Abstract

This study aimed to prove the difference in the effectiveness of modified scapular exercise compared to stretching exercise in pressure pain and neck disability in architecture students with mechanical neck pain in Denpasar. This research is experimental research with pre and post-test two-group design. The research sample consisted of 16 people who were divided into two groups by simple random sampling. Group 1 with the modified scapular exercise intervention and group 2 with the stretching exercise intervention. Both groups received treatment 3 times a week for 6 weeks. Measurements were made before and after treatment. Pressure pain was measured with a pressure algometer and neck disability were measured with the Indonesian version of the neck disability index questionnaire. Based on the paired sample t-test on modified scapular exercise and stretching exercise, the results obtained were right and left pressure pain with a value of p<0.001 and neck disability with p<0.001, which means that there was a significant difference in the decrease of pressure pain and neck disability before and after the intervention, in each group. For the independent sample t-test, the value of right pressure pain was p<0.05, left pressure pain was p<0.05, and neck disability was p<0.001, which showed significant differences in the decrease of pressure pain and neck disability in the two groups. In conclusion, modified scapular and stretching exercises can decrease pressure pain and neck disability in architecture students with mechanical neck pain in Denpasar. However, based on the analysis of the results of the intervention, modified scapular exercise was more effective in decreasing pressure pain and neck disability in architecture students with mechanical neck pain compared to stretching exercise.

Diabetes mellitus has increased due to several factors, one of which is knowledge. Thus, increasing knowledge can be applied in many ways, one of which is to provide teaching using audiovisual methods. The type of research used is quassy experiment design research design with one group pre test-post test design. Providing foot gymnastics education through audiovisual media and demonstration methods can increase the knowledge and ability of people with type 2 diabetes in doing foot exercises. A positive rating with an N value of 48, which means that out of 54 respondents, the pre and post test scores increased with a mean rank or average increase of 21.00 and the number of ratings was 861.00. The obstacle value is N 7, meaning that there are 7 respondents with the same score between the previous test and the final test. Based on the results of statistical tests, a significance value of 0.000 is obtained which means that H0 is rejected because of the significance value of p <; 0.05 and Ha is accepted, it can be concluded that foot motor education through audiovisual affects the knowledge of diabetics. The use of audiovisual media and demonstration methods can be used by puskesmas nurses as a means of advertising and prevention of diabetic ulcer complications to improve the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes.

Abstract

IVFD installation is one of the most common procedures given to children, especially in hospitals. Around 80% of pediatric patients receive an infusion procedure which causes the child to experience unpleasant experiences such as hospitalization problems. So that there is no adverse response for the child and during treatment therapy is needed to reduce distress and suppress this negative response. One of them is Parental Holding or the holding position carried out by parents or family. The research method used in this research is quantitative research, namely experimental research with a quasi-experimental approach. Quasi experimental research design with a Two Group Post test only Design approach. The sampling technique used is Accidental Sampling. The number of respondents was 60 people consisting of 30 respondents in each group. Implementation of Parental Holding with Sitting Position is carried out every time an IVFD is installed on a pediatric patient until completion. Analysis in this study used the Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney U tests with α ≤ 0.05. The results of this study using the Mann Whitney U statistical test showed that there was an effect of Parental Holding with Sitting Position on the Success of IVFD Installation in Pediatric Patients in the Emergency Room, p=0.047, (p value ≤ 0.05). It is suggested that the results of this research can be used to maximize nursing services, especially in independent nursing actions by implementing the Holding Parental with Sitting Position when installing IVFD on pediatric patients, so that in the future this nursing action can become a standard operational procedure that applies in hospitals.
