<![CDATA[Food is one of human’s primary needs. But nowadays, people don’t only consider food as their primary need but also as lifestyle as well as recreational medium. Customers of the restaurant don’t only come to enjoy the meal but also to do recreation and enjoy theambience of the restaurant. So, restaurant as a place that sells food should fulfill that customer’s need, by giving interesting and impressive interior design to the customer. Comfortable andimpressive interior design can also give added value to that restaurant and maybe can attract morecustomer to come. Moreover, nowadays there are more and more culinary business thatmake culinary business competition become more tight. So, every culinary business that can be in form of restaurant, cafe or whatever it is needs to have uniqueness and special things which can differentiate each of them with the other. One of the solution is by having unique interior design and represent the restaurant’s business concept and brand image. And the purpose of designing interior of restaurant Mango Terrace is to give comfortable interior designto customer, from space planning aspect and ambience aspect. This design is also fulfill the requirement of seats number that client wants and the needs of restaurantfacility, which is facility of restaurant operational as well as other facility. Designer use Soerabaya Tempoe Doeloe theme in this restaurant which is suitable the location of the restaurant.]]>

<![CDATA[Every parent certainly wants the best for their children. Childhood is the period where children experience growth and development in many aspects; physically, intellectually, socially, and emotionally. However, it seems that nowadays many parents are not capable to fully attend their children’s needs because of job demands. That is why many start to entrust their children’s first formal education to preschool. Preschool can stimulate the growth and development of the children by letting them learn and play. The learning process can accelerate well if the preschool has qualified teachers, good program, and proper physical environment. The children will feel uncomfortable to learn and play in dark, humid, and overcrowded place. Therefore, classrooms and other facility rooms need to be designed as comfortable as possible to support children’s need and growth in the learning process. Selection of colors, shapes, furniture and room layout should be done properly in accordance with children’s ergonomics, and should pay attention to the safety for its users.Interior architecture design Town for Kids Preschool with Playful Kid’s Town as a theme is to provide a comfortable preschool for children to maximize learning process through visual, audio and kinesthetic. Theme is applicable in selection of primary colors to enhance the spirit of children’s activities, simple geometric shapes according to the level of children’s learning abilities and playful design as children’s learning media.]]>

<![CDATA[Fashion becomes more important nowadays so that most women willing to spend their money in order to maintain their appearance. For that reason, most women like shopping especially fashion products. Women’s needs and desires to shop fashion products make a good opportunity to open a fashion business. Nowadays, many Indonesian people interested in batik clothing since the enactment of the 2nd of October as a national batik day, however many batik clothing models are outdated that makes teenagers and young adults not interested. Therefore modern batik clothing is the right choice for modern teenage girls and young adults because more varieties in patterns, colors, and models. La Signature De Felicia offers exclusive modern batik clothing ready-to-wear suitable for women. Based on modern batik products which are containing the traditional and modern, thus become the interior concept for La Signature De Felicia. The interior concept is ‘Transition’ which in interior means a blend of traditional and modern that uses traditional element umpak (base of a column in traditional Javanese house) which has been simplified so it looks more modern. Minimum of ornamentations and decorations keep the focus on the simplicity of the design. The colors are used the neutrals and warm tones to evoke clean look and as neutrals background colors for the products. This interior design is created to provide comfort for both customers and employees.]]>

<![CDATA[The demand of comfortability in a house has become an important factor. Because of that, any aspect that relates with it has to be well-designed. So, the people that live it in that house feel maycomfortable and that feeling has to be illustrated in the design. The priority for designing the showroom and booth is the comfort matter. Because of that, the idea for the design concept of this project is ‘House in a House’. In another words, it could be defined that the house ambience is illustrated in the showroom as well as in the exhibition booth. Inside the showroom, objects sold are the home furnishing products, including the furniture furnishing products. The most important thing of the design concept is a simple design. Therefore, it will give a relieved and roomy ambience, with black and white colour, and with the consideration of ergonomic, circulation arrangement, and room organizization. The showroom and the exhibition booth that were designed, were attractive and might invite people to buy the products, and the customer understand about the products sold.]]>

