Abstract

Collins (1981) proposed evidence regarding the kinship of languages (ambelau, buru, sula and taliabo) and grouped them into middle-east Maluku group based on the qualitative evidence. However, the evidence is limited and not convincing. This article intends to explain Proto-Austronesian (PAN) reflexes to Sula language and their relation to Collins Hypothesis (1981) about the West-Central Maluku Subgroup. Field data collection has been carried out in the Sula Islands, especially Fatche isolates in the form of 200 basic vocabulary and 800 cultural vocabulary and Collins study (1981). The collected data was analyzed using a joint innovation top-down approach. The results showed that there was a regular and irregular change in PAN phonemes into Sula language. A PAN phoneme changes regularly and irregularly at once. PAN phonemes that undergo regular changes are * p, * t, * C, * k, * ʔ, * b, * d, * m, * n, * ŋ, * s, * S, * i, * a, * u, * ǝ * uy, and * ay, while those who do not experience regularly are * z, * j, * N, * h, * R, * r, and * w. PAN reflexes into Sula in some respects show a different pattern of change from the evidence put forward by Collins (1981). This does not mean negating Collins's (1981) hypothesis of the family tree of the group, but other relevant evidence needs to be identified. In addition, PAN's reflexes to Sula were found to be the same as Collins's (1981) proposed evidence of the historical relations of the West- Central Maluku Subgroup.

Abstract

This study aims to photograph the traditional process of making Minangkabau talempong from start to finish. Descriptive analysis methods are used in this qualitative study. The process of making is systematical, factual, accurate, and originally analyzed by thought in the light of library reviews, and journals. In the process of making it, black clay is mixed with chaff and milled red clay. The principal ingridients were brass or copper (Cu), tin (Sn), and iron (Fe). The process begins with the production of a wax talempong model, binding the wax talempong with a clay mixture to make a cast of talempong ground, and casting off its then casting, the matter is burned to extract the wax and is in a row sent out by interlaced. Eventually, the prints were destroyed and talempong produced. After cleaning, leveling, grinding, milling, and polished, talempong is ready. There are three varieties of talempong in size: (1) large; (2) moderate; and (3) small. The talempong is traditionally displayed by striking the outside to match the tone or striking the outside to match the tone.

MAKNA DIRI ALPHA FEMALE PADA PUSTAKAWAN PEREMPUAN:Membangun Citra Positif Perpustakaan Melalui Kiprah Pustakawan Perempuan Sebagai Alpha FemaleAbstractThe profession of librarians is often associated with women. This can be justified if we refer to data and research results that have been done in several countries. However, many women who work in the library, this does not necessarily describe that library work is a simple and easy job. However, on the contrary, work in the field of library is increasingly complex and demands the competence and mastery of information technology. Moreover, the expectations of some users who demand a fast and quality service. Therefore to answer this problem required a female librarian who has the competence, intelligent and able to become a leader for his group and can show the characteristics as a professional. As for the description of people like this people call it with the term alpha female. With the birth of alpha female figures among female librarians is expected to change the positive image of librarians and library institutions. This is because the female alpha figure in the female librarian is a figure of women who are considered "perfect" are still rare today.Keywords: library, librarian, symbolic interaction, alpha female. AbstrakProfesi pustakawan kerapkali dikaitkan dengan kaum perempuan. Hal ini dapat dibenarkan jika kita merujuk pada data dan hasil riset yang telah dilakukan di beberapa negara. Namun demikian banyaknya kaum perempuan yang bekerja di perpustakaan, ini tidak serta merta menggambarkan bahwa pekerjaaan perpustakaan merupakan pekerjaan yang sederhana dan mudah.  Namun justru sebaliknya pekerjaaan di bidang perpustakaan saat ini semakin kompleks dan menuntut kompetensi dan penguasaan teknologi informasi. Apalagi harapan sebagian pengguna yang menuntut suatu pelayanan ayang cepat dan berkualitas. Oleh karena demikian untuk menjawab permasalahan ini diperlukan sosok pustakawan perempuan yang memiliki kompetensi, cerdas serta mampu menjadi pemimpin bagi kelompoknya dan bisa menunjukkan ciri-ciri sebagai seorang profesional. Adapun gambaran orang seperti ini orang menyebutnya dengan istilah alpha female. Dengan lahirnya sosok alpha female di kalangan pustakawan perempuan diharapkan mampu merubah citra yang positif terhadap pustakawan dan lembaga perpustakaan. Hal ini dikarenakan sosok alpha female pada diri pustakawan perempuan  merupakan sosok wanita yang dianggap “sempurna” yang masih jarang ditemukan saat ini.Kata Kunci : perpustakaan,  pustakawan, interaksi simbolik,  alpha female.

