Abstract

Ovarium merupakan limbah rumah potong hewan (RPH) yang masih mempunyai potensi untukdimanfaatkan sebagai pembawa materi genetik untuk proses fertilisasi in vitro. Penelitian ini bertujuanmembandingkan kualitas oosit yang dihasilkan oleh folikel dari ovarium sapi peranakan ongole (PO)pada fase folikuler dan luteal. Ovarium sapi PO diperoleh dari RPH Depok masing-masing 5 pasang (fasefolikuler) dan 5 pasang fase luteal. Medium transportasi ovarium menggunakan laktat ringer danantibiotik (0,1%) pada suhu 38,5oC. Aspirasi dan klasifikasi kualitas oosit dilakukan di LaboratoriumProduksi Embrio Balai Embrio Ternak Cipelang Bogor. Aspirasi oosit menggunakan jarum suntik 18 Gdalam medium phosphat buffer saline, calf serum 3%, dan antibiotik 1%. Pengamatan kualitas oosit(grade A, B, C, dan D) menggunakan mikroskop stereo. Data ditabulasi dan dianalisis dengan Chi Squareuntuk menguji perbedaan kualitas oosit pada kedua fase: folikuler dan luteal. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan perbedaan nyata (P<0,5) pada grade A dan B, sedangkan grade C dan D tidakmenunjukkan beda nyata (P>0,5) lebih tinggi pada fase luteal. Total rataan grade (A dan B) digunakanuntuk proses fertilisasi menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata (P<0,5) pada fase luteal. Dapatdisimpulkan bahwa produksi dan kualitas oosit grade A dan B dari oosit lebih banyak pada fase luteal.Kata kunci: kualitas oosit, ovarium limbah RPH, fase luteal, fase folikuler, sapi PO

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas penyuntikan kombinasi hormone GnRH, estrogen, progesteron dan prostaglandin terhadap respon estrus, onset estrus dan durasi estrus sapi FH resipien. Penelitian ini menggunakan 15 ekor sapi FH resipien tidak bunting, yang akan mendapat perlakuan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah: P1 = Penyuntikan hormon prostaglandin (Capriglandin) 137,5 mg/ 5 ml  pada hari ke-0 dan hari ke 11 dengan dosis yang sama, P2 = Penyuntikan hormon GnRH (Fertagyl) 100 µg/ 2 ml  pada hari ke-4  dan penyuntikan hormon protaglandin (Prostavet) 2 ml  pada hari ke-11, dan P3 = Penyuntikan hormon progesterone (Potahormon) 250 g/ 40 ml dan estrogen (Ovalumon)  40,000 IU/ 2 ml  pada hari ke-5 dan penyuntikan hormon prostaglandin (Capriglandin) 137,5 mg/ 5 ml pada hari ke-11. Data dianalisis menggunakan Chi-Square untuk semua paramers.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa respon estrus sapi yang diberi perlakuan menunjukkan  gejala estrus (100%), onset estrus pada hari ketiga (72 jam setelah disinkronisasi) dan lama estrus selama 3 hari (72 jam). Semua perlakuan merupakan cara yang efektif  untuk sinkronisasi estrus. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah  sinkronisasi estrus resipient sapi FH dengan  menggunakan hormone  GnRH, estrogen, progesteron dan  prostaglandin memberikan  hasil sama baiknya pada semua parameter. Disarankan untuk aplikasi dilapangan menggunakan hormon progesteron (Potahormon) 250 g/ 40 ml pada hari ke-0, hormon estrogen (Ovalumon)  40,000 IU/ 2 ml  hari ke-5  dan injeksi  hormon prostaglandine (Capriglandin) 137,5 mg/ 5 ml pada kari ke-11.KATA KUNCI: respon estrus,  sapi FH,  GnRh, Estrogen dan rogesteron,  Prostaglandin  ESTRUS RESPONSE OF FH COWS RECIPIENT AFTER SYNCHRONIZED WITH GNRH HORMONE, ESROGEN, PROGESTERON DAN PROSTAGLANDINABSTRACTThis study was aimed to test the effectiveness injection of several combination hormone of GnRh, estrogen, progesterone and prostaglandin e to the response of estrus, onset estrus and duration of  estrus Friesian Holstein dairy cows recipient.  This study was used fifteen dairy cows recipient not pregnant, which were divided into three treatment method of synchronization of estrus. The three treatments were P1: injection 137,5/5 ml prostaglandin hormone (Capriglandin) on  day-0 and repeat on day-11, P2: injection GnRh (Fertagyl) 100 µg/ 2 ml  on day-4 and injection prostaglandin hormone (Prostavet) 2 ml  on day-11, and P3: injection progesterone hormone (Potahormon) 250 g/ 40 ml  and  estrogen hormone (Ovalumon)  40,000 IU/ 2 ml  on day-5  and injection prostaglandin hormone (Capriglandin) 137,5 mg/ 5 ml on day-11. Data was analyzed by Chi-Square Analysis for all of the parameters, IE: estrus response, onset estrus and duration of estrus, The results showed that presentage  of response estrus FH cows  recipient after injection of a hormone estrus combination overall reaches 100%, onset estrus 72 hours (60%)  and duration of estrus 72 hours.  The treatments were effective  way for synchronization of estrus FH cows recipient. It was concluded that synchronization of estrus FH cows recipient using GnRH hormone, estrogen, progesterone and prostaglandin as good in all of the parameters. Recommendation for synchronization of estrus using injection progesterone hormone (Potahormon) 250 g/ 40 ml  and  estrogen hormone (Ovalumon)  40,000 IU/ 2 ml  on day-5  and injection prostaglandin hormone (Capriglandin) 137,5 mg/ 5 ml on day-11.