<![CDATA[In today’s world, particularly in Indonesia, there are increasing in the development and the necessity of interior design’s business. It is mainly affected by changes in societies’ lifestyles and the expansion of the property markets along with investors began to extend to outside Java. Numerous problems encountered by the societies associated with the function and quality of interior space environments.The author aims to fulfill societies’ requirements through interior design consultant; named MYC. MYC assists and provides solutions to clients, through the results of consultation and design in accordance with the clients’ specifications, especially in the area of Makassar and Manado. Client satisfaction is the main goal of MYC, thus, MYC improves the quality of life through design is a solution to the problems faced.EbenHaezar’s Kindergarten School in Manado is one of MYC’s design implementation. The kindergarten has a concept of Fun, Balancing and Intelligence, where this concept offers a balance between learning and play for children that are identical to playing and learning. Fun concept is supported by the use of shape and color in every room that aims to brighten the atmosphere of the school considering the building is dominantly occupy with children around two to six years old. In addition, warm and safe concepts are emphasized by applying material that is warm natural, such as on the floor using wood vinyl flooring as to create coziness to the children to feel like their own house.]]>

<![CDATA[Indonesia sebagai negara kesatuan memiliki beragam etnik kebudayaan dan suku baik minoritas maupun mayoritas. Klenteng adalah tempat ibadah masyarakat minoritas Tionghoa, yang jumlahnya belum terlalu banyak, namun tersebar di berbagai wilayah kepulauan Indonesia. Sejak pemerintah telah memberikan kebebasan beragama bagi masyarakat Tionghoa keturunan, semakin banyak klenteng-klenteng tua yang mulai dikenal dan diekspos masyarakat. Mulai dari ritual doa dan dewa-dewa yang ada dalam klenteng, hingga dekorasi eksterior maupun interior klenteng, sudah ditilik oleh masyarakat yang tidak hanya tertarik untuk mengetahui namun juga mulai terdorong untuk meneliti lebih jauh kedalam mengenai makna itu semua. Fasad dan atap yang pertama kali terlihat pada sebuah bangunan eksterior klenteng sangat menarik untuk ditelaah mengingat banyak makna yang terkandung dari pengaplikasian ornamen yang digunakan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah dengan metode kualitatif dan dilakukan dengan studi lapangan, observasi, dokumentasi serta wawancara. Hasil yang didapatkan berguna bagi keilmuan desain arsitektur mengenai makna ragam hias atau dekorasi pada atap klenteng. Nilai estetika sangat penting untuk ditampilkan agar tampilan luar tetap menarik sebagai aset wisata. Bagaimana penerapan elemen estetika pada eksterior bangunan kelenteng dan ragam hias apa saja yang digunakan menjadi hal yang menarik untuk diteliti dan dikembangkan selanjutnya.]]>

<![CDATA[Adanya persaingan yang ketat dalam perumahan yang dikelola oleh pengembang, adalah salah satu pendorong studi pada consumer behavior, housing and environmental design. Segmentasi pada obyek-obyek dengan brand tertentu untuk setiap cluster sulit dilakukan karena setiap cluster memiliki atribut tersendiri. Obyek studi adalah perumahan Pakuwon City di area Surabaya Timur. Dari studi ini ditemukan 55 indikator yang kemudian dapat dikelompokkan menjadi 4 faktor, valuasi properti, jarak, lingkungan dan keuangan. Survey ini dilaksanakan secara eksploratif dan kemudian di analisis diskriminan dan memberikan hasil bahwa siklus hidup keluarga berhubungan dengan faktor-faktor pemilihan rumah dan lingkungannya]]>

