Abstract

Diabetic is a degenerative disease that has become a public concern. Several studies have shown that roselle tea extracts can reduce blood glucose levels by improving the pancreatic glands, and Stevia rebaudiana leaf has zero calorie with a sweetness coming from diterpene glycosides (stevioside and rebaudioside-A) which are safely metabolized in body, so that it can be used as sweetener for diabetics. The purpose of this study was to determine the formula of roselle tea and stevia leaf that is safe for diabetics. Three formulas of ready to drink (RTD) were prepared using 2% (w/v) rosella tea with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5% (w/v) stevia leaf, then the sensory qualities were analyzed including the red color, sweetness, bitterness, off flavor. The selected formula was RTD made from 2% (w/v) roselle tea and 0.3% (w/v) stevia leaf. The RTD had a little bright red color, pretty sweet, no bitter taste, quite off flavor, and total microbes < 2.5 EAPC (compromise with Indonesian Standard Regulation for fruit juice). Carbohydrate content (Anthrone method) of RTD roselle-stevia and roselle-sugar was 0.1507% and 1.3293%. Effect analysis of RTD roselle-stevia and roselle-sugar on blood glucose levels of healthy patients based on ISO 26642:2010 measured every 30 minutes for 90 minutes and using t-test showed that RTD roselle-stevia did not affect (p>0.05) the increase in blood glucose levels, whereas RTD roselle-sugar did (p<0.05). It can be concluded that RTD containing 2% (w/v) roselle tea and 0.3% (w/v) stevia leaf is safe for diabetics.

Abstract

n the process of teaching and learning it will be fun if students have self-efficacy and the teacher has high creativity in teaching. The purpose of this study is to find out how much the relationship between teacher teaching creativity and self-efficacy of fifth grade students at SDN Sukamaju 03 District Cigudeg, Bogor Regency. This type of quantitative research is a functional relationship between variable X with variable Y, the subjects in this study were 1 group teacher that was sampled only grade V teachers who numbered 20 and class V students of SDN Sukamaju 03 totaling 20 students and the data obtained from questionnaires, Data collection techniques by questionnaire, observation, interview and documentation. Based on the results of testing using product moment, the correlation between teacher teaching creativity (X) with student self-efficacy (Y) obtained a value of rcount = 0.790 and rtable for 20 is 0.444 at level significance of 5% thus rcount > rtable (0.790> 0.444) then H0 is rejected, which means there is a significant correlation between creativity teaching self-efficacy of teachers with students. The significance of the regression equation obtained the Fcount of 29.840 and the Ftable of 4.41 with a sig value of 0.000, so that Fcount > Ftable, then there is a significant relationship between teacher teaching creativity (Variable X) and student self-efficacy (Variable Y). And this research is to get R2 = 0.624 62.4% showed their creativity variables affect self-efficacy of teachers to teach students, the remaining 37.6% influenced by other factors not an analysis in this study.

Abstract

The study aimed to identify characteristics of beef cattle farmers along the street corridor of Southern West Java. The study used a survey method in which purposive sampling technique was applied to collect data from 13 sub-districts of five districts along the street corridor of Southern West Java. Result of the study showed that eight categories of cattle farmers with their respective characteristics, namely: 1) the age of farmers, in the productive category (91%); 2) the level of education, mostly at the level of elementary school education (62%); 3) farming experience, most experience for 11-20 years (30%); 4) the nature of livestock business, is a side business (70.8%); 5) number of family dependents, with the highest number of three family dependents (32%); 6) livestock ownership, is their-self owned (67%); 7) cattle origin, with own purchases namely 46%, and 8) business scale, with many livestock owned by 1-3 beef or 50%.

Abstract

In the process of processing seaweed will produce residual waste from carrageenan extraction, and the residue still contain cellulose, lignin, hemicellulose, pectin, and other organic materials that can be processed into bioethanol. This research aimed to utilize the residual carrageenan extracted from seaweed Eucheuma cottonii into bioethanol. The research method includes acid hydrolysis process using 3% sulfuric acid at a temperature of 70-80oC for 30 minutes, followed by a fermentation process using yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae with a ratio of 1: 0.006 for hydrolyzate and yeast, fermentation time treatment 1, 3, 6, 9 and 12 days at temperature 25o-30oC. Fermentate at 78oC, measured in degrees of acidity (pH), volume, and levels of bioethanol. The results showed that the residual carrageenan extract containing carbohydrates as un-extracted carrageenan was 5.01%, hemicellulose was 7.12%, cellulose was 0.96%, and lignin was 8.26%. The level of bioethanol produced from the residual carrageenan extraction was 2.57% and, the yield was 32.64% with a fermentation time of 6 days as the optimal time.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of problem-based learning models or problem-based learning models on the ability of students to solve mathematical story problems with learning material in space and flat in class 5 Panaragan State Elementary School 1, Bogor City. The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. There are several techniques used in this study, namely observation techniques, interview techniques, and tests. Then obtained research results with the average difference in value between the control class and the experimental class, the experimental class has an average value of 73.11, and the control class has an average value of 60.86. After calculating the t-test (One-Sample Test) on the experimental class's post-test value, the Sign value is known. 0.04, because 0.04 <0.05, then Ha is accepted, and H0 is rejected, which shows the influence of PBL models on the ability to solve students' mathematical story problems.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the impact of learning models experiential learning on students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This research was conducted at SDN Banjarwaru 01, Ciawi District, Bogor Regency in 2017/2018. The study used the Posttest Only Control Group Design. The subjects involved in the study were 54 students in class V SDN Banjarwaru 01. Data collection is obtained through interviews, observations and tests. Analysis of the data used is descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The final results of the study used the t-test in the ability to solve students' mathematical problems by obtaining a significance of 0.000 <0.05. From the t-test results listed can be obtained that the application of experiential learning learning models in mathematics has an effect on the development of problem-solving abilities of students of SDN 01 Banjarwaru Bogor district.

