Sadharananikarana: Jurnal Ilmiah Komunikasi Hindu is an academic journal has been published since 2019 twice annually (May-November) by Program Studi Magister Ilmu Komunikasi Hindu IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram. This journal publishes original researches in multi concepts, theories, perspectives, paradigms and methodologies on communication studies. The Focush and scope of Sadharananikarana: Jurnal Ilmiah Komunikasi Hindu : Mass Media and Journalism (this field examines journalistic activities and media production which includes print, radio, television, and internet); New Media and Communication Technology (a new field of communication study that continues to develop along with technological advances and community needs, this field includes digital media, virtual, interactive, hypertextual and networking); Public Relations (this field of communication examines Public Relations which include internal and external relations within an organization or institution, as well as the creation of public opinion in society); Political Communication (communication involving messages, media, and political actors or those related to power, government, and policy); Marketing Communication (a field that examines ideas, information, opportunities, and challenges through various symbols to achieve company goals); Hindu Communication (communication applied in dharma wacana or Hindu preaching activites using media or occured in society); Sociology of Communication (the process of sociological communication, as a form of social interaction involving individuals or social groups).

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of competition between universities in attracting students' interest has begun to get tougher. This is coupled with private universities in Indonesia which are currently increasingly advanced and developing so that with these conditions, higher education institutions that have just been established and are not yet well known in the community feel the great impact of competition in attracting students. This will motivate every university in Indonesia to make more efforts to improve the quality and quality of the institution through the various advantages they have. The purpose of this study is to explain the brand communication strategy of FKOMINFO Garut University, seen from the four stages used, namely understanding the message, compiling persuasive messages, selecting methods and selecting media. The method used in this study uses a qualitative approach using the theory of Communication Strategy in which there are 4 aspects studied, namely understanding the message, compiling persuasive messages, choosing methods and choosing media. Data analysis techniques from this research are data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing and verification. Data collection techniques used are participant observation, in-depth interviews, literature study and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the communication strategy used by FKOMINFO Garut University in the aspect of understanding the message is to form a team that has been provided with information and tasks that must be carried out. Then in the aspect of compiling persuasive messages, it contains relevant information for prospective new students. Furthermore, in the aspect of method selection, namely by applying interactive and persuasive ways in delivering messages when the activity takes place. Finally, in the aspect of media selection by using various media, both conventional media and utilizing new media.

Abstract

This scoping review explores the impact of emerging new media and communication technologies on society, focusing on the effects of technologies on communication, culture, and social interaction. The study aims to provide an overview of recent research, analyze the potential benefits and drawbacks of new technologies such as social media, mobile devices, and other digital platforms. The study employs a scoping review methodology, which involves a systematic search and analysis of existing literature on the topic. The study examines some aspects of new media and communication technologies, including their impact on interpersonal communication, political discourse, and social movements. The findings suggest that new media and communication technologies have significant implications for society, shaping the way people interact and engage in public discourse. While these technologies have created new opportunities for communication and collaboration, they have also presented new challenges, such as the spread of misinformation and the erosion of privacy. This scoping review contributes to a deeper understanding of the impact of emerging technologies on society, highlighting the need for ongoing research and the development of policies and practices that promote responsible use and mitigate potential harms. The findings are important for scholars, practitioners and policymakers.

Abstract

Lobbying and negotiation are the strategic aspects used to construct reassurance and agreement on a common goal. Therefore, it is aligned with the collaboration context carried out by the UNJ BSI Scholarship Inspiration Awardee in creating a SIBERKASIH program with the residents of Kampung Pure Bali Rawamangun. BSI Scholarship Inspiration UNJ is an association of Jakarta State University students who received scholarship from the BSI Scholarship Inspiration program under Bank Syariah Indonesia and BSI Maslahat. SIBERKASIH (Smart, Inspirasi, Penuh kasih) was created to offer free English Language course using fun-learning method to develop the children's English knowledge and skills. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach using interview to collect the accurate data stated by particular people who performed the lobbying and negotiation technique. This study found that there are several lobbying and negotiation strategies that took place in the cooperation. Those are direct lobbying strategy and the negotiation strategy that prioritizes the benefits of both parties.

