Abstract

The research aimed to understand the nesting area characteristic of C. mydas in the Kasiak Island was conducted from March-April 2017, coincidence with the nesting time of green turtle. Observation of the nesting area of green turtle was conducted in the Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern parts of the island. Parameters studied were the slope of the beach, the distance between the water edge during the high tide and the nest, sand texture, types of vegetations around the nest, number of nests present and the quality of water around the island.  Results shown that the coast’s slope ranged from 1.74 to 2.890, the distance between the water edge during the high tide and the nest ranged from 1.17 to 1.70 m, the substrate texture was dominated by sand (> 90%), silt (3.4-7.25%) and clay (2-8%).  The nest temperature was 25-320C, nest humidity was 30-40% and the common vegetation was Thespesia populnea.  Quality of the water  around the Kasiak Island are as follows: temperature was 29-300C, salinity was from 33-34 ‰, current speedwas 0.4-0.5 m / s and pH was 8.

Abstract

The research was conducted from May to July 2014 in Mantang district, Bintan regency. The object of this research were to evaluate the feasibility level based on financial and sensitivity aspects, contribution to local revenues and to formulate alternative strategies. This research used survey method. The result shows that the business of groupers floating cages in Mantang district was feasible and profitable. Contribution of business groupers was lesses to local revenues Bintan District. The combination score of external, internal matrix indicates that the position of the business in growth strategies. SWOT analysis find out of four alternatives strategies to increase production and development business.

Abstract

The study was conducted from 1 th of March to 16 th April 2017 at the Center for Research and Cultivation of Ornamental Fish (BRBIH), Depok West Java Province. Which aims to determine the best natural food for growth and survival of Black Ghost fish (Apteronotus albifront). The method used was experimental method with Randomized Complete Design, with 3 treatment levels and 4 replications, ie P1 (Tubifex sp), P2 (Moina sp), P3 (Culex sp). The maintenance container used was an aquarium of 40 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm (24 liters of water), with a stagnant system. Fish used as 50fish/aquaria, fish fed 3 times a day. Growth sampling was done at the beginning and every 10 days. Measurement of water quality parameters include physics and chemistry ie Temperature, pH, DO, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate. The results showed that feeding ofTubifex sp gave the best result of absolute long growth of 4.4 cm, absolute weight growth 1.38 g, spesific growth rate of 5.3% , survival rate 74%.

Abstract

Flooded swamp area around the Tapung Mati River is a habitat for many species ofendemic fishes in Riau. A studied to understand the types of freshwater fishes living inthat area has been conducted on June to July 2011. Fish samples were caught used ascoop net (0.5 m diameter) and the fish then identified based on Saanin (1984) danKottelat et al. (1993). In this research, the fish caught were consisted of 20 species thatwere belonged to 3 ordos, 10 families and 17 genus. Most of fish caught were Cyprinid(47,06 %) and the most common species are Esomus metallicus. Around 40 % of fishpresent in the flooded area of the Tapung Mati River are categorized as Sumatra’sprimary family and almost all species are the economically valued fish. African catfishand nile tilapia fishes are aquaculture fishes that escaped from ponds around the river.Keywords:Tapung Mati River, flooded area, freshwater fishes, Esomus metallicus,primary family

Abstract

Sea cucumber (Holothuria scabra J.) is one of fishery commodities whichcontain high nutritional and economic value. This study aims were 1) thephysical characteristics of sea cucumber, 2) nutrient content (proximate) seacucumbers fresh meat, and 3) the yield and nutrient content (proximate) seacucumber powdery fresh meat. The study was conducted in four stages of theexperiment: 1) Preparation of meat of sea cucumber, 2) analysis of nutrientcontent (proximate) sea cucumber fresh meat, 3) The making of powder of seacucumber meat , and 4) analysis of yield and nutrient content (proximate) seacucumber meat powder. Results showed the proportion between the parts of thebody meat: offal and gonads: the skin: water and dirt were 4:3:2:1 (w / w). Freshsea cucumber meat has a high nutrient content that is 87.03% water, 9.94%protein, 0.54% fat, 1.86% ash, and 0.64%. carbohydrate. The average yieldproduced approximately 10.16%. While the nutrient content (proximate) powderysea cucumber meat that is 9.13% water, 61.31% protein, 3.68% fat, 12.52% ash,and 13.36% carbohydrate.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of lactic acid bacteria grown at different pH from floc (clots) which are given carbon sources of tapioca and can increase the number of bacteria in the medium of red tilapia cultivation. The method used is the survey method and experiment by growing bacteria on different pH treatments, namely pH 2, 4 and 6, growing colonies were identified based on morphological and biochemical characteristics. The results of identification found 13 isolates of lactic acid bacteria (BAL) which only grew at pH 4 and 6 of these isolates consisted of the genus Bacillus and Streptococcus. The total bacteria in the cultivation medium ranged from 2x108 to 7x108 CFU / mL.

