answer correctly around 9 to 15 numbers, whereas the questions were 50 numbers. To improve the score, the students were given an additional listening intensive course. The lecturer gave more explanation and exercises to the students and it could improve students’ score. Most of the students were able to answer correctly around 16 to 31 numbers.Keywords: Non-English Students, Intensive Listening Course, Students’ Listening skill, Listening Strategies. AbstrakKeterampilan mendengarkan bahasa Inggris bukanlah keterampilan yang mudah bagi mahasiswa teknik yang sebagian besar tidak sepenuhnya didukung oleh lingkungannya. Mereka hanya mendengarkan sesuatu dalam bahasa Inggris dari lagu atau film dengan subtitle bahasa Indonesia. Menghadapi Tes Kecakapan Bahasa Inggris Listening merupakan momok bagi para mahasiswa karena mereka tidak cukup percaya diri dan kurang memiliki pengetahuan tentang materi listening bahasa Inggris. Untuk menghadapi masalah itu, dosen menerapkan kursus mendengarkan intensif untuk meningkatkan skor mendengarkan mahasiswa non-bahasa Inggris. Ada tiga tujuan dari penelitian ini. Mereka adalah (1) mendeskripsikan proses dan pelaksanaan kursus menyimak intensif untuk meningkatkan skor menyimak mahasiswa non-bahasa Inggris; (2) mendeskripsikan skor menyimak siswa setelah mata kuliah menyimak intensif dilaksanakan; (3) untuk mendeskripsikan survei untuk mengetahui pendapat siswa tentang program ini. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah 129 mahasiswa jurusan teknik mesin dan sipil. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif sebagai metodologinya. Data dikumpulkan dari observasi, tes siswa, dan survei. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa non-Bahasa Inggris diberi lima kesempatan tes untuk mencapai 423 poin (sebagai nilai minimum). Kursus bahasa Inggris memiliki 12 pertemuan, di mana dua dari pertemuan tersebut berfokus pada keterampilan mendengarkan. Mereka menjalani 3 kali tes dan hasil tes menunjukkan nilai yang tidak memuaskan. Dari ketiga tes tersebut, sebagian besar siswa mampu menjawab dengan benar sekitar 9 sampai 15 angka, sedangkan soal sebanyak 50 angka. Untuk meningkatkan skor, para siswa diberi kursus intensif mendengarkan tambahan. Dosen lebih banyak memberikan penjelasan dan latihan kepada mahasiswa sehingga dapat meningkatkan nilai mahasiswa. Abstract

Abstract: The low level of activity and learning outcomes on flat-shaped materials requires an appropriate solution, especially elementary school mathematics learning that is currently taking place during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to increase the activity and learning outcomes of elementary school students on flat-shaped materials through the application of android educational game media. This media was created through the 1st and 2nd Math android application. The research method used is classroom action research with Kurt Lewin's model. This study lasted for two cycles with indicators of success, namely completeness of activities and student learning outcomes are at least 75% classically. The results showed that students' learning activities in the pre-cycle were 15% (less), the first cycle increased by 51.25%, and the second cycle was 82.75% (good). The increase in student learning outcomes in the pre-cycle was 41.25% (less), the first cycle increased by 66.75% (less), and the second cycle increased by 86% (good). Thus, the use of android educational game media improves elementary school students' activity and learning outcomes in flat-shaped material.Keywords: Activities, learning outcomes, educational game media, android technology Abstrak: Rendahnya aktivitas dan hasil belajar pada materi bangun datar membutuhkan suatu solusi yang tepat, terlebih pembelajaran matematika sekolah dasar yang dilakukan saat ini berlangsung selama masa pandemi covid-19. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa sekolah dasar pada materi bangun datar melalui penerapan media game edukasi android. Media ini dibuat melalui aplikasi android 1st and 2nd Math. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan model Kurt Lewin. Penelitian ini berlangsung selama 2 siklus dengan indicator keberhasilan yaitu ketuntasan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa berada minimal 75% secara klasikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aktifitas belajar siswa pada prasiklus sebesar 15% (kurang), siklus I meningkat sebesar 51,25%, dan siklus II sebesar 82,75% (baik). Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada prasiklus sebesar 41,25% (kurang), siklus 1 meningkat sebesar 66,75% (kurang), dan siklus II  meningkat sebesar 86% (baik). Dengan demikian, penerapan media game edukasi android meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar pada materi bangun datar siswa sekolah dasar.Kata Kunci: Aktivitas, hasil belajar, media game edukasi, teknologi andorid

