Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of the guided inquiry learning model to the reasoning ability of students. This research is a quasi-experimental study using two groups of samples (experimental and control) that have been declared normal and homogeneous. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 27 Medan in 8th-grade students with two classes sample, each class with 40 students. The instrument used was in the form of a reasoning ability test consisting of pretest questions (6 items) and posttests (3 items) which have been declared valid and reliable. The results showed that in the guided inquiry class, students 'reasoning ability was influenced by the KAM value of 66%, while in the expository class, students' reasoning ability was influenced by the KAM value of 71.3%. This shows that the contribution of KAM in the guided inquiry class is smaller than the contribution of KAM in the expository class on reasoning ability (66% 71.3%).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi konsep matematika pada permainan tradisional congklak di Desa Femnasi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 3 orang yaitu 1 orang narasumber dan 2 orang anak yang bermain congklak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti, pedoman observasi, pedoman wawancara dan handphone. Berdasarkan penelitian analisis dan pembahasan dari permainan tradisional congklak, terdapat konsep-konsep matematika yaitu bangun datar yaitu persegi panjang  yang terdapat pada permukaan papan congklak dan persegi yang terdapat pada lubang-lubang congklak yang dibagi menjadi tiga bagian, bangun ruang yaitu setengah bola yang terdapat pada lubang-lubang papan congklak; transformasi  dalam hal ini refleksi/pencerminan yang terdapat pada lubang-lubang congklak yang saling berhadapan; konsep operasi hitung bilangan yaitu penjumlahan, pengurangan, perkalian dan pembagian yang terdapat pada cara bermain congklak;  serta pola bilangan  yang terdapat pada cara bermain congklak.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the development of the student worksheets based on valid, practical and effective realistic mathematics learning models, and to determine the improvement of students’ critical thinking skills by using student worksheets based on realistic mathematics learning models. The type of research used is Research and Development research which refers to the 4-D model as stated by Thiagarajan (1974). However, in in its implementation, this research is limited to the define, design, and develop stages. The subjects in this study were students of class X IPS-1 SMA Setia Budi Abadi Perbaungan which consisted of 31 students. This research was conducted in the odd semester of 2021/2022 academic year. The research instrument used include the student worksheet assessment sheets to measure the validity, the critical thinking skills test, and student response questionnaires.Based on the results of the trials carried out, it was concluded that the developed student worksheets have fulfilled the validity criteria with an average score of 3.93%. The developed student worksheets have fulfilled the parcticality criteria in terms of the results of the validator’s assessment and student’s responses. The developed student worksheet have fulfiiled the criteria for the effectiveness in terms of. Completeness of learning, student responses, and the use of time in the learning process. The trial was carried out in two stages where there was an increase in the percentage of learning completeness from 35.48% to 93.54% with achievement indicators from 64.77% to 79.97%; student’s responses to learning are included in the effective category with an average of 88.17%; the use of time for the learning process in accordance with the available time allocation. Thus, the developed student worksheets fulfill the valid, practical and effective criteria.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the types of errors and the causes of students in solving math story problems with straight-line equations based on Newman's analysis. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. The students who were the subjects of the research were three students of class VIII-B of SMP Negeri 1 Atap Obor which were taken from a total of 19 students. The instrument used was a written test question with a total of five description questions while the interview technique was carried out with selected students to ascertain the types of errors made in solving story questions. Data analysis includes data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results showed that three subjects were randomly selected based on the type of error Newman's analysis as follows: the first subject (S1) represented students in making mistakes in four stages, including the reading stage (T1), the problem understanding stage (T2), process skills (T4), and the final answer writing stage (T5). The mistakes made by the second subject (S2) who represent students in making mistakes in three stages, including the stage of understanding the problem (T2), the stage of process skills (T4), and the stage of writing the final answer (T5). The mistakes made by the third subject (S3) who represent students in making mistakes in the three stages, including the reading problem stage (T1), the process skills stage (T4), the final answer writing stage (T5).

Abstract

Research is an activity to obtain a solution to a problem or phenomenon that occurs through scientific steps. To understand research, researchers must first understand what statistics are. Statistics is a science that studies the methods of collecting, processing, interpreting and drawing conclusions from the data collected or obtained. Therefore, statistics is said to be one of the sciences that is indispensable in research, not least in the field of mathematics education because statistics are used to identify and describe the relationships obtained from the data that has been collected and then processed to obtain a conclusion. The role of statistics has been seen from before the research was carried out, the research took place until the processing of research results.

