Fokus dan cakupan SIMBIOSA secara deteil sebagai berikur: Pendidikan Biologi, mencakup : pembelajaran Biologi untuk sekolah menengah, dan perguruan tinggi; teknologi pembelajaran Biologi; pengembangan profesionalisme guru bidang studi Pendidikan Biologi; pembelajaran Biologi inovatif dengan menerapkan berbagai pendekatan seperti pendekatan realistik, pendekatan CTL, dan sebagainya. Sain Biologi mencakup Biologi molekuler; Bio-Ekologi; Biodiversiti; Konservasi dan bidang kajian lain yang relevan dengan Biologi dalam arti luas. Jurnal ini diterbitkan dua kali dalam setahun (Juli dan Desember). Artikel yang sudah diterima dan siap dipublikasikan melalui online (early view) secara bertahap serta versi cetaknya akan diedarkan pada akhir periode penerbitan online.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa laki-laki dengan siswa perempuan dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif model mind mapping di kelas VII di SMP IT Nurul Muhajirin Data penelitian yang diperoleh adalah hasil belajar siswa laki-laki dan siswa perempuan pada kelas VII yang mengikuti proses pembelajaran dengan pokok bahasan klasifikasi makhluk hidup. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis eksperimen. Adapun yang menjadi variabel bebas adalah penerapan pada pembelajaran kooperatif model mind mapping (X) sedangkan variabel terikat adalah hasil belajar pada siswa laki-laki (Y1) dan siswa perempuan (Y2). Data penelitian diambil dengan menggunakan tes hasil belajar akhir dari pembelajaran berupa tes pilihan ganda. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata hasil belajar siswa laki-laki 76 dan siswa perempuan 81,57. Uji analisis prasyarat yang dilakukan berupa uji normalitas data dengan menggunakan chi kuadrat dengan harga chi kuadrat hitung untuk siswa laki-laki sebesar 9,9 sedangkan chi kuadrat siswa perempuan sebesar 9,35 sedangkan chi kuadrat tabel untuk keduanya adalah 11,070 (Chi kuadrat hitung harga chi kuadrat tabel)  dengan data normal dan uji homogenitas populasi menggunakan uji F dengan nilai F hitung 1,053 sedangkan F tabel 1,84 dengan data yang homogen. Setelah dilakukan uji t terhadap hasil belajar di dapat thitung = 3,723 dan ttabel =2,02pada taraf nyata 0,05. Dari perhitungan nilai thitung ttabel  berarti kedua kelas sampel memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan, sehingga H0 ditolak dan  Ha diterima. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa perempuan lebih baik dari hasil belajar siswa laki-laki pada  kelas VII menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif model mind mapping. Kata Kunci : Mind Mapping, Hasil belajar siswa laki-laki dan siswa perempuan.

Abstract

This study aims to know the influence of active learning model Course Review Horay to biology learning outcomes at eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Batam academic year 2013/2014. This research design is  randomized experiment using posttest only control-group design. The study population is all the eighth grade students of  SMP Negeri 10 Batam with reached population consist of 7 classes. The sampling technique using a simple random sampling. Samples were selected class VIII5 as control class and VIII8 as experiment class. The instrument  that use in this research is the form of the test. Requirement have been in the form of normality and homogeneity test, which showed that normal and homogeneous data. Technique of data analysis conducted by the t test. The result analysis of data using the t test showed the tvalue 3.01 and ttable is 2.00 (tvalue ttable). The results showed that the active learning result model Course Review Horay give effect to increase student learning outcomes from the average of the experimental class 82,57 and control class 76,04. Thus, the hypothesis put forward acceptable significance level (α = 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that the using of active learning model Course Review Horay influential on learning outcomes of biology at eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Batam. Keywords: Course Review Horay, Biology Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

The purposes of this research to know the significant differences in the learning outcome by using Mind Mapping (X1) and Student Facilitator and Explaining (X2) on ecosystem material. Population in the research are 161 students and the researcher takes two sample of five classes. There are  VII.3 as Mind Mapping class and VII. 5 as Student Facilitator and Explaining class. That use to experiment classes. Data collected using a multiple choice test which consists of 25 question. This research uses T-test  according to data analysis 4.62 2.00 (α) 0.05. it means zero hypothesis (HO) refused and the alternative hypothesis is accepted (HI)  finally the research found that it has significant differences of the student’s learning outcome by using Mind Mapping and Student Facilitator and Explaining on ecosystem material at class in VII SMP Negeri 1 Dabo Singkep school 2013 / 2014 year.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Pembelajaran Kooperatif Student Facilitator And Explaining Terhadap Hasil Belajar Siswa Pada Pembelajaran Biologi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen menggunakan populasi seluruh kelas VIII, SMP dimana sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas VIII5 sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas VIII9 sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan teknik pengambil sampel Cluster Random Sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes hasil belajar dan hasilnya diuji melalui statistik tes “t”.Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif Student Facilitator And Explaining terhadap hasil belajar kelas VIII SMP Negeri 10 Batam pada materi respirasi dan fotosintesis TP 2013/2014. Hasil belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif Student Facilitator And Explaining (X1) dengan nilai rerata (μx1) sebesar 88 lebih besar dari hasil belajar dengan menggunakan metode konvensional/ceramah (X2) dengan rerata (μx2) sebesar 76. Hal ini juga sesuai dengan analisis statistik inferensial yang membuktikan nilai thitung sebesar 8.941 sedangkan nilai ttabel diperoleh sebesar 2.000. Hasil penelitian menerima hasil hipotesis alternatif (Ha), dengan kesimpulan akhir terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif Student Facilitator And Explaining terdahap hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII pada materi respirasi dan fotosintesis di SMP Negeri 10 Batam TP 2013/2014. Kata Kunci : Pembelajaran kooperatif, Student Facilitator And Explaining, Hasil Belajar

