Range: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika publishes original research or theoretical papers about teaching and learning in mathematics education study program on current science issues, namely: (1) Mathematics educator in elementary, secondary and high school level, (2) Mathematics observers and researchers, (3) Educational decisions maker on regional and national level. We recommend classroom action research, qualitative, descriptive, or quantitative. We may process manuscript of didactic development research (DDR) or research and development (R & D). Our publication could be research on teaching method, experiment of teaching aid or media, and even effectiveness of lesson study. We accepted any manuscript derived from research of mathematics education. We will not process manuscript from research approach of school management.

Abstract

High-level Thinking Ability (HOT) is an ability or way of thinking that requires students to seek information or ideas in a certain way in remembering and restating or referring to something. HOT ability is influenced by several factors, one of which is logical intelligence, so the purpose of this study is to describe students' high-level thinking skills in solving mathematical problems in terms of Mathematical Logical Intelligence. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. This research uses instruments in the form of test questions and interview guidelines to obtain students' ability to solve math problems. The research subjects are students of class VIIIC who have studied the material of System of Linear Equations of Two Variables (SPLDV). Based on the results of the analysis of student answers, the researcher describes that high ability students at the analysis stage are able to analyze incoming information and classify or formulate information into small parts to find out patterns and relationships, able to understand and distinguish the cause and effect of a complex scenario and identify or formulate questions. high ability students at the evaluation stage are able to provide an assessment of solutions, ideas and methods by using appropriate criteria or standards in determining the value of their effectiveness or benefits. High-performing students at the creation stage are able to draw conclusions about a particular idea or perspective, plan ways to solve problems, and rearrange elements or parts into a new structure that is different from the previous structure.

Abstract

The main objective of this research was to develop a digital comic based on a valid and effective parable story that can improve understanding of the concept of triangle types with the help of the Pythagorean theorem. The method used was research and development using the Borg and Gall development model. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII A MTs NU 01 Pecalungan Batang, totaling 30 students. Collecting data was done through expert validation questionnaires, product-related responses, and students' concept understanding tests. The results of this research and development were that learning media in the form of Digital Comics Based on Parable Stories were declared valid based on the validation results of material experts and media experts, as well as teacher and student response questionnaires. This study also showed an increase in students' pretest scores and post-test scores, so the media was also effective in increasing students' understanding of concepts. With this research and development, it is hoped that it can be used as an interest to develop other innovations that are effectively used in learning.

Abstract

Pengembangan kemampuan pemecahan masalah menjadi salah satu hal yang hendak dicapai dari pembelajaran dalam bidang matematika. Faktanya, di salah satu sekolah di Jakarta Barat, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa masih rendah. Berdasarkan identifikasi masalah ini, maka paper ini ditulis dengan tujuan untuk menjelaskan upaya meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas 9 melalui penerapan pendekatan problem solving Polya. Metode yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif deskriptif. Secara garis besar penerapan pendekatan ini dimulai dengan tahap pendahuluan, pengembangan, penerapan, hingga penutup. Kemudian lebih spesifik lagi, pada saat menyelesaikan masalah matematis digunakan langkah-langkah menurut Polya. Setelah penerapan pendekatan ini didapati bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa menjadi meningkat. Ini terlihat berdasarkan peningkatan presentase terpenuhinya setiap indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada saat pengerjaan soal. Saran kepada pelaku pendidik yang hendak membahas topik yang serupa yaitu penerapan pendekatan problem solving Polya, adalah dapat memberi latihan soal masalah matematis yang lebih variatif.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui penggunaan LMS pada blended learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis calon guru matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode pra–experimental design dengan one group pretest and posttest. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa semester 1 Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan di Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika sebanyak 30 mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes tulis pretes dan postes dengan pengolahan menggunakan SPSS terdiri dari pengujian deskriptif data dan pengujian persyaratan analisis data: uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji hipotesis dan uji N-gain. hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam penggunaan LMS pada blended learning meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis mahasiswa dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0.00 < 0.05 dengan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,76 berkategori tinggi. maka tafsiran efektifitas N-Gain sebesar 76.221 dengan tafsiran sangat efektif. Rekomendasi pada penelitian ini adalah kemampuan komunikasi matematis mahasiswa harus lebih ditingkatkan lagi dengan menggunakan LMS sebagai calon guru matematika.

Abstract

Technology has a big role in education. Education is required to be able to keep abreast of technological developments. In this case, teachers must be able to apply technology-based learning, one of which is in learning mathematics. The findings from the observations also show that the mathematical reasoning abilities of class IX A students at SMP Negeri 1 Mertoyudan are still in the low category. Therefore, innovation is needed in learning, one of which is using technology in learning. The effort that can be done is to develop a multimedia Scraperat to improve students' mathematical reasoning abilities. This type of research is research and development with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). the conclusion obtained is that multimedia learning scraperat to improve students' mathematical reasoning abilities is stated to be valid, practical, and effective. Advice for readers is to always be motivated to provide products that can improve the quality of learning and education.

