Abstract

The objectives of this research are to: 1) determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on cognitive learning outcomes; and 2) to determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on students' scientific literacy. This type of research is a quasi experiment. The research design of pre-test-post-test non equivalent control group design. The population in this study were all class VII students of SMPN 1 Tanjung North Lombok Regency in the academic year 2017/2018 which consisted of 6 classes. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, in order to obtain class VII 3 as the experimental class and class VII 1 as the control class. The instruments used to collect data were multiple choice questions totaling 20 items to measure student cognitive learning outcomes and essay questions to measure content and the scientific context. Meanwhile, worksheets are used to measure the scientific process. The data analysis technique used two-way ANOVA with a significance level of 0.05% using SPSS 16 for Windows. The results showed that: 1) there was an effect of the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on cognitive learning outcomes (p <0.05); and 2) there is an effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on students' scientific literacy (p <0.05).

Abstract

Covid-19 merupakan jenis virus baru yang baru ditemukan dan menyebabkan pandemi di seluruh dunia termasuk Indonesia dan menghambat semua aktivitas termasuk bidang pendidikan. Keadaan ini memaksa semua jenjang pendidikan berubah sistem dari yang sebelumnya tatap muka menjadi daring. Oleh karena itu diperlukan suatu inovasi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran berbasis teknologi yang salah satunya dengan memaksimalkan media pembelajaran. Penggunaan media pembelajaran di masa pandemi berperan penting dalam membantu peserta didik memahami materi Biologi yang abstrak. Metode penelitian ini yaitu metode penelitian kualitatif dengan cara penelitian kepustakaan atau library search. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik saat b elajar di era pandemi dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran. Berdasarkan Media pembelajaran berbasis manusia, media cetak, media visual, media audio visual, dan media komputer (web), diketahui bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis animasi dianggap paling berpeluang karena dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

Pandemi sangat mempengaruhi semua sudut dan tatanan kehidupan, tidak terkecuali sektor pendidikan. Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) nmerupakan mata pelajaran yang menjembatani pengetahuan siswa tentang masa pandemi ini, dimana pada mata pelajaran ini harus menghadirkan pengetahuan-pengetahuan mengenai virus. Pada kenyataannya, kurikulum merancang materi yang sangat rinci dan membahas tuntas mengenai virus ditemukan di tingkat SMA/MA/SMK, dan sangat minim sekali pada tingkat SD dan SMP/MTs. Melalui artikel ini, akan dijelaskan bagaimana pentingnya materi virus ini diajarkan mulai dari tingkat SMP/MTs yang kondisi siswanya terlebih dahulu penting dan harus mampu menerima pengetahuan mengenai virus daripada tingkat SD. Artikel ini merupakan hasil observasi, studi kepustakaan (literatur review), dan studi dokumentasi yang melahirkan gagasan-gagasan bagiamana pentingnya pengetahuan tentang virus tersebut diketahui sejak dini oleh siswa. Materi virus sangat penting dihadirkan dalam pembelajaran IPA di SMP/MTs dengan pertimbangan cakupan materi yang sangat luas (virologi), materinya yang kontekstual, materinya sebagai rancangan indikator pendidikan kesehatan, dan sebagai rancangan indikator dengan pendidikan tanggap wabah.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to analyze the antibacterial activity of various concentrations of beluntas leaf extract by examining the inhibition zone’s diameter of Streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175 bacteria. This type of research is experimental. The research was conducted at the Chemical Engineering Laboratory of State Polytechnic of Malang and the Biology Laboratory of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The study was conducted from October to December 2020. The research design used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 7 treatments and 3 replications. The standard of turbidity of bacterial isolates used Mcferland 108. Research design was Posttest-Only Control Design. Data analysis used one-way ANOVA and Duncan's continued test of 5%. The results showed that there was an effect of giving various concentrations of beluntas leaf extract on the inhibition zone of Streptococcus mutans bacteria. The results of Duncan's analysis showed that the concentration of 25% had the most significant effect compared to other treatments and was significantly different from other treatments but rather far from the positive control treatment result. The findings of this study is the content of active compounds in beluntas leaves have an effect as antibacterial towards Streptococcus mutans, also, at a concentration of 5% with minimum inhibitory concentration (khm).

Abstract

Abstract The Communities in Huilelot and Uiasa Village have the knowledge of traditional medicine by using various types of plants that have medicinal ingridient around them starting from the yard of the house, garden, roadside to the forest. From the Information obtained, this study was aim to determine the types of plants that have medicinal ingridient, medicinal parts/organs of medicinal properties, methods of treatment, diseases that are cured by using medicinal plants by the community and the cultivation of medicinal plants in Huilelot and Uiasa village. This research was conducted in October - November 2017. The method used in this study was roaming, while sampling and data collection of medicinal plants was carried out by exploration methods around the site. The Work procedures include preparation consisting of observation, determination of informants, and preparing tools and research materials. The implementation phase consists of interviews, exploration and documentation and identification. The data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis, which was presented in the form of a table then matches plants with images or examples according to the source of the literature. Based on the results of the study, 31 types of plants with medicinal properties were used by the community. Plant organs used were leaves, stems, fruits, seeds, tubers, roots and all organs. The most widely used part is leaves. The method of concocting is boiling, pounding, chewing, eating directly, trimming, blending and boiling. Most of mixing methode used was boiled. Diseases that can be cured include high blood pressure, blood sugar, intestines, scabies, liver, abdominal pain, hernias, stomach, vaginal discharge, goiter, malaria and heat, uterine tumors, cancer and breast tumors, pain during childbirth, rheumatism, kidney, urine stones, diabetes, myopic eyes, cuts, bleeding, and broken bones or accidents. From the results of the study there were 12 species cultivated at home and in the garden, while 19 other species grew wild (sabana) or not cultivated by the community