Abstract

Sub'haaThe preparation of the artwork entitled "Subhaa", is inspired by the Minangkabau cultural phenomenon. This work focuses on the feelings of children who will be circumcised, the pressure and fear felt by the child who will be circumcised tilled in the form of Polymetrik art works. Circumcision or commonly called Basunaik by Minangkabau society is a Sunna that must be run boys of Islam; indirectly circumcision is also required for boys in Minangkabau. In the area of darek (mainland) khitan has its own ceremony, begins with a child who will be circumcised is brought to the bako house to change his clothes, then paraded around the village, after arriving at home circumcised will be held. In the evening there will be entertainment in the form of randai and bagurau saluang. This piece of music is in the form of a new composition. The performance focuses more on the composition of sound as a contextual meaning to be conveyed to the appreciator. This work is a little contrary to the aesthetics that have been awakened in the brain and soul of the arts in the Sendratasik Department of FBS Universitas Negeri Padang. But it cannot be denied that a new works will create its own aesthetic realm. Keywords: Basunaik, Artwork Music. Abstrak Penyusunan karya seni yang berjudul “Subhaa”, ini terinspirasi dari fenomena budaya Minangkabau. Karya ini menitik beratkan garapan pada perasaan anak yang akan dikhitan, tekanan dan ketakutan yang dirasakan oleh anak yang akan dikhitan digarap dalam bentuk penggarapan Polymetrik. Khitan atau biasa disebut Basunaik oleh masyarakat Minangkabau merupakan sunah yang harus dijalankan anak laki-laki Islam, secara tidak langsung khitan juga diwajibkan bagi anak laki-laki di Minangkabau. Di daerah darek (daratan) khitan memiliki upacara tersendiri, diawali dengan anak yang akan dikhitan dibawa ke rumah bako untuk mengganti baju, lalu diarak keliling kampung, setelah sampai di rumah baru diadakan khitan, malamnya diadakan hiburan berupa randai dan bagurau saluang. Karya musik ini berbentuk komposisi garapan baru. Penggarapan lebih menitik beratkan kepada penggarapan bunyi sebagai makna kontekstual yang akan disampaikan kepada apresiator. Karya ini memang sedikit bertolak belakang dengan estetika yang sudah terbangun dalam otak dan jiwa kalangan seni di jurusan pendidikan sendratasik FBS Universitas Negeri Padang. Namun tidak bisa dipungkiri sebuah karya garapan baru akan menciptakan ranah estetikanya sendiri.Kata Kunci: Basunaik, Karya seni Musik.

