Abstract

The phenomenon of online game addiction is rife in the current digitalization era, especially among teenagers in Padang Seurahet Village. Variants of online games that are often accessed by teenagers are free-to-fire games or war games. Addiction was observed from the outpouring of time playing online games and the non-conformist behavior of adolescents. In analyzing this social event using a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The results show that the aspects that encourage teenagers to become addicted to online games are because teenagers can expand their social networks with fellow gamers (gamers), there is an event menu in the game, often get appreciation or prestige in the form of champion certificates and money, get verbal recognition from gamers throughout Indonesia. , and can compete with teams of other players. The issue of online game addiction requires social control from actors such as parents, society, and the government. Parental social control includes advising, limiting smartphones and playing time, sending teenagers to day, and socializing teenagers who are addicted to online games. Padang Seurahet community control is categorized as still minimal in dealing with teenagers addicted to online games, and weak social control (low control) from the Indonesian Government, Regional Government, and Padang Seurahet Gampong Government. The conclusion of this study is a form of parental control in the form of persuasive control, and internal control is not able to minimize online game addiction due to weak control from external actor.

Abstract

This article will discuss how religion and identity become important factors in elections, especially in presidential elections. It means that this article will discuss how presidential candidates use religious symbols to gain support from religious voters, as well as the impact of the use of religious symbols in political campaigns. The discourse battle between the two candidate pairs shows the contestation between identity and popularity in Indonesian politics. Political identities based on religious symbolism, nationalism and populism can strengthen a candidate's political identity and attract support from certain groups. However, political popularity based on symbolism can trigger polarization and religious intolerance and ignore the interests of the wider community. Symbolism analysis shows how the two pairs of candidates use symbolism to strengthen their political identity. The Prabowo-Hatta pair used religious symbols such as pictures of the Kaaba and verses from the Koran in their campaign as a way to show they were religious leaders and true nationalists. Meanwhile, the Jokowi-Kalla pair uses symbols of nationalism such as the Red and White Flag and the Garuda Emblem as symbols of national pride and inclusive Indonesian identity. The 2014 presidential election in Indonesia shows the contestation between identity and popularity in Indonesian politics. Political identities based on religious symbolism, nationalism and populism can strengthen a candidate's political identity and attract support from certain groups. However, political popularity based on symbolism can trigger polarization and religious intolerance and ignore the interests of the wider community.

Abstract

Personality is a topic that has been widely discussed in the scientific world through the widespread works of great philosophers. Many works of literature have studied the Islamic character to find scientific premises regarding personality formation. This study aimed to explain the importance of connecting the concept of Islamic personality with aspects of emotion, motivation, and attitude. In particular, the attitude aspect in the Islamic context is divided into inter-social and pro-social attitudes. Through an in-depth analysis that combines the perspectives of Islamic scholars, sociological, and psychological theories, this study resulted in an understanding of the relationship between religion and spirituality with emotions, motivation, inter-social, and pro-social attitudes. In the context of Islamic personality formation, Islam emphasizes that a person's personality is not only influenced by biological factors alone, but also by subjective values related to character formation. The implications of this paper provide detailed solutions and answer questions about the complex relationship between emotions, motivations, and attitudes with the formation of an Islamic personality. In the context of inter-social attitudes, Islam encourages individuals to develop attitudes that involve healthy and constructive social interactions with others. Additionally, in a pro-social attitude, Islam encourages individuals to prioritize attention and concern for the welfare of society as a whole.
