Abstract

Early observations made on the Indonesian language teacher, Henny Indriany, S.Pd. at SMAN 3 Medan, explained that the assessment instrument carried out by the teacher was only on the selected assessment technique according to the characteristics or abilities of students. Whereas the assessment process in writing scientific papers is very good and effective if the principles of this assessment are considered when the teacher is: (1) there are clear restrictions on what is prioritized for assessment. (2) the selected assessment technique must be in accordance with the characteristics or abilities to be measured. (3) comprehensive assessment requires various types of assessment techniques. (4) should be aware that the assessment techniques used have limitations. (5) the assessment must be used to improve the learning achievement of students. Data regarding the quality of the character assessment instrument based on rational data (validator assessment) is taken using a validation sheet filled in by experts in the field of educational assessment, and the preparation of a psychological scale. The expert validation sheet consists of four answer scores, namely 1, 2, 3, and 4. The number of questions is 20 items so that the range of scores obtained is between 20-80. The results obtained are converted into the following eligibility criteria. Learning Indonesian, especially writing poetry based on character education which is served to students, aims to train students to be skilled in language, especially writing by expressing ideas and feelings creatively and critically. Learning to write poetry in high school according to the 2013 Curriculum aims to improve the skills of students in appropriate and creative language, increase the ability to think logically, critically and reason, and increase the sensitivity of feelings and the ability of students to understand and implement the values of character education in everyday life. day and in the school environment.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of interactive multimedia-based learning models internalized in life skills education that can improve learning outcomes of students in thematic lessons. This research uses a qualitative research approach. Data are analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques to determine the effectiveness of interactive multimedia based learning models in life skills education. The results show that the implementation of an interactive multimedia-based learning model with internalized life skills education involve the realm of personal skills, namely smiling, greeting, and being polite every day in the school environment at primary school of IT Al-Fitrah Binjai. On the other hand, the realm of academic skills involve the variants of learning methods by developing skills that are adjusted to the basic competency standards on the subject of teaching and learning activities.  Internalized interactive multimedia-based learning models in life skills education can improve cognitive abilities, affective, and psychomotor students.  By internalizing life skills education can improve student learning outcomes, so it is very effective to use.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the developing. The form of teaching materials used by teachers is still based on textbooks provided in schools, namely books from the Ministry of Education and Culture. Another factor that influences the lack of developed teaching materials is creativity to plan, prepare and make teaching materials. This is also confirmed in Prastowo's book (2015: 14), that the general paradigm and perception inherent among educators is that making teaching materials is a difficult and stressful job. So, the teacher is reluctant to think about finding out how to develop teaching materials. This research was conducted at the Pulau Rakyat Private Junior High School, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra to grade VII students. The implementation of this research was carried out in the even semester of 2019. The results of the effectiveness of teaching materials for writing descriptive text based on local wisdom of Pulau Rakyat on a limited trial were 32 students of class VII of the Private Island Private Junior High School, namely the results of the pretest trial obtained an average score of 69.5 with sufficient category. Meanwhile, the student learning outcomes after using the teaching materials to write descriptive texts based on the local wisdom of the Island of the People / postest with an average score of 77.3 in a good category.