Abstract

REPRESENTASI POSKOLONIAL MASA PENJAJAHAN JEPANG  TAHUN 1942-1945 DALAM NOVEL PERBURUAN  KARYA PRAMOEDYA ANANTA TOERAbstractThis article is aimed to describe post-colonial forms which represented by the figures in the Pramoedya Ananta Toer’s novel Perburuan. This novel portrays about a character named Hardo who fought Japanese colonialism together with his two friends, Dipo and Karmin. However, their plan was failed to be implemented. It was making Hardo a Japanese fugitive. This novel is about the history of Japanese colonialism in Indonesia. Therefore, this novel can be studied with post-colonial theory. Type of this research is descriptive qualitative research using post-colonial approach. Researchers gathered the data by searching data in the novel that has relevance to the three formulations of the post-colonial theory that have been found. These three formulations include resistance, betrayal, and character’s self-doubt (ambivalence). The technique used in this article is content analysis. The research steps were determined the data source, collection the data, classification the data, and data analysis. Data analysis technique used was Miles and Huberman model that consists of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Through the representation of characters in the novel found the forms of resistance, betrayal, and characteristic’s self-doubts as forms of post-colonial representation.Key words : Representation, post-colonial analysis, novel          AbstrakArtikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk poskolonial yang direpresentasikan oleh tokoh-tokoh dalam novel Perburuan karya Pramoedya Ananta Toer. Novel Perburuan menggambarkan tentang kondisi penjajahan Jepang yang pernah terjadi di Indonesia antara tahun 1942-1945. Novel ini bercerita tentang seorang tokoh bernama Hardo yang melawan penjajahan Jepang bersama dua kawannya, Dipo dan Karmin. Namun, rencana tersebut gagal dilaksanakan sehingga menjadikan Hardo sebagai buronan Jepang. Novel ini mengandung sejarah penjajahan Jepang di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, novel ini dapat dikaji dengan teori poskolonial. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif bersifat deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan poskolonial. Cara kerjanya yaitu dengan mencari data dalam novel yang memiliki keterkaitan dengan tiga formulasi dari teori poskolonial yang telah ditemukan. Tiga formulasi tersebut meliputi usaha perlawanan, pengkhianatan, dan kebimbangan tokoh (ambivalensi). Teknik yang digunakan yaitu analisis isi. Langkah penelitiannya adalah menentukan sumber data, pengumpulan, pengklasifikasian, dan analisis data. Teknik analisis datanya menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang terdiri dari reduksi data, sajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Melalui representasi tokoh dalam novel tersebut ditemukan bentuk-bentu perlawanan, pengkhianatan, dan kebimbangan tokoh sebagai bentuk representasi poskolonial.Kata Kunci: Representasi, analisis poskolonial, novel

Abstract

EKRANISASI, DARI TRADISI TEKSTUAL KE SINEMA: KETIDAKSETIAAN TERHADAP NILAI-NILAI-NILAI DALAM SASTRA TULIS?AbstractEcranization is a wide-screening or transferring process of a novel into the movie. Ecranization can be a process of sifting or transferring or removing characteristics of a novel into a film.  This study is written descriptive-qualitatively based on data collected from the results of literature studies. The data include primary and secondary data. Primary data covers the novel of Ayat-Ayat Cinta published by PT Penerbit Republika-Basmala in 2005 which is also a material object, some quotes or dialogues in Ayat-Ayat Cinta (AAC) by Habiburahman El Shirazy and the AAC film directed by Hanung Bramantyo. The study found that despite the fact both the title of the film and the names of the main characters are the same as the novel, but the rides from novel to film have separated and distinguished the distinctive features of the media itself with their respective rides, novel vehicles and movie rides. We can neither expect the loyalty of a film to the novel as the source of the story because there will certainly occur changes following the nature of the media and their respective lovers. It is important to emphasize that in distinguishing how to enjoy two different mediums it is necessary to appreciate the works of literature to avoid disappointment because of the natural differences that must exist between the film and the novel.Keywords: Ayat-Ayat Cinta, difference, ecranization, film, novel, media AbstrakEkranisasi adalah proses pemutaran film layar lebar atau transfer sebuah karya novel ke dalam bentuk film. Ekranisasi merupakan proses penyaringan atau pemindahan karakteristik novel ke dalam sebuah film. Penelitian ini ditulis secara deskriptif-kualitatif berdasarkan data yang dikumpulkan dari hasil studi kepustakaan. Data meliputi data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer mencakup novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta yang diterbitkan oleh PT Penerbit Republika-Basmala pada tahun 2005 yang juga merupakan objek material, beberapa kutipan atau dialog dalam Ayat-Ayat Cinta (AAC) oleh Habiburahman El Shirazy dan film AAC yang disutradarai oleh Hanung Bramantyo. Kajian ini menemukan bahwa kendati judul film dan nama-nama tokoh utama dalam film AAC sama dengan novelnya, namun wahana dari novel ke film telah memisahkan dan membedakan ciri khas media itu sendiri dengan wahana masing-masing. Terkait wahana yang harus diciptakan, kita memang tidak bisa mengharapkan kesetiaan film terhadap novel sebagai sumber ceritanya, karena pasti akan terjadi perubahan mengikuti sifat media dan pecinta karya sastra film tersebut. Penting untuk ditekankan bahwa dalam membedakan bagaimana menikmati dua media yang berbeda tersebut diperlukan apresiasi terhadap karya-karya sastra untuk menghindari kekecewaan karena perbedaan alamiah yang harus ada antara film dan novel.Kata Kunci: Ayat-Ayat Cinta, perbedaan, ekranisasi, film, novel, media