Abstract

Pemberian pakan selain hijauan memungkinkan terjadinya perubahan fisiologis ternak. Penelitian inibertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pemberian pakan pengganti hijauan berupa fermentasi isi rumensapi terhadap eritrosit, leukosit, hemoglobin, hematokrit, dan diferensiasi leukosit darah domba.Domba yang digunakan dalam penelitian berjumlah 12 ekor domba ekor tipis jantan berumur sekitar4–6 bulan. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap: 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan uji lanjutmenggunakan uji Duncan. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah R0 (pakan rumput lapang 100%), R1(fermentasi isi rumen 50% + rumput lapang 50%), R2 (fermentasi isi rumen 75% + rumput lapang25%), R3 (fermentasi isi rumen 85% + rumput lapang 15%). Fermentasi isi rumen berupa isi rumensapi, dedak padi, molases dan urea. Parameter yang diamati adalah kadar eritrosit, leukosit,hemoglobin, hematokrit, dan diferensiasi leukosit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar eritrosit,leukosit, hematokrit, dan diferensiasi leukosit tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05), akan tetapi kadarhemoglobin menunjukkan berbeda nyata (P<0,05) pada perlakuan R3 (85% IRS + 15% rumputlapangan) yaitu 13,24 g/dl. Kesimpulan penelitian menunjukkan pemberian ransum fermentasi isirumen sapi berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap jumlah eritrosit, leukosit, hematokrit domba,dan diferensiasi leukosit (eosofil, netrofil, basofil, monosit, dan limfosit) darah, kecuali jumlahhemoglobin menunjukkan pengaruh nyata dengan pemberian 85% fermentasi isi rumen sapi. Isi rumensapi (IRS) dapat digunakan sebagai pakan pengganti hijauan pada musim kemarau tanpa memengaruhikondisi fisiologis darahnya.

Abstract

Breast and thigh are the parts of duck carcass which are most commonly utilized and consumed by people.  These carcass parts consist of meat, skin, and bones.  This study was aimed at assessing the effects of the inclusion of torch ginger flower solution in commercial ration on live weight and percentages of carcass and its parts of male local ducks.  The study was conducted from June to August 2016 at Poultry Laboratory of Animal Science Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Djuanda University, Bogor.  Twenty-four male local ducks aged 2 weeks with average initial body weight of 450 ± 53.04 g were used.  A completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replicates was used.  Treatments consisted of commercial ration + 0% torch ginger flower solution (R0), commercial ration + 2.5% torch ginger flower solution (R1), commercial ration + 5.0% torch ginger flower solution (R2), and commercial ration + 7.5% torch ginger flower solution (R3).  Measurements were taken on the percentages of whole breast, breast meat, breast bones, whole thigh, thigh meat, and thigh bones.  Data were subjected to an analysis of variance and a Duncan test.  Results showed that treatments gave significant effect (P<0.05) on the percentage of thigh meat.  The inclusion of torch ginger flower solution in ration did not negatively affect carcass parts of male local ducks.  The inclusion of 7.5% torch ginger flower solution in commercial ration increased the percentage of whole breast.  It was also found that the inclusion of 5.0 and 7.5% torch ginger flower solution in commercial ration increased the percentage of thigh meat.Key words: torch ginger flower solution, male local duck, carcass parts

