Abstract

This paper discusses the initiation of the church as part of the implementation of the Great Commission. The method used in this paper is a qualitative method with a literature approach. Planting churches is part of the Great Commission because the pioneers of the church implement the spread of the Gospel to the established congregations. If we trace the PB (New Agreement) and its historical records in determining the pioneering locations of the church, God and man played a role. From God's point of view, it is theological basis when Paul and Silas prayed, then the Holy Spirit gave instructions on where they should go (Acts 16: 4-12). While from humans, the apostles sent people to preach the Gospel in the designated areas. In this pioneering exercise in identifying culture, it requires the involvement of mentoring involved. In starting a new church planting, focus on the arrangement of faith to new converts as well as on the congregation that will join as members but take priority over discussing material matters.

Abstract

Many people expect a good, healthy, prosperous life, do not experience suffering. People who have a prosperous, healthy life, without suffering are usually identified with people who are obedient and fear God, where the concept of fearing God gets blessings and does not get curses, suffering, or other bad things that are often referred to as the principle of retaliation. This principle of retaliation is a common and believed principle from time to time. In wisdom literature, the principle of retaliation is one of the points that need attention. But in fact there are many who are pious, fearing God, whether they experience suffering that is not appropriate. This research approach is qualitative using a theological approach that can be used to understand the gaps that occur, collect data from various literary sources that can be used to collect the material needed, such as books in libraries, Junarl, the web, electronic mass media, etc. . the concept of the principle of retribution cannot be established in general terms and can be stated inaccurately if it is addressed to righteous people, pious people, good people, and suffering children, because the theory stated by the facts that occurs is incompatible and very contradictory.

So that every graduate produced can understand and practice correct pastoral leadership in accordance with the teachings and actions of Jesus Christ. This study uses a qualitative approach that combines a literature review with the results of interviews with several alumni. Through this research, information was obtained that Jesus' pastoral leadership based on the explanations in the Gospels is clearly visible in three ways, as Jesus' pastoral leadership carries out God's vision and that means that every pastor also carries out God's vision, Jesus' pastoral leadership reaches out to the lost and improves relationships and that means every pastor also reaches out to the lost congregation and mends broken relationship with God, and pastoral leadership Jesus disciplines and sends and that means every pastor disciplines and sends the congregation to preach the gospel. In addition, this study also concluded that Pelita Dunia Theological Seminary should include and teach Pastoral Leadership to every student in order to produce graduates who can serve like Jesus.

Abstract

This paper departs from ideas on facts in various parts of the world, especially the shepherding segment of Christian theology. As a prophecy, of course, the prophet Ezekiel had many essential messages for the life of the Shepherds at that time. Ezekiel 34 as one of the crucial parts of prophecy for today's readers, especially the field of practical theology deserves to be studied to obtain meaningful guidance for Pastors of the Congregation in shepherding a group of people who are facing various challenges in life. These various challenges were even more complicated when the corona pandemic was declared in 2020. By using the literature review method, the researcher explores various works of literature to answer the needs in the field, especially pastoral theology as part of practical theology. The results of the research state that the spirit of shepherding must not be diminished by the increasingly complex challenges of life. This prophetic content in Ezekiel 34 addresses two different areas, namely the judgment of hope in Christ. As a prophecy, Ezekiel 34 gives the sheep the joyous hope of waiting for God's intervention during misleading shepherding practices. On the other hand, some Shepherds actually have the opportunity to show strength and leadership. God has given wise tools and wisdom to the Pastors to lead the congregation to the comfort and comfort of life both physically and spiritually.

Abstract

The emergence of Instagram has indisputably made the world full of pictures. Messages that are generally dominated by words have turned into a collection of colorful pictures on Instagram. Pictures have brought a world that is beyond words. On the other hand, many experts observe the destructive sides of Instagram. The pictures that are initially meant to reveal beauty have transformed into a means of self-fulfillment. Pictures have turned into a context where the self has become the center of the message and the world. In the Christian faith, this is fatal! A self-centered life is contradictory to the Christian nature as God’s image, which basically must center life on God. The question begs to answer: how should Christian respond to Instagram? This is the focus of the research. To answer the question above, using the methodology of phenomenology approach and literary research, I will explain the history and impacts of Instagram. After that, I will analyze it from the perspective of the Christian faith, especially those that are related to the philosophy undergirding Instagram. Finally, I believe Instagram is not evil per se. However, appropriate responses are needed to bring forth a clearer God’s image in the world that is full of pictures.

Abstract

From the mid-19th century until now Christians are confused and troubled by the movements and teachings of the Witnesses who have undermined the Superiority of Christ. In particular when they interpret the word prototokos in Colossians 1:15 which is very different, even contrary to Christian understanding and beliefs in general. The results of this study found that there are differences in the basic and background interpretations used by Jehovah's Witnesses with the basis and background for the interpretation of Christians in general of the word prōtotokos in Colossians 1:15. Jehovah's Witnesses use the word qanah (קנח) from Proverbs 8: 22,25 as the basis and background for the interpretation of the word prōtotokos in Colossians 1:15.