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the rhetoric and masters of Minangkabau locality in the script of Sabai Nan Aluih tonic written by Sutan Sati. The type of this research is qualitative with descriptive method. The data in this study are words or phrases that can be formulated as rhetoric and masters of Minangkabau locality in the script of Sabai Nan Aluih written by Sutan Sati. The source of data in this study is the script tonil Sabai Nan Aluih written in Indonesian form by Sutan Sati written in 1960 with the publisher Balai Pustaka. In an introduction to the manuscript of Sabai Nan Aluih, Sutan Sati said that Minangkabau language can also be Indonesianized by not changing its language. Meanwhile, for people who do not know the language Minangkabaupun not lost meaning. That is, readers who are not of Minangkabau ethnic can also understand the language and contents of the story written in Minangkabau locality language. The language of Minangkabau locality in literary texts is utilized by the use of regional idioms or terminology, socio-cultural references related to certain locality, regional dialect, and non-formal language, regional expressions, including language styles.Keyword: rhetoric, figure of speech, locality, MinangkabauRETORIK DAN MAJAS LOKALITAS MINANGKABAU DALAM NASKAH TONIL SABAI NAN ALUIH KARYA SUTAN SATIAbstrakTulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan retorik dan majas lokalitas Minangkabau dalam naskah tonil Sabai Nan Aluih karya Sutan Sati. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah kata-kata atau kalimat yang dapat dirumuskan sebagai retorik dan majas lokalitas Minangkabau dalam naskah Sabai Nan Aluih karya Tulis Sutan Sati. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah naskah tonil Sabai Nan Aluih yang ditulis dalam bentuk bahasa Indonesia oleh Tulis Sutan Sati pada tahun 1960 dengan penerbit Balai Pustaka. Dalam sebuah pengantarnya pada naskah Sabai Nan Aluih, Sutan Sati mengatakan bahwa bahasa Minangkabau dapat juga diindonesiakan dengan tidak mengubah jalan bahasanya. Sementara itu, bagi orang yang tidak tahu berbahasa Minangkabaupun tidak hilang artinya. Artinya, pembaca yang bukan dari etnis Minangkabau dapat pula memahami bahasa dan isi cerita yang ditulis dengan bahasa lokalitas Minangkabau tersebut. Bahasa lokalitas Minangkabau dalam teks sastra didayagunakan dengan memanfaatkan idiom-idiom atau peristilahan kedaerahan, acuan-acuan sosial budaya yang terkait dengan lokalitas tertentu, dialek daerah, dan ragam bahasa nonformal, ungkapan-ungkapan kedaerahan, termasuk gaya bahasa.Kata kunci: retorik, majas, lokalitas, Minangkabau

