Abstract

Film as a part of mass media certainly has a function in giving messages to the audience. Until now, the films circulating certainly contain the ideas and ideas of the creators. Ideas and ideas in filmmaking originated from the scriptwriter who produced the script. The role of the director is no less important in the next process, namely interpreting the script and producing it into a film. Among all the director's personal attributes that have an influence in making film works, gender is one of the backgrounds for different perspectives in expressing these ideas and ideas. In this case, gender can be interpreted as a social role attached to a particular gender. In this case, Indonesian cinema needs a new and different perspective by placing the perspective of women as what women want. This perspective will usually be brought by the director. How can directors create women's aesthetics, be it women's issues, politics, culture and other issues in films so that women directors can make film works as a medium to communicate and open up the widest possible perspective of women framed from women themselves in various ways to the audience.

Abstract

Currently Film becomes a medium of promotional strategy of a product or called Product Skateboard that is in great demand by advertiser manufacturers. Because watching a movie can attract high attention and involve activities so that the audience is interested in buying the product. Natural placements also make viewers less distracted than ads that appear too much and have a long duration. But not necessarily Product Skateboard is able to run smoothly, but there is also a Product Skateboard where advertiser producers are more concerned about how the product can be seen in the film related to the interests of producers to advertise and the interests of producers to obtain financial support for the filming process. This can create blurring of the boundaries between entertainment and commercial element 2, as well as disrupting the script due to product type mismatches with the scene that existed when the product appeared. Product skateboard marketing that looks at the discrepancy of the year marketed products with a time setting is in one of the films titled "Habibie &Ainun", The existence of products that have discrepancies in the year marketed products with a time setting on the scene, certainly affects the credibility of the film "Habibie and Ainun" as a biographical film, which in the poster of the film is also seen to include the phrase "based on true story".

Abstract

Children's daily activities will not be finished to be produced into a photo, there are expressions with all forms of overflow, games, learning activities at school and at home, work, cooking, to activities to help parents, is a moment that can be used as a source of photography creation. The process of making photos of children must be done with an approach, participants who are more appropriate to approach and adapt to children. Photographers must be pro-active in following and directly involved in each child's activities. The goal is that the shooting becomes smooth, and there is no boredom for children who are used as the subject of the photo shoot. Difficulties in photographing children can be nullified if there is a fabric of good communication between the photographer and the child. Photographers must look for findings that are used as sources of children's photography creation ideas, for example what activities children often do, then how their expressions are, and how to approach techniques with the subject in the photo shoot. In addition to the approach, the process of creating photos of children requires methods, which are divided into pre-production, production, and post-production, which are almost all practices. Small Story: Photographing Children with Participatory Approaches, providing comments and practices for making photographs, with children as a source of creation. Children's daily activities, such as swimming, biking, gathering, playing, and other children's activities have been portrayed by the photographer with his camera, plus an overflowing form of child expression: crying and laughing, making the photo appearance of the child attractive.

Abstract

Films are audio-visual media that are very effective in conveying information to the wider community in a distinctive way of telling. According to David Bordwell, film telling uses two main elements, namely form and style. Through a qualitative method with data collection techniques, observation, literature study and textual analysis of films with a Minangkabau cultural background which has its own way of conveying messages and information. In terms of phenomena, films are very effective as a medium for cultural diplomacy both to domestic and foreign audiences. So that the film is actually formed from the vision of the story and the ideas behind it and in its own way becomes a medium of communication.

Abstract

Film works can be created from various points of view and methods of production techniques so that they become an interesting unified storyline. Parasite is a film that depicts a new perspective with a fascinating story and plot twist in the context of a film with the issue of social inequality in the modern era. The interesting thing in the film Parasite is the depiction of hedonism by characters from poor families, where people think that poor people cannot become hedonists because of their limited abilities. This study uses a qualitative approach and descriptive method, which describes the social relations of the meaning of hedonism in lower-middle families, in the form of forms, activities, characteristics, changes, relationships, similarities, and differences. The results of the research show that the Parasite film illustrates that poor families can practice hedonism in their lives, so this film becomes a source of representation of the country's progress by presenting a luxurious life. If it is associated with the concept of Roland Barthes, Stone becomes a mythical image in the form of a visual representation of how Korean people believe stones can bring good luck.

Abstract

The production of this film tells the story of a modest life from a leather puppeteer, known as the puppeteer crisp. The fact that the necessities of life is never ending then, Kajali persisted with lack thereof, being the puppeteer as the only of livelihood Kajali. Now, not many traditional arts are able to survive sturdy. Kajali, one of the few people who are still trying to preserve a cultural heritage handed down by their ancestors. This documentary film packaging, adjusted based on the real story intact, so that the audience is expected to see the different side from the figure life of puppeteer in general. As a puppeteer, he utilizes his potential, the potential of humor and good communication to audience as the key to successful of his performance. Hopefully struggle picture of the puppeteer in this documentary can inspire various circles to give attention to revive the nation's cultural assets which tragic fate and danger of being lost without generations inherit.