Abstract

Dates press cake is a waste product a date syrup industry which is potensial to be used as animal feed. This research was aimed to study the effects of corn substitution with date press cake in commercial ration on the percentage of giblet and abdominal fat of broiler. The study was conducted at the Trial Farm of the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Djuanda, Bogor from 17 February to 16 March 2014. One hundred and five one of day old Cobb Slouw chicks were used in this research. The chickens were fed commercialRation BR 0, BR 1 and the combination of corn and dates press cake. The design of research was used a completely randomized design with 7 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were: 100% commercial ration (R0, as control), 97.5% commercial ration added 2,5% corn (R1), 97.5% commercial ration added 2,5% dates press cake (R2), 95% commercial ration added 5% corn (R3), 95% commercial ration added 5% dates press cake (R4), 92,5% commercial ration added 7,5% corn (R5) and 92,5% commercial ration added 7,5% dates press cake (R6). The data were analyzed by ANOVA and Duncan test. The results showed that treatments did not give any signicant effect on all of parameters ie: slaughter weight, percentage of giblet and percentage of abdominal fat. It was concluded that dates press cake could be used up to 7.5% in commercial ration of broiler

Abstract

Kondisi fisiologis merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi produktifitas ternak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pemberian berbagai level ransum fermentasi isi rumen sapi terhadap kondisi fisiologis domba ekor tipis jantan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 9 September sampai 4 Desember 2014. Penelitian ini berlokasi di Desa Tambilung RT 03/RW 04, Kelurahan Mekarjaya, Kecamatan Rumpin, Kabupaten Bogor. Ternak yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah 12 ekor domba ekor tipis jantan, dengan rataan bobot badan 11,15 ± 0,33 kg. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), terdiri atas 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu R0 = 100% rumput lapangan, R1 = 50% rumput lapangan + 50% fermentasi isi rumen sapi, R2 = 25% rumput lapangan + 75% fermentasi isi rumen sapi, R3 = 15% rumput lapangan + 85% fermentasi isi rumen sapi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dan uji lanjut Duncan. Peubah yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah suhu badan, laju respirasi dan detak jantung domba ekor tipis jantan. Hasil analisis laju respirasi, detak jantung dan suhu badan domba ekor tipis jantan selama penelitian menunjukan hasil yang tidak berbeda nyata (P > 0,05).

Abstract

Plants herbs widely used as a supplement in fodder to improve endurance and its productivity, including garlic and caraway. This study attempts to test the influence of the combination level of flour garlic and caraway performance against quail period of a starter up to the period grower. Study was conducted on  11 February  – 16 March 2017 in Assalam Slamet Quail Farm, Sukabumi.  This research was used 180  DOQ’s layer. Feed used were:  commercial feed BR-1 for stater and SP-2 for grower – layer, garlic flour and caraway flour. A complete randomized  design with four  treatments and three  replicates was used. Treatments consisted of  P0 = feed commercial (FC), P1 = PK + 2 % garlic flour (GF), P2 = PK + 2 % caraway flour (CF), P3 = PK + 1 % GF + 1 % CF. Research conducted in quail from 2 – 35 day. The variables were consumption, body weight gain, feed convertion ratio and mortality. Data were analyzed by a Duncan test. The results showed that  non-significant differences  on average body weight gain of stater  in the first week. The grower period showed that that non-significant differences on consumption and significant differences increased on average body weight gain in P2 treatment and decreased on feed convertion ratio in P1, P2 and P3. The conclusion showed the best research on supplement 2 % caraway flour to  grower quails. This conclusion was recommended to add 2 % caraway flour in quails feed.Keywords: performance of quails, feed additive, garlic, cumin.