Abstract

Kemampuan literasi matematis merupakan kemampuan untuk memahami, menggunakan, dan menerapkan matematika dalam berbagai konteks. Data hasil tes awal menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi matematis siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Windusari masih rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis kevalidan, kepraktisan serta keefektifan produk multimedia pembelajaran berbasis Smart Apps Creator terintegrasi Profil Pelajar Pancasila. Penelitian ini menggunakan model penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan mengacu pada metode pengembangan ADDIE. Adapun desain penelitian ini yaitu one group pretest-posttest. Hasil analisis data validitas ahli materi dan ahli multimedia menunjukkan persentase sebesar 86% dan 88% dengan kategori “sangat valid”. Uji kepraktisan berdasarkan respon siswa yaitu sebesar 79% dengan kategori “praktis”, serta berdasarkan respon guru memperoleh persentase sebesar 98% dengan kategori “sangat praktis”. Keefektifan produk berdasarkan skor N-Gain yaitu 0,47 dengan interpretasi tingkat peningkatan sedang. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, multimedia pembelajaran berbasis Smart Apps Creator terintegrasi Profil Pelajar Pancasila valid, praktis, serta efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematis. Selanjutnya, produk perlu dikembangkan lebih lanjut dengan menambahkan materi, soal, format output aplikasi, serta lebih difokuskan pada literasi matematis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat persepsi siswa terhadap penggunaan game edukasi dalam pembelajaran matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan melibatkan 150 siswa sebagai responden. Kuisioner persepsi digunakan dengan indikator Kepuasan, Keyakinan, Harapan, Preferensi, Penilaian, dan Pengalaman yang telah memenuhi validitas dan reabilitas instrumen. Analisis deskriptif digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi pola dan karakteristik dari data yang dikumpulkan dengan tujuannya adalah untuk menjelaskan fenomena yang diteliti dari segi statistik, dan bukan untuk menguji hipotesis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa merasa puas dan yakin bahwa penggunaan game edukasi dapat membantu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika dan memotivasi mereka untuk belajar dengan harapan yang tinggi terhadap penggunaan game edukasi dalam pembelajaran matematika di masa depan. Sementara itu, preferensi siswa juga cukup tinggi dengan penilaian positif terhadap manfaat penggunaan game edukasi dalam meningkatkan pemecahan masalah matematika dan keterlibatan aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Namun, beberapa siswa juga mengungkapkan kebutuhan akan panduan yang lebih jelas dalam menggunakan game edukasi serta penyesuaian konten game dengan kurikulum dan tingkat kesulitan yang sesuai. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya upaya dalam meningkatkan ketersediaan game edukasi yang sesuai agar manfaat penggunaan game edukasi dapat lebih optimal dalam pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

Inclusive schools are organized by the government in order to provide opportunities to all students regardless of conditions and backgrounds. Deaf as individuals who have barriers and special needs are still discriminated against so that they cannot study in inclusive schools due to lack of facilities and knowledge of the learning process of deaf students, especially mathematics subjects. The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation and obstacles to the mathematics learning process of deaf students in inclusive schools. The method used is a qualitative descriptive research method. The results of the research obtained include: 1) at the learning planning stage mathematics teachers maked unit planners while shadow teacher maked IEP; 2) at the stage of learning implementation the learning system given to deaf students is the same as other regular students, mathematics teachers used clear lip gestures in explaining, and deaf students was accompanied by shadow teacher during the learning process; 3) at the evaluation stage, the evaluation questions given to deaf students was the same as other regular students; 4) GPK is constrained in how to explain the material to deaf students, set strategies in providing motivation and providing consequences when deaf students are lazy, and teachers must be ready to re-explain the material that has been delivered. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PJBL) terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode Quasi Exsperimen. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes. Analisis data menggunakan uji Ancova. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari siswa SMA Negeri 6 Kepahiang kelas XI IPA 1 dan XI IPA 2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Kovariat kemampuan awal memiliki pengaruh yang linier terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa sebesar 10,6%, (2) Terdapat pengaruh model penbelajaran berbasis proyek (PJBL) terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis sebesar 52,6%. (3) Ada pencapaian kemampuan literasi siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 6 Kepahiang yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PjBL) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

This paper reports a review of the Mathematics Education literature related to exponential and logarithmic functions and mathematical connections. Mainly, it seeks to answer the question: What is the current state of research related to exponential and logarithmic functions and mathematical connections in the field of Mathematics Education? To answer it, the systematic review was used as a method, through which a search for research focused on the preselected theme was carried out and analyzed taking into account, mainly, the objective, theoretical approach, contribution, and the reported results. This allowed, among other things, to identify what had been done to date and what would be viable studies to carry out. The results indicate that there is still much to explore in the line of mathematical connections, in addition to the need to carry out designs close to the teacher's practice, which promotes the understanding of exponential and logarithmic functions in students, based on the making of mathematical connections.
