Abstract

This article is a description of the process of protecting a designer’s intellectual property through registration with the European Union Intellectual Property Office or EUIPO or through relying on the status of an Unregistered Community Design. The article discusses the registration process as well as the process of invalidation and considers issues relating to the enforcement of rights. Finally, the article focuses on whether a complaint about possible copyright infringement may be lodged against an online retailer or an online e-commerce website that offers unlicensed sales or unauthorized copies of a designer’s design by utilizing the descriptions or photographs of the designer.

Abstract

Attention to issues of inequality and convergence has become a topic of considerable interest in both developing and developed economies. The purpose of this paper is to study empirically the evolution of the disparities between more than 360 Maghreb regions considering spatial dependence and to explore a non-parametric approach for characterizing convergence of GDP per capita. This study utilizes growth theory as the theoretical foundation to explore the convergence hypothesis. The methodology consists of identifying the shape of the long-run spatial associations through the use of Markov chains which make it possible to derive a unique stationary distribution related to the transition matrix. The results of the analysis indicate the persistence of regional disparities and the importance of geography to explain the global convergence process with positive spatial spillover effects. The proportion of high-income regions surrounded by similar regions has significantly increased detrimentally to the other spatial associations. This non-parametric approach complements the standard parametric method (absolute and conditional beta-convergence) which shows that the slow convergence process can be accelerated by beneficial spatial interaction effects. These results have strong policy implications with regard to national and territorial policies in these countries.

Abstract

This study aims 1) to determine the implementation of promotions carried out by PT. Wahana Tata Insurance, 2) to determine the relationship between promotions and company sales, 30 to find out how much the contribution of promotional costs affects sales results, and 4) how big the role or influence caused by the implementation of promotions to increase sales volume. This study uses primary data from company reports and direct observations of the company's operational activities. The study used simple linear regression analysis and the regression coefficient significance test. The study results indicate that from the calculation of correlation analysis, the correlation coefficient is positive at 0.87, which means that the relationship between promotional costs and company sales results is very strong and positive. The calculation of the determinant coefficient analysis shows that promotional activities' contribution to the company's sales results is 75.69%, which means that the contribution of promotional costs is very significant to the company's sales results. From the correlation significance test, the t value is 3.057, greater than the t-table of 2.353, which means that the relationship between the promotion costs and sales results is strong and significant. And from the calculation of the simple linear regression analysis and the regression coefficient signification test, it is known that the t-count is 3.022, when compared to the t-table is 2.353. This is concluded that t-count is greater than t-table, which means that there is a strong and significant influence between promotion costs and sales results

This study aims to analyze social media marketing, electronic word of mouth, and consumer attachment to brand loyalty in Grab Indonesia. The research design used is quantitative research with a causal approach that examines the effect of exogenous variables (social media marketing, electronic word of mouth, and consumer attachment) on endogenous variables (brand loyalty). The population in this study were consumers of social media followers (Instagram) grab with an infinite number, therefore sampling was carried out using purposive sampling with the consideration of respondents as followers of Instagram grab with a minimum period of following is 6 months and has given "likes" to the grab Instagram posts. The sample used in this study were consumers of online transportation companies (grab) as many as 300 respondents. This research analysis tool uses a structural equation model (SEM). The results showed that the exogenous variables (social media marketing, electronic word of mouth, and consumer attachment) positively and significantly affect endogenous variables (brand loyalty). The variable that has the highest value in influencing brand loyalty is social media marketing. Meanwhile, the variable that directly influences brand loyalty with the lowest regression coefficient is electronic word of mouth.

Abstract

Unemployment affects individuals socially, personally, and economically. The impact of being jobless can be long-lasting. Five different generations participate in the workplace today. As countries throughout the world went into lockdown to combat the spread of Covid-19, unemployment numbers rose rapidly. This study aimed to examine the effects of unemployment in three-generation groups in V4 and Austria in the pre-Covid-19 era and during Covid-19. Descriptive statistics were used to present the collected data. OECD data were used for the analysis. Based on the data collected, unemployment decreases with age. The group aged 15-24 shows significantly higher unemployment than the other two groups. A gender difference in unemployment was confirmed only in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Unemployment has increased during the Covid-19 pandemic. The unemployment gap for females before and during Covid-19 was not confirmed. The T-Test confirmed the difference in unemployment before and during the crisis in the age categories 15-24 and 25-54. In Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia, the number of people with a duration of employment of up to one year differs in all age categories. In the Czech Republic, there is a significant difference only between the youngest group and the other two. In all countries, the largest number of people with the employment of up to one year is in the age group 25-54. In none of the examined countries was a gender unemployment gap proved before Covid-19.

Accountants have embraced the emission of automation over many years to get better the efficiency and effectiveness of their work. But technology has not been able to replace the need for expert knowledge and decision-making. Earlier generations of ‘intelligent systems have usually demonstrated the progressing power of human expertise and the restrictions of machines. In the upcoming decades, intelligent systems must take over more and better decision-making tasks from humans. These are underlying tasks that once required the input of a human. Focusing on how artificial intelligence will impact accountants, AI will very soon help the organization to automate much of the routine and repetitive activities that are undertaken on a daily, weekly or annual basis.
