Abstract

Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) is an aquatic weed that grows in the surface of water. It’s rapidly growth can disturb the aquatic ecosystem. The water hyacinth has a potential to become the food supplement of animal because of its high protein content, but the crude fiber content which is difficult to be digested by the animal. So that, it’s needed some treatment of water hyacinth to become an animal feeding which have a low crude fiber content using technology fermentation. The purpose of this research is to know the result of water hyacinth fermentation on the various concentration of bio-activator. The method that was used is by fermenting the water hyacinth in the various concentration of yeast include 0 g/Kg (V0), 14 g/Kg (V1), 17,5 g/Kg (V23), 21 g/Kg (V3) dan 24,5 g/kg (V4) for 5 days. The feeding of the fermentation result from the various treatment then was analyzed its protein level and crude fiber content, and also the physical structure. The Physicly of water hyacinth fermentation result was has a crumb structure, has a dark brown colour and has a smell like tempe. From the proximate analysed, was known that V1 treatment (14g/kg) contained of the best nutrition that had the highest  rough protein content (11,09%) and the low crude fiber content (21,16%). Keywords: fermentation technology, animal feeding, ruminants and water hyacinth.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan perangkat perkuliahan mata kuliah Mikrobiologi Terapan berbasis masalah terintegrasi softskill. Produk akhir dari penelitian pengembangan ini berupa: (1) Silabus; (2) Rencana Pelaksanaan Perkuliahan (RPP); (3) Kontrak Perkuliahan (KK); dan (4) Perangkat penilaian softskill pada matakuliah Mikrobiologi Terapan. Subjek penelitian adalah dua orang ahli materi mikrobiologi, dua orang ahli pembelajaran, dua orang ahli media pembelajaran, dua orang ahli penilaian, dan dua kelas atau 34 orang untuk uji coba pelaksanaan RPP pada mahasiswa Prodi Magister Pendidikan Biologi semester III, yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposif sampling. Perangkat yang dihasilkan melalui tahap-tahap pengembangan mengacu pada pengembangan Thiagarajan, yaitu model 4-D yang terdiri dari tahap pendefinisian (define), tahap rancangan (design), tahap pengembangan (develop) dan tahap penyebaran (disseminate). Data dikumpulkan dengan tes dan angket, lalu dianalisis dengan teknik prosentase. Hasil penelitian ini bahwa: validasi Silabus rata-rata 88,85% (kategori layak), validasi RPP rata-rata 84,65% (kategori layak); validasi KK rata-rata 91,25%  (kategori sangat layak); dan validasi perangkat penilaian berbasis softskill rata-rata 85,45% (kategori layak) untuk diterapkan pada mahasiswa Prodi Magister Pendidikan Biologi pada matakuliah Mikrobiologi Terapan.  Kata Kunci: Silabus, Perangkat Penilaian, Softskill,  Mikrobiologi Terapan, Berbasis Masalah.

Abstract

Abstract-Mount Merapi since 1006 until now still erupting actively. Every three years erupting hot clouds and lava heat (Drajat et al., 1994; Sukandarrumidi & Sudibyakto , 1994). Location of Mount Merapi in Yogyakarta with a climate transition from wet to dry (West Java - East Java). Mountain with physical environment, chemical, and biotic, different than other volcanoes in Indonesia (Backer & Bakhuizen van den Brink, 1968; Whitten et al., 1996). Inventarization the species of plants is very important to do, especially as the floristic composition of the vegetation resources Araceae. The purpose of this study to identify the types of plants of Araceae on certain limits in Nature Reserve Plawangan-Turgo, South slope of Mount Merapi. The study was conducted by the survey method in the southern slopes of Mount Merapi at an altitude of 900-1.275 m.dpl. Collection of plants of Araceae made a herbarium. Sample identified in Plant Taxonomy laboratories, Biology UGM. Identification is based on morphological characteristics using identification books, revision, flora, and atlases to species level. There are 10 types Araceae, which are grouped in 7 Genus, namely : Aglaonema simplex BI., Alocasia heterophylla Merr., Arisaema filiforme BI., Colocasia antiquorum Schott , Colocasia gigantea (BI) Hook.f., Rhaphidophora montana (BI) Schott, Schismatoglottis rupestris Zoll., Scindapsus hederaceus (Z&M)Miq., Scindapsus perakensis Hook.f., Scindapsus sp. Commonly, Araceae have habitus vines with or without the rhizome. This is because habitat conditions are shaded canopy of large trees that routine 3-5 years exposed as a result of the burning hot clouds of Mount Merapi. Keywords : Araceae , nature reserve Plawangan – Turgo.

