Abstract

Daun salam (Eugina polyntha) merupakan tanaman yang mengandung flavonoid yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antioksidan sehingga dapat dibuat sediaan facial wash. Facial wash merupakan salah satu pembersih wajah yang digunakan untuk membersihkan sel kulit mati, kotoran, minyak dan kosmetik. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk membuat sediaan facial wash dengan variasi karbopol 940 yang memenuhi uji fisik sediaan dan mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH. Metode penelitian yaitu penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental dengan merancang formulasi sediaan facial wash daun salam dengan variasi karbopol 940 dan evaluasi sediaan fisiknya meliputi uji organoleptis, uji pH, uji viskositas, uji stabilitas, uji iritaai dan uji hedonik. Uji aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode DPPH (1,1-Difenil-2-Pikrilhidrazil). Hasil evaluasi sifat fisik facial wash meliputi organoleptik formula 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 memiliki bentuk sediaan gel, bau khas daun salam, dan warna hijau kehitaman. Sediaan homogen dan memiliki nilai pH pada rentang 4,5-6,5, tinggi busa pada formulasi ke 3 memenuhi standar, uji viskositas memenuhi standar pada formulasi ke 2 dan 3, , uji iritasi tidak adanya iritasi pada formulasi ke 3 dan untuk formulasi 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 memiliki sedikit iritasi, uji hedonik dilakukan dengan kriteria bentuk, warna dan bau yang banyak disukai pada formulasi ke 2. Pengujian Pengujian ststistik dengan hasil uji pH, uji tinggi busa dan uji viskositas dilakukan dengan uji One Way ANOVA dengan hasil untuk nilai p < 0,05. Hasil nilai  pada vitamin C sebesar 8,88 ppm sedangkan untuk sediaan facial wash daun salam sebesar 10,53 ppm. Pada penggunaan basis gel karbopol 940 mepengaruhi sifat fisik sediaan dengan p <0,05, dan nilai  sebesar 8,88 ppm untuk vitamin C sebagai kontrol positif dan sediaan facial wash  ekstrak metanol daun salm dengan nilai  sebesar 10,53 ppm.

Abstract

In criminal cases, blood spots are one of the markers of a crime. Spots left on an object, no matter how small, can be used as evidence, whether it comes from humans or not. Criminals often try to eliminate traces of their actions by hiding or disposing of bloodstained items in the hope of complicating the investigation process. This study refers to the use of the Takayama Test in determining the origin of blood spots. This test is one of the method to test whether the spots found are blood or not, and confirm th origin of the blood. Based on the number of cases in which the perpetrators disposed of evidence, this study aims to determine the extent to which the Takayama Test is used to identify blood spots on cloth with the influence of soil decomposition media. The study used a True Experimental design with randomization and a control group. Data analysis using descriptive analysis. The results obtained from observations for 30 days, the Takayama test showed positive results and could identify the presence of blood spots on the soil decomposition media. A positive result is indicated by the presence of hemochromogen crystals that form on blood spots that have been exposed to the soil. The formation of brownish black crystals was found in the spots exposed to the soil medium.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disorder and characterized by hyperglycemia and disorders of the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, proteins. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of Diabetes mellitus patients, the pattern of treatment carried out, and appropriate anti diabetic in terms of cost and effectiveness aspects at Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Regional Hospital Samarinda. The study was conducted retrospectively on medical record records. The results of 115 patients showed that most Diabetes mellitus sufferers were suffered by man with an age range of 56-65 years. The most common use of anti diabetic in Diabetes mellitus patients is bolus insulin and combination of bolus and basal insulin. Anti diabetic with minimal cost or the most minimal cost are the cost of using bolus insulin at a cost of Rp 8.865.248,-. The antidiabetics combination of basal and bolus is more effective reducing blood sugar levels while 174,86 mg/dL with an average cost effectiveness ratio (ACER) value of Rp 57.199,22,-.

Abstract

Salah satu permasalahan kesehatan yang penting untuk diperhatikan alat penyakit infeksi. Penyakit infeksi khususnya di negara berkembang harus segera diatasi dengan pemberian obat kepada penderita, seperti obat yang mengandung antibiotik, antivirus, antijamur, dan anti protozoaKandungan yang paling banyak digunakan masyarakat adalah antibiotik. Antibiotik berhasil dimanfaatkan sebagai obat adalah karena ketepatan dalam peresepan antibiotik. Antibiotik yang tidak sesuai aturan resep akan membuat terjadinya ketidakrasionalan di dalam tubuh penderita. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Puskesmas rawat inap Nipah Panjang Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur pada tahun 2019. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif retrospektif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, sebanyak 360 pasien sudah menggunakan antibiotik yang terdiri atas kandungan amoxicillin 68,61%, cefadroxil 9,17%, ciprofloxacin 16,11%, chloramfenikol 4,17%, eritromicyn 1,39%, dan metrominazole 0,56%. Pasien yang mendapatkan antibiotik kombinasi sebanyak 2 resep. Semua peresepan memenuhi ketepatan dosis dan frekuensi dan lama pemberian kecuali pada penggunaan antibiotik eritromicyn dan kloramfenikol. Sebanyak 328 resep tidak memenuhi ketepatan durasi penggunaan antibiotik