Abstract

The research were conducted in River estuary of Rokan, Riau Province on Mei 2014. Sedimentation analysis were investigated by various method i.e, sedimen grain-size analysis, Total suspended solid analysis, mechanism of particle disseminated, river’s sediment transport analysis, longshore sediment transport analysis, coastline chance analysis and absolute sedimentation velocity. The research was aim to explained sedimentation procces covered mechanism of sediment transport and sedimentation rate, and then could be able to gave the solution for preventive study of River estuary of Rokan Sedimetation. The result of grain-size analysis showed that mean size were dominated by find sand, sorted by poorly sorted. The disseminated of sediment in deep water was tended to very fine skewed dan skin-deep was very coarse skewed. Mechanism of disseminated particle result when tide, find sand sediment was transport as 128,52 m to the south-east in 23,33 minute. On the contrary to the northwest as 88,10 m in 16 minute. Very find sand was transport as 82,59 m to the south-east in 15 minute at tide and on the contrary to the northwest as 67,12 m in 11,27 minute. Total Sediment Transport Formulae showed 137.023 m3/year of sediment transport was occurred, while longshore sediment transport was 33.616.808,53 m3/year at the River estuary of Rokan. The coastline chance showed addition of land at the estuary was 240.096.862,77 m2 , accretion was 280.492.425,46 m2, and abration was 27,935,195.86 m2. From sediment total calculation in a year comparing by 60 years accretion showed, the absoluted sedimentation velocity was 0,19 cm/year. It was low, so that concluded the contriction of estuary by accretion.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of adding bamboo shoots (Dendrocalamus asper) flour to the quality of goatfish (Upeneus moluccenis) nugget. The treatment is with total tapioca flour used 75 g with the addition of bamboo shoot flour which consists of 4 levels ie NO (0% bamboo shoots flour), N1 (5% bamboo shoots flour), N2 (10% bamboo shoots flour), N3 (15% bamboo shoots flour). Based on the research, the effect of the addition of bamboo shoots flour to goatfish nugget quality was significantly affect to the organoleptic value, moisture, ash, protein, fat, and crude fiber content. The result of the study on N3 treatment was the best treatment with characteristics: light brown appearance (7.27), very specific of goatfish odor (7.32), savory taste (7.32), solid and compact texture (7.56 ) and the chemical values of moisture, ash, protein, fat, and carbohydrate content are 40.79%, 2.05%, 10.50%, 1.02%, 25.23%, 20. 43%, respectively.

Abstract

This research in two sub-districts and District Bantan North Rupat Bengkalis District, Riau Province. The purpose of this study was to analyze: The potential of fishery resources, the condition of waters, eklpoitasi level of fishery resources in the arrest of three zones Bengkalis. The study states that the sustainable potential of Zone I to 1287.09 tons / year. Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the effect of iron (Fe3+) concentration on chlorophyll a and b content, carotenoid content and antioxidant capacity of Chlorella sp. The source of Fe3+ obtained from FeSO4.7H2O.  The varying concentration of Fe3+ in Basal media was 0.35, 4.89, 9.44, and 13.99 mg/L. The harvesting of Chlorella sp. was conducted in 3 times: 7th day, 14th day, and 21st day of cultivation periode. The Chlorella sp. was harvested by centrifugation 4800 rpm for 10 minutes. Chlorophyll a b, and carotenoid content were determined by using spectrophotometer with absorbance (Abs) 480, 630, 645, 665 nm and antioxidant capacity was analysed using % DPPH scavenging capacity. Based on the research results shown that the highest amount of Chlorophyll a content (101.43 mg/L) and chlorophyll b content (49.25 mg/L) were resulted in the highest of Fe3+ concentration (13.99 mg/L) for 21 days of cultivation period, the highest carotenoid content (37.41 mg/L) was in 4.89 mg/L of Fe3+ concentration for 21 days of cultivation period, and the highest of % antioxidant capacity (32.74%) was in the lowest of Fe3+ concentration (0.35 mg/L) for 14 days of cultivation period.