Abstract

Political communications include forms of communication that occur in the political environment, including communications in elections, political campaigns, policy making, political decision making, and interactions between government and society. This research aims to analyse how democratic communication ahead of the general election, to study the communication of political elites and parties, the communication of parties participating in the 2024 general election with the community, the involvement of religious leaders in political communication, internal party and inter-party communication. In this research, the author uses a qualitative research method with a content analysis approach. Data processing in this research is done by critical analysis, comparison, and interpretation of various search results from primary and secondary sources. The results of this research are 1) A deep understanding of the target audience that is relevant and attractive to voters 2). Utilisation of social media and digital technology 3). Transparency and trust are key in building a good relationship between political parties, candidates, and voters 4). Accurate and objective voter education about the electoral process 5). Collaboration with voters 6). Responsiveness to emerging issues is important in maintaining relevance and speed in delivering political messages. 7). Evaluation of the communication strategy used.

Abstract

Religious stories that developed in the archipelago, especially the Mahabharata story, became a guide for the people in the life of the nation and state. Education as a means of educating the nation through the mastery of knowledge must be followed by character education so that it can become a whole human being. Religious stories contain various noble values that can strengthen character. This paper aims to understand and analyze the form of character education values contained in Wanaparwa as a form of community adaptability in various conditions faced. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with hermenuetic studies. Using literature studies, the results show that the dominant character values found in Wanaparwa stories are truth or honesty, religion, hard work and perseverance. Six value orientations in the Wanaparwa story fulfill Spranger's theory of theoretical value, economic value, aesthetic value, social value, political value, and religious value fulfill the interpretation of the meaning of the Wanaparwa story. Wanaparwa stories are worthy of being adopted by educators (communicators) as media (messages) containing noble character values to be conveyed to students (communicants) through the storytelling method (channel) to strengthen character (effect).

Abstract

Pasraman, as a Hindu educational institution, has great potential to become a unique and attractive tourism destination, especially those based on religion and culture. However, the development of pasraman as a tourism destination requires the important role of effective communication. This article aims to explore the role of communication in the development of Pasraman as a tourism destination. Through a literature review and case studies, this research discusses the dynamics of communication involved in the process of developing pasraman as a tourism destination and the implications for tourism management and marketing. The research findings show that internal communication between acarya and brahmacari pasraman, as well as external communication between tourists and local communities, have an important role in building an authentic and sustainable tourism experience. In addition, the use of digital communication and social media also provides great opportunities in promoting and expanding the reach of pasraman as a tourism destination. The implications of this research underscore the importance of effective communication management in supporting the development of pasraman as a sustainable tourism destination and contributing to the preservation of Hindu culture. This article is expected to provide insight and practical guidance for managers and stakeholders in utilizing communication as the main tool in strengthening the role of Pasraman as an attractive and competitive tourism destination.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the communication patterns used by parents in suppressing the negative impact of YouTube online media short video content on early childhood. The research method used is literature research which involves collecting data from various reliable sources. The results of the research show that effective communication patterns involve several important aspects. First, parents need to become active monitors of the content their children watch. They should be involved in selecting age-appropriate content and discussing it with the child. Second, parents need to guide and provide explanations about inappropriate or harmful content. They must teach children to understand the difference between comfortable and uncomfortable content. Third, parents need to build open communication and put forward a persuasive approach when dealing with inappropriate content issues. Effective communication patterns between parents and early childhood can be a powerful tool to reduce the negative impact of short video content on YouTube's online media. It is important for parents to be active monitors, provide appropriate supervision and direction, and maintain open channels of communication with their children. In doing so, they can help children develop the skills necessary to consume online media content wisely and healthily.
