Abstract

Sexual violence against women seems to be a never ending crime. Every year, this case continues to experience a fairly sharp increase. Various groups ranging from ordinary people, activists, to institutions such as Komnas Perempuan tried to highlight and make people aware of the urgency of this case. 27 Steps of May is one of the films that voices the case of sexual violence against women. Through the film, the filmmakers tried to convey social criticism of the dangers of the impact of this case. The purpose of this study is to determine the audience's interpretation of the message about victims of sexual violence in the 27 Steps of May film. This study uses a qualitative approach with reception analysis method. The results show that most of the audience interpret the message in the 27 Steps of May film very well and appropriately. However, there are also audiences who have different views in interpreting it. Of the eight analytical units studied, three of them are accepted by the audience in a negotiating position, one unit places an informant in an opposition position, and other units are accepted by all informants in a dominant hegemonic position.

Abstract

Mitra Wacana WRC is an organization engaged in the issue of women and children to fight for gender justice, and an institution that works more at the mezzo and macro levels. Mitra Wacana means an organization that can be critical thinking partners of women and children. In this pandemic condition, Mitra Wacana WRC is trying to adapt by minimizing physical contact. Managers and institutional members have agreed to carry out online-based activities and coordination, such as routine meetings that are usually carried out in physical meetings, which are now carried out by utilizing online media such as WhatsApp groups. The research method used is qualitative descriptive. Praktikan conduct the interview process in order to gain understanding and disclosure that is being faced by the institution. This study examines the adaptive strategies of NGOs in the event of the COVID 19 pandemic, a case study in the social services of Mitra Wacana WRC. The impact felt due to this pandemic every member of the community and beneficiaries (clients) began to get used to utilizing existing technology in obtaining information and coordinating. Because basically Mitra Wacana continues to carry out its usual activities in the midst of the coronavirus situation.

Abstract

This study on the sociology of communication in industrial society is motivated by the heterogeneity and complexity of the social and cultural diversity of the employees of PT Indorama Synthetics Tbk Purwakarta. With the background of the social and cultural diversity of the employees, the purpose of this study is to identify and describe the following two things: First, the social system of industrial society; Second, the communication pattern of industrial society. This study is based on the theory of Gemeinschaft & Gesellschaft from Ferdinand Tonies and Primary & Secondary Communication from Onong Uchjana Effendy. This study belongs to the type of qualitative research with case study methods and subjective approaches. Data collection in this study was carried out by means of observation and interviews. Based on the results of the analysis of the data collected, two important findings were obtained, namely: First, the social system of industrial society is Gesselschaft; Second, the communication pattern of industrial society is primary communication. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of the study of the sociology of communication. The results of this study are recommended for sociology academics, communication practitioners, and researchers who are interested in the study of the sociology of communication, as a basic reference and practical guide in further researching industrial societies and similar groups of people. Abstract

Smartphone is a popular technology among teenagers. The smartphone has a negative impact on teenagers, one of which is addiction. A smartphone addiction can interfere with activities in a youth's life. The purpose of this writing is to understand and customize the effects of the smartphone addiction. This writing was done using a qualitative descriptive method. The result of this writing is that excessive use of the smartphone can have a negative effect on teenagers. The potential effects of smartphone addiction include several aspects, including health, psychological aspects, academic, social aspects, and financial aspects.

Abstract

Participation is a form of community involvement or participation in all activities that occur in the life of the community and state. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of community participation to support community development in the city of Medan. The form of community participation to support community development in Medan City, consists of: First, community participation to support the implementation of Regional Government. Second, community participation to support economic business development. Third, community participation to support community development. The results of the study, it can be concluded that the level of community participation in community development in Medan in 2019 in accordance with the participation phase, it can be seen that at the participation stage for planning that is equal to 84.66 percent are in the category of "Very High", the participation stage for implementation of 77.66 in the "High" category, the participation stage for monitoring or evaluation was 86.33 percent in the "Very High" category, the participation rate for utilization of 77.33 percent was in the "High" category. In total the level of community participation in community development in Medan City in 2019 is in the category of "Very High".

Abstract

Berdasarkan temuan awal penelitian maka dapat diidentifikasi permasalahan pembangunan di Desa Kuripan, Kecamatan Ciseeng, Kabupaten Bogor, antara lain masih rendahnya partispasi masyarakat Desa Kuripan, baik dalam perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan pengawasan terhadap rencana pembangunan Desa, serta masih minimnya sarana dan prasarana pendidikan Formal maupun Non Formal di Desa Kuripan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui partisipasi masyarakat dalam pembangunan pada bidang pendidikan di Desa Kuripan.Dimana Subjek penelitian ini yaitu Pemerintah Desa dan masyarakat Desa Kuripan, dan pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif, dengan menggunakan metode survei. Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Obervasi, wawancara dan kuesioner. Dalam penelitian ini salah satu instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur tanggapan terhadap sebuah pertanyaan/pernyataan atau masalah yaitu dengan menggunakan skala Likert. Kemudian teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik persentase dan tabulasi silang. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data penelitian tentang partisipasi masyarakat dalam pembangunan pada bidang pendidikan, maka diketahui bahwa lebih dari setengah masyarakat Desa Kuripan (60,85%) ikut berpartisipasi dalam pembangunan pada bidang pendidikan, dan kurang dari setengah masyarakat desa kuripan (39,15%) meyatakan tidak ikut berpartisipasi dalam pembangunan pada bidang pendidikan.

