Abstract

Education in South Solok District, still lagging behind in the South Sumatra region, the UN ranking in 2016 is ranked 16th out of 19 existing cities / districts. This happens because the teacher uses video processing software that is recorded, so that many phenomena that cannot be used optimally. This PKM aims to improve the ability of teachers to develop text and video editing. The method used is the stage of interaction and discussion, training, training, training, training and development. Monitoring stages and, end of data analysis and report preparation. The instrument was a test of multimedia and video editing and questionnaires for the implementation of PKM activities. The results of data analysis, obtained by the average from the pretest is 14.42, for the average posttest average is 17.21. Then a paired t test was carried out, obtained a significance value of 0,000 <0,05, thus giving the conclusion that this PKM activity had been able to improve the ability of the Solok district junior school teachers in developing learning videos. Based on the questionnaire given at the end of the training activity, results were obtained that participants were very happy and involved in learning at school

Abstract

Based on observations and interviews with several mathematics teachers of Agam west region, the teacher's lack of knowledge about non-routine materials and problems in mathematical olympiad. Teachers rarely attend the olympic training so that teachers do not know much about non-routine questions, techniques to solve the problem. Based on these observations and the facts there is and so the importance of making the strengthening of mathematics material for teachers. The purpose of this article is to provide the strengthening of mathematics olympiad material so that teachers can improve their professional development, especially in making and solving the olympic problem in teachers of SMP MGMP west Agam District. Based on the evaluation it can be seen that generally the participants of community service in general have sufficiently understood the material in designing the problem and how to solve the existing problems in the Olympics in order to improve the quality of OSN participants from west Agam District. This success is shown by the teacher is able to design and make problems and solve problems related to mathematics olympiad.

Abstract

Classroom action research (CAR) guidance and related material and supporting PTK activities have been carried out. This activity was attended by 20 participants from high school chemistry teacher teachers in Limapuluh Kota District. This activity needs to be carried out to improve the quality of learning for teachers and find solutions to learning problems encountered in the classroom. In addition, this activity is also to help teachers fulfill the mandate of Menpan No. 84/1993 dated December 24, 1993, which was amended to become Minister of State Regulation PAN and RB no. 16 of 2009 concerning teacher functional positions and credit numbers as one of the elements of professional development in the form of research including classroom action research. This activity has been carried out by analyzing the need for guidance material by the teacher and their level of understanding of the material delivered after carrying out the activities. The results of the analysis of the need for the material of this activity were held indicated that 100% of the total participants stated that it was necessary and very necessary. While the results of the participant's understanding of the activity material were 74.29% to 93% of participants expressed understanding and were very understanding. From this analysis it can be concluded that this activity is beneficial for teachers to carry out PTK and write articles on PTK results.

Abstract

Training in increasing the competence of MGMP Chemistry teachers in 50 City Regencies in preparing students for the National Science Olympiad (OSN). The activity began with filling out a questionnaire for the readiness of the teachers in the learning process and pre-test to see the initial abilities of the MGMP Chemistry teachers in the City 50 District. After training in strengthening chemical materials and discussing HOTS questions in the fields of Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Biochemistry, a post test was conducted to evaluate the achievement of the objectives of the activity. From the questionnaire given at the beginning of the activity it can be concluded that in general the teachers were ready for learning even though they were not used to the HOTS questions of the Olympic type questions. This is directly proportional to the pre-test results with an average value of 3.625 (scale 10). After the training of the teachers there was a significant increase which was shown by the results of the post test with an average of 5.5 (scale 10). As an evaluation material, at the end of the activity the satisfaction questionnaire was distributed and the results obtained were an average of a questionnaire of 3.47 (scale 4). Generally teachers complain about the lack of training time so that the absorption of the material provided is quite low.

Abstract

Based on observations, the results of questionnaires and discussions with elementary school teachers in Tanbisaw, Kubung Subdistrict, Solok Regency, found two main factors causing the majority of teachers to be heavy and difficult to publish their writings, namely: 1) Motivation and 2) Substance. Most teachers state that procedures for making scientific works and publications have criteria that are too difficult to fulfill or follow. The teacher has not found any material that is worth writing. The teacher stated that they did not have the time to do research and look for reading sources to write. The purpose of this activity is to motivate and improve the competence of teachers in producing scientific publications in carrying out their duties through Sustainable Professional Development. Specifically, the aim is to: 1) direct teachers to produce research ideas, 2) guide teachers in compiling scientific publications, and 3) inform and direct teachers to publish works at national seminars and scientific journals. The activity was held at SDN 02 Tanjung Bingkung, with participants being elementary school teachers consisting of 8 elementary schools, the methods used were: lecture methods, guided training, discussion and direct practice in writing and making scientific papers to be published.