Abstract

The meat of local ducks generally has lower quality than chicken meat. Typical aroma, dark red color, and hard texture of duck meat affect consumers’ preference for it. This study was aimed at assessing the sensoric quality of meat of male local ducks(Anas plathyrhinchos) given betle (Piper betle Linn) leaf extract solution included in commercial ration. The study was conducted at the Poultry Farm of Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, Djuanda University, Bogor from June to August 2016. Twenty-four male local ducks aged 2 weeks with average body weight of 449.16±75.27 g were used. BR-21E commercial feed of PT Sinta Feedmill and betel leaf extract solution were used. A completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replicates was used. Treatments consisted of 100% commercial feed (R0), commercial feed + 2.5% piper betel solution (R1), commercial feed + 5.0% piper betel solution (R2), and commercial feed + 7.5% piper betel solution (R3). Data were subjected to a Kruskal Wallis test. Measurements were taken on aroma, tenderness, color, taste, and juiceness. Results showed that there were significant differences (P<0.05) in color and taste. The inclusion of 2.5% piper betle extract solution in commercial rations improved the preference of panelists for the color and taste of meat of local ducks. However, treatments did not affect panelists judgement on the hedonic quality (aroma, tenderness, color, taste, and juiceness) of meat of local ducks. Abstract

Upaya peningkatan populasi sapi dapat dilakukan dengan menerapkan bioteknologi transfer embrio. Superovulasi merupakan kunci keberhasilan transfer embrio. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji perbedaan waktu penyuntikan hormon FSH terhadap respon superovulasi sapi angus. Penelitian ini menggunakan sapi donor angus sebanyak 12 ekor sapi yang telah di palpasi rektal untuk mengetahui kondisi ovarium kemudian disinkronisasi dengan preparat progesteron. Rancanngan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu RAL, dengan 3 perlakuan yaitu penyuntikan FSH secara intramuscular pada P1: hari ke-7, P2: hari ke-8, P3: hari ke-9. Penyuntikan FSH dilakukan dengan dosis menurun  pada pagi dan sore hari masing-masing 4ml, 3ml, 2ml, 1ml. Hari ke-3 setelah penyuntikan FSH, pagi hari disuntik dengan PGF2α dan sore harinya dilakukan pencabutan preparat progesteron. Dua hari kemudian dilakukan IB dan tujuh hari setelah IB dilakukan koleksi embrio. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan analisis ragam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan waktu penyuntikan hormon FSH tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P>0,05), namun secara parameter penyuntikan hormon FSH pada hari ke-9 cenderung memberikan hasil respon superovulasi yang lebih baik terhadap jumlah CL, jumlah embrio, dan proporsi embrio layak transfer.

Abstract

This study was aimed at assessing the effects of inclusion of betel leaf extract solution in ration on the percentage of carcass parts of male local ducks. The study was conducted at the Poulty Farm of department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, Djuanda University, Bogor from June to August 2016. Twenty-four male local ducks aged 2 weeks with average body weight of 450 g were used. The ducks were alocated into battery pens (150 cm x 40 cm) and fed BR-21E ration and betel leaf extract solution. Drinking water was given ad libitum. A completly randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replicates was used. Treatments consisted of 100% comercial feed (R1) , comercial feed +2.5% piper betel solution (R2), commercial feed+5.0% piper betel solution (R3), and commercial feed + 7,5% piper betel solution (R4). Treatments were given at the second week following the adaption period. Data were subjected to an analysis of variance and a Duncan test. Result showed that the inclusion of betel leaf extract of 2.5, 5, 7.5% in the ration gave significant effects (P<0.05) on the percentage of carcass, wing, and tigh meat but not (P>0,05) on the percentage of back, breast and its parts, thigh, skin and femur. It was recommended that the inclusion of betel leaf extract in the ration be done by 5% in order to obtain high percentage of and more economical carcass, wing and thigh.Keywords : percentage of carcass part, male local duck, piper betle linn leaf solution