Abstract

Abstract: The covid-19 pandemic has a very bad influence on education. For instance, the teaching and learning activities in the classroom can no longer be carried out. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find out the influence of COVID-19 pandemic on online learning carried out by the Economics Department, FKIP at University of HKBP Nommensen, Medan. This study is a qualitative research with the subjects of study are students of the Economics Department. Data collection techniques are observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The data validation technique uses source triangulation. The data analysis technique in this study implements content analysis which includes three activities, namely, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The conclusion of this study is that the online learning; during the covid-19 pandemic carried out by the Economic Department at the University of HKBP Nomensen Medan by utilizing internet media and learning applications that have been provided; has not been implemented properly or has not been optimal because there are several indicators that have not been fulfilled in which the indicator comes from students and lecturers. Keywords: covid-19 pandemic, online learning, Economics Department, University students  Abstrak: Pandemi covid-19 memberikan pengaruh sangat buruk terhadap pendidikan. Pengaruh buruk yang dapat dirasakan di dalam pendidikan ialah aktivitas belajar mengajar di dalam kelas kini tidak dapat lagi terlaksana. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah ingin mengetahui dampak pandemi covid-19 terhadap pembelajaran daring yang dilaksankan oleh Program Studi Ekonomi, FKIP Universitas HKBP Nommensen Medan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian mahasiswa Program Studi Ekonomi, FKIP Universitas HKBP Nommensen Medan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, angket, dan wawancara. Teknik validasi data menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan konten analisis yang mencakup tiga kegiatan, yaitu, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah proses pembelajaran daring selama pandemi covid-19 yang dilakukan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Ekonomi di universitas HKBP Nomensen Medan dengan memanfaatkan media internet dan aplikasi belajar yang sudah sediakan belum terlaksana dengan baik atau belum optimal karena ada beberapa indikator yang belum terpenuhi, baik itu indikator yang berasal dari mahasiswa maupun dosen. Kata Kunci: pandemi covid-19, pembelajaran daring, Program Studi Ekonomi, mahasiswa

Abstract

Phenomena that occur in Islamic boarding schools become the background for this research, that is the lack of responsiveness between individuals nor groups who prefer their handphone than to be with their friends. This research aims to determine the impact of handphone use and its effect on the social interaction of female students at Miftahul Huda IV Islamic Boarding School Mojosari Malang Regency. This research uses a quantitative approach, with survey methods, data collection techniques uses questionnaires and observations. The sampling technique used a total sample of 60 students. The results obtained from the research analysis show that the significance value is 0.000 which means less than the probability value of 0.05 and the value of 0.766 or the effect of using mobile phones on social interaction is 76%. That is, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which shows that there is a significant influence between the use of handphhone on the social interaction of female students at Miftahul Huda IV Islamic Boarding School Mojosari Malang Regency. The use of handphone in this research is at an intermediate level with a percentage of 43%. Social interaction in this research is at the intermediate level with a percentage of 45%. Fenomena yang terjadi di dalam pondok pesantren menjadi latar belakang penelitian ini, yaitu kurangnya responsif antar individu maupun kelompok yang lebih memilih dengan Handphonenya dari pada dengan teman-temannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak penggunaan handphone dan pengaruhnya terhadap interaksi sosial santri putri di Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Huda IV Mojosari Kabupaten Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan metode survei, teknik pengumpulan data berupa angket dan observasi. Teknik sampling menggunakan sampel total sejumlah 60 santri. Hasil yang diperoleh dari analisis penelitian menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 yang berarti kurang dari nilai probabilitas 0,05 dan nilai 0,766 atau pengaruh penggunaan Handphone terhadap interaksi sosial sebesar 76%. Artinya, Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, yang menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan antara penggunaan Handphone terhadap interaksi sosial santri putri di Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Huda IV Mojosari Kabupaten Malang. Penggunaan Handphone pada penelitian ini berada pada tingkat menengah dengan presentase 43%. Interaksi sosial pada penelitian ini berada pada tingkat menengah dengan presentase 45%.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to gather sufficient information about the development of comics as an effective learning medium. This research method is a literature study that collects some previous research to answer the development of comics as an effective learning medium. The results of this study show that comics are a very effective learning medium to increase student and student interest, motivation, activities, and learning outcomes. Comic learning media is a learning media favored by students. This can be seen from the research results of the previous articles which show that the response of students is very positive with the presence of comics as a learning medium. Keywords: Literature Study, Comic, Learning Media Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengumpulkan informasi yang cukup tentang pengembangan komik sebagai media pembelajaran yang efektif. Metode penelitian ini adalah studi literatur yang mengumpulkan beberapa penelitian sebelumnya untuk menjawab pengembangan komik sebagai media pembelajaran yang efektif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa komik adalah media pembelajaran  yang sangat efektif untuk meningkatkan  minat, motivasi, aktivitas, dan hasil belajar siswa serta mahasiswa. Media pembelajaran komik adalah media pembelajaran yang digemari peserta didik.
