Abstract

Chili pepper has the characteristics of rapid rot and large shrinkage that can cause production risks. Fluctuating prices of chili pepper also makes high-risk of chili pepper farming. Farmers' strategy to overcome them is to build a partnership with Binamitra Hortikultura Multiagro Makmur. Market guarantees and prices and facilities provided make farmers more motivated to cultivate chili pepper. The existence of farmer motivation in chili pepper farming is able to increase productivity so that can increase income of chili pepper farmers. The purpose of this research discusses: partnership pattern between  chili’s farmers and Binamitra Multiagro Makmur, correlation between farmer’s characteristic with  farmer’s motivation, and correlation between motivation with farmer income of chili pepper farmers that are partnered with Binamitra Hortikultura Multiagro Makmur Ambulu District Jember Regency, East Java. Sampling method is total sampling, that is chili pepper farmers who are partnered with Binamitra Hortikultura Multiagro Makmur with a total number of 32 farmers. Data collection was done by interview, observation, and documentation study. The research method that is used are descriptive and analytical analysis. Data analysis to determine the correlation between farmer’s characteristic with  farmer’s motivation and correlation between motivation with income of chili pepper farmers uses Rank Spearman. The results were: (1) the sub-contract partnership pattern were used by farmers and  Binamitra Hortikultura Multiagro Makmur, (2) there is a significant correlation between age, formal education, and cropland area with farmer motivation while the number of family dependents and experience have acorrelation that is not significant with farmer motivation, and (3) there is a significant correlation between motivation and income of chili pepper farmers.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the EmpowermentMovement of Integrated Farmers; the extension agents’ competence related with EmpowermentMovement of Integrated Farmers; the factors that affecting the competence of extension agents, to examine the effect of factors that affecting the competence of extension agents with extension agents’ competence. The location of the study was determined purposively because of the presence of EMIF, where the focus of this movement is the empowerment of farmer groups while there are still many farmer groups that are in the beginner class. The population of this research is the extension agents whose working area is in the same sub district with farmers group on the beginner class. The sampling method was done with total sampling is32 people. Data analysis using multiple linear regressions. The extension agents’ competence in compiling the program is low; The extension agents’ competence in preparing the materials, establishing media, agribusiness consulting services, evaluating the implementation of extension, evaluating the impact of extension, conducting the assessment is moderate; The extension agents’ competence in the application of the method is high; (3) Factors that affecting the extension agents’ competence the ability to mobilizing the group (X1); personality (X2); The attitude of extension agents’ (X3); The extension agents’counseling skills (X4); motivation(X6) are moderate; The extension agents’ experience (X5) is very low. (4) There is a significant influence between the counseling skills and the motivation with the extension agents’ competence and there is no significant influence between the ability to mobilizing the group, personality, attitude of extension agents’ and experience with extension agents’ competence.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the factors that shape the attitudes of the community, to know the attitude of the community, to analyze the relationship between the factors that shape the public attitudes, and to analyze the differences of people's attitudes toward the economic impacts of the people who live close to the restoration site with the people who live far from Location of restoration of ecological restoration of mangrove forest. The location of the study was determined purposively. The sampling method used is proportional random sampling, with sample number 60 Marunda Pulo community. The result of the research shows that: (1) There is a significant relationship between the attitude of the community with the influence of others who are considered important. While there is a non-significant relationship between the attitude of the community towards age, type of work, formal education, non-formal education, and mass media exposure. (2) There is a significant difference between the attitude of the people whose location is 400 meters away from the coast with the attitude of the people whose residence is more than 400 meters from the beach.

Abstract

This study examines to find out the influence of characteristic innovation and social system toward the adoption rate of Integrated Crop Management (PTT) technology of rice in Kebakkramat Sub District Karanganyar Regency. The basic method of research is explanatory method with survey technique. The location of study was determined purposively in Kebakkramat Sub-district of Karanganyar Regency with the consideration that Kebakkramat Sub District is one of the sub-districts implementing Integrated Crop Management (PTT) program and the sub district has the lowest rice productivity among the two other sub districts namely Tasikmadu and Jaten Sub Districts implementing GP-PTT in Karanganyar Regency. The sampling method used is proportional random sampling, with a sample size of 60 farmers. Data analysis using path analysis. The results showed that: (1) there is significant influence between characteristic innovation, social system and motivation simultaneously toward adoption of integrated crop management innovation. (2) there is significant influence between characteristic innovation toward adoption of integrated crop management innovation greater if it is compared through motivation, there is significant influence between social system toward adoption of integrated crop management innovation greater if it is compared through motivation and there is significant influence between motivation to adoption of integrated crop management innovation.

Abstract

Norm in Sub district Sekar which requires each family maintain a minimum of one cow bringing the total number of cattle population in Sub District Sekar many as 7.676 cows. Livestock raising cattle in Karya Unggul Livest ock Group is carried out jointly with the colony cages as many as 54 cows. A cow can emit feces weighing 25 kg / day (Sihombing, 2000 in Alex S, Without the Year). It should therefore be able to produce compost herd weighing 1.350 kg / day. But the manure waste has not been used and simply discarded. Therefore, to improve the ability of farmers to do the class learned about composting. The purpose of this research was to determine the increase in the capabilities of Karya Unggul Livestock Group in composting through classroom learning. The method used is qualitative descriptive approach. The data collection is done by observation, interviews, focus group discussions, documentation. The research location determined by purposive, namely in group Livestock Karya Unggul In the village Sekar Sub District Sekar District Bojonegoro. The sample used in the census, cosnist of 60 responden. The results showed that increasing the capabilities of livestock group as classroom learning starts from: 1) Planning Study, 2) Implementation of Learning, and 3) Evaluation of Learning. Their classroom learning about composting expected farmers can apply compost processing technology that has been studied and used as a basic fertilizer plant.

Abstract

Population of Kaligesing goat in Purworejo indicates the number continues to increase from year to year. However, increasing in population is not accompanied by an increase in the quality of Kaligesing goat. The objective of the study is to know how adaptation of government communication system on increasing quality of Kaligesing goat in Purworejo regency. The theory of the study is communication system in perspective of Niklas Luhmann. The study was used explorative case study method. Population of this study was conducted in Purworejoregency as the centerof Kaligesing goat farming.The technique of collecting data is using indepth interview and observation. The result of the study showed that government communication system was produce and reproduce information as regulation. Those information was used to solved environment complexity in the form of decreasing of Kaligesing goat quality. Government communication system wasn’t effective on reducting and selecting environment information. So, information was produced by system not solved environment complexity. Government communication system encountering environmental complexity evolved into an unadaptive system.
