Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes by using the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) cooperative learning model in statistical material in class X ATPH-1 SMK Gotong Royong. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research design used is the design of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The data collected in each research activity were analyzed descriptively using the percentage technique. The data includes student activity data, student learning outcomes, and teaching activities in implementing the TAI-type cooperative learning model. The results showed that there was an increase in student activity in learning with a percentage of 87.5%, teacher activity also increased by a percentage of 89.46% and student learning outcomes also experienced an increase which scored above 75 as many as 15 people with an average percentage of 85 % while those who scored below 75 or incomplete were 2 people with an average percentage of 15%. So in the first cycle of student activity and the average student learning outcomes have met the indicators of the success of the action.

Abstract

Motivation has a very important role in encouraging students to study with full attention and concentration in receiving lessons so that the expected learning objectives can be achieved, one of which is indicated by increased learning outcomes. This research aimed to know the effect of motivation on students' mathematics learning outcomes. This type of research is a correlational study using a survey method. The event surveyed in this study is the effect of motivation on students' mathematics learning outcomes in the new normal era. The subjects of this study were 115 students from one of the state junior high schools in Batam City who were selected using a random sampling technique. Data collection techniques in this research used a questionnaire. The data collected is data about students' motivation and mathematics learning outcomes which were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that the average value of student learning outcomes was in the medium category, which was 65.48. While the value of the percentage of students' learning motivation on each criterion shows that students have a high enough learning motivation during the mathematics learning process. Meanwhile, based on the results of the correlation test, shows a positive relationship with the correlation value, which is in the low category.

The purpose of this study was to improve the understanding of mathematical concepts of students through Realistic Mathematics Education. Learning model assisted by teaching aids on cube and block material. This research is classroom action research. The research subjects were class VIIIA students for the 2021/2022 academic year with 26 people. The techniques used in data collection are observation and tests. The data analysis technique in this study is data analysis of teacher observations, student observations and tests of understanding mathematical concepts. The research procedure includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The study consisted of 2 cycles. Realistic Mathematics Education learning assisted by teaching aids on cube and block material, as long as this research has been running according to the learning implementation plan, has succeeded in creating a conducive learning situation, and increasing students' understanding of concepts. The results showed that the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the first cycle was 50% less criteria, and in the second cycle, 81% good criteria. The results of observations of teachers' teaching skills when managing learning has increased. In the first cycle, it reached 69.12% good criteria, while the second cycle reached 85.28% excellent criteria. The results of observations of student learning activities have increased. From the first cycle, the percentage is 63.75 good criteria, while the second cycle is 83.75% excellent criteria.

Abstract

This article discusses the relationship between students' cognitive style and mathematical problem-solving abilities in the number pattern material carried out at SMP Negeri 1 Botupingge in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The research method used is a survey method with a correlational approach, with a questionnaire instrument to determine students' cognitive style and problem-solving tests to measure students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. The results showed that the correlation coefficient between students' cognitive styles and mathematical problem-solving abilities was 0.60, which means that there is a relationship between students' cognitive styles and mathematical problem-solving abilities at a high level. The coefficient of determination of 0.36 indicates that 36% of the contribution of cognitive style to the improvement of mathematical problem-solving abilities, and the remaining 64% is determined by other factors.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical creative thinking skills of SMP Negeri 1 Dungaliyo students on triangle material using descriptive methods. The subjects of this study were the seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Dungaliyo in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 academic year, as many as 27 students. The instrument used in this study was a test to obtain data on mathematical creative thinking skills and interviews to complement and strengthen the information derived from giving tests on triangle material that had been empirically validated. To see students' mathematical creative thinking skills, 4 indicators are used, namely 1). Smoothness (fluency); 2) Dexterity (flexibility); 3). Authenticity (authenticity); 4). Details (description). The data analysis technique used in this research is percentage analysis. Based on the data obtained for indicators of skill (fluency) of 50.93%, flexibility (flexibility) of 46.14%, originality of 33.33%, and details (elaboration).

Abstract

This research is a type of research and development that aims to develop and test the effectiveness of using smartphone-based interactive multimedia products using smart apps creator (SAC), which was developed through the development of the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects were teachers and students of class X IPA 1 SMAN 4 Gorontalo, as many as 28 students. The product is considered suitable for use based on the validity criteria from the assessment of the material, media, and learning design experts. The product is also considered effective based on the learning outcomes of students with a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design. From the results of statistical analysis with the paired sample T-test where the value of  is 12,560 and the value of  is 2,05183, then . So, the hypothesis that there are differences in learning outcomes before using the product and after using the multimedia product is accepted. Then the effectiveness category is determined through the gain score test with the average gain score of 0.62 with a moderate classification and for the average percentage gain score of 62.25% with a fairly effective category.

Abstract

This article discusses the effectiveness of online learning in the mathematics education study program at the State University of Gorontalo. It intends to describe the effectiveness of online learning in the mathematics education study program. This research uses descriptive quantitative research methods and data collection techniques by distributing questionnaires and observations. The results showed that the effectiveness of online learning in the mathematics education study program at the State University of Gorontalo was effective. The effectiveness is indicated by the results of observations that meet the effectiveness criteria. The analysis of the questionnaire obtained based on three aspects is in the fairly good category, namely the learning planning aspect with a percentage of 76.67% classified in the good enough category, and the online learning activity aspect with a percentage of 73.11% is classified in the good enough category, aspects of media and online learning facilities with a percentage of 64.83% classified in the fairly good category. This result means that online learning can be an effective learning alternative if it has a good learning plan, interesting learning activities, as well as supporting and adequate media and facilities.

Abstract

This article discusses the Effect of the Probing Prompting Learning Model on Students’ Learning Outcomes in a Rectangular topic to know the differences in learning outcomes of students whose learning uses the Probing Prompting Learning Model and learning outcomes of students whose learning uses the direct Learning Model in Rectangular topic. The method used is an experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling and the technique of data collection through tests in the form of essays. The result of the research showed that there were differences in learning outcomes of students whose learning uses the Probing Prompting Learning Model and learning outcomes of students whose learning uses the direct Learning Model, whereas learning outcomes of students whose learning uses the Probing Prompting Learning Model were higher than learning outcomes of students whose learning uses direct Learning Model in Rectangular Topic. Probing prompting can guide students to express their ideas so that a process of thinking can generate each student's knowledge and experience.
