Abstract

Background : Child control or maternal who are allowing preschool children to self-regulate their own food intakewould affect dietary intake and weight status.Children (>3 years old) tend to eat more when served larger portions and do not regulate intake as well, especially if at higher risk of obesity.Objective : To investigation child control as a risk factors on the risk of obesity and identified the association child control with dietary intake and weight in preschool children in Yogyakarta City. Method : A case control study of preschool children (aged 3 – 5) and their mother was recruited from June to October 2015. Anthropometric measurements included weight and height . Subject divided into normal weight (n=101) and overweight/obesity (n=101) group based on World Health Organization 2005 weight-for-height and were matched by gender and age, Comprehension Feeding Practices Questionnaire (CFPQ) to asses maternal feeding practices, semi quantitative food-frequency questionnaire over the past 3 months to asses children’s dietary intake.Statistical analysis was performed with Mc Nemar test and Spearman. Results : Child control variable wasnot significantly related to risk of obesity (OR = 1,18; 95%CI 0,64 – 2,19) and there is no association between child control with dietary intake and weight (p > 0,05) in preschool children. Conclusions : Child control variable wasnot significantly related to risk of obesity and there is no association between child control with dietary intake and weight in preshool children. Abstract

Background: Yogyakarta became one of the cities with quite high prevalence of childhood obesity at 8,98%. In other hand, shifting socio-economic conditions can alter maternal role model of healthy eating practices. These changes related to food intake and incidence of getting obesity in preschool children. Objective: To analyzed maternal eating practices as risk factor of obesity and identified the dominant risk factor related to obesity in preschool children aged 3-5 years. Method: This study was a case control study. Case of this study was obese preschool children (Z-score WHZ > 2 SD) and control of this study was non-obese preschool children (Z-score WHZ -2 ≤ SD ≤ 2). There were 101 obese children and 101 non-obese children based on the nutritional status screening result of 53 early childhood education (ECD) schools in Kota Yogyakarta. Control group was taken by an age and gender matching with the case group. Using Home environment Survey (HES) questionnaire to asses maternal eating practices. The data were analyzed using McNemar test and conditional logistic regression. Results: Maternal eating practices was significantly related to risk of obesity (OR=2,45; p=0,01; 95% CI=1,25-4,84). Maternal eating practices (OR=2,42; p=0,017) and maternal obesity (OR=2,62; p=0,003) were the most dominant risk factors related to the incidence of obesity in preschool children aged 3-5 years. Conclusion: Maternal eating practices and maternal obesity were significantly increase the risk for getting obese in preschool children aged 3-5 years. Abstract

Background: Bogor taro is one of potential carbohydrate source which is high calcium and phosphor but low fat. Kidney beans is one kind of nuts that can be processed into various products. Kidney bean have low glycemic index with 4 grams of fiber each 100 grams of it has. Objective: To identify the effect of variations of Bogor taro flour (Colocasia esculenta L. Schott) and kidney beans (Phaseolus vulganis L.) mixing variation on physical characteristic, hedonic scalling, protein and fiber level of taro cookies. Methods: This research was a true experimental study which used simple randomized design with 3 units and 4 variations of cookies (100%:0%, 90%:10%, 80%:20%, 70%:30%) of taro flour and kidney bean without any repetition. Assesment of physical characteristic used Hedonic Scale Test Form. The results of physical characteristic were analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis analysis and continued by Mann-Whitney analysis. Protein and fiber level were analyzed using ANOVA analysis and continued by Post Hoc Test (Tukey). Results: There was no effect of Bogor taro flour and kidney beans mixing variation to colour, taste, and flavor, but there was an effect to the texture. There was an effect Bogor taro flour and kidney beans mixing variation on protein and fiber level. Formula 70%: 30% was the best taro cookies variations. Conclusion: There was an effect of Bogor taro flour with kidney beans mixing variation to physical characteristic, hedonic scalling (texture) (p=0,011), protein and fiber level (p=0,000). Abstract

