Al Munir Journal of Islamic Communication and Broadcasting is open access and peer review of journals published by the Communication and Islamic Broadcasting Study Program of the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences, Imam Bonjol Padang State Islamic University (UIN). This journal covers actual issues in Islamic communication studies, including the development of contemporary da'wah by utilizing media, Islamic information systems, rhetoric, literature, and government policies regarding broadcasting and information regulation. The purpose of this journal is to promote sharing of knowledge and understanding of communication issues. Then receive contributions from experts, researchers, practitioners and policy makers throughout the world. This journal is published periodically twice a year, precisely in January - June and July - December.

Abstract

Al-Imam (1906-1908) and Al-Munir (1911-1915) are the two magazines into the funnel of Young called the idea of Islamic reform in the archipelago. Relations between the two magazines can be traced through several ways, including through the characters involved in it, a similar form, contents and intellectual discourse.

Abstract

The study of preaching in Islamic Broadcasting Communication of Preaching Faculty IAIN Imam Padang  has aims to assess the existence of subject knowledge and how urgency preaching and organizing the next course in line with the times. Until Islamic Broadcasting Communications degree alumni, faculty and alumni in particular is generally expected to be able to compete in the world of work. The important studies include: 1. existence of subjects offered now, 2. Issues missionary at present, 3. Missionary challenge in the development of the global age, 4. Missionary knowledge future orientation, and 5. Offer courses that are relevant to the times

Abstract

The effective sentence in the language of journalism has variety in his work in the newspaper. There are some problems that frequently appear in newspapers in writing (1) incomplete sentence element, (2) the sentence influenced English, (3) the sentence contains a double meaning, (4) the sentence meaningful illogical, (5) the sentence contains symptoms redundancy (pleonasm), and (6) sentences with ambiguous structure.

Abstract

Cell phones have become one of the requirements for the wider community. Today all people in the world can be connected by a modern communication tool that is supported by the development of sophisticated media and modern communication. One of the media such as the mobile phone is now better known as "smart phones". The rise of smart phone usage among teens sparked a wide range of issues related to individual behavior and social behavior of adolescents themselves. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive type. The technique of collecting data was taken with a total sampling was 28 people. The data collection techniques used was observation, interviews and focus group discussion. Data were analyzed through several stages: among other subjects through testing credibility, authenticity, triangulation analysis, and intersubjectivity analysis. From the research that has been conducted showed that the use of smart phones in adolescents can meet their needs. Fulfillment of requirements obtained from the use of smart phones in the range of cognitive needs, affective needs, personal integrative needs and requirements as well as the social integrative needs to release tension. Fulfillment of various needs in the above cause a variety of effects, both positive and negative.

Abstract

Instagram is one of the most popular social media for the public. One difference between Instagram and other social media, is that instamam is more likely to be used to find information and share information with users than to interact directly with fellow users. The purpose of this study is to find out and explain the motives and active user satisfaction in using Instagram social media and find out the relationship between the motives and satisfaction of Instagram social media usage. This study uses use and gratification theory which assumes that individuals have certain goals in using media. The method used in this research is quantitative research methods. The data collection tool is the questionnaire has been validated. The research sample was 70 people. The sampling technique is simple random sampling. The statistic test that the researchers used was the Partial Correlation Test (Pearson Product Moment). Data is processed using SPSS version 20. The results of this study indicate users want to get information and knowledge that is happening at the present time. Information satisfaction becomes the most obtained by Instagram social media users. Overall Instagram social media has given satisfaction to users and there is a significant relationship between motives and satisfaction.

Abstract

Performance assessment can be described as a study of the ability of an organization in achieving goals. The performance assessment can be used to measure the activities of the company / organization in achieving goals and also as material for future improvement. Organizational performance is a performance and the process of implementation in which the organization's objectives to be achieved. In the context of this assessment, which is defined as the performance is to see to what extent the achievement in the achievement of the performance of government agencies in achieving the goals set by the Balanced Score Card (BSC) of the Financial Perspective, Customer Perspective, Internal Processes, Learning and Growth perspective. Thus, performance measurement is a useful tool in efforts to achieve the goals, performance measurement can be done through the process of assessment of the achievement of the set objectives and performance measurement can provide an objective assessment in management decision making. Measurement of performance assessment can help improve the quality and lower the costs arising from the activities of government agencies.

Masyarakat Minangkabau terkenal dengan ketaatan mengamalkan adat dan agama. Hal ini tergambar dalam ungkapan yang populer “adat basandi syarak, syarak basandi kitabullah” (adat bersendi agama, agama bersendi kitabullah). Adat merupakan budaya turun temurun yang diaplikasikan dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat. Keberadaan dan pengamalan adat pada dasarnya dipengaruhi oleh pola pikir dan lingkungan yang mengitarinya.

Abstract

Existence of competent Da’i and credible is very important in the process of dakwah. In achieving the goal of dakwah, it is necessary to build the competence and credibility of the Da’i. Ideally every Da’i should have the competence and credibility. Credibility of the Da’i is preaching trust and confidence to dakwah object, either before or after being preaching. While the Da’i competence is related to the knowledge, abilities, skills, and attitudes in performing their duties Dai’s preaching. The birth of a Da’i's credibility based on its competence Da’is. Thus, the credibility of the Da’i can be built and acquired through education, knowledge and authority of Da’i themselves. As for the steps to build Da’i’s credibility is the Da’i who has the authority of expertise through education and experience. Then, in dakwah the Da’i can refer preaching materials cite sources who have the authority and competence. So, Da’i do dakwah with rational approach and logical argument. In addition, the Da’i also must has good attitudes.

Abstract

Rating program is the average viewer to program expressed as a percentage of the group sample or total potential. The rating point program is based on the smallest unit of time one minute. Rating required for television stations to measure the success of an event and is closely related to the success of advertisers rating to "monotheism" is inevitable, to mention the focus of all current television program objectives. Recognized or not, in fact, any new impressions, emulated by other broadcasters. Finally booming and people accept there was a critical and agrees.

Abstract

Pengelolaan Tanaman Terpadu (PTT) or better known as a Paddy Cultivation (Padi Tanam Sabatang/PTS) is an flagship program of the Ministry of Agriculture in order to self-sufficiency in West Sumatra. This program was introduced on 2007. Since the program was introduced in the last 7 years, there are still a lot of farmers who are interested in applying this technology. Thus, the author is interested in reviewing the PTS program from perspective of the diffusion of innovation theory within communication science.Therefore, the author conducted a qualitative research to examine the issu. Data collection conducted by in-depth interview, observation, and documentation, then presented in descriptive qualitative method.The research concluded that Padang government performs the difusion of innovation by applied conventional mass media and interpersonal media, while the hybrid media has not been used. The medium considered effective is the Field School (Sekolah Lapang/SL). The inhibiting factors are 1). Complexity of the PTS Program, 2). The government has not attempted to perform diffusion programs to to the land owners who are not farmers.
