Abstract

The aim of this research is to reveal the deconstruction of male characters in the novel Atheis by Achdiat Karta Mihardja. The method that will be used by researchers in this research is descriptive method. The data collection technique that the writer uses in this research is the content analysis technique. The analysis technique in this research is (1) Identifying the oppositional hierarchy in the text, which usually shows which terms are systematically privileged and which are not. (2) The oppositions are reversed by showing the interdependence between the opposites or their privacy is reversed, and (3) introducing a new term or idea which apparently cannot be included in the old oppositional category. The results showed that ultimately the Atheists believed in God and regretted what they believed so far.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the use of effective sentences in the Indonesian language of the Friday sermon at the Jabal Rahma Mosque, Langkapura District. The method used in this research is descriptive method. Data collection using recording techniques and interviews, the data collected is then analyzed. The content of the sermon is analyzed based on parallels, firmness, frugality, accuracy, cohesiveness, and logic of the sentences in the Friday sermon. The steps taken in analyzing Friday sermons are by transcribing the content of the sermon into written language and identifying sentences in Friday sermons. The results showed that it was quite good in terms of the effectiveness of effective sentences. This can be seen in the cohesiveness, accuracy, and efficiency of the sentence.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of skills and learning outcomes of Indonesian language, especially writing explanatory text for class XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 3 Metro using the inquiry method. The research design used was classroom action research. Methods and data collection tools using test and non-test techniques (observation, documentation, and interviews). The results showed an increase in explanatory text writing skills in the pre-cycle an average of 79.25%, in the first cycle it became 96.83, in the second cycle the explanatory text writing skill was 108.91, and the third cycle was 200.16. The increase in pre-cycle 17.25%, cycle II to 12.08% and to cycle III to 91.25%. Furthermore, the average pre-cycle Indonesian learning outcomes were 5, cycle I got an average of 7, cycle II became 8, and cycle III became 9. The increase in pre-cycle to cycle I was 2%, cycle I to cycle II was 1%, cycle II to cycle III to 1%.

Abstract

The problem in this study is to describe the significant relationship between the mastery of diction and punctuation with the ability to write persuasion of grade VIII students in the even semester of State Junior High School 10 Bandarlampung in the 2018/2019 academic year. The method used in this research is correlational. The results of this study are: 1) There is a positive and significant relationship between the mastery of diction and the ability to write persuasion. correlation coefficient = 0.483, while the contribution given by the variable of diction mastery to the ability to write persuasion is 23.329%, then the remaining 76.671% is determined by other variables; 2) There is a positive and significant relationship between the mastery of punctuation and the ability to write persuasion with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.829, while the contribution given by the variable punctuation to the ability to write persuasion is 68.724% and the remaining 31.276% is determined by other variables; 3) There is a positive and significant relationship between the mastery of diction and punctuation with the ability to write persuasion, with a correlation coefficient of R = 0.848, while the contribution given is 71.91% and the remaining 28.09% is determined by other variables / factors.

Abstract

The research objective was to describe the application of cooperative learning methods in class XI Science 1 State Senior High School 3 Metro students in improving their short story writing skills. The research method used was observation, documentation, and interviews. Data collection techniques and tools with tests and non-tests. Data analysis included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed an increase in pre-cycle short story writing skills from 198 to cycle I to 262, an increase of 64%. Meanwhile, the average Indonesian learning achievement in pre-cycle got 53 in the first cycle to 69, an increase of 16%. In Cycle II, the score of short story writing skills increased by 32%. As for Cycle III, it increased by 14% with an average learning achievement of 88 or an increase of 9% from the previous cycle. Thus, the cooperative learning method can improve the ability to write short stories in class XI Science 1 State Senior High School 3 Metro odd semester 2017-2018 academic year.

Abstract

The research objective was to describe the writing skills of anecdotal texts using the inquiry method for students of Science class X.1 State Senior High School 3 Metro. The research design used was classroom action research, including observation, documentation, and interviews. Techniques and collections in the form of test and non-test data. The results showed an increase in pre-cycle anecdotal text writing skills to the first cycle, the total percentage was 47.38%, and the average learning achievement of students in pre-cycle 46, in the first cycle to 66, increased by 20%. The increase in the percentage of anecdotal text writing skills in cycle II was 97.68%. When compared with the first cycle of 47.38% to the second cycle of 97.68%, there was an increase of 50.30%. In the third cycle, the improvement of anecdotal text writing skills was 65.69. In the third cycle the average anecdotal text writing skill score was 85, an increase of 10%. Thus, the Inquiry method can improve the skills in writing anecdotal texts.

Abstract

This determination aims to find out what difficulties exist in high school students, the lack of knowledge of writing is one of the great homeworks for educators especially in the Indonesian language, writing is a way to train students to create creative ways of thinking and expand vocabulary, research in writing assignments This poetry is expected to know the meaning of language style, imagery and the use of both in poetry writing, language style is semeotic in building signs in poetry, imagery is an image that builds the character of a writing so that it reaches the reader when writing poetry.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the ideological formations and negotiation in the novel Entrok by Okky Madasari. Data analysis used descriptive analysis method, namely describing the facts followed by analyzing them with a sociological approach to Gramsci's theory of hegemony. The ideologies that are analyzed to find the dominant ideology through the existing ideological formations. The data analysis technique uses content analysis techniques in the form of literary texts. The results of this study indicate that there are five dominant ideologies in this novel, namely 1.) conservatism, 2.) theism, 3.) pantheism, 4.) militarism, and 5.) bapakism. The five ideologies have correlation, subordination, and contradiction. Hegemony can be achieved through negotiations that occur in dialogue between characters. The novel Entrok has the ideology of conservatism as the most dominating ideology.

Abstract

The beginning of 2020 is the year COVID-19 began to hit Indonesia. This is very influential for the world of education, where the Indonesian government makes the decision to do learning from home. This decision was made to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in school children and students, so that schools and colleges can learn from home, one of which is by using a mobile learning application. Mobile Learning is learning by using an android phone. This kind of learning is very effective in the current pandemic conditions. Because in addition to protecting students and students from COVID-19, both students and students still get subject matter or learning materials by staying at home. The system that built is a special learning system for Indonesian language courses, by presenting course material through applications that can be accessed by students without the constraints of a place to study.

Abstract

This study aims to critically analyze the Corona Virus-themed meme text which is analyzed based on a multimodal theory review, which includes (1) lexical analysis, (2) visual analysis, and (3) inter-mode relations. The analytical method used is the multimodal theory of Kress-Leuween. In a multimodal analysis of @edwin_basuki's twitter upload in the corona virus discourse, persuasive sentences were found that aim to entice readers. to stay healthy and follow the government's instructions to stay at home. Based on the findings and discussion of the research, it was found in @edwin_basuki's twitter upload using lexical, and visual, in forming meaning for certain purposes and interests. These relations consist of lexical relations, namely participants. Then the visual relation consists of participant, iconography, gaze, composition, setting, distance, salience, modality, and framing.
