Abstract

Parenting styles were considered as one of important factors in determining students’ performance in science, especially in elementary school. This study aimed to explain the teacher's questioning skills and student’ responses in science subject based on parenting styles in elementary schools in Batam. This descriptive qualitative research was conducted in the first semester of academic year 2017/2018 and involved four classroom teachers and 109 students. The data collection techniques used were questionnaire and observation. The findings of this study showed that the teacher questioning skills in science subject in elementary schools in Batam were good enough. Meanwhile, the highest frequent parenting style used was authoritarian (94.83%). Yet the style led the students to be less active in learning processes.

Abstract

This research aims to describe teacher's inquiring skills and student responses are reviewed by parenting style of students on science subjects in primary school in Batam. The research was analyzed using qualitative and descrivtive quantitative method. The results showed that the teacher's inquiring skills were quite good. Teachers neededto improved advance inquiring skill in changing the demands of the cognitive level in answering questions from the lowest to the highest level. Teacher needed to improve in probing technique. Several teachers were dominant in providing facts, narrow, convergent, and understand level of questions. The student's response to the teacher's questions showed: (a) categories of student answers were dominated by scientific answers, semi-scientific, zero and false; (b )Not many students could not answer (when teachers asked all students; (c) more students gave answers simultaneously; (d) few students were appointed but unable to answer; (e) many of the appointed students were able to answer; (f) students were confuse to give the right answers on practical learning; (g) few students showed to answered questions and asked the teacher. Data of teacher’s inquiring point (g) were resulted by authoritarian parenting style and showed by the quitionare that 94.83% of their authoritarian parentig style, 18,53% of permissive parenting, and 9,81% of authoritative parenting. It meant authoritarian parenting produced a child who was less confident in his ability that caused of the student could not and would not answer and ask the teacher individually.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Team Games Tournament (TGT) Menggunakan Media Teka-Teki Silang Terhadap Hasil Belajar Siswa. Jenis penelitian ini pre eksperimen. Bentuk desain yaitu the one group pretest posttest desain. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah hanya kelas XI IPA, sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh. Teknik penggumpulan data menggunakan soal objektif pilihan berganda sebelum pembelajaran dimulai dan berakhirnya proses pembelajaran. Uji prasyarat analisis dilakukan dengan uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas. Uji normalitas menggunaka uji kolmogorov smirnov yang diperoleh data berdistribusi normal asymp.sig (2-tailed) 0,193 > 0,05. Uji homogenitas menunjukkan data homogen karena nilai signifikan 0,086 > 0,05. Setelah itu dilanjutkan dengan uji prasayat paired t-test dengan nilai sig.(2-tailed) 0,000<0,05 sehingga Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis dapat disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran team games tournament (TGT) menggunakan media teka-teki silang terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Muhammadiyah Batam.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan membuktikan pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Round club terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VII dalam materi Ekosistem di lingkungan SMP Negeri 35 Batam Tahun Ajaran 2013-2014. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII berjumlah 6 kelas, sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII.5. sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII.6. sebagai kelas kontrol mengunakan teknik simpel random sampling pada Analisis. Data menggunakan uji validitas, reliabilitas, uji normalitas dan uji hipotesis menggunakan Uji t. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa nilai thitung = 2,91 sedangkan nilai ttabel = 2,00 atau T hit T tab.   Berarti Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima dengan  kesimpulan terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Round Club terhadap hasil belajar biologi pokok bahasan Ekosistem di lingkungan siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 35 Batam.

Abstract

This research has been carried out in SMP Negeri 3 Batam is located on the street Kartini II Sekupang, Batam. While time research has been carried out in the second half Academic Year 2012/2013, from March to May of 2013. This study aims to prove the influence of handout materials to increase the skills of the students of class VII on ecosystem material in SMP Negeri 3 Batam Academic Year 2012/2013. Handout is a concise study materials are sourced from some of the literature relevant to the basic competencies and subject matter that is taught to students given by teachers to students to achieve learning goals. While the process skills of learners is the ability to collect information, manage information and communicate the results of using information to achieve learning objectives both on cognitive aspects or psychomotor aspects. Research using quasi-experimental methods. Affordable population is all students of class VII with the target population VII1 class as a class experiment with a treatment using learning materials and classroom handouts VII4 as classroom control by providing a treatment study using conventional materials. Cluster sampling using random sampling techniques. Research data is data science learning outcomes Biological processes in the form of skills, which is obtained using the test results to learn the instrument objective test (multiple choice). Data were analyzed with descriptive statistical analysis techniques and inferential statistical analysis using the t test of the parties at significant level (α.) = 0.05. Based on the analysis of the calculation results obtained descriptive study of students from the class experiment with a mean value of 83.6 and a mean value of 80 control classes. While the calculation of inferential analysis of testing hypotheses derived tcount 2,081 and the value ttable 2, 018. Thus the value of t greater than ttable which means a hypothetical zero (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Overall it can be concluded the research, analysis of the calculation of descriptive and inferential analysis proves that there are significant handout materials to increase the skills of the students of class VII on ecosystem material in SMP Negeri 3 Batam Academic Year 2012/2013.