Abstract

The aims of this study were: (1) to determine the contribution of parental support to the mathematics learning achievement of eighth grade students of SMP YPAK PTPN III Gunung Para; (2) knowing the contribution of interest in learning to mathematics learning achievement of class VIII SMP YPAK PTPN III Gunung Para; (3) Knowing the magnitude of the contribution of the joint relationship between parental support and interest in learning on mathematics learning achievement for class VIII SMP YPAK PTPN III Gunung Para. This type of research is a correlational research with a quantitative approach, because in this study the relationship between parental support and interest in learning will be sought for learning achievement in mathematics. The correlation technique used is multiple correlation (multivariate) which is to determine the relationship between two independent variables together or more with one dependent variable.The population in this study was class VIII SMP YPAK PTPN III Gunung Para as many as 155 students divided into four parallel classes. The sampling technique used in this study is the Simple Random Sampling technique, so that the researcher determines the students of class VIII-3 with 39 students as the sample.This study uses a questionnaire type instrument and documentation. The questionnaire instrument used has met the validation requirements, totaling 27 statements each to obtain information from the three variables. To find out the first and second objectives in this study, the product moment correlation test and t test were used to see the significance of the relationship between variables. Meanwhile, to find out the third objective using multiple correlation test.The data that has been collected and analyzed shows that the contribution given by parental support and interest in learning to student achievement shows a fairly large number. The contribution of interest in learning to learning achievement is the largest (44.36%) when compared to the contribution given by parental support to learning achievement (28.09%). However, if parental support and interest together affect learning achievement, the contribution will increase to 46.40%.

Abstract

Gold is one of the investment commodities that has been in great demand by the public for a long time because, in addition to bringing profits, gold investment is also considered safe. To get the best profit from the gold investment, forecasting and planning can be done to predict the gold price. In this research, the best forecasting model will be determined in the price of 1 gram gold bullion produced by PT. Aneka Tambang (ANTAM) using the ARIMA method to predict gold prices in 2022. From the results of the discussion, the appropriate model to predict gold prices is ARIMA(4,2.0). ARIMA value(4,2,0) with error value at MAD= 6220.55, MAPE= 0.6624, MSE=47274070.87, RMSE=6875.61

Abstract

At this time the type of crop that is most often planted is corn because it is a plant that is easier to grow than other secondary crops and the cost is also relatively less and the process is not complicated. The profit from the harvest depends on the selling price and the capital used. So that there is uncertainty in determining the profits of the farmer. Given the uncertainty, it is necessary to optimize the selling price. To optimize the selling price, fuzzy logic can be used. Fuzzy Mamdani is a method that is very flexible and has tolerance for existing data or is usually referred to as secondary data. The data obtained is data collected from Uluan District which is known by the local government in Uluan District. Where the data is data from the community in each village starting for 12 periods of planting corn. By using the Mamdani method, the optimum selling price in the first period of 2012 was Rp. 2,644,-.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the mathematics learning outcomes students of class X MA Pondok Pesantren Darul Qur'an material linear equations before and after learning using Macromedia Flash learning media. The sample selection was through random sampling, the instrument used was in the form of tests conducted twice, namely before learning (pre-test) and after learning (post-test). The results of the data analysis requirements test, it is known that student learning outcomes are declared to be normally distributed and have variance homogeneous. The results showed that there were differences in students' mathematics learning outcomes before using macromedia flash learning media with an average of 57.1 and after using macromedia flash learning media, which was an average of 77.3. The results of data analysis using t-test showed there was a significant difference in improving students' mathematics learning outcomes. It can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted where Macromedia Flash learning media is effectively used to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes in class X MA Pondok Pesantren Darul Qur'an in linear equation material.

Abstract

The study carried out on the cognitive development of students, found that the ability of elementary school teacher education students at Universitas HKBP Nomensen Pematangsiantar in involving learning media still needs to be improved. Elementary school teacher education students must have the ability to use concrete objects in learning mathematics, including things related to their daily experiences. The purpose of this study was to find out how to implement the use of Dakon-matika media in high-class mathematics courses for students at the Universitas HKBP Nomensen Pematangsiantar. This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach with a sample of 40 students who take high grade mathematics courses. The data collection instrument used was an observation sheet on student activities in making and using Dakon-matika media. The assessment used uses a benchmark reference scoring system. As for analyzing the data obtained and answering the research questions, univariate statistical tests were used. Students are declared to have passed in the manufacture and use of Dakon-matika media if at least the student gets a score of 75. The results show that the ability of students to create and use Dakon-matika media still needs to be improved in order to meet the specified graduate learning outcomes.
