Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) is a teaching and learning theory in mathematics education that was first introduced and developed by Freudenthal. Two of his important points of view are mathematics must be connected to reality and mathematics as a human activity. RME is implemented following three principles, they are guided reinvention and progressive mathematizing, didactical phenomenology, self-developed model. Furthermore, the practice of RME also has its characteristics, they are phenomenological exploration or the use of contexts, the use of models or bridging by vertical instruments, the use of students own productions and constructions or students contribution, the interactive character of the teaching process or interactivity, and the intertwining of various learning strands. A paper is eligible to be included in this topic if the paper accommodates these three principles and these five characteristics. Educational design research is perceived as the systematic study of designing, developing, and evaluating educational interventions (programs, teaching-learning strategies, and materials, products, systems) as solutions to such problems. It also aims at advancing our knowledge about the characteristics of these interventions and the processes to design and develop them. Authors could submit their work, either a validation study or a development study in mathematics education, with a comprehensive description and analysis of every stage.

Abstract

This study aims to learn the feasibility of e-comic media  in MTsN 12 Jombang. The method of this research is Research and Development (RD). The development model used is the ADDIE development model with stages: analysis (analysis), design (design), development (development), implementation (implementation), and evaluation (evaluation). The subjects of this research  were students of class VII D of MTsN 12 Jombang. The research instruments used in data collection were (1) questionnaire sheets and (2) students' response results. The results showed that the validity of the learning media obtained was based on the validation of the material experts showed 4.2 with a valid category, assessment of the validation of the material experts showed 4.8 with a very valid category, validation of the existing media experts showed 4.53 with a very valid category and participant responses students there are 94% with the category of strongly agree.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the STEM approach to mathematics learning achievement in class XI Machining Engineering Expertise Competency at SMK NU Maarif Kudus. The research objects are class XI TP 4 (control class) and class XI TP 5 (experimental class) in the 2019/2020 school year. This type of research is quantitative research with posttest only control design. The sample selection was based on observations and recommendations from the mathematics teacher and obtained class XI TP 5 as an experimental class was treated with the learning process with the STEM approach and class XI TP 4 as a control class. The t test results (independent sample t-test) showed that the Sig. (2-tailed) 0.036 0.05. This means that from the hypothesis that was built, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. From the results of tests conducted it can be said that there are significant mean differences between classes with the STEM approach compared with the scientific approach. Besides the STEM approach is more effective in giving an impact on student achievement.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the think pair share learning model with a  problem based learning approach is effective based on students' self-efficacy. This research is a quantitative research in the form of quasi-experimental research using a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample of the study was the students of X MIPA class of MAN Salatiga in the academic year 2018/2019, the sample was determined using the Cluster Random Sampling technique. Data was collected using a self-efficacy questionnaire consisting of 20 statements. The results of the study show that: (1) the results of the independent sample t test mean students' self-efficacy obtained a value of 0.035, (2) the average N-Gain score of self-efficacy of students who learned by using the think pair share model with a problem based learning approach of 0.36 while the average N-Gain score of self-efficacy of students who get conventional learning is only 0.23. Thus it can be concluded that the think pair share learning model with a problem based learning approach is effective based on the self-efficacy of X MIPA class of MAN Salatiga students in the academic year 2018/2019.

Abstract

The research aims to improve the ability of students insolving problems based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) subjects Mathematics material bangun ruang sisi datar with the use of learning models Team Assisted Individualization (TAI).  This research uses the Research method Classroom Action (CAR) with two cycles, where each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data analysis using the percentage formula, if completeness is ≥ 85%, the cycle is terminated sign that the research has been successful.  Based on research that has been done, obtained the increase in students completeness from the pre cycle results was 19.4%, in the first cycle amounted to 77.4%, and in the second cycle of 89.7%.  This shows that the use of the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) learning model can improve the ability to solve questions based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) subject mathematics material to bangun ruang sisi datar in students VIII grade of SMP Negeri 1 Juwangi in the academic year 2019/2020.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) terhadap keterampilan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Salatiga tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Salatiga. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes berupa soal uraian sebanyak 5 butir soal. Berdasarkan analisis data terhadap skor posttest menggunakan uji-t dengan bantuan software IBM SPSS Statistics 25 diperoleh koefisien Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 0,05 yang artinya terdapat perbedaan rata-rata skor posttest antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan data empiris hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata skor posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 79,26 dan rata-rata skor posttest kelas kontrol sebesar 68,19, sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa rata-rata skor posttest kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol. Adapun hasil analisis data terhadap skor N-gain menunjukkan bahwa skor N-gain kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan skor N-gain kelas kontrol. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran CIRC lebih efektif terhadap keterampilan menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika dibandingkan dengan metode konvensional.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the urgency of learning mathematics in preparing the cognitive competencies of students of the Islamic Boarding School. This research uses a field approach with descriptive qualitative methods. The research subjects were administrators, caregivers, mathematical teachers, as well as students in the Misykatul Atsar Islamic boarding school. With observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of the study show that: (1) the urgency of mathematics learning at the Islamic boarding school Misykatul Atsar said it was important for the following reasons: first, mathematics as a language for understanding science. Second, mathematics is used to solve problems. Third, mathematics is implemented as a religious lesson in the cottage. Fourth, mathematics is the provision when Santri has left the hut. (2) How to prepare the cognitive competencies of the Santri  Misykatul Atsar boarding school. First, the Teacher's Way: giving a prolog in delivering learning material using language that is easily understood by students. During the learning process by explaining in front of the class the material being presented and giving examples of questions then the discussion about the material that was submitted earlier with questions and answers after clearly given the practice questions. Second, how to caregivers and administrators: bring math teachers to the cottage to teach mathematics once a week and often give him practice. Then ask students to repeat the material with friends, work on sample problems, get used to counting, and be interested when learning mathematics.