Abstract

The role ofmeninfamily planningis veryimportantbecausethe husbandis usuallymoredominantinpolicy makerskeluarga.Daunguava containsactive substancessuch asalkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, essential oils, avikullarin, acidandbeta-sitosterololeanolikthat areantifertilitas.Alkaloids can affect the secretion of reproductive hormones necessary for the process of spermatogenesis, essential oils work on the process of spermatogenesis but not in sperm transport, tannins can agglomerate resulting in lower sperm motility and viability of sperm (Wien.W. & Dian S. 1997).The purpose of this study was to identify a range of doses dekok red guava leaves on rat sperm quality.The kind of this research is true research.Parameter experiments used were morphology (abnormality) and mortality of spermatozoa. The population in this study is a white male rats. The samples used were 12 heads, divided into 4 treatments each consisting of 3 replicates, using completely randomized design (CRD) , a data analysis technique with one factor ANOVA and LSD continued 1 %.The results showed no significant effect of several doses dekok red guava leaves against a white rat sperm quality. Effective doses decrease sperm quality is 7 g/hr. Abstract

Teaching style of teachers by traditional style is explaining teory, giving example and drill cause acheivement  can not be optimal.  There for of bad style teaching is not exact in improving capability problems solving, because pupils is not creative and tendency show by teacher example.  There for is need  effective learning aproach in improving problems solving of pupils specially in natural science learning.  The aims of paper is explaining Research Based Learning (RBL) by scientific approach can be effective in improve process sklill science in elementary school.Scientific approarch in learning consist of observation, question, doing, processing, presentation, conclusion, and create can be applied in all learning subject. Keywords: scientific approach, process skill, natural science

Abstract

Abstract - This research is conducted because of the limited information of mangrove forest in Parit Belida and the damage caused by the lack of society awarness. Based on the preliminary research, those are due to the irrelevant prior knowledge  and information transfer. Mangrove forest in Parit Belida provides facts on the ground and biological object materials which are relevant with the topic of ecosystem. It has various plants and animals with special morphology, various types of adaptation, and the physical characteristics of the mangrove forest itself.  However those can not be directly applied to the learning process. It needs to be processed into functional materials which allows the students to understand the concept of the fact presented in the teaching materials. The R&D method was used to obtain teaching material  initiated with preliminary study, composing draft, development, validation and program implementation. As Curriculum 2013 said that teaching learning process should develop character education and scientific approach for students, the concept and the attitude of the students towards the awarness of mangrove forests can be improved by involving them actively and innovatively. Abstract

Based on observations and interviews of the implementation of science lesson in the SMP 2 Ponorogo, it was obtained that the learning strategy is teacher-centered, with dominant learning methods are lecture, discussion, and question-and-answer. The teacher was not giving the opportunity to students to develop thinking in finding the concept,  less interaction among students and between students and teacher, low student activity and more than 60% of students have not reached the specified school’s KKM. The implementation of plasma cluster cooperative learning strategy (PCCLS) is expected to increase students' activities and cognitive science learning outcomes. Classroom Action Research (CAR) was carried out in 3 cycles, with 3 stages: planning; implementation and observation; and reflection. At each meeting in the implementation phase, the  PCCLS was implemented with lesson study pattern. The implementation was conducted in class VIII-C (special gym-class) SMPN2 Ponorogo with 32 students, 21 males and 11 females  in 2013/2014. The results showed that the application of PCCLS can enhance the students’ activities and cognitive science learning outcomes. It was concluded that the implementation of PCCLS can enhance the eight grade students’activities and cognitive learning outcomes. By learning the plasma cluster it will be student-centered and cooperative learning, students are active and creative, which in turn can more easily understand the material. It is recommended that teachers implement variations of classroom instructional strategies, one of which is plasma cluster cooperative learning strategies (PCCLS). Keywords : Cooperative Strategy, Plasma Cluster, Activity,  Learning Outcomes, Cognitive