Abstract

GAYA BAHASA LOKALITAS MINANGKABAU DALAM CARITO MINANG KINI KARANGAN HAKIMAH RAHMAH S. DI PADANG EKSPRESAbstractThe research aimed to describe the locality style of Minangkabau in anecdotal texts “Carito Minang Kini: Barinam jo Rosalina” by Hakimah Rahmah S. in Padang Ekspres (CMK: BJR), which includes rhetoric devices and figures of speech. The type of research is qualitative descriptive which applied content analysis method. The research data are words, phrases, clauses, or sentences that can be formulated as a locality style of Minangkabau. The data source of this research is anecdotal texts in CMK: BJR issued in January and February 2016 consisting of eight issues. The data analysis was conducted by: (1) classifying the locality style of Minangkabau found in a rhetorical assertion and figures of speech based on the theory, (2) analyzing the style according to the subcategory of rhetoric devices and figures of speech of Minangkabau locality style, (3) interpreting the trends of locality style of Minangkabau in texts CMK: BJR, and (4) concluding the study. The findings show that in the texts CMK: BJR there are: (1) the locality rhetoric devices which consist of: (a) confirmation in the form of climax, redundancy, and hyperbole and (b) disputes in the form of an antithesis; (2) the locality figures of speech that consist of (a) a comparison in the form of metaphor and allusion, and (b) satire in the form of sarcasm, cynicism and irony. Among the styles that were found, the dominant locality rhetoric device is affirmation in the form of hyperbole and the dominant figurative language style is satire in the form of sarcasm.Keywords: stylistic, rhetorical, figure of speech, Minangkabau locality AbstrakPenulisan makalah ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gaya bahasa lokalitas Minangkabau dalam teks-teks anekdot Carito Minang Kini: Barinam jo Rosalina karangan Hakimah Rahmah S di Padang Ekspres (CMK:BjR), yang meliputi retorik dan majas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif melalui analisis isi. Data penelitian ini adalah kata, frasa, klausa, atau kalimat yang dapat dirumuskan sebagai gaya bahasa lokalitas Minangkabau. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah teks-teks anekdot dalam CMK:BjR terbitan bulan Januari dan Februari 2016 yang terdiri atas delapan tulisan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara: (1) mengklasifikasikan gaya bahasa lokalitas Minangkabau yang ditemukan ke dalam retorik penegasan dan majas berdasarkan teori, (2) menganalisis gaya bahasa menurut subkategori gaya bahasa retorik dan pemajasan lokalitas Minangkabau, (3) menafsirkan kecenderungan gaya bahasa lokalitas Minangkabau dalam teks-teks CMK:BjR, dan (4) menyimpulkan hasil penelitian. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam teks-teks CMK:BjR terdapat: (1) gaya bahasa retorik yang terdiri atas: (a) penegasan berupa antiklimaks, pleonasme, dan hiperbola serta (b) pertentangan berupa antitesis; (2) gaya bahasa pemajasan lokalitas Minangkabau, terdiri atas (a) perbandingan berupa metafora dan alusio serta (b) sindiran berupa sarkasme, sinisme, dan ironi. Dari sejumlah gaya bahasa yang ditemukan, gaya bahasa retorik yang dominan adalah penegasan berupa hiperbola dan gaya bahasa pemajasan yang dominan adalah sindiran berupa sarkasme.Kata kunci : gaya bahasa, retorik, majas, lokalitas Minangkabau

Abstract

This study aims to describe the grammatical function of the Indonesian relative clauses found on the foreign students' academic degree program at Technical Manager Unit Language (UPTBahasa) University Sebelas Maret Surakarta. Data used in the form of writing, the sentences in the written essays of foreign students contained relative clauses. The techniques of data analysis use apportion method and advanced techniques of apportion method. The result of this study shows that the process of relativization that occurs in Indonesian can only relate the subject function. As the development of linguistics, the process of relativizationalso occurs in the object. Relativization on object will be accepted when it is altered through the passage process. In addition, the process of relativizationthat occurs can be through the steps, namely the obliteration strategy. The obliteration strategy serves to dissipate the nominative which relating its relative clauses. This research has concluded that the relativization process of relative clauses in Indonesian only occurs in the subject. Then, the most frequently used relativization in Indonesian is the obliteration strategy.Keywords: Indonesian for foreign speakers, grammatical functions, strategy obliteration, relative clausesFUNGSI GRAMATIKAL DALAM KLAUSA RELATIF BAHASA INDONESIA PADA KARANGAN MAHASISWA ASINGAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan tentang fungsi gramatikal klausa relatif bahasa Indonesia yang ditemukan pada karangan mahasiswa asing program darmasiswa level akademik di UPT Bahasa Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta. Data yang digunakan berupa data tulis, yakni kalimat-kalimat dalam karangan mahasiswa asing yang didalamnya terdapat klausa relatif. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode agih dan teknik lanjutan dari metode agih. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses perelatifan yang terjadi dalam bahasa Indonesia hanya dapat merelatifkan fungsi subjek. Seiring perkembangan ilmu kebahasaan, proses perelatifan terjadi juga pada objek. Perelatifan pada objek akan berterima apabila diubah melalui proses pemasifan. Selain itu, proses perelatifan yang terjadi dapat melalui langkah-langkah, yakni strategi obliteration. Strategi obliteration berfungsi untuk melesapkan nomina yang direlatifkan dalam klausa relatifnya. Penelitian ini memeroleh simpulan bahwa proses perelatifan klausa relatif dalam bahasa Indonesia hanya terjadi pada subjek. Kemudian, strategi perelatifan dalam bahasa Indonesia yang sering digunakan adalah strategi obliteration. Kata Kunci: bahasa Indonesia bagi penutur asing, fungsi gramatikal, strategi obliteration, klausa relatif

