Abstract

Abstract: A Comparative Study Between The Effect Of Summarizing And DRTA Strategies on Students’ Reading Comprehension. Reading is an action that urges learner to draw in with the writings so as to fabricate significance, handle the primary thoughts, realities, and data introduced in the text. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of two strategies, i.e., Summarizing and DRTA (Directed Reading Thinking Activity) Strategies. This study was carried out at the tenth- grade students of SMA Negeri 9 Kota Bengkulu. The design was a quasi-experiment. The sample consisted of two classes; one was taught by summarizing strategy and another by DRTA strategy. The instrument was a reading test, which was tried-out; the reliability was 0.880 (very high). The hypotheses testing result showed there was no significant difference between both classes on all aspects and at post-test, there was no significant difference in whole reading comprehension, on the aspect of making inference and vocabulary. However, summarizing strategy was found to be more effective on the aspect of finding the main idea with the statistical value was 0.002 while DRTA strategy was found to be a more effective strategy on the aspect of identifying specific information with the statistical value was 0.000.

Abstract

This paper tacklesthe rich cultural diversity in the Mediterranean countries (case of Algeria) that raises a number of key issues that we may encounter in our day-to-day business. The implementation of a plurilingual and intercultural education involves implications for the educational curriculum. It can have different forms according to context; depending on the language is cooling, the rule of the first foreign language, or the possible position of languages that are present in the school without being taught. It also depends upon varying conditions of feasibility and implementation, and the central or local institutional level, for the institution itself, in the classroom, and with respect to relations between the school and its environment. It also has an impact quite evidently on the training of teachers. These different aspects are addressed in other documents of the platform.

Abstract

This research was aimed to find out whether there was significant effect of using read, cover, remember and retell (RCRR) strategy on students’ English reading comprehension. The design was a quasi-experimental research. The sample consisted of 60 students; 30 students for experiment group and 30 students for control group. The instrument was reading test which comprised 30 multiple choice (4 options) question with r=0,86 .The research finding were as follows; 1). RCRR strategy affected students’ reading comprehension in whole reading comprehension RCRR strategy affected students’ reading comprehension in various aspect of reading comprehension, 2). RCRR strategy affected the students’ reading comprehension in the aspect of finding main idea, 3).RCRR strategy affected the students’ reading comprehension in the aspect of making inference, 4).RCRR strategy affected the students’ reading comprehension in the aspect of understanding vocabulary and determining reference. However, RCRR strategy did not affect the students’ reading comprehension in the aspect of identifying specific information. Further study is recommended for medical school.

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the necessity of building a proposed vision to enhance the psychological and social support of orphans in care homes, and the researcher reviews in this study the definition of the study terms represented in psychological and social support and orphanages and care homes, as well as the difficulties and challenges facing orphan care institutions in providing psychological and social support to orphans The researcher used the descriptive desktop approach to identify the literature related to developing the proposed vision to enhance psychological and social support for orphans in care homes. The study showed that providing psychological and social support helps orphans Depositors in care homes to face life stresses and positive adaptation to the circumstance of loss and overcome difficulties before them in order to develop their psychological and social compatibility, as well as enable them through programs to explore their capabilities and develop their capabilities and raise their competencies. The study recommended providing orphan care institutions with the amenities, entertainment and educational games aimed at contributing to creating a positive atmosphere aimed at achieving psychological and social compatibility for the orphans in which they are placed1. Abstract

This research was aimed to know how the teacher motivates her learners and to observe the activities which were applied by the teacher in Freedom Writers movie. The method was descriptive qualitative analysis. The data was taken from the movie and its scripts. The data collection technique was documentation meanwhile the technique of data analysis is content analysis. The research findings were as follows; 1). The teacher employed 10 different motivational strategies. 2). The researcher found the various ways how the teacher applied the strategies in the classroom, those were; by giving respect, love, care and always motivate her learners, playing game, using song’s lyrics, writing assignment, switching the learners’ seat, field trip, discuss with some informants and give the support to the learners who got failed in their evaluation. However, all the kinds of those teacher’s strategies to motivate the learners which found in the movie can be used as references for the teacher in aspiring to be good educators in the future. Further study is recommended for a deeper investigation into teachers’ motivational strategies and their used in the classroom activities.

