Abstract

Independence is a directed process because the development of independence is in line with the nature of human existence, the direction of development must be in line with and based on the goals of human life. But the reality in the field there are still students who have low learning independence, there are still many students who are low in the desire to compete to advance for their own good, less able to make decisions and initiatives to overcome problems, lack self-confidence in doing their tasks, and lack responsible for what he does. Independence of learning is the ability of students to realize their desires and take initiative in determining the learning activities such as formulating learning goals, learning resources (either in the form of people or materials) to diagnose learning needs and control the learning process without the help of others and one of the factors that influence it is student learning discipline. This study aims to determine the relationship between disciplines of learning with students' learning independence in Padang 2 Public High School. This research is a descriptive correlational research with quantitative methods. The total sample of 245 students was selected using the Simple Random Sampling technique. The research instruments used were learning discipline questionnaires and student learning independence questionnaires. The results of the study revealed that (1) the discipline of learning students in SMA Negeri 2 Padang was in the good category. (2) the learning independence of students in SMA Negeri 2 Padang is in a fairly good category (3) there is a significant relationship between the discipline of learning and student learning independence in SMA Negeri 2 Padang. Based on research findings, it is recommended that school counselors / counselors be able to provide guidance and counseling services, namely information services and individual counseling services in order to help students who have problems with learning independence.

Abstract

Facts in the field indicate that there are students who experience very high bullying behavior. Bullying behavior is an aggressive action that is intentionally done to hurt other people both physically, verbally and psychologically and is done repeatedly. The main objective in this study was to reveal the effectiveness of the cognitive behavior modification approach with group settings to reduce student bullying behavior. This type of research is experimental research. The experimental design of the Pre Experiment model uses the design of The One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The subjects of this study were high school students Development of the Padang UNP Laboratory who had very high bullying behavior as many as 10 students. The method of data collection uses the scale of bullying behavior. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test and descriptive data analysis.From the results of the pretest scale of bullying behavior there are 1 student in the high category and 9 students in the very high category. Posttests results from 10 students after being given the treatment of cognitive behavioral modification changed the average bullying behavior of students and were in the low category. The Wilcoxon test results show the average T_count = 0, 005 <T table = 0.005. The results showed that there were differences in bullying behavior of students before and after participating in the activity. So cognitive behavior modification is effective in reducing student bullying behavior.

Abstract

Individuals who imagine themselves successful tend to describe themselves with positive self-concepts, while individuals who imagine failing experiences more often describe themselves negatively. The contribution of self-concept is quite large in determining the behaviors of students in school because each student has a different concept of self. This study aims to empirically examine the contribution of self-concept to bullying behavior of students of SMK Negeri 10 Padang. This research is a descriptive correlational study with quantitative methods. Sampling in this study used purposive sampling technique with a total sample of 165 students. The research instrument used was a self-concept questionnaire and a bullying behavior questionnaire. The results of the study revealed that (1) the self-concept of students of SMK Negeri 10 Padang were mostly in a fairly good category (2) bullying behavior of students of Padang Vocational High School were mostly in the rare category (3) there was a significant contribution between self-concept of bullying students of SMK Negeri 10 Padang.

Abstract

The type of research used is quantitative with a comparative descriptive approach. The population  in this study were students of SMPN 15 Padang and MTsN 1 Padang with a total of 887 students from both schools and a total sample of 265 students from both schools taken by simple random sampling technique. The data collection tool used was a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The results of this study show that: (1) overall the learning habits of students at SMPN 15 Padang and MTsN 1 Padang are in the good category with a percentage of 85.5%, (2) the learning habits of students in SMPN 15 Padang are in the good category with a percentage of 62% and the study habits of students in MTsN are in the good category with a percentage of 68%, and (3) the t-test states that there are significant differences regarding the learning habits of students at SMPN 15 Padang and MTsN 1 Padang, which average student learning habits in MTsN 1 Padang are better than students at SMPN 15 Padang.