Abstract

Crassocephalum crepidioides (sintrong) plant has secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, saponins, steroids, and tannins which are thought to have antioxidant and sunscreen activities. Antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract of the leaves and flowers of Sintrong was measured using Uv-Vis spectrophotometry obtained IC50 values of 23.558 ppm (flowers) and 0.62 ppm (leaves), and categories as very strong antioxidants. Based on %Te and %Tp values, ethanol extract of sintrong leaves was categories as sunblock, while ethanol extract of flowers of sintrong was categories as Fast Tanning (for %Te) and for %Tp was categories as suntan standard (for 200-300 ppm) and Extra Protection (for 400-600 ppm). The SPF of the ethanol extract of the leaves and flowers of sintrong is categories as minimal protection.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the antidiabetic effectiveness of the combination of Senggani leaf extract (Malestoma polyanthum Bl.) And Glibenclamide against alloxan-induced mice. This study used 15 male mice divided into 5 groups and each group consisted of 3 male mice, group I was given Na.CMC 1% w / v, groups III, IV, V were each given a combination of senggani leaf extract 90 mg / kg, 180 mg / kg, 360 mg / kg and 5 mg of glibeclamide as the treatment group, and for group II were given glibenclamide suspension 5 mg for comparison. Alloxan 150 mg / KgBW was used as an inducer of diabetes. Measurement of blood glucose levels was carried out three times, namely initial glucose measurement, post-induction glucose measurement and post-treatment glucose measurement. The results showed that giving senggani leaf extract with a concentration of 90 mg / kg BW, 180 mg / kg BW, 360 mg / kg BW had an antidiabetic effect in male mice. Senggani leaf extract 360 mg / kg BW showed the most effective antidiabetic effect, but still more smaller than the 5 mg glibenclamide suspension.

Abstract

Karies gigi disebabkan oleh bakteri Streptococcus mutans, penanganan menggunakan obat kumur dinilai efektif karena dapat membersihkan mulut sampai ke sela-sela gigi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh obat kumur ekstrak daun sirih hijau (Piper betle L.) sebagai antiseptik terhadap isolat mulut. Uji aktivitas antiseptik  menggunakan metode koefisien fenol dengan konsentrasi ekstrak  10%, 20%, dan klorheksidin 0,2% sebagai kontrol positif. Isolat mulut dibudidayakan selama 24 jam pada media agar darah menggunakan metode streak plate. Penentuan nilai koefisien fenol dilakukan dengan melihat kekeruhan pada media nutrient broth. Hasil penelitian obat kumur ekstrak etanol daun sirih hijau meenunjukkan aktivitas antiseptik terhadap bakteri isolat mulut. Terdapat perbedaan rerata nilai koefisien fenol Obat kumur ekstrak daun sirih hijau konsentrasi 10% (0,887 ± 0,273), 20% (1,760 ± 0,730), dan klorheksidin 0,2% (1,360 ± 0,446). Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan efektivitas antiseptik obat berdasarkan uji koefisien fenol. Berdasarkan penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa formula obat kumur memiliki efektivitas membunuh isolat mulut.

Abstract

Voluntary blood donors are people who voluntarily donate their blood to other people and not to certain patients. Before blood is given to the recipient, a blood filter test or screening test is carried out. A screening test is a process of screening or separating blood that can be transfused and not infected with an infectious disease. Research has been conducted with the title Infectious Disease Screening Results and Hemoglobin (Hb) Levels in Voluntary Donors at the Indonesian Red Cross Blood Transfusion Unit, Jayapura City. This research was conducted for 1 month, from 13 May to 15 June 2019. The population used in this study were all voluntary donors who came to donate blood. The number of samples in this study was 45 samples. Methods for examining infectious diseases, in this case testing for HIV, HBsAg, and hemoglobin levels used were the ELISA method and Bj: 1.053 copper sulfate. 2 people (4.4%) were positive and 43 people (95.6%) negative, HBsAg test found 7 people (15.6%) positive and 38 people (84.4%) negative and Hemoglobin obtained results as many as 45 people (100%) normal.

Abstract

Determination of phenolic content using uv-visible and measured IC50 as antioxidant of saputangan leaves. Methods: Screening was used FeCl3, NH3, Alkali and Pb(CH3COO)2. The maceration process was carried out using ethanol as a solvent and soaked for more than 24 hours. The measurement of total flavonoid levels began with determining the maximum wavelength of quercetin, which was 442 nm. The linear regression equation for the resulting quercetin calibration curve was the equation y = 0.0155x + 0.0387 with a correlation value (R2) of 0.9943. The linear regression of antioxidant of saputangan leaves on percentage of inhibition is y = 0.6899x + 1.5616 with a correlation (R2) of 0.9895. The Maniltoa grandiflora (A. Gray) Scheff leaves contained flavonoid compounds which are proven based on the results of screening. Meanwhile, the weight of the extract after partitioning using ethyl acetate and n-hexane was 50 gr. Total flavonoid levels in Maniltoa grandiflora (A. Gray) Scheff leaves were 33.87 mg QE/g extract or 33.87%. IC50 value of 70.2108 ppm which was categorized as an antioxidant at the medium (medium) level. Conclusions: Total flavonoid content was 3.87 mg QE/g extract or 33.87% and categorized as antioxidant on medium level.

Abstract

Kombucha is a fermented tea by bacteria and fungi called SCOBY for 7-14 days. The presence of microorganism in kombucha after fermentation process leads to additional fermentation. The longer preservation time, the more acid kombucha. The more acid kombucha affects the level of vitamin C. So, it is important to heat kombucha to reduce the number of microbes (pasteurization). The aim of this study is to know the effect of pasteurization on vitamin C level in various kinds of kombucha. After 7 days of kombucha fermentation, the kombucha heated for 15 minutes in 80oC then, the vitamin C level of kombucha measured with Spectro photometer UV-Vis in ? 265 wavelenght. The result shows that pasteurization (80oC) in 15 minutes does effects the vitamin c level of various kinds of kombucha. It decreased the level of vitamin C of kombucha before heating.
