Abstract

Dental and oral health are still matter that need serious attention because the biggest problem in society is caries with its prevalence. Public ignorance about dental plaque causes low behavior to maintain dental and oral health. Tooth brushing behavior in children aged 10-14 years is still very low when brushing their teeth at the right time. Interventions in schools that can be carried out to increase children's interest in tooth brushing behavior are through the Smart Book media called BUKPIN, which is a development of oral health education that is oriented to print media by displaying interesting information about dental health for children. Objective: to improve dental and oral health behavior and the degree of dental and oral health in elementary school students. The research was pre-experimental type with the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design and data collection involving 38 respondents by random sampling from class I–VI students at SD Negeri 5 Jambu, Mlonggo District, Jepara Regency. The results of dental health promotion with BUKPIN media that there was a significant (p-value < 0,005) increase in the aspects of knowledge (0.000), attitude (0.002) and action (0.000). Dental and oral health are influenced by behavioral factors of children's behavior in maintaining dental and oral health. Increased knowledge, attitudes, and actions after the BUKPIN Media intervention prove that oral health education which is oriented to print media by displaying interesting information about dental health has a good influence on dental health maintenance behavior in elementary school children.  The BUKPIN Media intervention as the development of dental and oral health education are effective in increasing tooth brushing behavior in elementary school children. Keywords: Oral Health, Elementary School Children, Smart Book Media

Abstract

APAR is a light tool that can be easily operated by one person to extinguish a fire when it starts. Based on data from the Central Java Karanganyar Province Central Statistics Agency, there were no fire cases in 2021. Based on the results of a preliminary study of respondents, there were cases of APAR canisters exploding. The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of the relationship between knowledge and the application of APAR. This research uses a quantitative research method with a cross sectional approach. The total population in this study was 120 people. The research sample consisted of 92 respondents. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. The data analysis technique uses the Chi-Square statistical test. The results of this research show that the majority of workers have a good level of knowledge and have appropriate applications as many as 40 people (43.5%), while knowledge is not good and have inappropriate applications as many as 17 people (18.5%). The results of the chi square statistical test analysis obtained p = 0.047 (p < 0.05), so there is a relationship between knowledge and the application of APAR in the production department. These results are supported by the RP value (95% CI) = 1.002 < 6.05. From the results above, it can be concluded that respondents who have appropriate APAR implementation are in the good knowledge category. This is reinforced by the respondents' knowledge increasing through socialization or training that can be applied while in the field. Conclusion: There is a relationship between knowledge and the application of APAR at PT. X. Suggestions for PT. X is expected to provide outreach and training on active fire protection. Keywords: APAR, fire, knowledge.

Abstract

The Covid 19 pandemic can cause several symptoms and even result in death. Especially for people with DM, Covid 19 tends to cause severe symptoms and other complications. Seeing the current conditions, many people are not familiar with and know about DM prevention, especially dietary management for DM sufferers during a pandemic. The aim of PPM is to increase the knowledge of the Babakan Sari Village community regarding dietary management for DM sufferers during a pandemic. The method of implementing PPM, starting from preparation to implementing health education, is carried out in a hybrid manner. Data analysis used paired samples T-test. The results of the activity showed that before health education was carried out, the average knowledge value was 75 and after it was carried out, it increased to 81.7 with a p-value of 0.00. The conclusion from this PPM is that increasing knowledge is a good start for the community in getting to know dietary management for people with DM. The implication of PPM is that it is hoped that the people who take part in this activity can also share information with the surrounding community, especially in the Babakan Sari urban village area, Bandung City and support and follow-up is needed from the Babakan Sari Health Center. Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus,  health education, diabetic diet, pandemic.

Abstract

Disaster preparedness is an important thing to accomplish. One way to improve preparedness behavior is through education. Preparedness Integration Education is an innovative educational method that integrates several methods and interactive media including the presentation of educational videos, focus group discussions (FGD) and simulations so that they become a series of disaster preparedness education procedures. The purpose of this activity is to improve community preparedness behavior in dealing with volcanic eruptions. This activity method is carried out in several stages including preparation, implementation and evaluation. The assessment instrument used a behavioral questionnaire that was guided by the five-parameter preparedness framework developed by LIPI in collaboration with UNESCO/ISDR in 2006. This activity was carried out using a nonequivalent pretest and posttest control group design involving 28 respondents from the community in each intervention group and control group who were taken using a non-probability sampling technique with the purposive sampling method. The intervention group was given preparedness integration education while the control group was given lecture method education. The data obtained were then analyzed using the Wilcoxon test and the Mann-Whitney test. This activity involved 28 respondents with an age range of 17-25 years. As for the evaluation of this activity, a quantitative analytic test was carried out with a non-equivalent one-group pretest and -posttest control group design with data on community behavior measurement in Dufa-dufa Village, North Ternate District. The evaluation results showed that people's behavior increased from 66.54% to 83.89% with p=0.000 after being given Preparedness Integration Education. Improved community behavior after being given Integrated Preparedness Education proves that disaster preparedness education that is oriented towards interactive media and sustainable methods where the educational information obtained can be directly practiced has a good influence on community preparedness behavior in dealing with volcanic eruptions. Based on these results it can be concluded that Preparedness Integration Education can improve community behavior regarding volcanic eruption preparedness. Keywords: Disaster, education, behavior.
