Abstract

Microplastics are plastic pieces smaller than 5 mm. This study aims to describe the mikroplastic content in the digestive tract of Mackerel fish (Rastrellinger kanagurta) arising from the Palu Bay, and its use as a learning media. Samples in this research are some 10 % of the catch fishermen. Technique data collection was carried out using a technique analysis of the stomach contents. Result of the research are that abundance highest on station I with 2,2 particles, station II 0,83 particles, and in stations III 1,5 particles.  Validated of video by team validator obtained to 76.86 %, video can be described as learning so that it can be used as a Learning media.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe students' critical thinking skills on the material of Electrolyte and Non-Electrolyte Solutions in class X SMA Negeri 6 Sigi. This type of research was descriptive quantitative. In the learning process, the teacher used Google Drive and the Whatsapp application as online learning media. The data collected was the form of critical thinking ability test results that obtained through giving questions in the form of online essays. Furthermore, the data were collected and analyzed based on indicators of critical thinking skills which including interpretation, analysis, inference, and evaluation. The results of data analysis on critical thinking skills of students of class X MIA 1 on the indicators of interpretation, analysis, inference, and evaluation were 51%, 41%, 42%, and 47%, respectively. The average result for all indicators of critical thinking ability of students in class X MIA 1 was 45%. For class X MIA 2, 51%, 39%, 36% and 41% respectively. Overall, the results of the critical thinking skills of class X student was 43.5%. This result shows that the critical thinking ability of students in the class X SMA Negeri 6 Sigi was in a low category

Abstract

Kersen, also known as Muntingia calabura L. is a fruit with numerous health benefits that can be ingested instead of medication. The goal of this study was to see how effective the extract Muntingia calabura L. was as an antioxidant. This study used DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) as a source of free radicals and vitamin C as a positive control to measure antioxidant activity. A UV-VIS spectrophotometer was used to determine the antioxidant activity of Muntingia calabura L. extract. The fruit powder of Muntingia calabura L. was extracted using the maceration process using ethanol as a solvent. The antioxidant activity of the extract was next examined at various concnetration of 20, 40, 60, and 80 ppm. Muntingia calabura L. extract had a strong antioxidant power with an IC50 value of 69.662 ppm, while vitamin C had also a strong antioxidant power with an IC50 value of 79.615 ppm, according to the findings. Muntingia calabura L. fruit extract is a good source of natural antioxidants, according to the IC50 value, because it has a high antioxidant activity value.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of learning sail on class Xa students as an experimental class using the guided inquiry method assisted by simple practical tools and class Xg using conventional methods on electrolyte solution material. This type of research is experimental research using pretest-posttest control. The population is students of class Xa and Xg SMA Negeri 1 Sausu. The technique used in sampling is purposive sampling, which is a non-random sampling technique in which the researcher determines the sample by determining special characteristics that are in accordance with the research objectives. The sample in this study was 28 in the experimental class and 27 in the control class. Testing the research data using statistical analysis of one-party t-test with prerequisite test with normality test and homogeneity test. The results of the analysis of the data obtained on the normality and homogeneity tests are prerequisite tests for the t-test statistics. Based on the normality test of the learning outcomes test data for the experimental class, the value of 2count < 2 (5.91623 < 5.99) and the normality of the data for the control class obtained 2count < 2table (5.7952 < 7.81). These results show that both the experimental class and the control class have data that are normally distributed. This means that the data obtained has an even distribution between low, medium, and high student learning outcomes, which meet the normal curve. be accepted. So it can be concluded that there is no difference in variance between the control class and the experimental class, so the data is homogeneous. So this research concludes that guided inquiry learning has an effect on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Research on the Sulfur Content Analysis in the Hot Springs at the Foot of the mountain in Sedoa Village, North Lore District, Poso Regency has been conducted. The purpose of this study was to determine the sulfur content in the hot springs at the foot of the mountain in Sedoa Village, North Lore District, Poso Regency. The method used is the Gravimetric method. Hot water samples were taken in the morning and allowed to stand for 3 hours, 1 day, 2 days, and 3 days with 3 different sampling points. Point A is hot water consumed by the community, points B and C are hot water used by the community for bathing and washing. The results showed that the sulfur content of sample A for 3 hours was 9 mg/L, sample B was 4.5 mh/L, sample C was 4.5 mg/L. For 1 day, sample A was 4.5 mg/L, sample B was 4.5 mg/L, sample C was 4.5 mg/L. For 2 days, sample A was 4.5 mg/L, sample B was 4.5 mg/L, sample C was 4.5 mg/L. For 3 days, sample A was 4.5 mg/L, sample B was 4.5 mg/L, sample C was 4.5 mg/L. Sulfur content in the hot springs in Sedoa Village ranges from 4.5 mg/L – 9 mg/L. This level is far below the standard sulfur content, which is <400 mg/L.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the profile of number sense of grade VII students at SMPN Model Terpadu Madani Palu in solving number problems. This type of research is qualitative research. The subject of this study were three students in grade VII CI-2 at Model Terpadu Madani Palu in the even semester of the 2020/2021. Three students selected as research subject consisted of a student with high math abilities, a student with medium math abilities and a student low math abilities. Data were collected by means of test and interview methods. The result of this study indicate that: (1) Profile of number sense of student with high mathematics ability is: (a) Representing fractions with pictures, (b) Use pictorial representations, (c) Using estimates and fraction properties to make a comparisons, (d) Using the assosiative property, (e) Understand the relationship between the problem’s context and the operation required. (2) Profile of number sense of student with moderate mathematics ability is: (a) Understand the concept of addition and substraction of fraction, (b) Using fraction properties to make a comparisons. (3) Profile of number sense of student with low mathematics ability is: (a) Able to convert fractions to decimal numbers and vice versa, (b) Understand the concept of addition and substraction of decimal numbers.

