Abstract

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has raised psychosocial problems such as anxiety. Anxiety is a physiological response that arises due to the stressor experienced. Efforts to overcome these psychosocial problems are to provide Covid 19 Psychosocial Mental Health Support (DKJPS Covid 19), one of which is in the form of five-finger relaxation. This community service aims to provide psychosocial mental health support by increasing the participant's ability to perform five-finger relaxation. Methods: The method provides online training (in the network). Partners in this activity are residents of Gang Gelatik Batuyang Batubulan. The stages of implementing activities include pre-activities, activities and evaluations. Results: The results of this activity show that the participants' psychosocial mental health conditions are in good condition, service participants can do five-finger relaxation and are enthusiastic about participating in activities to provide support for mental health and psychosocial Covid 19. Conclusion: Five-finger relaxation can be applied daily as psychosocial mental health support Covid 19.

Abstract

Background: The community and the elderly, in particular, are expected to apply health protocols in the new average era to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. One of the efforts to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 in the elderly is to take promotive and preventive steps, including providing education to the elderly. Methods: The method of implementing community service activities with lectures and questions and answers about health protocols and efforts for healthy elderly, doing physical activity in the form of yoga relaxation exercises, and providing healthy supplementary food for the elderly. The counseling participants were elderly in RW 8, Kebakkalang, Kemiri Village, Kebakkramat District. Results: Counseling activities were carried out during September 2021 with 19 elderly participants. Participants can demonstrate directly the health protocols, such as steps to use hand sanitizer and washing hands. Participants also carry out yoga relaxation exercises for 30 minutes by keeping a distance between the elderly from one another. Conclusion: The results of this community service activity are expected to increase the knowledge of the elderly about preventing the occurrence of Covid-19 infection. The elderly can apply health protocols in every daily activity, improve physical fitness and become healthy and happy elderly.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia ranks 14th with COVID-19 cases in the world. The immune system could be a bulwark against COVID-19. Exercise, balanced nutrition, and herbal deformity is way to maintain and improve the work of the immune system. The immune system could be increase with a potential of ginger, turmeric, lime, and galangal. This training aims to train mothers of family empowerment and welfare in RT 02/RW 09 Danguran Village about traditional ingredients to increase endurance. Methods: Training on immune-enhancing ingredients to mothers of family empowerment and welfare by Pharmacy students from the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health of Surakarta on Friday 11 February 2022 at RT 02/RW 09, Danguran Village, South Klaten, and a T-test was carried out with the result of pretest and post test. Results: The pre-test result was 84.23% and the post-test was 95.38% with the t-test result was 0.02. These results indicate a significant change in knowledge between before and after being given training because t-count <0.05. Conclusion: There is an increase in the knowledge of mothers of family empowerment and welfare RT 02/ RW 09 Danguran Village about traditional ingredients to increase endurance.

Abstract

Background: Most people take self-medication to treat fever without a medical examination. It has the potential medication errors caused by unfair practices. To avoid medication errors, knowledge of fever self-medication among PKK members in Hamlet Bentakan RW 13, Danguran Village, South Klaten District, Klaten Regency, needed to be increased. Methods: The research methodology was descriptive. Thirty-four (34) respondents took action. Before the counseling activity, a pretest was administered to respondents—counseling used leaflet media. A post-test was done after the counseling and training. The pretest and post-test were carried out using a question sheet containing 20 questions about self-medication, health workers guiding self-medication, fever, fever medicine and the proper use of fever medicine. Increased knowledge was calculated by the percentage increase in the number of respondents at the level of certain knowledge categories after counseling. Results: The respondents' knowledge level was in the good and sufficient categories. The level of knowledge in the good category before the counseling was 79.4% respondents, while after the counseling was 97.1% respondents. There was an increase in the level of knowledge in the good category of respondents by 17.7%. In contrast, 20.6% of respondents had sufficient knowledge before the counseling. Respondents with a sufficient level of knowledge reduced after the counseling because the knowledge increased towards good by 6 respondents (17.7% of respondents). The respondent's level of knowledge increased following counseling compared to their knowledge before counseling. Age, education, and occupation all affect one's level of knowledge. Conclusion: Respondents suggested being more selective in choosing and using drugs and asking for complete information from pharmacists or pharmaceutical technical personnel. This counseling is suggested to be carried out regularly in various other villages to reduce errors in self-medication practices.

Abstract

Background: The prognosis of stroke after an attack is very diverse. Some can recover, as usual, and some live with residual symptoms such as mild to severe disability. However, a stroke for the first time has a significant risk of a repeat attack. So it is necessary to make lifestyle modifications to the risk factors they have, one of which is through the community movement (GERMAS) in the form of education about the CERDIK and PATUH Healthy Lifestyle, which synergizes with this PKM, which is to increase the understanding of families and post-stroke sufferers so that they behave to improve their lifestyle so that it can prevent recurrent strokes. Methods: This community service is carried out to anticipate recurrent stroke events, which involves the community service team from Stikes Wika and people with stroke who still need to understand managing risk factors for recurrent attacks. Community service is conducted offline through counseling with activity partners under the auspices of the Amaranne Foundation. (Tapasya Stroke Center) Tabanan Bali. Results: Of community service activities, people with stroke can change their behavior for the better after knowing how to prevent repeated attacks, with a post-test score of 72% on good points. Conclusion: This illustrates that understanding stroke survivors and their families will stimulate a healthy lifestyle without repeated attacks.