Abstract

The short film titled Say hello to Yellow by B. W. Purba Negara is one of the films that raises the relationship of technology in human life. there is a connection between the human,world, and technology. The perceiving of human to the world is evident in the scenes in the movie Say hello to Yellow. This paper is a descriptive qualitative. The main data source is a short film titled Say hello to Yellow by B. W. Purba Negara. The analysis knife used is Don Ihde's technological philosophy theory about human relationship with technology. The results of this study showed that in the film Say Hello to Yellow there are characters (risma friends) who are able to maintain their existence as human beings and there are characters (Risma) whose existence as a human being is affected by the existence of technology.

Abstract

The documentary film "Young Man and the Sea" (2012) is a documentary film that has a pattern of nostalgia recalled and developed to deliver a variety of messages about the idea of the director. This film studies using narrative analysis method which will discuss the story and associate it with the humanistic personality theory from the Abraham Maslow, the man as an individual has the freedom to choose an action, determine their own destiny or form from the existence and is responsible for all the options. Human needs are classified into six types, and the highest is Self-Actualization, namely the need to be someone who in accordance with the wishes and potentials of himself.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The study in this article is motivated by the importance of revealing meaning in a film. Films are audio-visual works that have been enjoyed by many people or people, both with fiction and non-fiction genres. However, not many people are able to understand the film to the meaning involved in it. The study of a film work, one of which can be done through Sergei Eisenstein's Theory which states that the meaning of a film can be studied through interrelated image montages. One of the films in this modern era that deserves to be studied using image montage is the film Irrational Man. In the film there are montage parts that launch each other, thus forming a meaning that can be accepted by the audience. The image montages in the film Irrational Man show simplicity. This shows that in working on a good film, one does not always have to rely on super-sophisticated technology. ABSTRAK Pengkajian dalam artikel ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya mengungkap makna dalam sebuah film. Film merupakan karya audio visual yang sudah banyak dinikmati masyarakat atau orang-orang, baik dengan genre fiksi maupun nonfiksi. Namun, belum banyak masyarakat yang mampu memahami film sampai kepada makna yang tersirat di dalamnya. Pengkajian sebuah karya film salah satunya dapat dilakukan melalui Teori Sergei Eisenstein yang menyatakan bahwa makna film dapat dikaji melalui montase-montase gambar yang saling berkaitan. Salah satu film di era modern ini yang layak untuk dikaji menggunakan montage gambar adalah film Irrational Man. Di dalam film terdapat bagian-bagian montase yang saling berkesinambungan satu sama lain, sehingga membentuk sebuah makna yang dapat diterima oleh penonton. Montage-Montage gambar pada film Irrational Man menunjukkan kesederhanaan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam menggarap sebuah film yang baik, tidak harus selalu mengandalkan teknologi yang super canggih.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article examines a boy named Salawaku in the film “Salawaku”. The film Salawaku tells the story of a boy who leaves the village to look for his brother Binaiya. In the search for his brother, when he left the village, the masculinity of Salawaku was very clear. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method. Research data were collected from film sequences. The analysis was conducted based on the concept of masculinity. The results of the research, in several film sequences there is a masculinity character of a Salawaku who is so thick. The explanation of masculinity analysis is explained in detail with explanations in several film sequences. The conclusion that can be drawn from the analysis is that the masculinity of a Salawaku has a relationship with the local culture or environment. That way, the local culture or environment forms a Salawaku into someone who has a thick masculinity. ABSTRAK Artikel ini meneliti seorang anak laki-laki bernama Salawaku dalam Film “Salawaku”. Film Salawaku bercerita tentang seorang anak lelaki yang pergi meninggalkan desa untuk mencari kakaknya Binaiya. Dalam pencarian kakaknya tersebut, ketika meninggalkan desa terlihat begitu jelas maskulinitas dari diri seolang Salawaku. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data-data penelitian dikumpulkan dari sekuen-sekuen film. Analisis dilakukan berdasarkan konsep maskulinitas. Hasil dari penelitian, dalam beberapa sekuen film terdapat karakter maskulinilas dari seorang Salawaku yang begitu kental. Penjelasan analisis maskulinitas dijelaskan secara rinci dengan penjelasan dalam beberap sekuen film. kesimpulan yang dapat diambil dari paparan analisis adalah maskulinitas dari seorang Salawaku memiliki keterkaitan dengan budaya atau lingkungan setempat. Dengan begitu, budaya atau lingkungan setempat membentuk seorang Salawaku menjadi seorang yang memiliki maskulinitas yang kental.
