Abstract

Physics learning in SMA N 2 Padang was implemented through theory and practicum for verifying the theories. The results of the initial survey showed that the physics teachers had not yet applied the research-based learning. Supporting facilities such as physics lab and its equipment has been already available, but it has not been utilized optimally. Research-based learning is a model that can improve scientific processing skills and learning outcomes of students. The research aimed to produce a valid, practical, and effective research-based physics learning model and devices. This research was a research and development using the 4D model of Thiagarajan. The instrument of this research are interview guides, observation sheets, sheet of validation of model and learning tools, questionnaire for both teachers’ and learners’ responses, assessment sheets for scientific processing skills, and achievement test. The results showed that the developed model and the learning devices according to the assessment of experts were declared valid. Model and learning devices were practical based on the observation and the questionnaires. The application of research-based physics learning could effectively improve scientific skills and learning outcomes of students. This model is suggested to physics teachers in high school in regard with implementing research-based learning.

Abstract

This research aims to know the effect of implementation the research based learning to master properly physics concepts and students’ generic ability. This research used experiment method with pretest-posttest group control design. The results of this research were the research based learning was effective to improving students’ mastery of physics concepts and it was also developing the students’ generic ability. The recommendation suggested to lecturer of engineering physics is implementing the research based learning.

Abstract

Physics is one of the adaptive subjects in Vocational High School (SMK). Preliminary surveys of the implementation of learning physics at SMK Negeri 1 Padang shows that many students have not mastered the abstract concepts of physics, so students find it difficult  to apply them in relevant pro-ductive subjects. Therefore, it is implemented physics learning with interactive learning media. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of interactive learning media to improve the student compe-tence. The study used a quasi experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects of the research were students of eleventh grade in electrical engineering expertise program at SMK Negeri 1 Padang. Data were collected by using observation sheet, achievement test, and ques-tionnaire of student responses to the implementation of learning. The result of the research shows that physics learning with interactive learning media is effective to improve the students’ competence, in terms of (1) students learning mastered has been achieved, (2) improvement of physics concept of ex-perimental class in medium category, (3) The average score of mastery of the physics concept of the experimental class is higher than the control class, (4) most of the experimental class students stated that the implementation of physics learning with interactive learning media is good. Suggestion to physics teacher to conduct the computer assisted learning with interactive media.

Abstract

Learning physics in SMAN 1 Bukittinggi was conducted through theories and practicum that verified the theories. The preliminary survey on the implementation of physics learning showed that teachers had not yet applied research-based learning. There were still many students who had not yet mastered the learning of physics. Supporting facilities such as physics laboratory and the equipment had been available, but they are not yet optimally utilized. Research-based learning model is one of learning models that can improve critical thinking skill and students’ learning outcome. The research is aimed at developing research-based physics learning model with Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) approaches which was valid, practical, and effective to improve students’ critical thinking. This research used a 4D model from Thiagarajan. The instruments of the research were interview guidance, observation sheets, validation sheet of the learning model and the instructional materials, questionnaire response of teachers and students, critical thinking skill test, and assessment sheet of skills and attitudes. The result of the research showed that the developed learning model and the instructional materials belonged to the category of valid which was in accordance with the expert judgment. The learning model and the instructional materials belonged to the category of practical based on the result of the observation, and the response of teachers and students. The implementation of Research-based Physics Learning with SETS approach was effective in improving critical thinking skills and learning outcomes of the students.

Abstract

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk untuk menghasilkan e-modul Project Based Learning pada mata pelajaran Instalasi Motor Listrik yang valid, praktis, dan efektif pada mata pelajaran Instalasi Motor Listrik untuk peserta didik SMK. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah research and development dengan model pengembangan 4D yang terdiri dari tahap define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Temuan penelitian ini yaitu penelitian ini berhasil mengembangkan e-modul project based learning pada mata pelajaran Instalasi Motor Listrik. E-modul yang dikembangkan sudah efektif dilihat berdasarkan hasil belajar kognitif dan psikomotor peserta didik. Berdasarkan perbedaan hasil pretest dan posttest dapat disimpulkan bahwa e-modul sudah efektif. Implikasi dari penelitian ini yaitu agar e-modul dapat dikembangkan pada materi dan mata pelajaran lain hendaknya dilakukan pelatihan terhadap guru-guru tentang bagaimana membuat dan menggunakan e-modul yang mampu menarik minat peserta didik untuk belajar dan memberi nilai positif terhadap penggunaan smartphone. Kata kunci: Efektivitas, E-modul, Pengembangan