Abstract

ABSTRACT . The PKM activity aims to improve the competence of science teachers at Rayon 1 Pasaman junior high school in developing scientific-based interactive multimedia to support the 2013 curriculum. The target to be achieved is to increase the competency of teachers in developing TAVAGI multimedia (Text, Audio, Video, Animation, Graph , and interactivity) are science based. To achieve the goals and targets set, the method used consists of the observation phase, the orientation and discussion phase, the preparation stage of implementation, the implementation phase, the monitoring and evaluation stage as well as the data analysis and report making stage. The instrument used was a test on TAVAGI multimedia and a questionnaire for the implementation of activities. The results of data analysis of pretest and posttest, obtained an increase in the average pretest value of 34.28, and the average posttest score was 44.77 indicating the average value, posttest was higher than the pretest value. From the paired t test, the significance results obtained 0.000 <0.05. So it can be concluded that the PKM activities have been able to increase the competence of the teachers of Pasaman Rayon 1 Natural Science in developing scientific-based interactive multimedia to support the 2013 curriculum. very useful and related to learning in school.

Abstract

Principal component in teaching mathematics for teacher is professional competence. It cover how the teacher understand the material of subject matter itself. Teaching Mathematics in Junior High School, teacher have to understand completely in Numbers, Algebra, Geometry and measurements, and also Statistics and probability. Based on the exam and discussion in workshop, known that math teacher in Pesisir Selatan having problems in teaching Geometry and measurement and also Statistics and probability. The problems are complexity of teaching materials, error in translating competence standard and basic competence into lesson plan, time management and student’s motivation in studying math. Solution that offered to the teacher are translating basic competence into learning process and trick how to teach Geometry and Statistics especially. Teaching geometry by explain all geometry object, i.e. plane and space simultaneously and compare each object directly. Teaching statistics and probability starting by counting process.

Abstract

West Sumatra is an area with a high seismic level. Earthquakes can be sourced on land and sea. Earthquakes originating at sea can cause tsunamis. One area of ​​West Sumatra which is located near the coast is the Pasar Baru area, Bayang Pesisir Selatan District, where if an earthquake occurs in the sea it will have the potential for a tsunami to occur. Therefore, it is very important to provide knowledge to the people who live in areas prone to earthquakes and tsunamis, especially those close to the coast. The knowledge provided aims to help measure community preparedness in the event of a disaster. So that the community can be better prepared and alert in facing disasters and can minimize the impact of the disaster. With this preparedness evaluation, it is expected that the community will have knowledge about earthquake and tsunami disasters, the impacts of disasters and knowledge to be prepared for the disaster.

Abstract

Science teaching in junior high schools should be conducted in integrated form. However, the real condition shows that in implementing integrated science teaching in the schools, there were several problems. The solution of this problem is to develop integrated science teaching materials by integrating real-world context and scientific literacy on Science teachers in East Agam district. The objective of the activity is to assist science teachers in developing integrated science teaching material and apply it in science teaching in the classroom. Participants of program assistance were 40 science teachers who were members of the Science MGMP in East Agam district. The instrument for collecting data consisted of pretest and posttest, performance assessment sheet, and questionnaire sheet of science teachers response. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics analysis and correlated comparison test. Based on the results of data analysis can be stated that: 1). In implementing the program assistance, there are 32 products produced in integrated science worksheet form, 2). The average value of the science teacher's response to the implementation of program assistance for the development of integrated science teaching material can be classified into good category, and 3). The implementation of the program assistance for the development of integrated science teaching material is effective to improve the understanding of science teachers on the material of instructional material, the concept of integrated science learning, and the concept of scientific literacy.

Abstract

This society service was done in regard to request from teachers in SMAN 2 Padang Panjang who wanted to be given training on the development of e-module as one of innovative instructional materials that can be used in learning process and serves as a credit for career promotion as well. The designed e-module consisted of module components and was based on scientific approach suggested by curriculum 2013. E-module had interactive features with pictures, videos, hyperlinks, pop-up windows and interactive quizzes embedded. Data obtained from questionnaire and observation during training show that teachers were interested in e-module and wanted to use it in learning process. Teachers perceived e-module as instructional material having attractive design and one that could ease students to learn anywhere and anytime.