Abstract

Background: Birth balls are common among mothers giving birth, but mothers who know them for the first time are generally afraid to use them. Training for pregnant women can increase their knowledge about the use of birth balls, and the mothers are skilled at the delivery time. This community service aims to train pregnant women to use birth balls to reduce labor pain. Methods: The form of activity is birth ball training for pregnant women to reduce labor pain in Sumberrejo Pringsewu Village. The activity is carried out in January 2022 every Tuesday, and we are at 09.00 WIB until it is finished. The target of this community service is 30 pregnant women. The service team and the Village Midwife work together to arrange the activities schedule and the birth ball training implementation. Results: pregnant women's skills in using birth balls before service was 52.19 (6.33), then increased after service to 84.4 (2.71). Statistical tests show that community service activities for pregnant women effectively improve mothers' skills using birth balls in pain management. Conclusion: This skill improvement is important for pregnant women so that pregnant women are accustomed to using a birth ball during delivery. Mothers are also proficient in doing movements using a birth ball which helps reduce pain, and the duration of labor becomes faster.

Abstract

Background: Premature birth occurs before 37 weeks of complete gestation, weighs less than 2,500 grams, and is the main cause of newborn death and the second cause of death in children under five. Premature babies are at higher risk for illness, disability, and death. Changes in heart rate in premature babies can occur after being given a recording of the mother's voice, which contains 3 types: speaking, reading, and singing. The results showed an effect of recording the mother's voice on changes in heart rate in premature infants. This community service activity aims to increase nurses' knowledge about the importance of the mother's voice on changes in the heart rate of premature babies. Methods: Community service activities were carried out twice. The first activity was carried out through a zoom meeting which explained the importance of the mother's voice in premature babies with the help of PowerPoint media. Then continued, the second activity in the form of a demonstration of Mother's voting. Results: The pre-test showed that 9 nurses (100%) had less knowledge about the importance of the mother's voice for the heart rate of premature babies. After receiving education and demonstration regarding the mother's voting, the post-test results were that 7 nurses (78%) had good knowledge and 2 nurses (22%) had poor knowledge. Conclusion: Nurses become aware of the importance of the mother's voice in increasing the heart rate of premature babies.

Abstract

Background: The mortality rate in Indonesia, particularly in Bantul, remains quite high. Recognizing signs and symptoms of emergency cases in pregnant women and their families and midwives' preparedness as the community's spearhead of health services is essential in dealing with emergency cases of pregnant women. Methods: The lecture method, question and answer, and practical skills for midwives are used. The achievement of the activity is evaluated by analyzing the knowledge of pregnant women and midwives both before and after the activity. The T-test was used to analyze the data. Results: The results obtained are quite satisfactory. It was demonstrated by the high level of interest displayed by the participants during the question and answer session. Quantitative results from statistical tests revealed a significant increase in knowledge in pregnant women (53.90 21.97 vs. 89.47 9.7; P 0.000) and local health centre midwives (72.60 7.04 vs. 79.46 7.21; P 0.001). Conclusion: There was an increase in pregnant women's knowledge of recognizing the signs and dangers of pregnancy and midwives' knowledge and skills in terms of early detection and emergency treatment of pregnant women at community health centres.

Abstract

Background: The development of the digital era makes routine and quality data integration an essential component in realizing digital transformation. One data that must be maintained is the Electronic Medical Record (RME). Wates Hospital is currently testing the implementation of RME and requires technical assistance in digitizing medical records in paper to electronic form. Digitization is necessary to ensure the patient's medical history information continuity. The digitization of medical records is expected to support the successful implementation of RME in Wates Hospital. Methods: Solutions are carried out in solving partner problems through training and science and technology substitution. Training activities are carried out by providing counseling, demonstrations, and training to operate scanner equipment. The substitution of science and technology in this PKM is by offering new science and technology to digitize medical records to replace the old science and technology mastery. Results: The activity is divided into 3 stages, starting with providing training related to the procedure for digitizing medical records, then assisting officers during the digitization process of medical records, and ending with accompanying the reflection process to evaluate the success of digitizing medical records. Pre-test and post-test showed an increase in the "Good" category by 58.3% Conclusion: To ensure the success of digitizing medical records, demonstrations were carried out starting from sorting medical record forms that need to be scanned (functional), simulating how to scan, saving files so that they are easy to identify, to importing image files over media on RME.

Abstract

Background: Golden age period is the time when the child's brain develops very rapidly and is the fastest in absorbing all information. The golden age period is vital or very important in a cycle. This activity aims to educate cadres as a partner of midwives to monitor the golden age period of growth and development. Methods: This activity was held at the Hall of Puskesmas Sulamadaha, starting with a pre-test, followed by the distribution of booklets to 30 cadres from 6 posyandu, an explanation related to the use of booklets about the role of cadres in the golden age period, discussions and questions and answers, then ended with the provision of post-tests. Results: The pre-test of health cadres showed that 2 people (6,7%) have poor knowledge, 22 people (73.3%) have moderate knowledge, and 6 people (20.0%) have good knowledge. Post-test of health cadres showed that 6 people (20.0%) have moderate knowledge and 24 (80.0%) have good knowledge. So, the knowledge of cadres increases after using this media. Conclusion: It is recommended that cadres can carry out and apply and continue to increase knowledge about the role in the golden age period using the booklets that have been distributed.
