Abstract

Covid-19 was declared a pandemic since early 2020 causing the learning process to be carried out from home with an online system at all levels of education. This study aims to determine how positive students' perceptions of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic are on online learning at SMK Negeri 2 Binjai. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research. Data collection techniques using observation, questionnaires, and documentation. This research was conducted in SMK Negeri 2 Binjai. The results showed that: (1) Students already had the basic facilities used to carry out online learning; (2) online learning is very flexible in its implementation and is able to encourage the emergence of independent learning and motivation to be more active in participating in learning; and (3) online learning encourages the emergence of social distancing behavior and minimizes the emergence of large crowds of students so that it is believed to reduce the potential for the spread of Covid-19 in the school environment. Weak supervision of students, lack of strong signal in remote areas, and high internet quota fees are challenges in online learning. Increasing interest in learning, motivation, independence, and being brave in expressing ideas and questions are the advantages of online learning.

Abstract

In line with the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus in all corners of the world, various learning ideas that can be done during the pandemic have emerged. The natural learning process is changed to Learn From Home, Online learning, Distance Learning, Hybrid Learning, and others. Submission of material even to the collection of assignments is also made online. Many teachers end up choosing methods that are considered easy and mastered. Some teachers use Google Drive, email, YouTube, WhatsApp, and others. However, teachers still find it challenging to organize the files because each platform has limitations. Departing from the teacher's need to manage learning assessments, researchers are interested in developing an application that can manage online and integrated learning assessment data. The application is named MAS AL which is an acronym for Alternative Assessment Management. This study aims to 1) describe how the process of developing the "MAS AL" application and 2) describe the feasibility of the MAS AL application. This study uses the ADDIE development model. The ADDIE stage consists of 5 stages: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The validation test result obtained a percentage of 89.2% for the first validator and 90.3% for the second validator. At the implementation stage, MAS AL trial was carried out by elementary school teachers in East Java who obtained a questionnaire percentage of 97.5%. So, the conclusion obtained is that MAS AL as a solution to integrated distance assessment management is appropriate.

Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools has the aim of introducing students to nature and the surrounding environment and being able to understand the role of students in environmental conservation. Science consists of various science theories and through real learning students are able to understand these theories. So far, the implementation of science learning in elementary schools is still using conventional learning models through lectures, questions and answers, and assignments. In learning science, teachers tend to use image media in elementary school science textbooks. Learning that is more dominated by teachers causes students to become passive so that students' understanding of science material is low. To overcome these problems, teachers need to innovate in order to be able to improve the quality of science learning. One of the innovations that can be done by teachers is using a scientific approach in science learning and utilizing video as a science learning medium. The purpose of this study was to prove the effect of scientific learning with video media on students' understanding of the adaptation of animals to their environment. The researcher uses a quantitative research approach because the data generated is in the form of numbers and analyzed statistically. This research is an experimental research and a one group pretest-posttest research design. The population and sample of this study were students of class V with a total of 23 students. The instrument used to collect research data was a test sheet to measure students' understanding of the adaptation of animals to their environment. By using a paired sample t test analysis through SPSS 21, it was concluded that there was an effect of scientific learning with video media on students' understanding of the adaptation of animals to their environment.

Abstract

The mismatch between the background of education and employment obtained greatly affects the future of the individual and the existence of the industry in which the individual works. In Indonesia until now, there are still many reports mentioning the number of educated unemployed or less relevant competence of vocational education graduates with the needs of the industrial world in Indonesia. Link and match is one of the efforts that can be done to prevent mismatch between the supply provided by educational institutions and the demand needed by the industrial world. This paper aims to analyze the implementation of public policies related to vocational education. The concept of link and match itself has been proposed since the late 80s. The success of this concept is characterized by the occurrence of harmonious coordination between the Industry and Educational Institutions (SMK / Polytechnic) in all related learning components. The Industry must participate in formulating curriculum, learning models, work culture, quality assurance, to graduate uptake. The author uses qualitative methods by collecting data from various libraries, reading, recording and processing from various library sources related to vocational education problems in Indonesia. From the results of the analysis it can be concluded that vocational education in Indonesia is still not able to meet expectations so there still needs to be structural and systematic improvements to overcome the problem.. This synergy is needed so that skilled human resources created later are able to get jobs that are in accordance with their competence. The latest efforts that have been tried to realize the concept of link and match are through the SMK center of excellence program in 2020