Background: The prevalence of obesity and cardiovascular disease remains a national problem. Banyumas, Central Java, is one of the districts where the prevalence of obesity and the risk of cardiovascular disease are high. WHtR is an anthropometric index that can be a parameter for early detection of cardiovascular disease risks. HRR is a physiological indicator of the heart’s function that can be associated with cardiovascular disease in adolescence. Objective: To determine the association between WHtR and HRR in adolescent boys. Methods: This is an analytic observational study with cross sectional approach. Total research subjects were 128 adolescent boys were divided into two groups: normal WHtR (n = 64) and abnormal WHtR (n = 64). WHtR data was obtained from ratio of waist circumference and height. HRR data was measured after the Kasch Step Test. Association between WHtR and HRR was analyzed using the Chi -square test (α = 0.05, 95% CI). Results: Value of WHtR in adolescent boys had a range of 0.34 - 0.70 with a mean of 0.49 ± 0.08. Value of HRR in adolescent boys had a range of 1-58 bpm with a mean of 20.63 ± 13.42 bpm. Chi-square test’s result was p=0.000, show there was a statistically significant association (p <0.05) between WHtR and HRR with the prevalence ratio (PR) = 3. Conclusion: There is an association between WHtR and HRR in adolescent boys. Adolescent boys with abnormal WHtR have 3 times higher risk obtaining a low HRR value than adolescent boys with normal WHtR. Keywords: waist to height ratio, heart rate recovery, adolescent boys

Abstract

Introduction: Protein Energy Malnutrition (PEM) is still a major general nutrition problems experienced at children aged under five years (toddlers). The results of Riskesdas 2013, prevalence of malnutrition and malnutrition in toddlers 19.6 % it means of malnutrition and severe malnutrition in Indonesia is still a public health problems. Fish as source of protein can be used as an alternative food sources PEM problem solving. Sukun is expected to improve the quality of the abon (nutritional value and texture). The objective of this research was to analyze effect of addition of sukun toward physical quality, protein content, and water content of catfish abon. Methods: This research was used quasi experimental design. The design was using posttest only control designed to 2 replication a standard treatment with three and one control. Physical quality using hedonic scale tests. Chemical analysis of protein levels with semi microkjeldahl test and water content using cawan method. The results of the analysis using Friedman test. If the results was significant then proceeded to Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Results: Addition of sukun with different proportions in any treatment can affect physical quality (sense, color, flavor, texture) modification abon. There is a trend of decrease in protein levels with increasing proportion of sukun added to abon (33.79% - 39.64%). There is a tendency of an increase in water content with increasing proportion of sukun added to modification abon (4.83% to 5.9%). Conclusions: Right proportion of addition of sukun in abon modifications is P1 (abon from catfish with additional sukun 20 %). Keywords: sukun, physical quality, protein content, water content, abon.

Abstract

Tour guides working to serve foreign tourists are particularly vulnerable to obesity and non-communicable diseases. They are exposed every day to the lifestyle and diet of the western tourists who are served that tend to be high energy, fat and cholesterol. Lifestyle tour guides should follow the lifestyle of tourists who more activity and banquets, especially at night until the early hours which must also be followed by the tour guide.The study aims to determine the relationship of consumption pattern and obesity status on the tour guide. The study was conducted in Badung Bali Province with the goal of the research is the work Travel guide Travel agency foreign tourists. The samples were carried out by multistage random sampling, with a sample size of 109 people. Data collected from a sample identity, waist circumference, body mass index. Food consumption patterns include the number, type and frequency of consumption of foodstuffs with Semi quantitative method frequeny Food Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ). It showed the number of subjects as many as 109 people with 73.4% male and 26.6% female. About 21,1 % subject have over all obesity and 37,6% have central obesity. Food consumption patterns seen on the amount that exceeds the adequacy of that energy and fat 48.6%, protein 57.8%. The type of foods frequently consumed are chicken, eggs, shrimp, squid is a food consumed regularly >2 times a week. The analysis showed a significant correlation between the pattern of food consumption with obesity status (p <0.05) and exceeds consumption adequacy, have a higher risk of the obesity status than lower concumption (RP > 1,00 ; CI >1). The study showed a significant correlation between consumption pattern with obesity status tour guide in the district of Bali province Badung. Abstract

Latar Belakang: Anak sekolah saat ini menghadapi masalah gizi ganda, yaitu gizi kurang dan gizi lebih yang disebabkan oleh rendahnya pengetahuan tentang pedoman gizi seimbang. Tujuan : Mengetahui efektifitas penggunaan media papan petak dibandingkan media poster terhadap pengetahuan gizi seimbang siswa SD. Metode : Jenis penelitian ini adalah experimen semu dengan desain pre-post test with control. Lokasi penelitian di SDN Jaranan dan SDN 1 Salakan, yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2018. Subjek adalah semua siswa kelas IV SDN Jaranan dan SDN 1 Salakan yang berjumlah 52 siswa. Variabel bebas adalah penggunaan papan petak dan poster pada penyuluhan gizi seimbang, sedangkan variabel terikat yaitu pengetahuan siswa. Pada awal penelitian pengetahuan siswa diukur dengan kuesioner. Hari kedua penelitian, diberikan perlakuan berupa penyuluhan tentang gizi seimbang yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok papan petak dan kelompok poster dan pengetahuan siswa diukur dengan kuesioner. Analisis data menggunakan uji paired sample test dan independent samples T-test. Hasil : Penggunaan papan petak meningkatkan skor pengetahuan rata-rata sebesar 25,4, sedangkan pada poster sebesar 18,5 dengan t-hitung 2,2. Ada perbedaan yang signifikan skor pengetahuan antara kelompok papan petak dan poster (p=0.034). Kesimpulan : Media papan petak lebih efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan gizi seimbang pada siswa SD dari pada poster.