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the effectiveness of the use of discovery learning methods and essay assessment. Research method is quasi experiment and use pretest - posttest control group design. The data obtained were analyzed with descriptive statistics and parametric inferential statistics. Data on understanding metacognition and learning achievement using test instruments of learning results as well as metacognition tests are measured by criteria of metacognition ability. Control class data normality test with Shapiro-wilk 0,108 and 0,123 > 0,005 normal distributed data. Test normality of experiment class data 0,114 and 0,110 > 0,005 normal distributed data. Test the simultaneous similarity of variants with Box'M 0.001 < 0.005 then the dependent variables have the same simultaneous variants. Homogeneity test using Levene's Test 0,845 and 0,311 > 0,005 then homogeneous distributed data. Multivariate homogeneity test using Hotteling's trace manova 0,000 ,0,000 and 0,001 < 0,005 homogeneous data in mltivariate. Testing the main effect hypothesis to one 0,000 and 0,000 < 0,005 there is a significant influence of learning methods on dependent variables, main effect of the second hypothesis of 0,000 and 0,000 < 0,005 there is a significant influence of assessment techniques on dependent variables, interaction effect testing 0,001 and 0,000 < 0,005 there is a significant influence of interaction on dependent variables.

Abstract

Abstrak Eksistensi Ruang Terbuka Hijau (RTH) yang di wilayah Kota Malang mulai menurun, ini dikarenakan proses pembangunan yang intensif. Tempat Pemakaman Umum (TPU) ialah salah satu RTH yang berfungsi lain yaitu sebagai kawasan resapan air, penghasil biomasa serta karbon terbanyak, dan habitat binatang liar contohnya burung. Penelitian kelimpahan burung diurnal dilaksanakan pada bulan September sampai bulan November 2020 di 3 TPU ialah (TPU Kasin, TPU Samaan, dan TPU Sukun). Metode perhitungan burung mengunakan IPA (Index Point of Abundance) dan Point Count. Identifikasi memakai buku “panduan lapangan burung-burung di Sumatra, Jawa, Bali, Kalimantan”. Hasil pengamatan burung diurnal di 3 lokasi TPU terdapat 11 famili, 15 spesies, 267 individu. Indeks keanekaragaman Shanon-Wiener di TPU Sukun, Kasin, dan Samaan terletak pada tingkatan keanekaragaman yang terkategori sedang (H’=1.5 – 3.5). Tingkatan kemerataan spesies dari ketiga TPU ialah (E>0.6) terkategori tinggi, sebaliknya nilai indeks kekayaan jenisnya (R<3.5) ialah terkategori rendah. Burung sriti (Hirundo tahitica) serta burung gereja (Passer montanus) populasinya lebih besar dibanding spesies yang lainnya. Kesesuaian lahan serta tingkatan gangguan dari penduduk kota terhadap burung disebagian areal TPU, mengakibatkan sebagian spesies burung tertentu yang bisa bertahan hidup dengan lingkungannya. Pengelolaan sumberdaya alam secara optimal mampu meningkatkan mutu kawasan lahan tersebut. Kata Kunci; Ruang Terbuka Hijau; Burung Diurnal; Tempat Pemakaman Umum Abstract The reduction of green area in Malang City due to intensify of construction process. Public cemetery is kind of green area which has function as drainage, and wild animal habitat like birds, and also produce Biomasa and amount of carbon. Research on diurnal bird abundance was carried out from September to November 2020 on 3 Public cemeteries (Kasin Public cemetery, Samaan Public cemetery, and Sukun Public cemetery). The bird abundance calculation method uses IPA (Index Point of Abundance) and Point Count. Process of identification by using panduan lapangan burung-burung di Sumatra, Jawa, Bali, Kalimantan’s book. The results of diurnal bird observations at 3 Public cemeteries are contained 11 families, 15 species, 267 individuals. The Shannon-Wiener diversity index in Sukun, Kasin, and Samaan Public cemeteries lies at the level of diversity which is categorized as medium (H '= 1.5 - 3.5). The level of evenness of the species of the three Public cemeteries are (E> 0.6) in the high category, on the other hand, the index value of species richness (R <3.5) is the low category. Sriti birds (Hirundo tahitica) and sparrows (Passer montanus) have a larger population than other species. The land suitability and the disturbance level from urban residents to birds in parts of the Public cemeteries are resulted only certain bird species that able to survive in their environment. The optimization of natural resources management can improve the quality of its land. Keywords: Green Area; Diurnal Bird, Public Cemetery