Abstract

Distribution pattern and habitat quality of mammals is essential to keep the existing of mammals which depends on interactions between its intrinsic evolutionary and ecological system. Mandalawangi Resort aside from being a conservation area, it is also a tourist area. Tourism activities carried out in the region, will directly and indirectly affect the sustainability of mammal diversity. The benefits of mammals are to stabilize the food chain, the spread of plant seeds, as an object of research and education. The study aims to determine the distribution patterns and habitat of mammals in Mandalawangi Resort . Research on mammal diversity was carried out using 4 methods: rapid assessment, line transect, animal footprint. Habitat data obtained using vegetation analysis and field observation methods. The diversity of mammals in the Mandawalangi Resort consists of 7 types of mammals from 6 families, namely kekes squirrel (Tupaia javanica), langur (Trachypithecus auratus), wild cats (Felis domesticus), wild boar (Sus scrofa), leopard (Panthera pardus melas) , civet mongoose (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) and house gutters (Suncus murinus). Species wealth index is low (0.50). The diversity index of mammals is included in the low diversity category (0.25). The highest level of mammal species meeting is kekes squirrel (Tupaia javanica) with a value of 29.4%. Evenness index is included in the unstable community category (0.15). Mammalian habitat is divided into tropical rain forests and open land with dominating trees namely Damar (Agathis damara) and Rasamala (Altingia excelsa).

Abstract

An experiment was conducted in order to study the influence of supplemented sucrose and injected insulin under different recovery times following transportation on lamb flavor quality. For the purpose the study used fifty four female local lamb (10 to 12 months of age) with weight ranging from 14 to 17 kg. The experimental lamb were assigned into a completely randomized design with 2x3x3 factorial arrangement with 3 replications. The first factor was sucrose supplementation with 2 levels (0 and 6 g/kg body weight). The second factor was insulin injection after transportation with 3 levels (0, 0,3 and 0,6 IU). The third factor was the duration of recovery times with 3 levels (2, 4 and 6 h prior to slaughtering). Parameters measured were glucose, fructose, and ribose. Results showed that feeding sugar and injecting insulin to lamb following transportation increased glucose, fructose, and ribose content of raw meat while recovery time was not affect meat sugar content. Interaction was not occur between treatment of Sugar, insulin, and recovery time.

Abstract

The use of antibiotics as an Antimicrobial Growth Promoter (AGP) for livestock has been banned because antibiotic residues in livestock meat can trigger antibiotic resistance in consumers. Propolis is a natural source that has benefits like antioxidants, antiviral, antifungal, and antibiotic. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the addition of feed from the optimal composition of raw propolis to increasing broiler chickens' body weight of broiler chickens. This study used broiler chickens as experimental animals. The chicken were grouped into six groups consisting of two control groups and four treatment groups with different level concentrations of propolis (2, 4, 6, and 8 g/kg feed). After treatment for four weeks, supplementation of raw propolis in the feed had not been able to provide a positive effect on growth performance and protein levels that were not significantly different from controls. Group chickens with propolis additions 6 g/kg feed showed the best results compared to other treatment groups. The group had final weight values, food conversion ratio (FCR), and carcass weight in 1970.67 gram, 1.52, and 1349.83 gram, respectively. The highest percentage of the carcass was shown by group chicken with propolis additions 2 g/kg feed, which is equal to 74.46%. Raw propolis can reduce feed consumption but increase feed conversion ratio.

Abstract

This research is a Classroom Action Research which aims to determine how efforts to improve learning outcomes through the model of Contextual Teaching Learning students 5B grade in science subjects at SDN Siliwangi. The grand tour initial showed that only 35.71% or 15 students scored above the KKM with a total of 42 students. The average science score in class 5B is 60.95. This Classroom Action Research uses the Kemmis and McTaggart model which consists of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting with success indicators of 80% of students have achieved learning outcomes with a KKM score of 65 and teacher and student activeness reaching 85%. The results showed that from 3 aspects studied, namely: Student learning outcomes obtained 54.76% learning completeness in the first cycle and 76.42% in the second cycle 84.37% student activity in the first cycle and 87.50% in the second cycle. Teacher activeness was 83.34% in the first cycle and 89.58% in the second cycle The increase in the percentage of the results of the primary cycle aspects of student learning outcomes was 19.05%, 22% student and activeness13% teacher activeness. Meanwhile, in the first cycle and the second cycle, the increase in the aspects of learning outcomes was 28%, student activity 3% and teacher activity 6%.
