Abstract

This study aims to examine the values ​​of character education in a collection of convention short stories by A. Mustofa. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative method. This method is used to examine the values ​​of character education in the collection of short stories Convention by A. Mustofa Bisri. Qualitative methods pay attention to scientific data, data in relation to the context of their existence. Qualitative methods lead to data in the form of quote sentences that put forward words or sentences rather than numbers. Based on the results of the research that has been described regarding Character Education Values ​​in A. Mustofa's Convention Short Story Collection, it can be concluded that the character education values ​​in the Convention short story collection are classified as having 18 dominant character education values, namely; religious values, reading pleasure values ​​and attitudes and behavior values.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is (1) to describe the ability of class XI students to write a novel review "He is my brother" by Tere Liye, (2) to determine the factors that influence the difficulties of class XI students in writing novel reviews. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research. The method used is descriptive method with data collection techniques in the form of written tests and questionnaires. From the results of the study, students who scored 80-10 were 2 people (8.69%) in the "Very Good" category, students who scored 66-79 were 10 people (43.47%) with "Good Category", students 11 people (47.82%) scored 56-65 in the "Enough" category. Furthermore, based on the analysis of the questionnaire data, it is known that the factors that influence the difficulty of students writing novel reviews are (1) there are still many students who are not interested in taking novel review writing lessons, (2) students are quite difficult to describe in the title, book data, introduction, body. proper reviews and closings, (3) students still need a lot of examples of review material to make it easier to write novel reviews, (4) students do not often write novel reviews apart from the assignments given by the teacher at school.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of critical reading skills teaching materials containing moral messages sourced from the short story Helvy Tiada Rosa for class XI students of SMA 1 Pringsewu. This study uses the development implementation of the Borg and Gall versions. The steps used in this research are data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product trial, product revision, usage trial, product revision, and mass results. The research instrument used was non-test and test. Research uses material experts to validate teaching materials. Data analysis technique with descriptive analysis. The results of developing critical reading skills teaching materials containing moral messages sourced from the short story Helvy Tiada Rosa for class XI students in the "Good" category. The results of the validation of the development of literary appreciation teaching materials as a whole can be categorized as "Good". Based on the effectiveness of development using teaching materials is in the very good category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine and describe the ideological formations contained in Pramoedya Ananta Toer's Girl Beach by using Gramsci's theory of hegemony. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. Qualitative descriptive method is used to describe the ideology of the novel Gadis Pantai by Pramoedya Ananta Toer using Gramsci's hegemonic theory of analysis. Based on the results of the analysis conducted on Girl Beach by Pramoedya Ananta Toer, several ideologies were found, namely capitalism, authoritarianism, modernism, humanism, feudalism, and feminism.

Abstract

: This study aims to describe the ability of second semester students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program to write regional language poems. The research method uses descriptive methods. The population is 35 people with a sample of 28 people. The data collection technique was in the form of a test, namely writing rhymes using local languages. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that: Semester II students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, FKIP Baturaja University, are generally in the category of being able to write rhymes in regional languages. This is because the percentage of test scores obtained by students shows as many as 10 students (35.7%) are included in the very capable category and as many as 10 students (35.7%) are in the capable category. Furthermore, as many as 3 students (10.7%) were included in the fairly capable category, while those included in the poor category were 5 students (17.9%), and none failed (0%), with an average score obtained of 72.57. These results indicate that students' abilities are included in the category of being able to write rhymes using regional languages.

Abstract

Drama learning material in Indonesian language lessons is one part of the literary aspect. The ultimate goal of learning is that students are required to be able to compose drama texts in their own style. This certainly requires a high understanding for students to be able to analyze the structure, characteristics and elements that are specifically contained in a drama. The purpose of this study is to describe how the ability to write drama texts in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 32 Bandar Lampung. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive approach. The results of this study can be described as follows. The ability of Class VIII students of SMP Negeri 32 Bandar Lampung in writing drama texts is categorized as sufficient.

Abstract

The problems of this study are related to spelling errors of letter in Senior High School 1 Labuhan Maringgai, East Lampung in 2021. There are three aspects that studied and analyzed in this study, namely: 1)Use of letters 2) Word selection and 3) Use of punctuation marks. The purpose of this Research is to identify and describe errors in the use of spelling rulers of letter. This research used descriptive metdod qualitative. This method is used because it is suitable for the purpose of research, which is to describe the form of spelling accordance with reduction, data presentation, and verification. Data analysis used identification, classification and evaluation. The results of research on the using of the spelling errors in letters at Senior High School 1 Labuhan Maringgai, East Lampung 2021 indicated that errors are still found in spelling.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the transformations of plot and characterization from the novel Laskar Pelangi to the film Laskar Pelangi by using the ecranization method. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research focuses on the transformations of plot and characterizations from the novel Laskar Pelangi (verbal) to the film Laskar Pelangi (audio visual). The data were obtained by reading the novel thoroughly and repeatedly, listening to the film and then identifying and comparing aspects of the plot and characters between the two works so as to find similarities and differences between the works and then record the changes that occurred, especially the plot and characters. Data were analyzed by inductive comparative analysis technique and ecranization process. The validity of the data was obtained through semantic validity and reliability (interrater and intrarater). The results showed that: (1) the transformation of the plot from the novel to the Laskar Pelangi film is that there is a difference in the plot through the addition of film scenes, the reduction of the story in the novel but not shown in the film, and variations in the film compared to the original novel, ( 2) the transformation of characterizations from novels to films caused several changes, such as the omission of Drs. Zulfikar, the appearance of the new characters Pak Mahmud, Pak Zulkarnaen, and Pak Bakri.

Abstract

The results of the research on class X students at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pringsewu on the ability to write observations in the form of paragraphs experienced difficulties in identifying topics, generating and developing a frame of mind, then spelling errors in Indonesian. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of students in writing paragraphs containing observations of observations in the form of narrative paragraphs. The research method used is narrative. Analysis of the data used is a test using formulas related to assessment metrics. The results showed that for the 2020-2021 academic year, the percentage of class X students with an average ability score of 67 in the first semester of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pringsewu scored in the sufficient category, because students were not enthusiastic in reading books related to narrative texts, the teacher does not use media and methods that are less attractive to use in the learning process, and the available references are limited in the library.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of drama script writing skills using short stories media for class IX.4 students of SMP Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung in the 2020/2021 academic year. The problem that occurs in this study is the low ability of students in writing drama scripts. This is caused by the lack of student interest in participating in learning and the lack of teacher creativity when using learning media that is easy and fun, so that students have difficulty participating in learning to write drama scripts. The data collection method used is the observation method, the test method (in the form of an assignment to write a play script), and the documentation method. The data collected were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The implementation of this research consisted of two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. Based on the results of the learning process, the use of short stories media can improve the quality of the process and learning outcomes of writing drama scripts for class IX.4 students of SMP Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung in the 2020/2021 academic year.