Abstract

This research aimed to increase the interest mathemathics learning and student achievement of class VII-D MTs N 1 Salatiga used PAIKEM Gembrot type.the types of research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). Research was conducted minimal two cycles action. Data wa collected by questionnair, observation, interview, test and documentation.result showed an increase student interest viewed from questionnair, observation, interview  and test. Student achievement incresed to by 42,89 at pre-cycle to 85,53 in cycle I and incresed to 90,53  in cycle II. Therefore suggested to teachers use the PAIKEM Gembrot type to increase student interest and achievement.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to determine the correlation between reasoning, and emotional intelligence in social interaction to mathematics achievement. The research was conducted at SMP 5 Yogyakarta, Indonesia with 90 respondents who were selected by random sampling. The research verified the hypothesis used a survey method with correlation and regression technique approach. The research involved 3 (three) variables such as; mathematics achievement as the dependent variable and two other variables as the independent variables. They were reasoning and emotional intelligence in social interaction. The study found that there was a positive correlation between (a) reasoning and mathematics achievement; (b) emotional intelligence in social interaction and mathematics achievement; and (c) there was a positive correlation between reasoning and emotional intelligence in the social interaction to mathematics achievement. This study is expected to be a consideration for developing mathematical achievement through student reasoning, developing mathematical achievement through emotional intelligence in social interactions, and developing mathematical achievement through reasoning and emotional intelligence in social interactions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Accelerated Instruction (TAI) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dalam pembelajaran matematika, dan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Accelerated Instruction (TAI) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dalam pembelajaran matematika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif quasi eksperimental dengan desain pretest – posttest control group design. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini dilakukan secara purposive sampling yaitu kelas VIII A (kelas eksperimen) dan VIII B (kelas kontrol). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan soal dan dokumentasi. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan uji regresi linear sederhana, dan koefisien determinasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Accelerated Instruction (TAI) berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika materi pola bilangan. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen 69,10 dan rata-rata kelas kontrol 53,21. Dari pengujian regresi linear sederhana nilai (Sig.) sebesar 0,000 lebih kecil dari probabilitas 0,05, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa H0 diterima sehingga terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Accelerated Instruction (TAI) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dalam pembelajaran matematika. Kemudian didapat nilai koefisien determinasi R Square adalah 0,415, jadi besarnya pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Accelerated Instruction (TAI) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah sebesar 41,5%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the change in exponential function material in the KBK 2004 curriculum   textbooks up to the 2013 revised 2017 curriculum in Indonesia in a study of theory and technology and based on reference to the epistemological model of exponent functions containing pre-psychological organisation. The data source was taken from the mathematics handbook of class XII IPA for KBK 2004 curriculum and KTSP 2006 curriculum, the BSE math class XII book for 2013 curriculum until the 2013 revised 2016 curriculum and the mathematics module specialization book for class X for the 2013 revised curriculum 2017. Data analysis techniques used by researchers were divided into 4, namely coding, categorizing, comparison, discussion. The results of research that has been done, researchers have found the presentation of exponential function theory with 5 core categories of understanding. In theoretical studies, the 2013 revised 2016 curriculum mathematics textbook has a more complex theory and is in accordance with the reference epistemological models. While technology studies have math books, there are more complex technologies, namely the 2013 revised 2014 curriculum mathematics textbooks, there is the first form of technology and in the 2013 revised 2017 curriculum mathematics textbooks and the 2016 revised 2013 curriculum mathematics textbooks, there is a third form of technology textbooks and the curriculum mathematics textbooks 2006 (KTSP 2006) there is a third form of technology.