Abstract

لقد تعاظمت أهمية الترجمة في العصر الحديث وأصبحت من متطلبات الحياة الفكرية المعاصرة، لأنها أصبحت من الصعب أن يكون لمجتمع استطاعة العيش منعزلا عن غيره من مجتمعات العالم خاصة إذا كان راغبا في اللحاق بركب التطور والحضارة البشرية. و من الأدوات لتسهيل الترجمة هي وجود الفهم في القواعد. وأما هدف البحث في هذه المقالة فهي لكشف عن أهمية فهم القواعد في ترجمة الكتب العربية. والنتائج في هذه المقالة هي أن قضية الترجمة لها عملية الترجمة. وعملية الترجمة تنقسم إلى قسمين وهما عملية الترجمة بالطريقة الحرفية وعملية الترجمة بالطريقة التفسيرية.وكذلك المشكلات في الترجمة كثيرة، فمنها خلفية الثقافية والاجتماعية، واختلاف أساليب التفكير. وأما فهم القواعد فهو أمر ضروري لكل دراسة للحياة العربية في الفقه والتفسير والأدب والفلسفة والتاريخ وغيرها من العلوم، لأنه لا يمكن إدراك المقصود من نص لغوي دون معرفة النظام الذي تسير عليه هذه اللغة.

Abstract

 مستلخصأقام شيخ السيوطي في حاشيته نواهد الأبكار وشوار الأفكار على ذكر اعتراضه النحوية على القاضي البيضاوي، ويهدف هذا البحث إلى رجع النظر إلى هذه التعقبات وقرائتها قراءة تأصيلية بغية الوصول إلى أحسن القول وأفضله بشأن ألفاظ كلام الله المعجز، وحاول البحث في أثناء تلمسه هذه الأصول والضوابط التفسير والإعراب على قدر ما تيسر لي، بما ينظر من الأصول  والضوابط التي أقام المفسرون واللغويون تحليلا، وتقويما ودراسة، فانتهى إلى أصول كلية، لها أهميتها وفضلها، في بناء التفسير القرآن الكريم.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in cognitive learning outcomes (in the form of pre-test and post-test scores) of students in class VII as experimental class at SLB Negeri 5 Kota Bengkulu, by providing treatment using the Headsprout Early Reading Program (HERP). This type of research is Pre-Experimental with Quantitative approach. The population is seventh grade students of SLB Negeri 5 Kota Bengkulu in the academic year 2020/2021 with 6 students were taken as samples. Research data were collected through Pre-test and Post-test and documentation. The results showed a significant change in the experimental class with an average value of post-test 76.1 while in the score pre-test an average value of 56.1. The post-test results show that the Headsprout Early Reading program can improve students' Reading Comprehension. Thus, the Headsprout Early Reading Program (HERP)  can be one of effective program to increase students‟ reading comprehension specially with Intellectual Disability.

Abstract

يهدف هذا البحث إلى تحديد عملية تعليم اللغة العربية للبرنامج الخاص لتعليم اللغة الأجنبية بمعهد مفتاح الهدى مالانق  ووصفها. تعتبر هذه القضية قضية مهمة لسيوع المشاكل الموجودة في المدارس والمؤسسات والمراكز اللغوية وهي تتعلق بعدم مطابقة عملية التقويم المنفذة بالأهداف التربوية المرسومة المرتبة حتى لا يغض المسؤولون نظراتهم عن هذه القضية الضرورية. يستخدم الباحث المدخل النوعي بمنهج البحث الوصفي، كان يهدف إلى وصف اتخطيط عملية التعليم ووصف أنواع المقررات المستخدمة ووصف تنفيذ عملية التعليم ووصف الإجراءات التقويمية لعملية تعليم اللغة العربية للبرنامج الخاص لتعليم اللغة الأجنبية بمعهد مفتاح الهدى بمالانق. وجمعت البيانات باستخدام طريقة الملاحظة والمقابلة والتوثيق. أظهرت النتيجة أنه توجد  ثلاث مستويات في البرنامج الخاص لتعليم اللغة العربية في معهد مفتاح الهدى بمالاق هي المستوى المبتدئ المركز على مهارة الاستماع والقراءة والكتابة والمستوى المتوسط المركز على مهارة الاستماع والكلام والكتابة والمستوى المتقدم المركز على مهارة الاستماع والتعبرين الشفهي والتحريري. وأن عملية التقويم المنفذة فيه منقسمة إلى نوعي الرئيسي وهو الأمتحانات والإضافي وهو المسابقات.

Abstract

The research aims to show the students in Universitas Putra Indonesia (UNPI) represent impact of Critical Thinking their idea in Discourse Analysis and to identify the students in showing their scientific interpreting, analyzing and evaluating idea in Discourse Analysis. The purpose of this study is to investigate the students critical thinking skills in Discourse Analysis. In the processing of this research, the writer applies descriptive quantitative research using one group pretest-posttest design method by Mike Allen (2017). This research used theories of Formative Assessment by William & Black on International Journal (2012), Critical Thinking Skill by Facione (2015) and Discourse Analysis by Brian Paltridge (2012). The researcher conducts three stages of research (pre-assessment – treatment – post-assessment).  The result of this research shows that the students represents an improvement of six aspects critical thinking (interpretation, analysis, inference, evaluation, explanation, self-regulatory) in Discourse Analysis.