Abstract

The implementation of the vocational field work practice program is not in line with school expectations, the school still faces difficulties in finding a place to work in accordance with the expertise of students, the supervisor does not periodically monitor the business world of industry, lack of student discipline, the results of the field work practice program is declining, and the evaluation of field work practice programs has never been done at the Ketaping Aviation Vocational School. This study uses the CIPP program evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product) with a combination of balanced mixed model research methods and implemented at SMK. Qualitative research respondents were the head of the field work practice program, the head of the safety program, the supervisor, the field instructor. Quantitative research sample is class XII students who carry out practical work program in semester 3 a total of 45 samples. Data collection techniques data collection through questionnaires, documentation and interviews. Data analysis techniques were carried out on each quantitative and qualitative method, then the results of the analysis were combined to find mutually reinforcing or conflicting data and deepen the finding data. The research findings show that the context component is in the good category Input components are obtained by enough categories, the process components are obtained by enough categories and the results components are obtained by enough categories. It can be concluded that the field work practice program of Ketaping Aviation School is of sufficient value so that it needs improvement in all aspects of the components.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan menerapkan Model Learning Cycle 5E dalam upaya meningkatkan kompetensi afektif peserta didik dalam pembelajaran fisika di kelas IX.2 SMP Negeri 2 Candung. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang timbul selama proses pembelajaran seperti: pembelajaran bersifat teacher centered, guru cenderung menggunakan  metode ceramah sehingga mengakibatkan kurang berkembangnya nilai karakter dan keterampilan sosial peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi afektif peserta didik dalam pembelajaran fisika. Ketercapaian tujuan tersebut dilakukan dengan menerapkan Model Learning Cycle 5E. Model ini mendorong peserta didik belajar secara bertahap dan konstruktif melalui tahap engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration, dan evaluation. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Lokasi penelitian adalah SMP N 2 Candung. Subyek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas IX.2 dengan jumlah 20 orang. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil Tahun Ajaran 2011/2012.  Penelitian dilakukan sebanyak tiga siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat langkah penelitian yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi.  Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari lembar observasi dan tes hasil belajar peserta didik. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kompetensi peserta didik. Kompetensi afektif peserta didik meningkat dari nilai rata-rata  61,0 pada siklus I, 71,8 pada siklus II dan 79,6 pada siklus III  dengan nilai kategori baik. Kompetensi psikomotor meningkat dari nilai rata-rata 69,3 pada siklus I, 83,2 pada siklus II dan 93,1 pada siklus III. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E dapat meningkatkan  kompetensi afektif peserta didik dalam pembelajaran Fisika.   Keywords: Model,  Learning  Cycle 5E, kompetensi afektif, pembelajaran fisika

Abstract

Salah satu tuntutan KTSP bagi guru dalam pembelajaran adalah menggunakan model-model pembelajaran sesuai dengan karakteristik materi dan siswa. Namun kenyataannya di kelas, pembelajaran masih bersifat teacher centered dan guru kurang memfasilitasi siswa untuk bekerja dalam kelompok. Oleh karena itu pembelajaran harus terpusat pada siswa dan siswa harus terlibat secara aktif, kreatif, kritis dalam pembelajaran sedangkan guru lebih berperan sebagai fasilitator. Salah satu model yang dapat mengaktifkan siswa bekerja sama dalam pembelajaran adalah model pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Group Investigation. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar Fisika siswa menggunakan model kooperatif tipe group investigation. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Lokasi penelitian SMA Negeri 2 Plus Sipirok. Subyek penelitian siswa kelas X-2 dengan jumlah 25 orang siswa. Penelitian dilakukan sebanyak tiga siklus. Satu siklus terdiri dari enam langkah penelitian yaitu mengidentifikasi topik, merencanakan penyelidikan, melaksanakan penyelidikan, menyiapkan laporan, menyajikan laporan dan evaluasi. Instrumen penelitian adalah lembar observasi  dan bentuk tes hasil belajar untuk  siswa.Teknik analisis data adalah deskriptif. penelitian dilaksanakan pada semester genap Tahuan Ajaran 2011/2012. Hasil  penelitian setiap siklus menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan aktivitas dan hasil belajar Fisika siswa. Aktivitas siswa meningkat dari kategori rendah pada siklus I meningkat menjadi kategori sedang pada siklus II dan meningkat lagi menjadi kategori tinggi pada siklus III. Sedangkan hasil belajar kognitif meningkat dari 36 % siklus I menjadi 68 % pada siklus II dan meningkat lagi menjadi 88 % pada siklus III. Hasil belajar afektif meningkat dari kategori rendah pada siklus I meningkat menjadi kategori sedang pada siklus II dan meningkat lagi menjadi kategori tinggi pada siklus III. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Group Investigation dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar Fisika siswa kelas X-2 SMA Negeri 2 Plus Sipirok.