Abstract

This research was to find out the Implementation of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development Strategy Program in the Economic Section of Palembang Regional Secretariat. This research was a qualitative research using a descriptive approach. Collecting data was taking by in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. The data were analyzed by qualitative data analysis techniques. Based on the results of the study, there were three indicators, (1) the making of Integrated Information. The development of integrated information could make easier for public to communicate with the government, such as related to licensing process and the development of MSMEs through programs issued by government. The website provided as an integrated information target was https://hallo.palembang.go.id and https://lapor.go.id. (2) The establishment of a MSME Consulting and Development Center. The Economic Section of Palembang Regional Secretariat is a local government agency that provided a consultation center in collaboration with the Cooperatives and MSMEs Service Palembang, but in its implementation there were not many visitors came to the place. In addition to consultation center, the strategy conducted by obtaining aspirations from the community related to business development in Palembang was establishing associations through MUSRENBANG from village to sub-district levels which were driven by Regional Planning Agency Palembang. Moreover, the Economic Section of Regional Secretariat Palembang in collaboration with the Cooperatives and MSME Service could also choose priority activities and conducted industrial and trade development planning that led to the priority of real community needs and in accordance with the potential conditions of the districts. (3) The Joint Marketing System, in this case the Economy Section of Palembang Regional Secretariat worked with the Cooperatives and MSME Service of Palembang had been able to implement a strategy to create a joint marketing system for SMEs in Palembang, one of which was by creating a Forum with the Regional Crafts Council Palembang (DEKRANASDA) which existed in Palembang. This forum accommodated all MSME products. In addition to the Forum, the Regions that provided joint marketing through Local and Regional Level Exhibitions were held once a year, they were the anniversary of Palembang and the anniversary of the Province of South Sumatra.

Abstract

This paper discusses the commodification practices carried out by homosexual couples through YouTube by making privacy matters a commodity. The study used a netnography method to observe the process of commodification of privacy carried out by homosexual couples and the responses given by netizens. Data was collected through video observations and commentary fields on three YouTube channels, namely: Lucas and Kibo, Rose and Rosie Vlogs, and KaroJerman RagilFred. The results of the study indicate that there is a commodification of content and audiences carried out by homosexual couples through the content in the videos uploaded on their YouTube channel. In addition, there are different responses from netizens for the three YouTube channels. Keyword: homosexual, commodification, youtube

Abstract

Halal Tourism generally known as new concept of tourism industry that are particularly design for the muslims. Its important to be discussed because the sharia-based economic sector has been growing very rapidly lately, not only in the financial, culinary and fashion sectors but also in the tourism sector where the growth of Middle Eastern tourists is very rapid with a total of approximately 170,000 foreign tourists in 2018 and this figure is projected to increase to 250,000 foreign tourists in in 2019. The purpose of this study was to know how the communication strategy of halal tourism in Bandung. This made the researcher thought that halal tourism is important to be discussed specifically, especially in the Marketing Communication sector, besides its great potential, halal tourism itself requires strong branding so that the process of delivering information and the desires of visiting tourists will be even greater. The result of this study will be focused on Marketing Communication Strategy of Halal Tourism in Bandung. This study used a qualitative research method which the marketing communication strategy of halal tourism in Bandung was described in detail and clearly, then the final results presented the marketing communication strategy model. A case study approach was used in this study, and the validity of the data was tested by using data triangulation based on sources and experts in their fields. This marketing communication strategy is expected to be a reference for the marketing communication strategy of halal tourism in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to measure people's satisfaction with the services of the Department of Transportation, Takalar Regency based on street light services, and terminal services. This study uses a quantitative method with a non-probability sampling technique, with a Likert scale measurement involving 100 respondents, namely: Entrepreneurs, Housewives, Farmers, Students, Private Employees, Retirees, BUMN/BUMD Employees, Civil Servants. Determination of the sample is done by purposive sampling. The results showed that the service of the Department of Transportation, Takalar Regency was in the poor category of 71.83%, with service quality C. Street light service was higher at 72.04% compared to terminal services which was only 69.44%. The highest street light service element is in the cost/tariff section with a value of 3.80 and the lowest is on the elements of handling, complaints, suggestions and input services with a value of 2.46. While the terminal services for handling, complaints, suggestions and inputs received the lowest score, namely 1.00, while for other service elements each with a value of 3.00.