Abstract

Social assistance for students who provide assistance with good and positive forms and attitudes can help their development tasks, so that students care more about the environment for their parents. In fact there are still students who have not received good social support from followers who do not need to go to school and pull out the teaching and learning process, students are bullied because students' clothes and pants are not suitable to be used again, students imitate assignments, students cannot support in the classroom. This study aims to improve social support and self-efficacy of academic students in order to be able to support daily life effectively and be able to achieve the desired goals. This research is a kind of descriptive correlational research with quantitative methods. The number of samples is 184 students selected using the Stratified Proportional Random Sampling technique. The research instrument used was a social assistance questionnaire and student academic self efficacy questionnaire. The results of the study revealed that (1) the social support of the parents in Padang Public Middle School 4 in the category was sufficient to support (2) the self efficacy of students in Padang Middle School 4 in general in accordance with the category quite confident. (3) There is a significant relationship between social support and self efficacy of students in Padang N 4 Middle School. Based on the research findings, the role of guidance and counseling services in social support assistance related to information and counseling services is needed.

Abstract

Learning activities are carried out by students in achieving learning goals. One factor that can support children's learning activities is parental treatment, among others in the form of, (1) meet the child's basic needs, (2) guiding children, (3) educating children. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods. The subjects in the study were elementary students in class IV, V, and VI consist of 75 people. Data collection tools used in the form of instruments (questionnaire) and data analysis using descriptive methods. Based on the research findings, children's perceptions of parental treatment in supporting learning activities classified as good, which includes: meeting basic needs, guiding, and educating children.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the number of student who have a concentration of learning in the low category. One of the factors that is thought to influence is the condition of the school environment. The purpose of this study is to describe the concentration of students learning, the condition of the school environment, and test a significant positive relationship between the condition of the school environment and the concentration of students learning. The population of the study was 1264 students of Nine Public Vocational School in Padang who were enrolled in the July-December semester of the 2019/2020 academic year and a sample of 330 students was selected by Stratified Random Sampling. The instrument used is the Learning Concentration questionnaire with a reliability of 0.921 and the School Environment Condition questionnaire with a reliabilty of 0.877. Data were analyzed by descriptive techniques and Pearson Product Moment. The research findings are: the concentration of students learning in the medium category, the conditions of the school envinronment in the quite good category, and there is a significant positive relationship between the condition of the school environment and the concentration of learning students.

Abstract

This research originate from the fact of some students that have behavior that are not appropriate students, including the procrastinating behavior to do the task. Postponement of work is called academic procrastination. Individuals who are academic procrastination, have low self-control. The purpose of this research is 1) students behavioral control who tend to academic procrastination, 2) students cognitive control who the to academic procrastination, 3) students decision making control who tend to academic procrastination. Type of research is descriptive research, that is a research which describes systematically and accurately about state of object research. Reearch subject are students at Institute of Economic Science West Sumatera Pariaman. Population of students are 434 and sample of students research are 209. Sampling technique used in research is utilizing percentage formula. Result of research indicates that students self-control in aspect of behavioral control is generally in low category, in aspect of cognitive control is generally medium category, and in aspect of decision-making control is  low category. Based on research, the students are suggested to be able to manage their time and action well, the research place is expected to open a counseling service unit so that students are be able to consult with counselors in campus.

Abstract

To find out the achievement of educational goals need to be tested. To face the exam students need to do a variety of readiness both (1) physical readiness (2) psychological readiness (3) readiness of stationery and exam materials. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods. The population of this study was all students of SMP Negeri 13 Padang, totaling 848 students and the sample in the study were students of class VII, VIII and IX at SMP Negeri 13 Padang, totaling 272 students who were selected using the Simple Random Sampling technique. Data collection tools used in the form of instruments (questionnaire) and data analysis using descriptive methods. The findings of the study revealed that overall the readiness of students facing exams was in the good category, which was detailed as follows, (1) students' psychological readiness to take exams was classified as very good, while (2) physical readiness, stationery and student's exam materials to face exams quite good.

Abstract

    Ideally in following the learning process students need to have a strong self efficacy, because with self-efficacy, students will try harder in doing academic tasks and manage their own learning. In fact there are still field students who experience low self efficacy. This study aims to describe the efforts of BK teachers in alleviating the problems of students who have low self efficacy. This study uses a quantitative-descriptive approach. The subjects of the study were Guidance and Counseling teachers of SMP Negeri Kota Padang with 39 people. The instrument used is Likert Scale. Data were analyzed using percentage technique. The results revealed that the efforts of BK teachers in: (1) Identify the problem of low self efficacy is in good enough category. (2) Analyzing the cause of low self efficacy is in good enough category. (3) Identifying parties that help to eradicate low self efficacy are in good category. (4) Developing a low self-efficacy service plan is in good enough category. (5) Implementing low self-efficacy services is quite good (6) and Evaluating low self-efficacy services are in fairly good category.
