Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang menjadi kesulitan belajar matematika siswa pada masa pandemi covid-19 di SMPN 3 Sungai Tebelian. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah analisis faktor eksploratori.Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII A dan VIII A SMPN 3 Sungai Tebelian yang berjumlah 60 orang.Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu angket dan dokumentasi.Berdasarkan Observasi awal yang ditemukan, kesulitan belajar matematika siswa pada masa pandemi covid-19 di SMPN 3 Sungai Tebelian karena faktor internal dan faktor eksternal siswa.Maka dari itu, hasil penelitian ditemukan faktor-faktor kesulitan belajar matematika pada masa pandemi covid-19 yaitu dipengaruhi oleh faktor minat, faktor lingkungan sekitar, faktor pembelajaran daring, faktor kesadaran diri, faktor kemampuan dan faktor kesehatan jasmani dan rohani.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP kelas VII B di SMP N 3 Sungai Tebelian, Sintang, Kalimantan Barat. Selain itu, untuk menelaah masalah-masalah komunikasi yang dihadapi siswa selama pembelajaran pada materi Persamaan Linear Satu Variabel. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskripsi dengan subjek penelitian 25 siswa. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan angket respon untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan 12 butir pertanyaan yang disebarkan secara langsung melalui offline. Ada enam indikator kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang dianalisis namun hanya satu indikator yang dapat dicapai dengan presentase perolehan hasil angket siswa 3,5%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa melalui model Problem Based Learning. Metode penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian ini dilakukan selama tiga siklus dan dilakukan kepada 36 siswa dengan memilih 6 siswa yang digunakan sebagai subjek penelitian. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mendeskripsikan data kuantitatif dan kualitatif yang diperoleh selama proses tindakan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa dapat meningkat melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning. Peningkatan terlihat dari peningkatan setiap Subjek Penelitian (SP), nilai rata-rata tes akhir kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang masuk dalam kategori sangat baik, dan jumlah siswa yang telah dapat meraih kategori baik. Nilai rata-rata tes akhir kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa kelas VII-1 SMPN 176 pada siklus 1 adalah 68,17, meningkat pada siklus 2 menjadi 78,59 dan meningkat kembali pada siklus 3 menjadi 84,95 yang telah masuk kategori sangat baik. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, jumlah siswa yang mendapatkan nilai tes akhir siklus melampaui kategori baik mengalami peningkatan. Pencapaian peningkatan jumlah siswa tersebut diraih dengan rata-rata yang telah meraih kategori baik pada siklus 1 yaitu sebanyak 25% siswa dan siklus 2 sebanyak 58% siswa serta kategori sangat baik pada siklus 3 sebanyak 75% siswa.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the instructional paradigm carried out in schools into learning from home. This causes the need for adaptation of new habits in the online learning process. This article presents an inquiry-based online mathematics learning design on geometry transformation material for high school students (SMA). The selected sub-material is reflection. The development of learning design begins with conducting student analysis, needs analysis, and task analysis focused on the material to be selected. Learning objectives and learning stages are also discussed in detail, and plans for formative and summative evaluations are discussed at the end of the article.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical communication skills of junior high school students class VII B at SMP N 3 Sungai Tebelian, Sintang, West Kalimantan. In addition, to examine the communication problems faced by students during learning on the One Variable Linear Equation material. The research method used is the description method with the research subject of 25 students. This research instrument uses a response questionnaire to determine students' mathematical communication skills with 12 questions that are distributed directly via offline. There are six indicators of mathematical communication skills analyzed but only one indicator can be achieved with the percentage of student questionnaire results obtained 3.5%.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine whether there is an effect of the STAD learning model on distance learning on students' mathematical reasoning abilities. The research was carried out at Avicenna Junior High School, North Bekasi in the seventh grade of the even semester of the 2020/2021 school year on the subject of Quadrilaterals and Triangles. The research method used is quasi-experimental. Sampling using simple random sampling technique. Simple random sampling technique is done by randomly selecting two classes from four classes that are normally distributed, homogeneous, and have the same average to be used as the experimental class (STAD type cooperative learning model) and control class (conventional learning model). The research instrument used was a final test of mathematical reasoning abilities on the subject of quadrilaterals and triangles as many as 6 items of description that had passed content, construct and empirical validity tests. Based on the test results of pre-treatment data analysis prerequisites, the experimental class and control class were normally distributed and homogeneous. Therefore, the statistical hypothesis testing used a t-test with a significance level of = 0.05. Based on the calculation of statistical hypotheses, = 2.8075 and = 1.6772. The value of > . so reject 0 and it can be concluded that there is a difference in the average scores of students' mathematical reasoning abilities, with the average mathematical reasoning ability test scores of experimental class students being higher than those of the control class. This shows that there is an effect of the application of the STAD type cooperative learning model on the mathematical communication skills of Avicenna SMPIT students. The amount of influence based on the calculation of Cohen's effect size is 76% which is included in the medium category.