Abstract

The study aims to describe the Problem Solving Class VII  In Solving Word Problem Based On Social Arithmetic On  Online Learning The Ability Of Mathematics. The research subjects are 3 students, namely students with high, medium and low math abilities. The research uses a qualitative method with a qualitative descriptive approach based on the problem solving steps proposed by Polya. The result showed that the ZR of mathematical abilities, AS of student with moderate mathematical abilities, and MR of student with low mathematics abilities, in solving social arithmetic math problems were as follows: (1) understanding the problem, student ZR, student AS, and student MR understand the given problem by doing repeated reading. ZR student and AS student can identify known information and information asked, but ZR didn’t write down completely while AS couldn’t identify the thing that was asked completely. MR student cannot identify the information that is knows and asked completely, it appears that MR does not understand the problem given, (2) Devising a plan, ZR student make problem solving plan with the formula for buying and selling prices, AS make a problem solving plan using the profit and loss formula. While MR uses the percentage of sales formula, (3) Carrying out the plan, ZR student use their abilities by using the concept of profit or loss, but do not master the arithmetic division operation so they do not complete the final result. AS student carry out problem solving plans well, but to find the purcgase price of AS is not right, and at the stage of calculating te final result, AS does not get the final result because it does not master the division arithmetic operation. While MR at this stage uses an incorrect formula, and cannot complete the final result because MR does not master the devision arithmetic operation, (4) Looking back, ZR, SS and MR students did a rexamination by looking back at the work.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' ability to interpret thermodynamic process graphs. The instrument used is a thermodynamic graph test question as many as 13 items in the form of reasoned multiple choice. The methodology used is qualitative. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 5 Model Palu in the odd semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. The subjects of this study were students of class XII IPA 4. Interview respondents were selected based on the results of the analysis of students' answers. The results of the analysis show that the students' abilities are in the very low category with an average percentage of 33.68%. The ability to interpret symbols is 42.01%, connecting observations is 31.77%, finding patterns is 30.21%, and determining the amount is 30.73%. Students' difficulties in interpreting graphs, namely, considering the graph as an object, confusion in interpreting the position of the direction of the arrow in the graph, not knowing the meaning of the symbols of magnitude in the graph, having difficulty interpreting the area under the graph, unable to distinguish graphs, and unable to see the question as a whole.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a physics experiment comic media based on local wisdom. This research uses 4D model development, which starts with defining the material, designing the media to becoming a product. After becoming a product, it is then validated by material experts and media experts. The comics that have been validated by several experts are then revised by the researchers with reference to the suggestions given by the validators. To make this comic, the researcher used Photoshop and Coreldraw X7 applications. This experimental comic is designed so that students can do simple experiments outside of school independently on temperature and heat material, besides that this comic displays the icon of the city of Palu and the story that develops on the icon. The research subjects of the feasibility test of this physics experiment comic were the seventh grade students of SMP Labschool Palu. The average score obtained is 3.71 with a very good category. The results of the study indicate that this experimental comic can be used as a learning medium.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the understanding of students at SMA Negeri 1 Lore Utara on the concept of changing the state of matter. Subjects and respondents in this study were 29 students of SMA Negeri 1 Lore Utara. The research instrument used was a concept understanding test in the form of multiple choice reasoned accompanied by a level of confidence in answering questions (tree tier test). The test instrument used was 25 number of questions. The test result data is then analyzed to determine the percentage of understanding scientific concepts, misconceptions, and not understanding concepts. Based on the results of the research data analysis, the percentage of the category not understanding the concept of 44.28%, understanding scientific concepts 16.97%, and misconceptions of 38.76%. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the understanding of the concept of changing the state of matter in the students of SMA Negeri 1 Lore Utara is still very low.