Abstract

Innovative teaching material’s varied, interesting, contextual according to the needs of students, one of teaching material is comic. LeDoux (1994) in Porter (2010) who says comics are alternative instructional material for learning, due the involvement of emotions readers will greatly affect memory and will recall lessons learned material. This study aims to produce comic teaching materials. The teaching material are created by using Power Point 2010 and Microsoft program Adobe Photoshop. Type of research is the research and Development (R D) that uses 4D models. This comic is tested to 20 learners Grade VIII SMP Negeri 11 Batam on literary facet, cereal, graphic, communication and interest learners. In terms of literary, performance, appropriateness of content, graphics, software and communication validated by educators in SMP N 11 Batam and Universitas Riau Kepulauan lecturer 6 people. The technique of data collection is administering and exercises in which learner are then description using a Likert’s scale. Feasibility of teaching materials made from the result of the percentage of questionnaire analysis expert lecturer and aducator materials obtained by 83.9%, amounting to 81.6% of media expert, questionnaires learners by 89.05%, and from the analysis of learner training gained mastery learners by 80%. The results showed that this comic worth of teaching materials used on the human respiratory system. Keywords : Development, Comics, Human Respiratory System

Abstract

Bulang districts Batam Islands of  Riau province (Riau Islands), its consists of many islands with as well as having the potential diversity of coastal marine life in particular kinds of macro algae or seaweed. Conducted research aimed to determine the structure of macro- algal communities in the intertidal zone islands. The results of the identification of algal species found 16 species are: the Order of Chlorophyceae as 6 spesies; Order Phaeophyceae as 2 spesies; and Order Rhodophyceae as 8 spesies. The community structure at the five stations showed the highest values were found in the island of dominance Cicir (D ' = 0.79) , uniformity index values on Tengah Island (E ' = 0.99) , while the island Balak had the highest diversity index (H ' = 0.88) , with the abundance patterns of population structure on the island is pretty good Central . Results of correlation analysis of regression between IVI types of algae with the conditions of environmental quality suggests that there is a significance (Fhit ˃ F table and the value of r = 90 %) between IVI algae Halimeda sp and Cryptarachne polyglandulosa at each station with a temperature parameter surface (⁰C) , depth temperature (⁰C) and pH values. Keywords : Algae, Community Structure, Important Value Index.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the type of use of Cooperative Learning Model (TGT) Team Tournament Game Against Student Results. This study is arandomized experiment with design Posttest Only Control Group Design with class VII entirepopulation. The sample in this study is the number of students VIIF class 30as aclass VIID experimental class and the number of students as a control group of 30 people. Sampling using a simple random sample (random sampling), data analysis techniques using ttest. Based on test data analysis instrument of 40 multiple choice questions about  the 32 validated, while the reliability test is high (0.80 to 1.00). Test data results are normal prerequisites of FF table (1.029 1, 860) and homogeneity homogeneous L hitung L table (0.138 0.161), with an average value of 83 experimental class and the average value of the control class 68 shows the hypothesis test resultst (6,89)t table α of 5%(1.70). So that Ha=μ1 ≠ μ2 received whileHo=μ1=μ2 cancel, there are differences TGT cooperative learning model with the lecture method to the learning outcomes of students of class VII in photosynthetic material. Keywords: Cooperative  Learning Model, Type TGT (Team Game Tournament), the Results learning outcomes

Abstract

Research on the effects of cooperative learning with Index Card Match strategies on learning outcomes on the subject of biological plant word class X SMA Negeri 17 Batam school year 2012/3013. This study aims to prove the effect of cooperative learning with Index Card Match strategy to student learning outcomes. This study is was quasi experimental research with randomized Posttest Only Control Group Design. The population in this study was student at class X SMA Negeri 17 Batam, the sample in this which experimental class was X1 and X4 classes was a control class. Sampling was simple random sampling and the analysis data with t-test. Based on the analysis of the data showed that the experimental class had an average of 71,875 was higher than the control class 59,359. Price table = 2,00 while 5,228 t, so ttable tcount that the hypothesis is accepted. It could be concluded that the application of cooperative learning model to strategies Index Card Match had a significant effect on the results of biological studies on the subject of plants word class X SMA Negeri 17 Batam school year 2012/2013. Keyword: Cooperative Learning, Index Card Match, Learning Autcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang Kelimpahan Harimau Sumatera (Panthera tigris Sumatrae Pocock, 1929) di Suaka Alam Malampah Sumatera Barat, telah dilaksanakan dari bulan November 2009 sampai Februari 2010. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metoda pengamatan langsung (Direct Observation) dengan menggunakan perangkap kamera yang diaktifkan selama 10.693,533 jam. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa di Suaka Alam Malampah ditemukan dua individu harimau dengan jenis kelamin jantan dan betina. Kelimpahan harimau yang didapatkan sebesar 0,0016 foto/jam dengan waktu aktif tertinggi terjadi pada pagi hari antara pukul 06.00 sampai 09.00. Kata kunci : Kelimpahan, Perangkap Kamera, Harimau Sumatera