Abstract

The importance of STEM education has been recognized for preparing diverse students to cultivate future job opportunities in STEM, and for a nation as a whole for technological innovation and national prosperity and security (Li, Schoenfeld, Disessa. 2019). The STEM approach requires the right learning model to be able to achieve learning objectives. One of the learning models that can be used with STEM is PjBL (Project Based Learning). Project-Based Learning (PjBL) is a learning model that teaches concepts in the curriculum through a student-centered project so that they can work autonomously, collaboratively and through assignments. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) is learning that integrates the concepts of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Students are able to apply STEM knowledge practically and produce meaningful learning through PjBL activities. Combining PjBL with STEM has an influence on students' attitudes towards future career pursuits (Tseng, Chang, Lou, Chen. 2013).

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a significant effect of the application of the CORE learning model (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) on ​​students' mathematical connection abilities. This research was conducted on eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 206 Jakarta in the even semester of the 2019/2020 academic year on Pythagorean material. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design (quasi-experimental). Sampling using simple random sampling technique. The simple random sampling technique is carried out by randomly selecting two of the four classes that are normally distributed, homogeneous, and have the same average to serve as the experimental class (CORE learning model (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending)) and the control class (conventional learning model). The research instrument used was a mathematical connection ability test on the Pythagorean material as many as 4 description questions. Before being used, the instrument has been tested for content validity, construct validity, and empirical validity. The reliability calculation was carried out using the Cronbach Alpha formula and obtained a reliability coefficient of r_11 = 0.798 which was included in the high category. Based on the calculation of the research data, the data for the two classes came from a normally distributed population and had the same or homogeneous variance. Therefore, statistical hypothesis testing was carried out using t-test statistics with the same variance. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, the value of 1.745> 1.668, which means rejecting H0 at a significance level of = 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) learning model on the mathematical connection abilities of students at SMP Negeri 206 Jakarta on Pythagorean material with a significance level of = 0.05.

Abstract

This study aimed to knowing and describe students' mathematical representation skills in solving relational and function problems for class VIII in academic year 2021/2022. The research method used was descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The instruments used were mathematical representation ability tests and interview. The research subjects were students VIII C with 30 students who were given a mathematical representation ability test grouped into high, medium, and low categories based on their mathematical ability. From each category, 2 students were selected to be interviewed further. In general, from the test results, students with high mathematical representation abilities have been able to achieve indicators of mathematical representation abilities with an achievement percentage of 82.63% which is very good. Students with moderate mathematical representation skills with an achievement percentage of 51.26%, which is sufficient. and students with low mathematical representation skills with an achievement percentage of 25.95%, which is less. From the results of interviews, students with high mathematical mathematical representation abilities were able to explain the answers to the test results very well. Students with moderate mathematical representation skills are quite able to explain their answers well. Students with low mathematical representation ability are able to explain the answer but the explanation given is less detailed.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the ability to understand mathematical concepts and numerical abilities on the ability to solve story problems. The study is ex-post facto with a quantitative approach. The population in this study was class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kopang. The number of samples as many as 36 students were taken by simple random sampling technique. The data collection technique is in the form of a test. The data obtained were analyzed using a prerequisite test analysis, namely normality test, linearity test, multicollinearity test and heteroscedastic test then continued with hypothesis testing, namely simple and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of data analysis show: 1) the level of relationship between the ability to understand mathematical concepts and students' ability to solve story problems is in the very strong category because the correlation coefficient is 0.844 and there is a significant positive effect with a contribution of 71.2%; 2) the level of relationship between numerical ability and students' ability to solve story problems is in the strong category because the correlation coefficient is 0.726 and there is a significant positive effect with a contribution of 52.6%; 3) the level of relationship between the ability to understand mathematical concepts and numerical abilities with students' ability to solve story problems is in the very strong category because the correlation coefficient is 0.869 and there is a significant positive effect with a contribution of 75.6%.