Abstract

This study aims to describe the symbolic meanings of among tebal ritual and the description of attitude of life of the tobacco farmers on the slopes of Sindoro in novel Genduk by Sundari Mardjuki. This research uses descriptive qualitative method which put forward on content analysis with in-depth reading on the novel. The problem in this research is the symbolic meaning of among tebal ritual and the description of the attitude of life of the tobacco farmers on the slopes of Sindoro which is reflected from among tebal ritual in the novel Genduk. The data of this research are all symbolic expressions in among tebal ritual and all words and sentences that describe the attitude of life of the tobacco farmers on the slopes of Sindoro in the novel Genduk. Result this research can describe the symbolic meaning of among tebal ritual which consists of symbolic meaning of ritual offerings that are white, yellow, red, and black tumpeng which symbolize the four elements in human beings that cannot be separated and jajan pasar that symbolize human character in this world is different. Prayer in rituals has a high expectation for tobacco plants to be planted to grow fertile with good harvest. The symbolic meaning of the procession of among tebal ritual is the togetherness that is in the society of tobacco farmers on the slopes of Sindoro. This study describes the attitude of life of the tobacco farmers on the slopes of Mount Sindoro which reflected from among tebal.Keywords: among tebal, attitude of life, symbolic meanings, tobacco farmers MAKNA SIMBOLIK RITUAL AMONG TEBAL DALAM NOVEL GENDUK KARYA SUNDARI MARDJUKI AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan makna simbolik ritual among tebal dan deskripsi sikap hidup petani tembakau di lereng sindoro dalam novel Genduk Karya Sundari Mardjuki. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif yang lebih mengedepankan pada analisis konten (isi) dengan pembacaan mendalam pada novel. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah makna simbolik dari ritual among tebal serta deskripsi sikap hidup petani tembakau di lereng sindoro yang tercermin dari ritual among tebal dalam novel Genduk. Data penelitian ini berupa semua ungkapan simbolis pada ritual among tebal serta semua kata dan kalimat yang mendeskripsikan sikap hidup petani tembakau di lereng Sindoro dalam novel Genduk. Hasil penelitian ini mendeskripsikan makna simbolik ritual among tebal yang terdiri atas makna simbolik sesaji ritual yaitu tumpeng putih, kuning, merah, dan hitam yang melambangkan keempat unsur dalam diri manusia tidak dapat dipisahkan serta jajanan pasar yang melambangkan karakter manusia di dunia ini tidak ada yang sama. Doa dalam ritual memiliki makna pengharapan tinggi untuk tanaman tembakau yang akan ditanam dapat tumbuh subur dan panennya bagus. Makna simbolik prosesi ritual among tebal yaitu kebersamaan yang terjalin di masyarakat petani tembakau lereng Sindoro. Penelitian ini juga mendeksripsikan sikap hidup petani tembakau lereng Sindoro yang tercermin dari ritual among tebal.Kata kunci: makna simbolik, among tebal, sikap hidup, petani tembakau