Abstract

Research on the effects of cooperative learning with Index Card Match strategies on learning outcomes on the subject of biological plant word class X SMA Negeri 17 Batam school year 2012/3013. This study aims to prove the effect of cooperative learning with Index Card Match strategy to student learning outcomes. This study is was quasi experimental research with randomized Posttest Only Control Group Design. The population in this study was student at class X SMA Negeri 17 Batam, the sample in this which experimental class was X1 and X4 classes was a control class. Sampling was simple random sampling and the analysis data with t-test. Based on the analysis of the data showed that the experimental class had an average of 71,875 was higher than the control class 59,359. Price table = 2,00 while 5,228 t, so ttable tcount that the hypothesis is accepted. It could be concluded that the application of cooperative learning model to strategies Index Card Match had a significant effect on the results of biological studies on the subject of plants word class X SMA Negeri 17 Batam school year 2012/2013. Keyword: Cooperative Learning, Index Card Match, Learning Autcomes.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan pendekatan proses keterampilan dapat memberikan pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas VII pada SMP Tunas Baru, dengan materi Klasifikasi Mahluk Hidup. Jumlah siswa yang mengikuti penelitian sebanyak 165 siswa dari total 5 kelas. Sampel diambil dari kelas VII C (XI) dengan perlakuan menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran ketrampilan proses dan  kelas VII D (X2) dengan menggunakan pendekatan konvensional. Peralatan yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah tes dalam bentuk pilihan ganda 25 pertanyaan dengan teknik analisis data menggunakan Uji T tingkat α = 5%. Hasil penelitian rerata nilai post-test XI = 81.00 dan post test X2 = 70,45 dengan hasil Uji T menunjukkan bahwa Thitung = 5,44 Ttabel = 2,00 sehingga hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif diterima (H1). Ada perbedaan yang signifikan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar antara siswa yang dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan ketrampilan proses dengan pendekatan konvensional.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji karakteristik morfometrik dan pola pertumbuhan ikan Bawal hibrida, yang merupakan hasil persilangan induk jantan Bawal bintang (Trachinotus blochii) dan induk betina Bawal emas (Trachinotus sp.). Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian observasi, dengan objek observasi ikan Bawal hibrida pada kelompok calon induk (calin) berumur 7 bulan yang dipelihara di Balai Perikanan Budidaya Laut (BPBL) Batam. Contoh ikan diambil sebanyak 21 ekor dari lubang Karamba Jaring Apung (KJA) dengan metode multi stage random sampling. Ada 19 karakteristik morfometrik yang diamati, yaitu: TL, FL, SL, AL, VL, PL, CL, DL, OH, AH, DBL, PFL, VFL, AFL, CPL, CPD, OL, ED, dan DFH. Analisis korelasi antar karakteristik morfometrik menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 28 korelasi signifikan (P-Value 0.01), dengan nilai korelasi antara 55.1 - 93.6%, korelasi tertinggi terdapat antara TL dan FL. Nilai rata-rata proporsi karakteristik morfometrik adalah: TL/CL sebesar 5.21, TL/PL sebesar 2.91, TL/DL sebesar 2.45, CL/PFL sebesar 1.07, CL/ED sebesar 3.12, AH/OH sebesar 1.19, PL/DL sebesar 0.57, dan DBL/DFH sebesar 2.31. Ikan Bawal hibrida yang dianalisis memiliki Panjang Total (TL) antara 21.0-27.0 cm dan berat antara 152.5-305.1 g. Analisis hubungan panjang-berat memberikan hasil “b” = 2.312, yang artinya pola pertumbuhan bersifat allometrik negatif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar antara model Hands On Activities (HOA) dengan pembelajaran Jigsaw Model Cooperatif (JMK) pada pokok fotosintesis kelasVII SMP Negeri 12 Batam Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian eksperimental, dengan populasi terjangkau semua siswa kelas VII yang terdiri dari 7 kelas. Dalam penelitian ini sebagai sampel terpilih kelas VII.5 sebagai kelas HOA dan kelas VII.6 sebagai kelas JMK serta teknik analisis data mengunakan Uji t tingkat kepercayaan 95% (α = 5%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai hasil belajar kelas HOA adalah 80,62 dan kelas JMK adalah 84,67, Uji t menujukkan nilai thitung = 2,1 ttabel = 1,996 maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Kesimpulan ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa menggunakan Hands On Aktivitas dengan Jigsaw Model Koperasi kelas VII subjek fotosintesis SMP Negeri 12 Batam