Abstract

The purpose of this study is not only to determine the structure of a community that consist of abundance, diversity, evenness, and richness of butterflies but also to observe the abiotic factors at CobanRais. The research conducted classified into exploratory descriptive. Butterfly sampling conducted in CobanRais (along 2.5 km) in June-September 2013, with walking transect technique. Animals sampling was conducted from 08.00 to 12.00 a.m. The butterflies that had collected were identified based on morphological characters. The results showed that the butterflies were found are 64 species and belonging to the 6 family that is Papilonidae, Nymphalidae, Pieridae, Hesperidae, Lycanidae, and Rindinidae. The species most commonly found in CobanRais is Cyrestislutea with abundance values are 23%. Diversity of butterfly community in CobanRais is high with a value of 3.373. Evenness of butterfly communities in locations observation is high because close to 1 with a value of E = 0.811 and Butterfly species richness in CobanRais is high with a value R = 11.36. Keywords: butterfly, community structure, Coban Rais

Abstract

The study of mophology, morphometry and alometry of Uca perplexa, one of fiddler crabs that dominated at mangrove vegetation in Pulau Baii of Bengkulu have been conducted. We measured morphometric characters including body weight and sizes of carapace, abdomen, chelae, frontal, eyebrow and eye stalk. The result showed Uca perplexa live at sandy mud substrate and made burrow around mangrove roots. Uca perplexa have back carapace with some horizontal white strips. Carapace was acute and straight at anteriolateral part and rounded at dorsolateral. Their foot color usually brown although some of them were grey, were also found. The male (2.4±0.96 g) has higher of body weight than female (0.77±0.23 g) caused by dimorphism of chelae in male. Carapace width of male and female were 14.74±4.42 mm and 10.42±3.24 mm, respectively. As for abdomen width of male was 5.16±1.61 mm and of female was 6.58±1.38 mm. The length of major chelae was 44.66±9.22 mm as minor chelae was 10.50±0.49 mm. The frontal length of male was 3.44± 0.44 mm as for female was 2.83±0.69 mm. The eyebrows were narrow with eye stalks length for male and female were 6.50±2.46 and 4.20±0.92, respectively. Alometric analysis showed that Uca perplexa either male or female has growth pattern with negative alometry (b<3). It suggest the increase of body weight in Uca perplexa is slower than the increase of size of its carapace, abdomen and chelae. Keywords : Uca perplexa, fiddler carb, morphometry, alometry, bengkulu

Abstract

Noise is one of the most common items used by aircraft around the world , there are About 50,000  commercial  flights  each  day  around  the word and 3 million people traveling . In the operational of aviation in Ahmad Yani International Airport Semarang  , an airplane can make some noise. The noise is a sound that  unwanted  in a place and time scale, it can make some disturbance that influence human freshness and health. Particularly for Residents whom living  very close by the airport such as Graha Padma and Tambakharjo. It is commonly believed that people adapt rather easily to noise. This  research reviews the available data , finding little evidence that any adaptation occurs in community close by airport .however, is open to alternative interpretations. The present study, examining reactions   noise effect  from the airport daily operations on residents near by the airport and how they can adapting with the aircraft noise in them daily lifestyle .first of all , we  measured  the noise inside Graha Padma and Tambakharjo in 23 points using apparatus  sound level meter, Taking into consideration different locations ,times and days . we classification this area  into three , most affected area , affected area and low affected area according to the levels of noise .we took  30  random simples of people taking into consideration different times ,days , age, gender and distance. This study wants to suggest that the airport should  take a new  bigger role to minimize the noise and people whom living around the airport should follow some steps to adapting or avoid the aircraft noise. Keywords : Noise , community ,adaptation and Ahmad Yani Airport Semarang