Abstract

Latar Belakang : Masa lima tahun pertama kehidupan merupakan masa yang sangat peka terhadap lingkungan dan berlangsung sangat pendek serta tidak dapat terulang. Tujuan : Mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi status perkembangan balita usia 1-3 tahun di Sleman Yogyakarta. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 90 balita usia 1-3 tahun di wilayah Puskesmas Gamping II Sleman dengan teknik consecutive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Kuesioner Pra Skrining Perkembangan (KPSP). Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji chi square dan regresi logistik. Hasil : Faktor yang berhubungan secara signifikan dengan status perkembangan balita adalah status gizi balita p=0,024, pendapatan orang tua p=0,024, dan pendidikan orang tua p=0,006. Serta faktor yang paling mempengaruhi status perkembangan balita adalah pendidikan orang tua (koef-β 1,396, p-value 0,015, PR 4,039, CI 95% 1,312-12,433). Kesimpulan : Pendidikan orang tua adalah faktor yang paling mempengaruhi status perkembangan balita usia 1-3 tahun.

Abstract

Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melaporkan kaitan IMT dengan profil sindroma metabolik sebagai prediktor penyakit tidak menular pada masyarakat usia produktif Posbindu Kabupaten Banyumas. Metode : Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional dengan desain penelitian potong lintang. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2017 dengan mengambil data variabel bebas yaitu Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) dan variabel tergantung yaitu profil sindroma metabolik yaitu HDL, lingkar perut, tekanan darah, gula darah, dan trigliserida. Sejumlah 107 subjek berusia 15-64 tahun dari 2 Posbindu PTM di Banyumas dikaji data demografis, Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) dan hubungannya dengan profil sindroma metabolik dengan analisis korelasi Pearson. Hasil : IMT berhubungan dengan beberapa profil sindroma metabolik yaitu berhubungan negatif dengan HDL (P=0,006) dan berhubungan positif dengan trigliserida (P=0,016), tekanan darah diastolik (P=0,002), dan lingkar perut (P=0,000); namun tidak ditemukan hubungan signifikan antara IMT dengan gula darah puasa (P=0,968) dan tekanan darah sistolik (P=0,064). IMT memiliki hubungan dengan beberapa profil sindroma metabolik (HDL, trigliserida, tekanan darah diastolik dan lingkar perut). Kesimpulan : Posbindu dapat menggunakan IMT sebagai parameter untuk meningkatkan kewaspadaan pesertanya terhadap risiko penyakit tidak menular seperti Penyakit Jantung Koroner dan Stroke.

Abstract

Latar Belakang : Masalah kesehatan lansia dapat dicegah dengan cara mengutamakan faktor gizi dan aktivitas fisik. Pelayanan serta perawatan bagi lansia, baik yang tinggal bersama keluarga atau di pelayanan sosial dapat memberikan dampak yang berbeda terhadap kesehatan maupun kognitif lansia. Tujuan : untuk menganalisis tingkat konsumsi dan aktivitas fisik lansia yang tinggal bersama keluarga dan UPT Pelayanan Sosial Tresna Werdha. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik observasional dengan menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan proportional random sampling dan diperoleh 37 responden pada masing-masing lokasi penelitian. Penelitian ini menggunakan uji chi square. Hasil : menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna antara umur dengan status tinggal lansia. Status pernikahan lansia menunjukkan hasil terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna dengan status tinggal lansia. Variabel jenis kelamin menunjukkan hasil tidak terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna dengan status tinggal lansia. Kesimpulan : Terdapat perbedaan tingkat konsumsi energi, lemak dan karbohidrat lansia yang tinggal bersama keluarga dan pelayanan sosial. Tidak terdapat perbedaan tingkat konsumsi protein pada lansia yang tinggal bersama keluarga dan pelayanan sosial. Penelitian terhadap tingkat aktivitas fisik lansia menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan bermakna antara lansia yang tinggal bersama keluarga dan pelayanan sosial