<![CDATA[Penuaan adalah proses alamiah yang dialami oleh manusia. Ketika menua, manusia biasanya mengalami penurunan fungsi tubuh, baik fisik, mental, dan psikologis. Kondisi penurunan fungsi ini menyebabkan terjadinya berbagai masalah yang berdampak pada ketidaknyamanan kaum lanjut usia untuk tetap hidup di dalam lingkungan mereka. Kaum lanjut usia membutuhkan perlakuan khusus untuk dapat melanjutkan kebiasaan hidup mereka semasa muda. Penelitian ini menelaah aspek aksesibilitas lingkungan panti wredha sebagai salah satu aspek penting yang diperlukan untuk menjaga keberlanjutan kualitas hidup kaum lanjut usia. Pembahasan mengacu pada empat aspek aksesibilitas, yaitu kemudahan, kegunaan, keselamatan, dan kemandirian. Pembahasan dilakukan berdasarkan observasi pada aktivitas kaum wanita lanjut usia pada area makan Panti Tresna Wredha Nazareth di Bandung sebagai studi kasus. Penelitian dilakukan pada tiga kategori kondisi fisik wanita lanjut usia 65-70 tahun, yaitu: a) mampu berjalan normal, b) berjalan dengan bantuan wheel rollator walker, dan c) berjalan dengan walker empat kaki. Dari penelitian ini, diperoleh temuan bahwa desain ruang sosial harus lebih memperhatikan faktor jalur sirkulasi, area clearance di sekitar tataan furnitur, dan desain furnitur yang digunakan.]]>

<![CDATA[Bangunan bersejarah Tionghoa di Indonesia saat ini terancam punah, dan ini merupakan salah satu dari peninggalan yang berharga. Pecinan di wilayah Jakarta dan Bogor seharusnya menjadi tempat yang menarik untuk dikunjungi sekaligus potensial untuk menjadi tujuan bagi turis mancanegara. Arsitektur dari bangunan Cina memiliki detil yang umumnya menunjukan kepada masyarakat sekitar tentang status dari pemiliknya. Penelitian ini diselenggarakan oleh Kecapi Batara – Komunitas Pecinta dan Pemerhati Bangunan Tua Nusantara dimana mahasiswa Bina Nusantara University dari jurusan Desain Interior sebagai peserta program magang terlibat sebagai peneliti junior. Salah satu misi Kecapi Batara adalah untuk melestarikan bangunan peninggalan di Indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengumpulkan data yang tersedia terkait dengan warisan bangunan Cina di Indonesia. Penelitian dimulai dengan menggunakan studi literatur dan wawancara kepada keluarga ataupun pemilik dari bangunan tua di wilayah Jakarta dan Bogor. Tulisan ini berisi data dari beberapa bangunan tua Cina yang telah selesai diteliti didukung oleh sejarah terkait dengan bangunan. <![CDATA[Penulisan ini merupakan studi relevan siproduk Era Bauhaus yang diwakili oleh kursi karya Marcel Breuer terhadap aspek produk berkelanjutan, Kepedulian dan kebutuhan terhadap produk berkelanjutan ini baru dimulai 40 tahun kemudian yaitu sekitar tahun 1980an hingga saat ini. Bauhaus adalah sebuah gerakan yang menjawab kondisi setelah masa Perang Dunia I. Pada masa ini banyak terjadi perubahan dalam kondisi politik, budaya dan tatanan sosial. Bauhaus merupakan gerakan yang Aspek Produk Furnitur yang Berkelanjutan pada Masa Bauhaus Dalam Karya Marcel Breuer menjawab perubahan ini dengan menawarkan pemikiran yang tidak bersifat tradisional. Bauhaus banyak menyumbang paham dan idealisme modern, seperti Form Follow Function, Truth to Materials dan Less is More. Selain idealisme ini, juga ada sumbangan dari Bauhaus dari sisi teknologi material yakni pipa besi. Pipa besi ini merupakan hasil teknologi pada masa Revolusi Industri yakni teknologi cold pressed metal. Sekitar tahun 1923 dikenal sebuah kursi karya Marcel Breuer yang menggunakan pipa besi (stahl rohr) sebagai material utama. Karya Marcel Breuer ini dianggap mewakili visi Bauhaus yang sangat memperhatikan nilai ekonomi, fungsi, inovasi, durabilitas dan estetika dalam setiap karyanya. Karya Marcel Breuer ini juga diproduksi massal dimana standarisasi dan respon terhadap pengguna menjadi fokus utama. Walaupun eksistensi sekolah Bauhaus ini hanya selama 14 tahun namun kontribusinya terhadap dunia arsitektur, desain dan seni selalu diingat hingga hari ini. Besarnya pengaruh politik pada masa itu membuat Bauhaus harus pindah ke 3 kota, yakni Weimar, Dessau dan Berlin, namun dibawah kepemimpinan Walter Gropius, Hannes Mayer dan Mies Van Der Rohe sekolah ini mampu terus berkembang.]]>
